The staff was nice for the most part. I booked through hotels.com and they did not have my booking upon arrival. We had just traveled from Ohio to Texas and we were TIRED. It was very frustrating. The room is you get what you pay for type situation. The location wasn’t bad. Didn’t seem too sketchy. The bed was super uncomfortable. The blanket might as well have been a sheet. There were burn holes ALL over all of the bedding. The sink leaked after into the floor, there was a dirty used bandaid in the bathroom, around the bottom of toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. We killed two roaches. The light switch in the bathroom looked like someone used the bathroom had it on their hand and got it all over the switch. We try to be cheap when we travel and are just staying one or two nights in a location. But this hotel pushed my limit on being uncomfortable with the cleanliness.

My first room had unclean linens and no working remote for the tv. It took over an hour just to be told the guys uncle wasn't coming to change out my linens. The 2nd room I was moved to was cleaner it smelled better, except there was a lack of towels

To flush the toilet, we had to pick up the tank top and pull the flush chain. The pillow cases were stained including the sheets. The tv remote didn’t work; we worked it manually. Honestly, we paid cheaply and lesson learned. The location however was the best. It was so close to everywhere we needed to go. The housekeeping one man staff was very hospitable and friendly.

Staff was friendly but my room had roaches and no smoke detector and after i asked for one to be put in my room none was put in their after requesting one and i looked up its illegal not to have a smoke detector in a guest room,plus wires were hanging from where the smoke detector should have been,so for future references please advise guest why no smoke detectors were not in their room and also about and pest problems but staff was friendly that's about it

They do not even have ice vending machine. They give ice after you asked. They also do not put the towel more than 2. If you ask for more than to bath towels you need to give them 2 used ones. I never seen that before in my 20 years in the United States

Towels were grayish, bed sheets stained, had to ask for toilet paper, didn’t bother to refill anything. Reserved for 4 people, only placed 2 bath towels. Guessing it was owner or family but had me wait to be assisted while he was on a personal call. Literally had a sign on the counter stating “back in 5 minutes” yet he was sitting right there behind the counter.

The cleaned this property up enough to become an Econo Lodge and never looked back. The staff is terrible. The property has ONE door and three stories of rooms. The rear door is bolted shut. Furniture in the room was old, worn and broken. Window sealed shut. Microwave broken. \"Hot\" water just above cold. Barely enough pressure to shower. Old thin towels. Hot & cold reversed in the sink. Policies at the property DO NOT match what is written here on Hotels. They are not pet friendly and charged me a higher deposit for my service animal which is illegal but I was trapped.

The lobby and hallways reeked of weed, despite a nonsmoking policy. Our room smelled like a boys locker room. The bedding was dirty and had a dead roach. We are sure there was blood throughout the room. The shower curtain was held up with zip ties. Wholes in the walls and overall not well maintained. The walls are paper thin so when other guests were talking it sounded as if they were in our room. We do not recommended this location to anyone.

You definitely get what you pay for with this one which I expected that going in. When a hotel can't/won't even provide the basics such as washcloths, more than two towels, a bath mat, a cheap coffee maker, etc. Won't return to this one. All the staff here are in a perpetual state of grumpiness, too.

Poor water pressure.
Have to ask for ice at the desk, then it is given to you in a small extremely flimsy trash bag.
Sheets were full of holes.
No visitors allowed. If my friend and I wanted to stop by on the way to our event, she couldn't go up to my room with me while I picked up what I forgot and went to the bathroom. She had to wait outside or in the car.

Horrible smell- 1st room they gave me had a horrible smell, doors lock were broken, shower drain was clogged, towels were dingy and had stains, furniture was broken. Second room was a little better but the smell was still there, floor was dirty and the A/C was very loud... I basically rested for a couple of hours and checked out... It was a a breath of fresh air once I walked out of that place... You have been warned !!!!

It was really good. I think the guy at the front desk maybe named Gerald. He was really helpful if we had any issues. Which I only had one. I do drive a car but there were plenty of places within walking distance. Pool looked clean and inviting. Had a good experience visiting San Antonio.

Do not stay at Econo lodge

I experienced the worst visit ever at Econolodge. I ordered a king sized bed and received a full size bed attached to a king size headboard and was told that there was nothing that could be done. Even though my bed was way smaller than what I paid for. My TV didn’t work. The room also had roaches. The staff was also rude and unhelpful. I also included pictures to show my experience.

The manager was excellent but after we returned the next day after leaving town for 2 days the other men that we had worked with where rude and didn't believe that we had one more night set aside with our emotional support animals who have papers and shots up to date
They put us in the worst room and had us up all night with the noise and dirtyness of the room will not return

The manager is a good guy. The other main staff are hit and miss. They most times come off as arrogant and rude. The motel is in a great area, but isn’t as good as it used to be. They like to leave the floor windows open for whatever reason and it makes the rooms so humid that the room A/C units don’t work properly. If you don’t use the website or any of the apps to get a room, you will always be charged a premium at check in. It doesn’t make any sense. I’ve stayed there numerous times over the last couple years and it seems to go downhill more and more with every stay. The floors are nearly always dirty and the bathrooms sometimes take a while for the showers to get hot.

