This is a VERY mediocre hotel. Very bad for the price. The mattress was so bad, with springs poking me all night, I almost slept on the floor. The A/C is other off or on full blast, with l levers broken and always facing down at the bed. I spent the night freezing. The shower had hot water, for 2 minutes....

No windows i cannot breath the AC looked like it was coming from a scrap shop.. although they granted a request to change the room but i dont feel comfortable and I left.

As part of my layover in Manila, I chose this hotel, mainly based on price and location. I must say that City State Tower Hotel met the grade on both of these. Although it is somewhat dated, the hotel has very adequate facilities with a very helpful and friendly staff. There are many stores, restaurants and other places of interest very close by, including Robinson, which has a huge supermarket and department store. The room had a comfortable bed, a very good air conditioner and good sink and shower with warm water. There is even a water kettle for coffee or tea. So overall, very satisfied and I definitely would stay there again in the future.

The included breakfast is very good. Concierge service to Puerto Galera is good, but very expensive. However; the bed was very hard and springs were hitting me all night, the shower didn't work (no hot water anyway), strict rule of two small bottles of water, very inconvenient placement of outlets and a 1,000 peso deposit even though there is no minibar (what did they think we would steal, the bed?) and the overall feel was very run down.

No on site parking availability even though its on their property details. Was given the option of parking 3 or 4 blocks away in the Robinsons parking lot but I would have had to move it again because they don't have overnight parking. The other option was to do valet parking. I told the manager on duty that it was not acceptable and I wouldn't return as a customer. After some hesitation, he upgraded me to the valet parking lot which I appreciated.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. Avoid at all costs. It is not worth the price. If you like bland food, poor internet that drops your connection every 10 minutes, ancient air conditioners that need to be dusted, and non-smart TVs and weird odors that smell like your grandma's spice cupboard, then you are in for luck. I can understand a room being non-refundable but a business should at least be able to provide the basic amenities that they advertise.

Great staff, great room!

Great location. Stayed here to take the Klook bus/ferry to Puerto Galera. Staff was great, room was clean with good air conditioning and hot shower. The breakfast buffet in the morning which we opted for in our room charges was delicious. Highly recommend the Citystate Tower Hotel.

First room no windows. Asked for change, moved me to a room with windows. Wondering why I was not placed there the first time.
Very nice and clean, 2 beds, warm shower.
BREAKFAST needs improvements. Had to search for napkins and silverware, not on table. Scrambled eggs pan empty, sausages cold, limited items, no pancakes, ample salad items.

All over the Philippines there are sneaky little 1-2 inch steps/ rises that completely catch you by surprise. Found it to be a nationwide issue, weird - so watch your step.
Exiting your room's bathroom and even a few spots in the lobby no exception.
Not enough fruit on the menu so I hunted my own and cut it up in my room, but I came to Asia to gorge on Papaya, mango, mangosteen, etc.

This is about a 3 star property. Get a room in the back, because the ones in the front get a lot of street noise. The best thing about this place is they have a bus/ferry combo going to beach resort Puerta Galera. It leaves at 9:30 a.m.

Airconditioning unit was old so do expect that you will be sleeping with sweat esp. during summer nights. Towels were old. Luggages in the reception area were an eyesore. Half of the bldg. is also a casino. So, if you're a non smoker better find another hotel. In all fairness, the breakfast food was good although they don't serve hot chocolate in the buffet.

Breakfast is ok, not that much to choose from. On parking, they don't have parking space in the bldg but have parking arrangement few blocks from the hotel and you can avail of their valet but we have to look for where the car was parked afterwards as it was not in the location they indicated.

Parking was a pronlen from the very start, i.e., upon arrival.

Manager was very accommodating, just like the ftont desk staffs.

The manager accompanied me to the parking lot - at the cherry blossoms - since i misplaced my valet parking stub.

When we got back to citystate, i took my other car key back. Later did i notice that the house key attached to it was already torn to half. Whew!

Dirty hotel with tiny grotty rooms. Nothing like the picture shown by expedia. Breakfast was terrible. Dining room too small for the number of guests. Had to ask for a clean knife and fork or for a cup to get some coffee, no toaster. Chef tried to pan fry some bread for me whilst my eggs were going cold. Told him not to worry. Last time i use Expedia !

Reserve in another hotel. This one is overestimate

May be it was because we had reserved on hotel.com, but we were housed in the smallest room of the floor, withour any window. In the corridor, the employees are very noisy at any timle of the day or night. At beakfast, the empoyees are not at all kind. I asked for hor milk and was answered: \"sorry, we just have cold milk\". There was no butter, we had to wait 10 munites and ask 2 different persons to get some of it. Compared with other hotels in Manilla, the price is too high for the service provided. Don't reserve in this hotel !

The deal was pretty good so I decided to try it out. The front desk service is poor. The guy at the front Nikko is arrogant and condescending. The room was fine and so was the breakfast. If you want a better experience go to City Garden down the street - their customer service is excellent and so is their buffet.

his was my 3rd stay in this hotel coz i have no option due to its location. very convinient location coz robinsons and other restaurants are very near. but since last 4 yrs i have see no improvment in rooms. my aircon, shower and refrigerator were not working and also not good condition. 2nd day we have to change the room. other room also has same poor condition of electrical gadgets. hope the management will improve the condition of rooms and upgrade it.

It wasn't bad for the price at all. It's very convenient for the purpose of our trip to go to st lukes. Food chains close to the area, so as Robinson's mall. Staff were friendly. You can tell that the hotel is a bit old but it's still in good shape.. I would stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel for years always booking direct. This time I booked with Hotel.com and found a reasonable price. Peso 2100 a night . A little on the high side because the City State Tower hotel is NOT worth P2100 a night. I'd say P1750 with breakfast would be a fair price

So went down for breakfast. Breakfast was not included in the price. We checked our booking with Hotel.com and that was correct. So what's the problem you ask - read the fine print right !?

Wrong. In 10 years stay at the hotel breakfast has always been included. City State Tower is offering a 'cheap deal' with Hotel.com designed to sucker in people with a lower rate hoping they won't notice. That happened to us and net effect was we were the only people not getting breakfast at this hotel.

Will NEVER stay here again and making a point of telling all of our friends, their friends, facebook buddies not to stay here.
