Staff were wonderful, so kind. Buffet was different and delicious, amenities for the all inclusive were incredible - crepes, waffles, drinks, snacks! Minibar in the room was a huge plus, refilled everyday! Private pool was lovely, pool beds were comfy! Room is great, aircon fab, shower great, comfy bed with lots of pillows! WiFi was amazing most of the time! Only had issues when it rained. Wonderful hotel, wonderful people, couldn’t recommend enough!

Beautiful hotel, quick transfer from airport and friendly welcome. So lovely to have gifts for the children.
Lovely sea view swim up pool. Clean, beautiful view and nice pool.
Very clean throughout! Staff always willing to help but more staff needed to serve drinks as often long waits. Would have liked waiter service for swim up rooms.
Lots of restaurants and snacks bars. Loved the beach bbq snack bar (kebabs were gorgeous), nice range of Pizza, fantastical waffles & crepier, Pan Asian & Tex Mex our favourite restaurants.
Entertainment was ok, could have been more. Great variety of drinks & loved the Easter Sunday celebrations on the beach. Fantastic to be involved.
Breakfast was good but would have liked more variety of fruit.
Overall had a wonderful holiday. Loved the hotel, would visit again!

This place offers everything you need for a relaxed and chillax holiday. The food options are good if you eat meat. We had some dietary requirements and they chef did his best to meet the expectations.
The evening shows are a good way to entertain yourself. Main pool is not heated, but I am sure in summaries it won’t be required.
Overall accommodation experience was good. We had comfortable beds and fridge was well stocked with drinks both alcoholic and other beverages.
Staff are really courteous and they do look after you really well.
Highly recommend this place if you want to park and enjoy the Greek hospitality along with great views.

Absolutely everything about our stay was first class.

The hotel was exceptional, the food in all restaurants, including buffet was fantastic. So much choice.

The staff were also all wonderful.

We had a superior double sea front with shared private pool and we could not fault anything about it. We even had the delightful Marina bringing us drinks all day around the pool, she was a delight.

We will definitely be coming back. Thank you.

The basics were handled well: the food, snacks, and drinks were GOOD overall, though it can be confusing to figure out which outlet serves what at times. The air conditioning worked reliably and the bedding was comfortable.

However, service and facilities left much to be desired. The shared pool Jacuzzi functions were out of order, and service consistently missed the mark. Food shortages occurred—like a certain item running out at the BBQ station two hours before closing—which is simply unacceptable for this price point. Consistency is an issue: welcome amenities varied drastically depending on who managed the check-in, based on clear observations of other arriving guests.

Charging €20–€35 for late check-out at a supposedly five-star hotel is disappointing, regardless of the amount.

On the culinary side, the Italian à la carte and Steakhouse experiences were good, but the so-called Italian Brunch was a letdown: the menu descriptions did not match the served food, which was BLAND and of poor quality.

Bottom line: for the rates charged, especially compared to other local resorts, these issues are unacceptable and fall farrrrr short of five-star standards.

i would like to state that i am a huge fan of the Mitsis group and have had over 12 stays at their hotels, however this is my first trip to one after covid and a lot has changed. the quality of the food is not great, and even the themed restaurants are serving food which is not good! the Rinela has had a great face lift and the sea is delightful, whilst we were there it was so windy and the life guards were excellent at keeping a watch. the staff in general were ok however the way they run the breakfast and dinner service is not great, you feel as though you are a number to be feed and moved on, not a very luxurious experience in fact the opposite. this may be due to the fact that it was August and the hotel was full. the pizza on the beach was ok, not very tasty and lacking in ingredients. the BBQ would run out everyday of simple things like cheese, hot dogs, lettuce! they also have a tendency to speak in Greek about the guests and as i do speak Greek it was not always very nice! the beach service is very hit and miss, you may get offered a drink and then nothing for the next two days. they just need to sharpen everything up and keep a smile on their faces, after all they are selling themselves as a 5 star hotel. i will never return to the Rinela and i am sad standards have dropped so much. the back office staff try and accommodate you as much as they can but again they are not very careful with their words. i would rate this hotel as a 4 star.

