I stayed here for two nights and it was fit for purpose. The location isn’t great but it is centric. I walked around as late as 2:30 am, lots of people sleeping on the streets nearby (not at the hotel block but a few blocks away). Very busy area which makes it safe. Great staff and spacious room. We arrived at the property on 2/11/2024. The location was gteat for our needs however, the property is run down and filthy. We had cockroaches and the towels were grey old and tattered. Something you would wipe your car with. This property serves as a temporary home for some student from dental school across the street.I will never stay here again!

Just for the location

Room was spacious but everything ( except the aircon) was old. Sink was plastered with a hideous gray sealant. Ref was bigger than the usual hotel ref though. Check in and out was tedious. I guess the only reason youll book this hotel is its location.

We got the \"king bed\" but it turned out it was 2 double bed they put together, so when you sleep in the middle, your shoulder will be buried in between beds. You can hear all the noise from outside, jeepney honking, buses, tricyle even the lrt. The location is near in the hospital so ambulances are come and go and we can hear all of them. Curtains are not blocking the light so you need to get up or you cover your eyes if you want to sleep more when it's bright. Staff are very accommodating and kind though. Room is old, furnitures are old. Towels are old. I only like the staff, they're very polite and helpful. I requested an iron and they give me the stand also.

This is an older hotel probably built in the ninteen seventies. The room I stayed in had been recently painted and renovated and is much improved from my last staya few years ago. New flat screen televisions. Excellent new split system air conditioners that are very quiet with very good cooling ability. Good sized rooms with large wardrobes and new in room safes. There is a very nice outdoor swimmer pool outside on the ninth floor. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a very convenient location close to a large shopping centre and restaurants. Three large hospitals are situated within a five minute walk

Reality vs. Expectation

We already tried several Hotels in Manila and Pasay, so far this is the most unexpected one.
1. Location wise, yes near MRT, not crowded, 24hrs transpo are available except for trains.
2. Room amenities - complete kit. Towel? worn out. Towel Smell? could be great if they put some fabric con since it smells like smoke or something.
3. Pool? ok, but we cant use it since many CHINESE guest make it like their common area. games, surfing, smoking, ng hindi naman nagswiswimming, so nakakahiya naman wala ka mapaglagyan ng gamit kasi yung bench and tent gamit nila till pool closing hours. Pano ka magswiswimming kung ang daming phone na nakatapat sayo, yung mga nakapaligid lahat naka rubber shoes along pool area ha. Ikaw pa titignan ng masama kasi gagamit ka ng pool.
4. Cleanliness - its a big issue for everyone specially for comfort room, considering we took the superior room so we expect more to the basic one but then the CR size was small, the tiles on the floor was not clean. Tiles was old and have some scratched \"nagbibitakbitak na\" . Inside the room was clean aside form the CR but not totally clean. Hallway? carpet are dirty, dust everywhere.
5. Aircon, the best, winter like inside the room.
6. Food, purely basic one.
7. Internet? well, wala. open wifi daw kaso di ka naman makaconnect kahit 5 mins. man lang. good thing malakas yung signal ng network data.
8. Price? not worth for the price to be honest.
9. Hotel building, old hotel type, hope they could renovate it

The air conditioner was leaking. The towels are so old it takes so long to wipe ur body dry. A hairdryer should be in the bathroom permanently-not something u need to request as well as the iron and ironing board. Can u get a longer cord for the iron? And why is the front desk on the 9th floor???

I like the fact that the pool wasn’t crowded and the elevator staffs were attentive 24/7! The stay cleaning was also done fast but I think no new towels were replaced. There were cigarettes at the veranda but the view was nice:) The staff were nice. The Dining area is located at the Check-In floor but it was peaceful:) I expected a buffet breakfast but still we had a fine breakfast and enjoyed the beds:)

check in was easy. The people there are very friendly.
The building however is very old and needs renovation.
The pool hours is only until 2100 which is abit short footer me. The Wi-Fi was slow and broken for several hours, it was fixed later at night but it consumed a lot of my time waiting for it to come back. The tv has the standard philippines channels but the room has no channel directory. The lighting on the lamps does not match. One is orange and the other was white. The king size bed was just 2twin size stick together and it's not that soft. My overall experience was disappointing.

