The room smelled like it was cleaned with old mop water. The carpet felt like water was poured on it and left, which made the whole room smell like soured water. I called the front desk several times, either they didn’t answer the phone or some would tell me that they would come and see but lo and behold no o e would ever showed up. I will never stay at a Days Inn again.

The rooms had a bad smell, and the \"upgraded\" TV did not work. There were no buttons on the TV, and the only control that worked on the remote was the power so I couldn't turn to any station. When I asked for the correct remote, they said that they would bring one. I went to the front desk 3 hours later and gave them the remote to exchange. They said that they would have to get one from a different room and would bring it to me. They never showed up. I asked about it again the next morning when I checked out and they replied that it was after midnight when they finally got it and they didn't want wake me up.

You definitely get what you pay for, but I will be double-checking reviews more carefully from now on. Expedia showed several high ratings, so I’m not sure if we were given the worst room available, but it was a very disappointing experience.

At first glance, the room looked clean when we walked in. However, within seconds, we were hit with a terrible smell—like the room had been cleaned with a dirty rag and old mop water. The odor was overwhelming and seemed like mold.

There was visible mold on the curtains and even on the lamp. The bed sheets were stained and had cigarette burns, the carpet was dirty, and the bathroom was in very poor condition. The shower had what looked like smeared dead bugs, a stain that resembled blood, and the ceiling above it was deteriorating.

The photos online are very misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the room.

I do not recommend staying here. The smell was so bad that we had to turn the AC on very cold just to make it slightly more bearable. I even had to cover my nose with a blanket to sleep because the odor was so strong it burned my nose. It was so persistent that it lingered on one of our plastic bags.

I definitely would’ve stayed somewhere else if I would’ve seen better pictures of the property. Holes in the roof, stains on the towels and bedding, stains of food and drinks on nightstands and the door that separates rooms had a napkin or dryer sheet stuffed in the lock.

Best quality for the price in Waco, been there a few times. Keep expectations down for breakfast but good for the price. Wish they had some kinda juice but waffles, sausage, cereal, small muffins and coffee is fine for the price. Room was clean and kept up for an older hotel. Great bang for your buck.

The second night of my visit, at 11:33 PM in the bathroom I found a roach crawling the wall. I immediately took a phone and video recorded the evidence. I had two my daughters sleeping in a room, which are 3 and 4 years old so couldn’t immediately leave a hotel to find another place to stay in the middle of the night. In the morning right away went to the front desk to address the situation and show the video. I was asking for a refund since those conditions are unacceptable. But the person working at the front desk refused to give me the refund stating that I supposed to leave once the incident happened ! It makes no sense, as it was 11:33PM and my two daughters were sleeping. Unacceptable, inhumane and unprofessional. I would like to get a refund for this terrible experience.

Our stay at the Days Inn in Waco was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. From the moment we arrived, the neighborhood surrounding the property felt very shady and unsafe.

The front desk provided confusing directions on how to find our room, and we had to drive around the property multiple times before locating the correct entryway. Our room was upstairs, and there is no elevator, so we had to carry all of our luggage up two flights of stairs. Access to the upstairs rooms is through a keycard entry, but there is little to no clear guidance on how room numbers correspond to where the upstairs rooms are located.

On the way upstairs, we noticed large gashes/openings in the ceiling, making the building look old and poorly maintained. The hallways smelled strongly of marijuana in the evening, and by the next morning they reeked of cigarettes.

Inside the room, it initially appeared relatively clean, but we quickly noticed stains on the pillows and bed sheets. We also found a roach on the bathroom sink, which was extremely unsettling. After showering, we realized the carpet in the room was sticky when walking on it barefoot, raising serious concerns about cleanliness.

The air conditioner was confusing to operate, and the room was freezing upon arrival. It took us 10–15 minutes to figure out how to get the heat working. The coffee provided in the room was very poor quality, and the bathroom only included the most basic toiletries.

Breakfast was also a major disappointment.

