We stayed here for a wedding at The State Chateau of Hluboka. The room was spacious, breakfast was good (basic), and the grounds were lovely to walk around.

The big negative we experienced was when ordering a taxi at reception to the train station, they had said they ordered a taxi and an older lady turned up in her personal car which was not a metered taxi. We got ripped off and had to dip into the cash reserves as didn’t have the energy or time to argue, it was very disappointing the hotel would do this.

The hotel looks like a castle from outside and it’s proximity to Hlubka castle is amazing. Inside it’s pretty run down. You need to hold shower head im your hands as there is no fixture for it. Pool and jacuzzi area is pretty nice although super out dated. Stuff is nice with one big exception - our waitress in the restaurant was so rude I actually never encountered this type of behaviour anywhere. Food in the restaurant was pretty good although restaurant itself lacks the ambiance. No bar service. (Maybe not available not in high season?). Breakfast was mediocre at the best. The hotel has a big potential however it really lacks in service and facilities.

Hotel will need some kind of reconstruction in near future... Even if it is an historical building. Free parking is more joke than reality, anyhow it is dependent od type of car your are driving, for office of parents car should be OK to park on the edge of the sidewalk near narrow road downhill in winter...

The setting and appearance of this hotel are magical and the town of Hluboka is lovely. We had a deluxe room which overlooked the town and made us feel like royalty. Some of our friends had rooms on the upper level with low ceilings and awkward bathroom configurations so be sure to specify a lower level room if these issues are of concern. Staff is friendly and helpful.

At the top of a steep hill next to the castle, hotel is a faux style C18 building in a quadrangle. Some rooms have limited headroom in places. Room was large with en suite but lacked walk-in shower, otherwise good and comfortable (no A/C)
Alarmed to discover bar closed at 10:00pm exactly (except Sat). Breakfast on the terrace was very good with wide choice of cold and hot foods, coffee, juices etc. Parking is nearby as you can find it with ticket passes supplied by hotel. Next door castle is worth a tour, but a bit faux in comparison with French Chateaux or German Schloss- best viewed from a distance. Town below nice if a bit touristy, beyond that fantastic sports facilities for all types.

Not good, not terrible…

Overall it was OK, but we encountered several issues.
1. Wifi didn’t work in our room at all
2. Condition of the room and hotel itself was not good. Furniture, beds was worn and paint on the walls was peeling off.
3. Water in the indoor pool was cold, even in hot tub was freaking cold.
4. Meals in the hotel restaurant “Erb”, were so spicy, that I was not able to taste the tomato soup.
On the other hand, staff was extraordinary kind and friendly.

Another amazing family stay in this lovely hotel. The only disappointment was very small choice of food in restaurant for vegans or those with allergies. For example only lactose-free milk for breakfast but no vegan option...which was available last year....hopefully that can be addressed easily, as otherwise very friendly and helpful stuff...would definitely recommend and will be returning....

Great castle stay!

We stayed at the hotel for one night and enjoyed it very much. A big castle right next to Hluboká castle, very nice, clean and spacious rooms (deluxe room), beautiful court in the middle of the hotel and great views of the lakes and the town. Friendly staff and street parking was fine (make sure you display your ticket on the dashboard). The wellness centre was good and relaxing. Well-thought decoration everywhere; with the exception of the dining room / restaurant, with white bright led lights that made dining a bit uncomfortable. The only issue we had was with the restaurant options which were limited and the food wasn’t great, the pasta was very greasy and the mashed potatoes were too salty. The snack menu was better.

The hotel definitely has amazing location and beautiful chateau-like character that makes the experience special.
Big disappointment was internet (very poor WiFi), and wellness area (only gym, a tiny pool and a hot tub with working air but not jets).
Sauna must be booked and paid for separately.
Tiles in our bathroom were showing signs of mold.
We were also little concerned about cleanliness of the tub as we found a clear razor cover sitting on the side of the tub (easy to not notice it but hard to miss during the actual cleaning process).
We stayed in a small suite, and overall it was a pleasant experience for one night but don’t think we would go back.

Close to the famous Hluboka nad Vltavou castle, the hotel provides the guests with free access to spa (jacuzzi, swimming pool, etc.) as well with bathrobes and slippers you can use, which you find in your room's wardorbes. Strongly recommending to pack in your bags swimming slippers should you plan a visit to the spa.
Breakfast offer is great as it ranges from cereals, freshly made omelettes on spot, cold cuts, fruit, veggies, etc.
Free parking is a plus as well.
The attic rooms are a bit tricky for tall people.
On a bit of downside, there is lack of safe boxes within the room, though we felt safe all the time during our stay.