- Some guests are very entitled and selfish. Hotel should find ways to address them as it does impact others. You would see 10 chairs reserved by 1 person for the kid's mini disco, endless sunbeds reserved and not used by midday. Vaping in the restaurant and large group of people being quite loud.
- I had a linen shirt stolen from the drying rack, which is placed outside the room.

A lovely hotel for sure, with some opportunities for improvement to ensure all guests feel comfortable and have equal chances of using all non-private space and facilities.

We stayed at mitsis rinela for a week and everything was perfect. The hotel has an amazing view of the ocean and the beach is beautiful, it literally looks like a beach club with sun mattresses. The staff is also friendly and welcoming, helping us with everything we needed (especially Maria from guest relations!). The food is tasty and the restaurants are definitely worth trying to book. We especially loved the Italian restaurant and every restaurant brought diversity in the food we ate throughout the week. Lastly, the drinks at the lounge bar are delicious and very well made, we stayed and ordered drinks every night of the week. Would definitely come again!!

Lovely property. Excellent swim up rooms and clean hotel with good selection of drinks. Our only honest criticism would be the quality of buffet food and range of Greek food which was lacking. The kids pool is substandard and not to the same quality as the pools and facilities elsewhere. Other than that, we had a lovely time and would still return.

We stayed at Mitsis Rinela to celebrate a milestone birthday and our anniversary and the experience was flawless from start to finish. Having already stayed at another Mitsis in Rhodes, I expected great service, but Rinela somehow exceeded even that.

As vegans, we were especially impressed by how well the resort catered to our dietary needs. From the moment I emailed ahead of our stay, the resort’s in-house nutritionist, Maria, responded promptly and clearly explained our options at every restaurant. When we arrived, she met with us personally to ensure everything was in place and it was.

We were introduced to the Executive Chef, Georgios, and Sous Chef, Ionis, who went out of their way to customise our meals. The service across all à la carte restaurants, cafés, and beach bars was simply incredible. We were constantly offered more food and options — the à la carte dining felt limitless, and every meal left us full and happy. It honestly felt like visiting a beloved grandmother who keeps lovingly feeding you.

The staff were exceptional; always smiling, always helpful. A special thanks to Sha, Magdalini, Kelly, and Eleni, who made every dining experience extra special.

The setting itself is stunning, with a grand pool, private beach, and beautiful architecture — but it’s the people who truly make Mitsis Rinela what it is.

I work for a global travel company and can confidently say this was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world!

This was our 2nd time at Mitsis Rinela after trying a few of the Mitsis properties. The facilities and the sand beach are the main attraction for sure. Everything has been or is being refurbished and the hotel is really beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in an all inclusive resort. Only drawback for us as a couple was the number of kids around but that’s the summer for you. Not much can be done about that.

Lovely property however, if you are expecting 5 star service this isn’t the place. You barely receive table service by the pool so you constantly have to get drinks yourself. Mini fridge was only restocked once, buffet for breakfast and dinner is of very bad quality - you have to book well in advance to get into the restaurants.

However, Staff in the main bar were very lovely and attentive and the Italian restaurant. I would personally rate this hotel a 4 star.

We had a fantastic two-week stay at Mitsis Rinela in summer 2024! From the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a room with access to a shared pool, which really elevated our holiday experience. The room was spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. We especially enjoyed the evening entertainment—it added a lovely touch to our nights and created a great atmosphere around the resort.

The dining options were another highlight. In addition to the main buffet, there were several à la carte restaurants offering a nice variety of cuisines. One thing to note is that these restaurants require advance booking. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware of this at first, so we missed the chance to use our full quota of reservations. It would have been helpful to get a heads-up about that upon arrival.

Overall, though, Mitsis Rinela offered a beautiful and relaxing getaway with great amenities, top-notch service, and memorable moments. We would definitely love to return!