Extremely dirty room and terrible reception. One dirty facecloth that looked used and stiff to the touch), no hand towel. Bathtub had several hairs and on rim and definitely looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile. No shampoo and no hair dryer. Holes in walls - wish I could post the photos. Clerk asked for a $20 cash deposit. I had to ask for a receipt for the cash deposit. Clerk pointed out posted rules on the lobby wall and told me to read the rules. I have never been asked for a cash deposit especially since I paid with a credit card. Hard to believe this motel is part of a chain? The worst motel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a number of motels/hotels. Luckily I did not encountered any 4/6/8 legged creatures coming out of the holes in the walls. I will never return to this motel.

Starting with check-in...the front office staff wanted a $40 cash only deposit or they will not let you check in. Then i was told repeatedly that I could not have pets and I told them a few times that I did not have any. There is an empty pool on the property; my son was looking forward to going into the pool but it looked as if had been drained and there was dirty water on the bottom. There were rags under the vending machines to collect water that had not been changed in probably years. The hallway windows were open to air out the hotel and a smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby and hallways, even though it is supposed to be a non-smoking facility. I thought this was a one-time occurance, but it seems like the various foreign workers that are there are only smoking and drinking on the property. The bathrooms were missing laminate flooring tiles and trim. The rooms look nothing like the pictures in the description. This hotel is in such a nice area of San Antonio it is a shame that it is in such disrepair, I have stayed at many Econo-lodges before but this is such a disgrace for the hotel name. If I was Econo Lodge I would pull them from the chain. I have pictures to prove all the repairs needed and it was such a shame to return to the room everynight. One night the staff took out a buch of junk ans lines it up outside the pool fence, looks like they evicted someone from the hotel. I do not know how the owners tolerate workers of this nature who can care less about cleaning

This place was ridiculous! Very rude staff, drug sales in parking lot and if you need towels… it’s one per person and one hand towel. ( Washcloths are upon request), BUT you must take your dirty towels to the front desk so they can count them before exchanging them for clean. Need ice??? The front desk will give you a bag if you call (enough for 1drink at a time). Need more than 1 bottle of shampoo? Be ready to explain why at the desk.
The microwave was filthy and the refrigerator had a drink or something that had exploded some time ago still dried all over the interior. The TV didn’t work and there was no cold water and the hot was super hot.
The front desk guy was speaking in another language to some woman on his speaker phone when we arrived and the only greeting we received was “Reservation? License?” Not another word to us as he continued his conversation… not even a word to us after tossing the key on the counter with a sticky note with a room number on it. He simply turned his back and kept yapping. The next morning the same man tried to check us out. When we told him we reserved 2 nights, he demanded to see the Expedia confirmation, then advised that we should have verified the details at check-in, even though he had no interest in interacting with us at all. ONLY plus comfy bed.
We would have not stayed if we hadn’t been there for a family emergency and needed the location. Next time we travel through there we will be steering clear of this dive. Creepy people.

Not a good stay for leisure time. They charge you $20 deposit fee and don’t reimburse you. It is very old, smells like cigarettes, the floor creeks. The room blankets semi clean, had stains. Dead roaches on floor. No extra towels.
No complimentary supplies.
No coffee maker.
The location is very secluded from any lighting or stores. It feels like in the middle of nowhere.

If you’re looking for a creepy stay and a cheap night and don’t mind all above. Then by all means it’s good pricing for the low.

I rented a room here and after about an hour I was sitting on the bed and I guess he was a manager just walked into the room stood there telling me on how he was just looking to see if the room was empty and continued to apologize but still stand there staring at me. As a frequent traveler I stay in various hotels in many different cities from high end to low end. I will say after reading some of the reviews I was a little on the edge about staying at this particular hotel so I decided that I would only book for a couple of nights and then move on to something different. Well I can honestly say that the negative reviews must have been from some disgruntled people because I have not encountered any bugs or roaches and the area is populated with people from all walks of life. The front desk clerks are extremely professional and the rooms are comfortable given the price point. I guess there are those that want Ritz Carlton accommodations on a 2-3 star budget. There are a number of different restaurant options and a mall within a couple minutes drive as well as Walmart and HEB grocery store. Public transportation just outside the door for those that need it.

I read there were roaches, but we found none. I read it smelled bad, but it didn't. They aren't a 5 star hotel. If they were, i couldn't have afforded it. The rooms were clean. They were nice and helpful. They were on our budget and we had a wonderful stay. Yeah the halls were hot but, my grandson said he had the best time ever! He is only 6 but... hello? The best time ever? Then that means it was all good!

