Extremely filty room, rust and brown water came out of the shower every time it was first turned on, carpet sticky and smelly, half of the lights and the electrical outlets were not working or missing bulbs, air conditioner extremely noisy and did not cool room, all surfaces grimy and dirty. Missing TV remote and refrigerator was not working. Spiders appeared in the bathroom during the night. Several long term guest sit outside their rooms watching you go in and out of room as though they are scooping out that can be stolen. DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE NO MATTER HOW CHEAP IT MAY BE ADVERTISED.

Whole building was neglected and barely standing. The room we were supposed to stay in was severely water damaged and barely held together with a poorly done plaster repair job, there were roaches in the room, and there were dark stains on the mattresses that looked like either dried blood, or dried feces and the smell of mold and rot. There was a disclaimer at the front desk that you had to sign stating that you shouldn't open your door after dark or you'll probably get robbed and that the hotel wasn't responsible for it if you did. There were open oil cans in front of some of the rooms. We did not stay, And do not recommend anyone else stay there either.

This place is trash. The room looked like it was straight out of 1975, the knob for the cold water in the shower fell off, the plug next next to the sink had the Metal prong from a cord hanging out of it, none of the other pluge in the room would hold a cord to charge any of me devices. I would not recommend for anyone too stay here!!

When I entered my room there was a dirty washrag on the bed and a dirty towel on the couch. Only one of the lamps worked out of the four that was there. But for 57.00$ a night what are you to expect. I did sleep well though, so for a cheap stay a place to lay your head for the night it will work. Don't expect much though.

It was a cheap hotel ill give it that. It only cost me $50/night so I knew it wouldnt be high society. When i showed my wife photos she said \"Thats Methed Up\" funny, but true. I found a bag of tobacco in the night stand. Smelled bad, wasnt clean. Every piece of furniture was what most people would put on the side of the road with a sign that says free and nobody would pick it up. This isnt a place where people stay if they have the choice. Its a place to survive hard times. Im not above staying in cheap hotels, but this is the worst I have stayed yet. I didnt feel safe either. No smoke detector surprise surprise and sketchy electricity. Pretty rude front desk person but im sure she is jaded from all the rif raf and complaints. Poor thing

Sink was backed up and half filled with what looked like vomit and water. I reported it and they said they would call maintenance. I returned 4 hours later to find the door wide open, the sink still full of filthy water and plumbing on the floor. On the Northside parking were about 10 men drinking and urinating on the walls behind cars. Further up closer to the office it appeared to be criminal activties happening with what looked like long time residents. I turned in the key and ended up sleeping in my car at a truckstop.

recently stayed at this outdated hotel and was disappointed to find several issues. The walls were covered in mold, and the shower curtain and tub were similarly affected. The management's attempt to conceal holes in the walls with sealant and paint was ineffective. Unfortunately, the hotel attracts an undesirable crowd, creating an unpleasant atmosphere.

To address the mold issues, the hotel could consider implementing better ventilation and cleaning practices. Regularly washing and drying the shower curtain, and ensuring the bathroom is well-ventilated, can help prevent mold growth ¹. Additionally, fixing underlying moisture problems is crucial to preventing mold regrowth

I made reservations for the night and called to be sure that I had a room as we were leaving Houston late in the day because a family member was in the ER and told that he must have A/C. They told me they'd call me back but didn't. When I entered the office I was told \"we have no room\". I said \"I have reservations.\" \"No, we were overbooked so you have no room.\" After being without A/C for two days it was very frustrating.

Terrible Experience - Avoid This Motel!

We were left stranded by this motel after Hurricane Beryl. At 1:00 PM, we called to check for room availability. They promised us a room for my family and me, so we booked it within minutes. We called back immediately to confirm our reservation, and they assured us that we had a room and were all set.

However, when we arrived around 8:00 PM that night, the front desk lady informed us that our booking had been canceled, and they had neglected to call us. All other hotel and motel options within two hours of Houston were fully booked.

Terrible management and communication. No empathy. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

The property is very run down, inside and outside. There were huge bubbles in the ceiling, as if from a water leak. I was terrified they were going to burst. I got ready to go for a swim, walked around to find the pool and discovered it filled in with dirt. The entire area around the pool was surrounded by junker cars and other junk.

