Wonderful and quiet! Such a cozy home and very friendly hosts. They have a dog, Ginger, who is very sweet. The first snowfall of the season started as we woke up and it was beautiful.

We would've stayed longer had there been an opening, but we would no doubt come back again on our next trip to Canada. Our room was amazingly clean, the bed was super comfortable, and so warm and inviting. Our hosts recommended a couple places to visit (a wonderful restaurant and a large art/gift shop nearby) and we followed up on their suggestions and both were exceptional! I must add that we had beautiful fall weather during our stay here which made our stay even more exceptional. We highly recommend The Gathering Place on Golden Ponds.

Annette and Al welcomed us upon our arrival, and we couldn't overlook their adorable little dog, Ginger. Annette showed us to our room, which was so cozy and lovely. Al gave us offerings for breakfast the next morning. This property is truly a gem. It offers a peaceful atmosphere that's perfect for strolling through the beautiful gardens, where the flowers are simply gorgeous. We enjoyed a nightcap on the patio and had a wonderful night's sleep, feeling right at home. Al prepared his famous blueberry pancakes for breakfast. They were undoubtedly the best pancakes we've ever tasted, so light and fluffy! If you seek peace and tranquillity, this is the perfect place. Annette and Al are truly wonderful people; it feels as though we've known them forever. They are very talented; Annette is a quilter, and Al does scroll work. We purchased from their gift shop. It's always a pleasure to support local artisans who pour their heart and soul into their work.

Unique roundhouse construction and great hosts who make your stay enjoyable, share details about the construction and are happy to give tips on the area. They won't let you leave hungry either. We reserved two side-by-side rooms for a family of four. If you find yourself in the area or perhaps taking the scenic route to/from Ottawa - this is an interesting and friendly place to visit for a night or two. Our stay at the Gathering Place on Golden Ponds was very enjoyable. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The location is very scenic and the room was decorated beautifully. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is that we had to use a bathroom on a different floor so had to walk up the stairs and through their living area to get to the bathroom. However there is one located on the same floor that was in use by other guests. We enjoyed looking around at Old Hastings Mercantile and Gallery which is just down the road and is amazing.

A lovely cozy cabin type house nessled in the woods! The house is full of history and a must see for any nature loving enthusiast. A tranquil retreat in the forest
Everything was wonderful - the room and bathroom were bright, clean, and comfortably appointed. I really enjoyed looking out from the room to the beautiful garden full of wildflowers. The property itself is an absolute work of art - the house itself has a unique and noteworthy architecture and construction that was fascinating to learn about. I loved looking out from the wrap-around deck to the peaceful forest pond below and walking around the grounds, enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. I only wish it had been a clear night to see the stars! I was offered a choice of breakfast entrees, and chose an asparagus omelet, which was perfectly prepared by Al. I really enjoyed my stay and plan to return the next time I'm in the area. What a gem of a property and Annette and Al are wonderful hosts.