Rooms were super dirty, no hot water, tv not working. Nothing was mentioned by front desk personnel. Hair all over the room , tub, sink. Food remains on the walls. Staff super rude. They don’t listen to their customers. I left the property the following day booked two rooms for two nights. The dirtiest room was not used and management said they would not refund me. Manager so rude had the audacity to say that we staged the room to look the way it was False advertising they are under econolodge on Expedia and when you get there it says express inn and suites. Do not recommend it and Expedia should do their homework and check the places they work with before advertising them. I called Expedia and they were not able to help me get my refund back. One less customer to Expedia.

The room was very dirty, bathroom was filthy, hair stuck on the shower walls, toilet would not flush properly. TV remote did not work. Overall the place was not very unpleasant to stay. I checked out after only 1 day due to health concerns. Hotel would not prorate nor refund my stay. I insisted that the clerk give a receipt stating a checked out on the 05/29/22. I’m working with my financial institution on trying to get my money funded. Would not recommend stay at this Hotel. Thanks

Classical roach motel, occupied by smelly vagrants dragging grocery shopping carts filled with filthy personal belongings. Service desk people are very friendly and accommodating but the infrastructures are truly decrepit and disgusting. My wife and I decided to cut our stay short after one night and rather drove 4 hours home than stay another night. Truly disgusting locale.

First off, they didn’t give me the room I paid for. I reserved a king luxury room. Yeah. Not what I walked in to. It was a double double. The room was a mess, in the restroom, the toilet and the sink had not been cleaned, it was disgusting. There was a toothbrush still on top in the shower. The beds were badly made and the sheets were disgustingly nasty. The “couch” in the room was a broken desk chair.
It was supposed to be a non smoking area but People we’re not only smoking cigarettes but weed as well.
My husband and I felt very uncomfortable there. We asked for a refund and the guy working there, was not attentive at all, as he was watching a novela or a show and couldn’t take his eyes off his phone to take care of this. So we decided to check out but they would not refund our money. I didn’t want to waste time arguing so I took it as a loss, packed up our car and left. It was supposed to be a two night stay. The worse experience I have ever had. Very disappointed and grossed out. I tried uploading the pictures but apparently they were invalid

The hotel was so dirty and unfriendly staff. While checking in the staff kept rushing us and would give us a receipt took a call from a friend while assisting us. Wouldn’t give us the room key. People next to us had TV on high volume all night and staff did nothing about it, couldn’t sleep. Worst experience of my life.

When arrived to the room, window was open with a marijuana cigar at the window. Ashes all over the floor. TV did not work. There was pee like some missed the toilet completely on the floor. After repeated times of telling the person on duty, no one clean the mess. Wow! Ended having to buy cleaners to clean it up myself because all other hotels were sold out and even expensive ones. Be care with this ghetto hotel. People running it don’t care a bit about customers. P.S. take your own blankets.

Avoid

The beds were nasty. Stains on everything and extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. I would strongly recommend to avoid staying here

It was a nasty ,filthy place ,I checked in because I had no choice ,but when I got inside the room I found it filthy and I don't think they change sheets or clean ,people at the front desk offered to change sheets and clean but I declined because even those people looked filthy ,I felt unsafe ,I walked in and walked out within 10 min

nothing. no glasses in room for water. had to go to vending to get bottle of water. there was roaches in the bathroom and it smelled. dogs barking in one of the rooms at 430 in the morning.

The room was large and decent. Most is not all the furniture hadn't been cleaned lately. Bathtub/shower very dirty and slippery. Pls those things to keep you from slipping. The gentlemen at check in was decent and friendly enough. I was charged a deposit which is standard at these independent motel and I was really almost broke but put the charge on my debit. The clerk told me that the charge would be reversed in the morning, and it wasn't because the overnight guy didn't know how to issue a credit or do he says. I'm sure it'll will be credited back to me. I'd stay there again because the price was good esp for the weekend

Wasn't happy with the room itself. Restroom was dirty had some roaches. People arguing in next room to me up all night hearing banging and yelling in hallway all through 2am. No enough pillows and no bath mat and not enought towels to bathe nor enough washcloths and hand towels. Mold on refrigerator and food left from who knows how long.

Not even worth an hour stay!!!!

This was the worst hotel we have ever seen. We didn’t even stay an hour before leaving. The place is full of mold and dirty. The smell was horrible. We talked to the man in the front and he apologized and said they need to get better at cleaning. Agreed to refund us and we left. After we checked out he told hotels.com that he would not refund us cause he check the room and it as clean. Which was a lie, he never went to check. Photos below the ice bucket had no liner and was full of what looks like throw up!!!!! Photos online are false advertisement!!! Not the room we booked. Staff was a bunch lairs. Hotels.com you need to do better this place should not even an option for any of you members. I want my money back!

I didn’t get to stay. I didn’t even get to my destination. They tried to charge my card before I ever got there despite me checking the pay at location option. They emailed me to say they cancelled my reservation due to not being able to charge my card.

There was electrical issues what the pictures showed was not real. House keeping was non existent we had no clean towels daily trash never picked up supplies not restocked no cups or ice on property