I had a mixed stay for our honeymoon, I found all the dinner and service staff really lovely and the cleaners were really good, however there is a massive negative which really ruined our stay, the air conditioning which was advertised was set to heat mode for the first 5 days of our trip… despite complaining each day and being told it will be fixed tomorrow… it was not changed to cooling mode for 5 days, this really effected our sleep as it was so hot in our roo, they would not move us to a different room and just told us to put up with it… really disappointed by this otherwise I feel it would of been a lovely stay…
Complained afterwards and was not offered any kind of compensation or refund on the stay. Also the area around is not that great I would recommend staying somewhere near chanai.

This hotel has the most stunning setting of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The main pool is especially gorgeous. Their all-inclusive meals were high quality and dining room service was great. Bar service was a little slow during happy hour time. We couldn’t check in until an hour after check-in time which was slightly inconvenient; looking back, it would’ve been helpful to unwind somewhere on the property and get a text when our room was ready. We did get upgraded to a suite with a swim-up pool attached to our terrace, which was lovely. This was a nice place to bring our toddler. It felt family-friendly but sophisticated, too.

For the price we paid, I expected a much better experience. The food was terrible, and the air conditioning in my suite didn’t work. I reported it to staff three times, but no one ever came to check it out.

I upgraded to the family suite, and unfortunately, my sister-in-law, who is half Black, felt extremely disrespected by the staff. They completely ignored her requests to the point that I had to step in and ask on her behalf.

To make things worse, the makeshift bed downstairs had fleas. We later realized that the sliding doors are often left open, allowing stray cats to come in and lay on the couches—we actually saw this happen one night when it rained.

Overall, this stay was disappointing and definitely not worth the money.

Our experience at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional! Having enjoyed several all-inclusive holidays in the past, we can confidently say this one stands out as the best by far.

The variety of food options was simply incredible—there was so much to choose from that we were spoiled for choice! From an abundance of healthy dishes to excellent vegetarian options, every meal was a delight.

Our room was immaculate, chic, and beautifully decorated, with a spacious and modern bathroom that exceeded our expectations. Housekeeping ensured our room was spotless every day, always adding a personal touch with their care and attentiveness.

The restaurants provided top-notch service alongside an impressive selection of dishes. Every meal felt like a special occasion, leaving us consistently impressed.

The hotel’s location by the sea was breathtaking. Sipping expertly crafted cocktails on the beach while enjoying the serene views was an absolute highlight. The pizza and burger station added a fun and convenient touch that we absolutely loved.

If we could give this hotel more than 10 stars, we absolutely would! We're already planning to explore another Mitsis hotel in the future, thanks to this unforgettable experience.

A heartfelt thank-you to the entire team for making our stay so remarkable. If we return to Crete, there’s no question—we’ll be back to stay with you again!

Had the most amazing time at Mitsis Renela. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, I experienced food poisoning on my second time which wasted our evening. The hotel simply asked why I didn’t call for the doctor but I wouldn’t normally think to call a doctor for food poisoning. Although this was very unfortunate, every other aspect of the hotel is great.

Service was average, staff is obviously not really happy. Receptionist had really strange attitude. There is no gym, just outside some kind of TRX hanging from the ceiling and few kettle bells in the room. Room was nice but salty water in the shower. Breakfast: there was not proper Greek teas, even though you are in Greek restaurant. Scrambled eggs very salty, rice hard and salty again. This is not 5 star hotel service.

My stay at Mitsis Rinela was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the incredibly helpful and friendly staff, who went above and beyond to ensure my vacation was perfect.

The rooms were immaculate, with attention to detail in both cleanliness and organization.

Dining at Mitsis Rinela was very nice, although I hope in time they expand the facilities to allow more guests at each mail. The variety of restaurants offered a diverse array of dishes.

The setting of Mitsis Rinela is simply breathtaking. The views were magnificent, particularly the sunrises and sunsets which provided a stunning backdrop for relaxation. The pools were pristine and inviting, perfect for a refreshing dip or lounging in the sun.