Bugs/Rats are Hard to Handle

It was somewhat okay. The hotel had some issues. Room temperature was actually really good. My main issues were three part, though. First, there was a huge bug problem in the room. A random bug is one thing. There were actually roaches in the refrigerator. The second issue is in the last day, there was a rat in the dining area (restaurant) on the 9th floor... I guess it took the elevator up? Not sure. And the last thing was the last two nights there I was promised a rate better than what I could get online (via this website) but they charged more than what I was getting. I talked to them about that and ended up only staying one night instead of two, mainly because of A) bugs B) rats and C) they lied... but being real, it’s the rat and bugs. If I wanted to stay, I could’ve fought about the changes rate and really got that handled. I think they would’ve recognized all of that issue and remedied it. Rats in the kitchen make my stomach hurt.

A Nice Place With A Good Pool.

The room is nice,spacious and clean, and everything seemed to work OK. The swimming pool on the 9th floor is nice and has great views. The curtains in the room are thin, so maybe bring a sleep shade. All the rooms are high enough to be quiet. A station on the elevated train is only a block away.

Exceptional staff makes up for any shortfalls

The purpose of my coming to the Philippines was for a church conference, in which the hotel was suitated right next door to the church, which was a plus plus plus! From the moment of arrival the check in was smooth and pleasant. The hotel was not difficult to find (I used their pick-up accommodation as it was my first time in the Philippines, but I recommend using a Grab Taxi from the airport as it is much cheaper). The staff is what has made my experience here an absolute delight. Was the room perfect? No. Were there problem with it? Yes. Whilst all of that could be fixed by paying for a hotel with a mouth higher rating, the reception and care of the staff at the hotel could never be bought. I’ve found that the hotels that I’ve had a long stay in usually have just a handful of staff who deliver expectional service, but such was not the case in this hotel. EVERY single staff that in encountered, even in just passing by was extremely pleasant and helpful. That’s why I will return to this hotel despite the issues and will recommend ANYONE to stay here, families; singles and students alike.

The negative side of my experience was a bug outbreak. From day 3 of my stay until I left numerous insects invaded my room, despite the efforts of the staff to control it. However I have hope that this will be fully inspected and dealt with in the near future.

I stayed in a twin bed room which had air con and a lovel view. Despite the bugs, the room was clean and cleaned daily!

Walking distance to almost all the places we visited in Manila. Had a great experience in this hotel except with the breakfast, offered only 2 choices. The smell outside the building stinks a lot need to wear a mask even the guards. We loved the swimming pool, clean and well maintained. Very nice view of the City grom yhe room. I would love to stay again if not for the unhealthy smell outside the building.

The room was clean but unfortunately I wasn't given king size bed as per booking it's 2 single bed combined to look like a king size bed, air-conditioning system faulty as the a/c is not blowing cold air as it should. Came to this hotel, because of its location as size. I was hoping for it to be more of an american style hotel, but it wasn't. It was more of an apartment if anything. Bathroom was clean, living room and bedroom were huge, and the AC unit in room kept the room cool, while me and my family were out doing our thing. Breakfast was good. We didn't use the pool, because my daughter didn't want to swim. It was an overall decent place. The only thing i didn't like was the area it was located in. Its close to Robinson Mall, but on our walk there, you see lots of street vendors, and poor kids running around asking for money. Even tho you want to walk to your hotel because its close, you'd rather take an UBER instead. Also, there are a lot of KTV bars close by, which mean that there are a lot of hookers near by. It was awkward walking around the hotel with my 2 year old and 7 month, and watching old white men or Korean tourists taking their call girls to their room. Other than that it was ok.

Pretty good hotel. Close by to many fast food restaurants like Jolibee and McDonalds. The room was decently sized, and was able to accomodate a family of four. Wish the could atleast provided a crib. Internet was decent, not blazingly fast, but enough to get by. Bathroom was nice and clean, and showers were nice and hot. I did see 2 cockroaches crawl around the place. Now, let's talk about them elevators. Pretty slow, and no AC. I felt bad for the elevator attendants that have to sit in there all day.

