It was truly serenity living in the woods, hotel staff at reception were nice and friendly. Breakfast spread were decent but note it’s cabinet stuff instead of hot meals. Only downside were housekeeping, our rooms were not vacuumed throughout all nights. Other than the jacuzzi tub and comfortable bed, the hotel could use some refurbishment to freshen up the whole experience. One downside will be the lack of kitchen sink where you will need to do all refilling and washing with the small toilet basin. Overall we enjoyed our stay, accessible to most attractions and shops too.

Heritage Trail Lodge was a great base for the Margaret River area, on the edge of town but walkable into the centre. The rooms are set in a really pleasant, green environment and the breakfast is a very enjoyable bonus. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, nicely equipped with lovely wooden furnishings in a functional rather than luxurious way.
Out the back we had a spacious patio area looking into woodland, albeit with a public trail passing by.
We would definitely return and would like to stay longer.

Very chill and relaxing stay. Our room was spotless and generously sized, with a spacious spa bath that was perfect for unwinding. Breakfasts were an absolute treat each morning. Peter was incredibly welcoming and shared some fantastic recommendations for things to see and do around town, which really enhanced our stay. Highly recommended.

The rooms were spacious and the decks backed onto the forest. Although a bit dated, they were very clean and tidy. The heat and ac worked perfectly and the room was quiet and peaceful. Ricky who was manning breakfast and the front desk was kind, informative and welcoming. I was a bit underwhelmed by the breakfast selection which lacked protein and was heavily focused on bread and yogurt, but there was fresh fruit every day and a fun coffee machine. There was a small fridge in each room and dishes, a kettle and utensils. Lacking was a microwave which would have been a great addition.

This property far exceeded our expectations. The website was a bit busy and hard to get a true feel for what to expect, but boy did it deliver.
We didn't realize when we checked in that we were speaking to one of the new owners. She was so helpful and gave us excellent customer service.
Our Room was amazing. Very comfortable bed and spacious living and relaxing area. Huge bathroom with a jetted tub that we didn't find time to enjoy. Easy walking distance to town and right next door to a highly rated Microbrewery (didn't get to sample it, but was very busy). Only very slight negative is that breakfast didn't start until 8:30 AM. As a very early riser, I've usually had my breakfast by 7 to 7:30 and started my day. When we get back to Margaret River, this will be our first choice if we're lucky enough to get a room here.

We stayed here for a night on a quick visit to Margaret river. Room was large and comfortable with outdoor setting. Room is dated but spa tub is a nice bonus. Very easy to walk into town. Nice walk trails behind lodge but not well signposted. Continental buffet breakfast was good.

A nice property, clean and spacious with everything we needed fir a comfortable nights stay. The continental breakfast was very nice and excellent coffee! There is a brewhouse next door (through a pathway from the carpark) which served good food and ale! Our only little moan was how cold the room was, the heating didn't want to kick in, we stayed the tail end of winter and it was a chilly night but apart from that it was all good!

We really enjoyed our stay. Apart from traffic noise It was a very relaxing night. With the brewery right next door for few drinks then a relaxing spa in our room. We sat on our own private balcony and painted and together. In the morning we head off early on a lovely peaceful round trip forrest walk and stopped for a pot of tea and a game of cribbage on the way back. Would definitely stay again.

The old carpet really needs to be replaced with healthy tiles for easy cleaning…. Carpet is scary!

Everything we wanted and more

We loved the Lodge. It was very friendly, unfussy and very comfortable.
We had a great well equipped large room where we sat on the balcony every night and fed the exotic birdlife.
The bed was wonderfully comfortable and everything we needed was within a casual 10-15 minute stroll.
Great continental breakfast most of which is locally sourced. Terry, the hotelier was very friendly and always available with advice and friendly guidance. It was our 1st time in Margaret River (we are from UK). My son lives in Perth so we will return. One of the conditions of our staying in the area on future trips will be dependent on us being able to secure a booking at the Lodge. Honestly, we cant speak highly enough of it. My husband and I stayed here while visiting from Canada in early 2024 and it was the perfect location for our visit to the area. It's clear that the Lodge's hosts, Helen and Terry, take pride in welcoming guests and helping them make the most of their time in and around Margaret River. With walkable restaurants and bars and easy drives to caves, beaches, scenic views and more, this was ideally located. The daily breakfast with pastries, muffins, breads and spreads, yogurt, fruit and more made for a great start to each day. We had a wonderful visit here.

This was a two night stay. The setting is really nice. However the property is very dated especially the bathroom. I can only say the property has very little charm. However the bed was extremely comfortable
The property is very close to the centre of Margaret River.
Breakfast was ok.
My main concern was the wooden steps to the room, the riser gave way resulting in me falling. Only a minor graze, but could have been much more serious.Clearly it lacks maintenance. However the manager quickly resolved the issue.

This is a lovely, conveniently located, and friendly hotel to stay, if you are in Margaret River or exploring the wider region. In-between the hotel lodges, and within the gardens, beautiful vegetation thrives. It is lovely to emerge from one's hotel room and step into a garden!

The hotel is usefully located a short walk from the centre of Margaret River and next door to the Margaret River Brewhouse, where tasty beer, wine and food can be gleaned. Some nice shops, bars, cafes, restaurants can be found in town. We were warmly welcomed by Michelle, who provided ideas for nearby excursions, walking trails and so forth.

Breakfast is very good. It is a buffet style continental breakfast, with great options for cereal, yogurt, local cheeses, cold meats, local fruits and preserves. A great start to a tourists' day of sight-seeing! :-)

Rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, with a patio area for seating (looking out onto the bush, where you may spot a galah!). My only minor gripe is that the bathrooms would benefit from a little modernisation. I would stay here again and would highly recommend it!

We loved our stay at Heritage Trail Lodge. The owner was very attentive and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The room was warm and cosy. The access to Brewhouse Brewery and nearby shopping was great. I enjoyed the spa bath,although it took me a while to work out the on/off button as it was a bit stiff!! The breakfast was great and even though it was not a cooked breakfast there was lots of good variety. Will be back!!!

Breakfast was the same everyday. Options would be nice. Maybe put in a microwave in the rooms for warming up small meals. Otherwise a big thanks to the team that run this place.

The room could use a facelift though. The lodge was clean and tidy, but obviously has seen many guests over the years! Possibly time for an update as showing it's age, especially the bathroom. The simple continental breakfast was included which was nice.. cereal, toast, fruit & Yogurt each day. Perhaps concider switching up what is on offer a couple of times a week so it doesn't get too repetitive for guests staying multiple nights. Cable TV in the room was a nice surprise, sadly many channels including movie channels were not included in the subscription. There was however an old school DVD player if you are inclined to pack your favorite flicks! That said, I would return to the heritage trail lodge. :)

This accommodation was a great find - just off the main street but next to the brewhouse and opposite the distillery! Exclusive parking area off the main road. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast which was included in the price was great and had everything that we could have wanted. Staff were all super helpful, especially when giving tourist info. The only downside is that the road noise was pretty loud from our villa (the accommodation is on the main route) but thankfully, it did go quiet overnight eventually! It was a great base for a few days, with only short drives to the wineries north and also south to Augusta, Hamelin Bay and some of the most beautiful beaches and coves I have ever visited.

We enjoyed our stay at Heritage Trail Inn. The room was very comfortable. We had the handicap accommodation so the shower rather splattered the floor with water and made a mess. But other than that it was very very good.