Def a good idea to get shared pool swim up rooms. Main hotel pool has limited shade for sun beds. Not all beds have umbrellas. All inclusive is tricky they make it hard for you to access food and drink . Too many queues to make use of all inclusive food and beverage outlets. Service is quite average and quality of food is really lacking.

Everything was great except a frequent sewage smell that would surround our half of the resort that became unbearable at times. But the views and all other accommodations made us look past this minor setback.

The hotel was very clean and well appointed. Freshly stocked mini bar everyday & the staff were very friendly and attentive, always smiling. They gave the impression that they were as happy to be there as us.

Very good choice of freshly cooked food in the buffet and the a la carte restaurants were excellent. Clean pool areas and its own private beach with plenty of sunbeds and parasols & that was cleaned each day and that had a lifeguard too.

Beautiful views and what an awesome sunset!!! The beach area was well taken care off. The sea was magnificent with unbelievable shades of blue colors. We were impressed with the amazing landscape of the facility. The abundance of growing fresh herbs such as mint, blooming sage, rosemary, mixed with summer flowers such as colorful lantana bushes and other perennials and plants.
The staff were always helpful and kind. Service in the restaurants was great! Enjoyed the variety of olive oils fussed with herbs and the availability of different dried herbs in the restaurant. My favorite is was definitely the oregano!!!
The patio entertainment in the evenings was nice. Our suggestion for improvement is for the health of people who don’t smoke the patio is separated to smoking and nonsmoking areas.

Amazing resort and stay, but poor vegan options

This resort is amazing. We stayed in a swim up pool suite which was excellent, very private and quiet and so comfortable. Beach is excellent and the secret bar is brilliant. Would just love it if the hotel made catering for vegans a little easier though. It got exhausting asking for a vegan option all the time, can’t they just have a vegan option at every restaurant as standard? The only restaurant that catered for vegans at lunch is the buffet but the only main option was a greasy foul stew (day and night every day we were here). I found myself walking a round with other vegans piecing together a meal from the salads and dips each day. That said, G in the wine bar was fabulous and made us vegan sushi when we asked and the Captain organised vegan options for us one night in the Italian restaurant (although it felt like a bit of an ordeal to organise it), and the pizza ladies at the beach made a vegan pizza cheerfully if you could get their attention to ask. It would be awesome if when we come back next year that it wasn’t so difficult to get vegan food (and that it was simple, good quality vegan food), because otherwise this place is wonderful.

Hmm.. if we had known adequate??

The hotel is lovely - perfect for a small family as we found alot of other holiday makers were families with small children or babies. However, we paid for a swim up room private pool and didnt get this - just the private pool part which was overlooked by all other hotel users at the main pool (a bit unideal but can be overlooked as we had no sunbed wars). The Biggest let down was that you pay all inclusive and for the 4 nights we stayed we only managed to get into 1 restaurant as we complained (buffet was an option every night but the food was bland). We ended up renting a car for 2 nights so we could leave the area and go to some authentic greek restaurants. We also asked for a late request check out as our flight wasnt until evening (usual checkout 12pm) this was also denied even though you have to pay €50 so they’d be making money?. So with buffet food and requests constantly denied it was disappointing. We had no shower gel in our shower just moisturiser and shampoo so we had to buy some. They do top up your mini bar every day which is great, however our bed sheets were just remade never changed so this wasnt ideal either. Perfect for a short stay but probably wouldnt come back. Felt like an up and coming just built hotel which lacked quality and basic needs/requests. Each bar has a different menu so cant mix your drinks from each and some on there they also cant do either. A STRONG sewer smell quite often too so factoring that into our stay we left the pool often

Eine wunderschöne, moderne Hotelanlage mit super freundlichem Personal (Ritsa in der Mainbar war einfach spitze!). Überall wird man sehr herzlich willkommen geheißen und bestens umsorgt.
Es gibt neben einem großen, sauberen Pool oder gepflegten Strandabschnitt etliche Möglichkeiten den Aufenthalt kulinarisch zu genießen. Auch abends wird man schön unterhalten und kann in die griechische Kultur mit Musik und Tanz eintauchen.
Der Urlaub hat uns so sehr gefallen, dass wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen möchten und dann gerne ein paar Tage länger. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!!