So the lobby was clean, the breakfast options were great, and the room appeared and smelled clean with exception to the bathroom floor which was sticky and had shoe prints, maybe too much soap when mopped? My main issue was the bugs, there were so many little roach looking bugs in the room. They hid when the lights were on but upon arriving back to the room after being gone or upon turning the light on in the morning, there would be little roach looking bugs on the walls, furniture, and even the bed... not how you want to wake up. I was staying for work and when I got to work I found two of the little roach looking bugs hitched a ride in my work bag. I really like the motel and wanted to use it as my regular motel during the week when I'm in Waco for work but the bugs were ridiculous and what I would consider on level with an infestation, at least in the room I was in, because the room appeared clean but they were still there.

So much cleaner used in the room that I felt sick the next day. It smelt like bleach/chlorine. I hate it when hotels/motels do this so much and this was probably the worst I have ever experienced. If you are sensitive to migraines, lung issues, or anything else set off by excessive toxic chemicals I advise you don’t stay here.

Didn’t have clear instructions on how to find out room. Went to the office twice before we found it. Took our luggage and belongings and proceeded inside. First thing I saw was quips on the floor when I looked up neither bed was made. The was beer cans and trash everywhere. We backed out and I called the front desk. She apologized and offered another room which we took and it was good. The breakfast bar wasn’t much. The muffins and bread looked stale.

How is this place still standing?

So much… so so so much was wrong with this stay. I’ll bullet point to be concise.
-Online check-in was moot as I had to do the whole process again at the front desk.
-The option to request a late check-out (that was part of the online check-in) was moot as the clerk said that they don’t offer that.
-The floor had several spots that indicate the sub-flooring was damaged and if not for the carpeting, would end in someone falling through the floor.
-Food trash and a sock under the bed.
-Small bugs throughout the room.
-Bathroom floor has broken tiles that had to be covered as they posed a tripping/cutting hazard.
-Water pressure so hard that it was akin to a pressure washer.
-Bathroom floor flooding less than 30 seconds of running the shower (water bypassing both the shower and floor drains).
-Housekeeping knocking on the door at 10AM when check-out time is 11AM.
-And a litany of other little things that would just seem petty to point out.
Would have left a 0 star review if the app didn’t require at least one.

Very Disappointed!

I'm surprised this hotel is part of the Wydham Family. The property is old and in terrible need of upgrades: the outdoor steps are cracked and a safety hazard, there were no elevators (I have problems with my knees), there is no water available for purchase on the property and the room had roaches. I was terribly dissatisfied but could do nothing as there were no other hotels available in the area for a Baylor visit as this was Family Weekend at Baylor. I would have taken pictures however, I was too busy killing small roaches with my shoe. Like I say above, I'm surprised this is a Wyndham Property, not like the Day's Inn I've stayed in before.

Beware! Expedia has allowed the property to use photos of another property. When my husband and I arrived we were very confused. I didn't know if there was an apartment building next to the hotel because there were men just hanging out drinking outside the steps of what I assume was their room. It was dark already and there were kids still swimming in the pool. The steps to get into the building to get to our room was missing concrete. There was an old smell mixed with a scent trying to mask bad scent. The floors felt old as we walked to our room even though the carpet looked new. The walls looked like just another layer of fresh paint masking underlying issues. The bathroom door hinges were loose. I had to lift the door to get it to close properly. We were supposed to stay two nights, but didnt like it nor did we feel safe so we decided to check out a few hours later. Was told I would only be responsible for 1 night, but am now getting the run around from Expedia and this property on a refund of 1 of my nights since I prepaid. Never going to book through Expedia again! Book this property at your own risk.

Gross, Overpriced Roach Motel

To start, there were two dead cockroaches in our room. The tub has cracks in the bottom, so the water gets through and has rotted out whatever kind of subfloor is beneath it making is squishy. The toilet wouldn’t flush, so we called the front desk. They said they would send someone in five minutes, but they didn’t come for almost eight hours. We went out in the evening and came back to a group of people loitering and drinking beer right outside of our room. We’d had enough so we decided to make the three hour drive home rather than stay another night. All of this for $150 a night.

Sheets were stained. There was only one guy working the desk and he couldn't find the person's reservation in front of us. That kept us in line for a crazy amount of time. Probably took me 30-40 minutes to check in. AC was so loud in my room. Not the normal wall unit loud, but the \"something's broken\" loud. The room was big so at least that.