The owner of this hotel literally knocked on the door to our room and 1 second later used his key card to unlock our door and literally opened it claiming that he “thought the room was unoccupied”. I had just finished getting dressed minutes before he opened the door. We were shocked that he opened our door as if to come in until I shut the door on his face. He quickly disappeared so when we checked out, I asked the clerk to speak to him to complain and he would not come out to meet us. The place is a dump owned by an unprofessional coward of an owner. Absolutely disgusting and unsafe!!!!!

Comfortable, but seemed old-outlet in bathroom was very loose and sink didn’t drain well. A new coat of paint, new curtains and new couch would be nice. Only the bathroom outlet was easily available. Sink was cracked in 2 places and Handles on bedside table were broken. A few updates would really make a difference

This is an older hotel, and way more affordable than others in the area. The people who work there are super nice, and the room was clean. Complimentary breakfast is offered. It could use fresh paint in the rooms to lighten and brighten, but I was mainly there just to sleep, so I will not complain. I would stay here again.

Stayed there one night during a visit to Brenham. The manager was very friendly. When he found out I was there with my pickleball partner for a tournament, he changed my room so that we would be only one room apart on the same side of the motel. At first we were on opposite sides, and when he noticed this, he suggested the switch. The motel is older, but room was clean and bed was comfortable. I'll would stay there again if I am back that way.

“NOTHING” we got there at 3:30pm our room wasn’t ready, the maid said she could have it done in 5 minutes and she did....... the floor wasn’t vacuumed, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned, hell the bar of soap the last patrons used was still in the shower, the room wasn’t dusted , I had to check to see if she even changed the sheets. Wasn’t sure that she just didn’t make the bed with the old sheets still on the bed. Speaking of the bed the mattress was so old both me and my husband had back issues after sleeping on the bed.
Overall the dirtiest place I have ever been, we listened to quarreling Mexicans from 12am until 4am with screaming and horn honking, needles to say we need to go home to get a clean shower and a goof nights rest.

There was a giant dead cockroach and a dead cranefly in the bathroom. Someone clearly took the time to kill them, but didn't feel like removing them. Despite this, probably due to exhaustion and the fact that we'd already paid, we decided to stay. I went to start a bath for my baby and the water came out brown with dozens of dark flecks, so no bath. That night, there was a fire in a room down the way, so at that point, we just packed up and left. We found a nice room a little ways down for just $20 more. I recommend you do the same, and do it before you waste money on this dump.

Had coffee in room, but no coffee maker. Only 1 accessible outlet. Couldn't take breakfast from dining area. Recommend bringing your own pillows unless you like flat pillows. Sheets were definitely old, but clean. Liked having a couch and table. Freezer part of the fridge didn't work. Bath tub extremely slick! (Luckily there was a handrail).

Three out of 5 lights in the room were burned out, so we could not see well. I needed a wall plug to plug in my CPAP machine, but I did not find one--so I could not use it and had a bad night's sleep. In the morning I found a plug hidden behind the middle of the bed--could not be seen in the dark the night before. Also, the coffee machine was broken. Third, there was not stopper in the tub so I could try to relax with a bath. I asked the next morning, and they said the do not leave them in the room, but they have them in the office. Also, there were shady characters there, so I did not feel safe going to the office after dark to ask about a tub stopper.

Best of the worst

Went for the Round Top Antique Fair and was the only one available around in both Le Grange and Giddings. It definitely is not the nicest but I have stayed in worst in Giddings and this was a lot better. The free breakfast is basically a waffle machine, cereal and milk, toast and bananas but hey it works and it's free. If I had to find a hotel for the Antique Fair and the cheap ones were left than this wouldn't be that bad. Plus it's conveniently located so it works.

The room was pretty clean; however, it was in need of a lot of repair. Curtain was hanging off the track, toilet was leaning, sinks and shower old and outdated, and the bed was hard and uncomfortable, and the coffee pot carafe was too small to brew properly without holding it. The woman who greeted us at the front desk was very nice, but the complementary breakfast was only waffles and cereal, nothing you could take on the go.

This is an old hotel in need of a total remodel.