The property decor, design, cleanliness is exquisite. The pools and facilities are excellent. Rooms are spacious, breathable and completed with luxury, quality touch.
It feels like you’re in a little village community. There are lots of families, young, older whom enjoy the hotel, which brings a very calm presence to the property.
The hotel offers a wide range of options. Our personal favourites are then BBQ hut and pizza shack on the private beach. The food is of excellent quality. All enjoyed by an idyllic private beach.
The people working in the hotel are very accommodating and friendly, especially the waiters and waitresses in the main restaurant. They tirelessly work with a smile to help and serve patrons.
One thing which we didn’t like was how long the main restaurant remained open. It’s almost open 24/7 closing an hour for lunch change over, then dinner change over. The hotel doesn’t need to put on such a carousel of food. People should rest and know that like with life, we are not here to gorge and over indulge every second of the day or night.
The food in the main restaurant is also sometimes lacking in quality. However for the large amount of people it caters for, they still produce a very good range of food options.
There can also be a bit of confusion if you are new regarding how the a la carte reservations works. We recommend trying to reserve a few weeks in advance of your holiday as the premium times get booked very quick.
All in all - fantastic hotel!

The hotel was excellent and the staff were faultless - very helpful, friendly and enthusiastic.
Unfortunately the noise from the evening entertainment (up to 11pm) carried to our room. The staff very kindly arranged a room change which significantly helped but there was still some noise. This is the only reason we gave 4* rather than 5*.

The hotel has been recently renovated to a high standard and the vast majority of staff have been fantastic. The bbq, pizza and crepes made fresh to order were all delicious and there was lots of drinks choices at all of the bars. The hotel is clean, our room was lovely with a fantastic view and we had a great time. There were plenty of sun loungers by the pool and on the beach and we never struggled to find somewhere to sit. The bus stop into Heraklion is just outside and the busses are regular and clean.

There are however, a few areas for improvement;
- The lobby bar and main restaurant have not been refurbished and are quite dated, although very clean as the rest of the hotel.
- The food at the buffet was good but quite repetitive, the a la carte restaurants were generally good but we found the Taverna very oily and quite poor.
- Most staff were extremely helpful and polite but a couple were rude, the woman at the pizza place was rude on a couple of occasions.

Very nicely decorated hotel and surrounding gardens and beach area immaculately maintained. Would highly recommend getting the a la carte restaurants booked before you arrive, as they are a cut above the regular buffet restaurant.

My only criticisms is the openness of the balcony areas. It doesn’t feel very private and if you are next to neighbours who smoke, it’s not very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the view. Also the rooms feel a tad on the small side, especially if you have a baby cot set up in the room, feels like perhaps a few pieces of furniture table, sofa (we had two of each in the room) etc could either be removed entirely or replaced with some more storage.

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel this is not the hotel for you. Very unprofessional, understaffed, and inefficient. They just don’t care … plain and simple. Rooms are not very clean … we found glass on the floor and yes you can tell how we found it !! By stepping on it. Restaurants are booked prior to guests checking in which is the weirdest thing I’ve heard or seen. We always go to all inclusive restaurants and they know how to manage their restaurants … not this one. We stayed 7 days and we weren’t able to book a dinner until we complained several times and got really frustrated. We weren’t able to eat at all of them still. This property is not well managed. We paid a lot of money and it’s not worth it at all. If you go with the expectation of a motel type service you will be happy but other than that this is not a 5 star hotel

words can not explain how deceivingly beautiful this place was. It was almost as if every day I peeled back another layer, like an onion. My room was incredible, the food was delicious, and the hospitality from the staff was amazing.