Home away from Home

We've been staying here off and on for over 15 years so it's like a home away from home to us. The Hotel Staff is outstanding and will go out of their way to meet your needs and make your stay comfortable. One staff member, \"Jim\" went out of his way to make sure we had the room we wanted, and when we requested an additional room for out niece and nephew, he found one a few doors down from us which made our stay even more enjoyable. We like the area as it's the real Manila, not the touristy version. There are a couple of convenience stores and small ma and pa restaraunts just across the street, and a large variety of street food which we find irresistible. There is a college right across the street so if you frequent the street food stands, look for the ones that have a lot of people in line as those are usually the best and safest.
I'm sorry to report that the hotel seems to be going downhill. The maintenance and upkeep is not there. Although the hotel is still very clean and comfortable, the whole hotel seems rundown and needs to be remodeled. So sorry to see this icon go the way so many other great Manila hotels have. Still, the staff makes us feel like family. They remember us when we arrive and greet us like old friends so we will probably continue to stay there in the future

The air conditioner in the room would not shut off and only had one speed, very high. However, at least I could control the temperature on it. The safe in my room did not work, even after two attempts by the staff to make it work. The internet kept going out and when it was in, it was slow at best.

The hotel seems to need some updating with the interiors and pool. The location is convenient with some attractions within walking distance like Luneta park and Intramuros. There are also malls nearby. I guess if you're looking at a few days stay and you're not too fussy then it's good enough.

Our hotel experienced was not good from the very start we enter the hotel, the parking building looks like an abandoned building, elevator to the hotel lobby is partially under maintenance, after our check in at the 9th floor hotel lobby, we were billeted at the 13th floor a very eerie floor, the corridor smells like it was an old hospital, when we enter our room, it smells like it was never been used for a year, the air conditioning unit is dilapidated, louver is missing and it's remote control not functioning well, it only respond to on and off of the unit. We think of transferring to other hotel, but we have already paid for our 2 nights stay thru your online booking, not refundable.

Thankful it was only one night!

Lobby is nice, which leads you to believe the rooms will be nice. I am ok with old things, but not dirty/filthy/grimy! Our room was yucky, the bathroom was SO disgusting and no, they didn't have another room available. It was late at night so we didn't feel comfortable trying to find another hotel. Within the first five minutes in the room, I killed two cockroaches! We hung our backpacks in the closet-after spraying them with bug spray- in hopes the bugs wouldn't get in our things. We sprayed the beds with bug spray and didn't dare take a shower. We had just spent a couple of weeks traveling around Thailand and Cambodia, this was the most expensive hotel we stayed in and it was the dirtiest/grossest place we stayed. I was so thankful to check out in the morning! I would not recommend this hotel to an enemy!!!

From the outdated look of all the furniture (it may have been new in the early 60's) which wasn't the worst part, to the fact that the entrance we were taken to, of the hotel was in the middle of an alley with homeless people sleeping across the street, to the bugs scurrying everywhere when we got into our room.
Can not believe that Orbitz would allow a property this bad to be offered on its site

How did this average rating come to be?!?!

In reading previous reviews I had some expectations when it came to walking into this hotel. To say that it is \"dated\" is a HUGE understatement. Furniture, from the lobby (both on the first floor, and at reception), to the room were hold backs from the early 60's and appeared to have been bought at that time as EVERYTHING had stains on it and was showing signs of wear. When we finally got into the room, it had the feel of a totalitarian living space. Sparsely decorated, drab colors, and again furniture that showed it's age and use. Best of all, upon entering the restroom, it was infested with cockroaches (and not the small little baby ones either).
It was so bad we had to leave and go to another hotel, even after we had paid for this one. The hotel staff was less than accommodating stating \"well there are no refunds because you booked through a travel site\".
Pictures of the property are NOT what we saw at all.

Restaurant sucks. No shuttle. wifi is almost non existent. Will never stay here again.