The hotel is need of a total remodel. When my wife and I first walked into the room we could tell this was not what we expected. The carpet needed to be cleaned, the furnishings are worn out, dirty and outdated. The restroom vanity had been painted several times and was chipping. The toilet paper holder in the wall would not stay in place and you had to hold it in place againest the wall. The dresser that also held the tv was falling apart. There were stains on the walls. We were so uncomfortable that we cut our visit by one day.

The Hotel was run down, It advertised a microwave but there wasn't one. TV remote did not work, had to unplug the TV to it turn it off. Beds were very comfortable and room was clean. Shower head was loose and toilet paper holder can out the wall.. Will choose elsewhere next time.

Last resort...but not a resort!

Bathroom is out of date (tub especially- mildew on broken tiles), grimy dirt on tables, hard beds, questionable linens (not for sure if they were clean), told I could park in the grass on the side of the building, for security- there are chains on the doors, furniture (indoor type) outside in the grass, seem to tailor to the clientele that rent the space on a weekly rate. Breakfast was a joke. There was a bowl of bananas, coffee with generic creamer, three tupperware boxes of cereal with handwritten piece of tape saying it was Cheerios, and a loaf of bread sitting next to the toaster. Pitiful!

Going to Rountop!

Recently stayed at the Knights Inn location in Brenham, Texas. The reason for the stay was due to visiting attractions and sights at the annual Rountop Trade Days. The hotel staff was extremely welcoming and inviting. The room that I stayed in was a non smoking regular bed option. The room was clean and somewhat dated but worked out perfect for my weekend needs. The value for the room would make me stay there again if ever back in town!

This motel should be closed down by the health department. I actually took photos of the filth, torn bedspread, dragging curtains, bare lightbulbs, rusted bath and tub fixtures and broken toilet paper holder. The carpet was disgusting and the sheets tissue paper thin. I am shocked and disappointed and will probably not trust \"ratings\" I see online ever again. I really expected to find out I was on Candid Camera. Dirty, bedraggled, moldy, smelly and scary. I cannot even find words to express my shock.

The room appeared clean and was as advertised. However the room and the hotel seem to be in need of some renovation. Nothing off putting if you just need a place to sleep but chipping paint in the bathroom vent. The staff I ran into was very helpful. The complimentary continental breakfast was a bit uninviting. It looked like the break room for a small office. The first thing you see there is a padlocked fridge and breakfast items spread out across a L-counter. another smaller fridge contained the milk and juice.

I will \"NEVER\" stay at this hotel, nor one like it again. I requested a non-smoking room, I sneezed all night, there was blood on the conforter, the review showed that it was to have a microwave and fridge, no such luck. The couch was spotted with black \"stuff\", the floors were dirty. The worst, was I made me some coffee, after drinking it, it taste funny, when I looked into the part of the pot where you pour the water an old coffee bag was in it and it had \"slimmmmm\" and mold on it. I told the hotel about all of my complaints and they would not refund not even one night. I have photos that I wish I could submit with this review. \" Graphic\" NEVER AGAIN!

good for quick stay

Hotel backs up to a questionable neighborhood. Price is good for what you receive, a bed, tv, slow internet, and very small breakfast choice. All parking is on one side, so if you are on the inside corridor you cannot watch your vehicle. Staff was friendly and I was checked in quickly. No one present when we checked out.

We booked first floor 2 rooms with king size beds day before we arrived I called and confirmed then the day we arrived we were told they had no first floor rooms .we talked with the clerk, manager, and owner the owner told us venders at hotel came first and they were given our rooms.The rooms were dirty 2 lights didn't work , couch was dirty and soiled, frig. Had dryed food on it ice maker didn't work. We will not stay there again.

A Last Resort

Our hotel stay was not a disaster but we did have problems. First, it cannot be driven to directly from the interstate although GPS says it can; you must go around through back streets to get to it. Second, our sheets were not fresh; we found hairs and it was obvious they were slept in. Third, the free breakfast was as streamlined as it could be but was adequate. Fourth, there are no Kleenex tissues, refrigerator, iron, or microwave which most motels have now.
On the plus side, the staff was friendly and accommodating as we needed things. There was lots of parking and was near the town we were going to. The hair dryer and washer-and-dryer were a blessing to have and were clean.
