Useful information about Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge before you book

A relaxing and beautiful Ecolodge built on 5 acres of gardens and forest at the base of Mt Tibrogargan, the most famous of the Glasshouse Mountains. The Ecolodge is the perfect retreat with its tranquillity and abundant wildlife and its central location only half an hour's drive to superlative beaches, beautiful mountain scenery, interesting villages and numerous national parks.

The Ecolodge itself is quite unusual, built from an old church and two vintage railway carriages - one is a well equipped self catering kitchen and the other a comfortable lounge/games/library. The old church is a great workshop space for small workshops and retreats.

The Ecolodge is suitable for singles, couples, families and other small groups.

With a stay at Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge in Glass House Mountains, you'll be in the mountains, just steps from Glasshouse Mountains National Park and a 3-minute drive from Parrots in Paradise. This guesthouse is 3.7 mi (5.9 km) from Glasshouse Mountains Environmental Reserve and 4.3 mi (7 km) from Mount Ngungun.

Make yourself at home in one of the 11 individually decorated guestrooms. Your pillowtop bed comes with premium bedding.

Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Private bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and hair dryers.

Featured amenities include luggage storage, a library, and a water dispenser. Planning an event in Glass House Mountains?

This guesthouse has 1033 square feet (96 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and meeting rooms. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free self parking is available onsite.

It's a great property in a beautiful natural environment. The owner is very pleasant and knows the area well. The room was basic but comfortable, no complaints. Best part of the stay was walking around the large property, listening to the birds and reading a book in the shade. Loved it.

Keith was a fantastic host. So accommodating and inviting. He showed us around the property and gave us great tips on where to go in the area as well as where to head when in Australia Zoo.
The gardens and area surrounding the property was gorgeous. Our girls loved helping cook in the rail carriage kitchen and eat in the shared diner and outdoor seating area.
The surrounding areas are great. Will totally recommend to anyone I know visiting the area.

Cosy Retreat, great for walkers and nature lovers

Nestled amongst the trees with a garden view of the mountain. Lots of walks nearby and the tavern in town is a short 5min drive (great food). We stayed here because of the proximity to the zoo; 12mins by car. The service was personal and breakfast at the train was simple and yummy. Thank you.

Little Gem in the Glasshouse mountains

What a find! …location is exceptional . We enjoyed the fabulous bungalow accommodation set in the heart of the Glasshouse mountains and only a 15 min drive to the Australia zoo. Keith the host was amazing and even helped us check-in 3 hours late. A special mention to Sally who was an extra ray of sunshine at breakfast. A walk around the grounds and seeing the quirky additions and woodland/creek wander is certainly worth doing.
Just wish we’d had longer in the area

The property is situated in a great location where you can see the mountain directly. There is a little orchard on the property and a forest that you can explore with children. It is also located near Australia Zoo (about 10 mins drive) and plenty of eating options too. The owner, Keith, is delightful and provided us with great hospitality - not sure how he does it on his own but he does a great job!

Nature Lover's Paradise with Rich History &Comfort

This hotel is an incredible destination for nature enthusiasts. Nestled among lush tropical fruit trees, we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the property using their detailed plant map, which enriched our understanding of the surrounding flora.

The accommodation was stunning—an expansive, two-story wooden chalet with a charming German/Swiss pine design. It was impressively spacious, comfortably accommodating our family of four (two adults and two children). Our eldest, aged 8, delighted in the loft-style attic room upstairs. Do note that the stairs are a bit steep, so a phone torch can be handy at night.

One of the most memorable aspects was learning about the property's rich history and the inspiring vision of its creator, Keith. His dedication is evident in the restoration of an old train carriage and the remarkable relocation of a church, which involved a seven-hour journey by road.

Bird lovers will be especially enchanted by the symphony of birdsong that greets the morning, making each day start with a natural serenade. For those who enjoy hiking, the hotel’s proximity to excellent trails is a significant bonus. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a serene retreat with a blend of history, nature, and comfort!

Simple accommodations in a beautiful setting. Our room had access to a communal kitchen rather than kitchen/fridge facilities within the room, this was described on the website and suited us fine. Staff and location was good.
Outside area is well maintained (gardern was good, also night timing sensor lights are on and convinient to reach room)

But no facilities available inside the room i.e., NO tv/microwave/fridge/toaster etc (seems they are at a common location outside a place which is shared with others ) - * it is not mentioned in the booking timings.

It is one of the places that you want to keep for yourself and not letting other people know, so you can keep coming back to stay. The ecolodge is an excellent accommodation option in the Glass House Mountains area. We stayed there at a quieter time with not many guests at the lodge. The quality of accommodation was superb. The property itself is amazing with a range of accommodations available and wonderful Garden of Eaten. Even being out of season we picked up few fruits to enjoy. One can turn it into an educational experience for kids by learning names of various fruit trees and some facts about them (there is a guide book to help). There are various short walks around the property as well as a small library and games/toys that keep children (and adults) occupied. Lookouts and bushwalks are very close. Communal kitchen is fit with everything you need for cooking. It might be hot there during summer but we were at a cooler time, so did not notice it much. Staff is very helpful and accommodative.

Had to book something quickly for one night so probably got the last room. It was cheap and probably what you would expect for the price. Even so its still good money that was more about the badge than the product. Bed very uncomfortable and squeaky. Room noisy from surrounding visitors. Bathroom clean but dated and shower leaking. Overall better than sleeping in back of the car, but probably no better than a cabin at an unbranded caravan park. Happy to have paid more for better experience if there was one available as the overall property is very lovely and unique. Maybe next time.

The total experience started on arrival. At check in we were certainly looked after. Sally showed us around the lodge explaining where we would have breakfast to where our room was located, along with details of the afternoon walk we were about to embark on.
Breakfast was provided at very good cost and Keith was perfect host, making us a very good plunger of coffee to start the day.
Thanks for a very nice enjoyable stay. We hope to return in the very near future with friends,

We stayed in the train carriage which was very quiet and relaxing. Facilities were excellent, fantastic bird noises and plenty of places to enjoy nature. We loved this property, it's perfect for the short weekend break we needed.

It's quaint, feels more \"rural/country\" than it is, there are loads of bush walks / amenities within a short drive.

Keith (the owner) was welcoming, kind and very helpful with orientating us to the property.

We stayed in the bungalow and all accommodation was far enough not to hear anyone else.

A wonderful, quiet retreat close to Brisbane in the stunning Glass House Mountains. Disappointed that there is no charging available for electric vehicles in an eco-retreat. This is challenging as the closest charger is Coory Railway Station, an hour up the highway. The Orchard cabins are functional but tiny and the outdoor area is not private. The property is immaculate in every way though. Cheap and cheerful.