Book some other wellness hotel in the town center instead, hotel Diamant or Pod Hradem both looked fine. Hotel Štekl is not a good value for money and we disliked more things about the hotel than we liked. We stayed in a classic double room located on the ground floor for 3 nights. The room looked nice but it lacked some basic maintenance and there was no kettle/coffee maker which we consider to be a standard at 4 star hotels. WiFi connection was extremely poor in the room and often disappeared completely. So, we had to use our own mobile data instead. This is unacceptable at a 4 star hotel. WiFi connection is essential and should be working. The gym definitely needs some maintenance. There were rusty dumbbells and even broken squeaky machines. There was no water fountain in the gym. We liked the hotel’s interior design and decoration but again we quickly noticed areas in need of cleaning and maintenance. The spa center is nice but rather small. We had free access, just like other guests, so it got quickly full at times. It only feels relaxing when there’re few guests using the spa facilities. We used a steam room every day and every day the light in it did not work. Temperature in the small swimming pool was different every day; sometimes way too cold for us to use it. There were stains on the ceiling in the spa center which might have been mould. Another major problem was noise inside the hotel. We could very easily hear other guests walking around and even talking.

I asked for extra pillows in the room, did not get them, and there is minor water damage in the bathroom ceiling that needs some repair, over all the staff was very friendly and helpful, the amenities are great. The room was very nice. We did ask for a sofa bed and double bed, and got a roll out that was very noisy and not comfortable for my teen age grandson.

Favorite place we stayed in Europe

This was my favorite place in Europe we stayed. The hotel is part of the adjoining castle (used to be admin building, kennel and horse stall) and the decor is fashioned as such. You feel like you're in a early 20th century castle. There's a great spa, bowling alley, sauna, and pool in the basement. Just outside is the castle with a large nature park for walking. The town is small but quaint. We ended up staying a 2nd night because we liked the place so much.

Room Near a Castle

The hotel is at the top of a hill and you have to wind through a small village to find it. Once you're there, you can park along one side of the road (free) or in a designated parking area (surcharge). We waited in the reception area for a while until a staff member returned and gave us the key to our room. The rooms are not in the castle itself, but very nearby. The room was nice and decent-sized. It had a small desk and sitting area. The pleasant surprise was the activities area, which has a pool, hot tub, bowling alley, weight room, and golf simulator - which my husband took advantage of (surcharge) before breakfast. The breakfast was nice and had a good assortment. You can walk to the castle, which is closed in the evenings, but open during the day. I believe you can pay for a tour of the inside, but we stayed in the courtyard and gardens.

A Fairytale Hotel!

Great find! An amazing hotel when going to visit Cesky Krumlov. And, when staying here, you are already in one of the sights to see in the area, the Hluboka Castle. I only wish we stayed here longer. The rooms were extra spacious (especially being in Europe), have a spa/wellness area with indoor pool and jacuzzi, indoor two lane bowling alley, and a golf simulator. The property also has its golf course. The hotel also sits in a large national educational park, used to be the hunting grounds of the nobles. THIS is an amazing! We travel with children (ages 12 and 4) and they kept thanking us for how great this place is! They declared it their favorite hotel ever! (and we've been in quite a few!)

Grand Hotel with a view

We booked the Stekl for a family trip (four rooms) where we exploring the surrounding area for family roots. The Hotel gave us a great experience of Czech outside of the big city and a good base for exploration. The steam room and whirlpool were a big hit with all as well as the great location on a high ridge next to the \"palace\" grounds. Some great places for a walk and the walk into town to explore local restaurants was enjoyed by all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had read a review that was not very complimentary of the breakfast - our experience was very positive and everyone enjoyed the breakfast and all were very positive about their rooms which had space to site and visit and plan our days together.

Besonderer Aufenthalt im Grünen, unmittelbar beim Märchenschloss Hluboka. Aufmerksames, zuvorkommendes Personal verwöhnt mit kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten und betreut ihre Gäste zur Zufriedenheit aller anwesenden Personen. Das Haus versprüht eine familiäre Gemütlichkeit die ihresgleichen sucht und geizt nicht mit einem besonderem Charme. Noch dazu ist ein schöner Wellnessbereich, ua mit Dampfkammer, vorhanden. Das augenscheinlich schon ältere Mobiliar im Zimmer kann den besonderen Charme dieses Hauses in keinster Weise trüben. Das Essen im hauseigenen Restaurant war wunderschön angerichtet und schmeckte hervorragend. Das nahe Budweis ist in maximal 15 Autominuten zu erreichen. Wir waren sehr beeindruckt von dem besonderen Charme des Hotel Štekl und werden mit Sicherheit sehr gerne wieder kommen!

Märchenhafter Aufenthalt

Es war unser erster Aufenthalt im Hotel Stekl und sicher nicht unser letzter, denn wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir kamen vor der üblichen Eincheck Zeit dort an und wurden herzlich empfangen und durften auch sofort auf das Zimmer.

Wir haben die Suite gebucht und diese ließ keine Wünsche offen. Weil wir unseren Hochzeitstag und zudem noch meinen Geburtstag im Hotel verbrachten, hatte ich vorab Rosen bestellt. Diese standen dann wie vereinbart (in bester Qualität und superfrisch) am Tisch im Restaurant.

Dort aßen wir hervorragend zu Abend und kamen kulinarisch auf unsere Kosten. Die Portionen waren reichhaltig und delikat. Ohne 'Kosten' waren wohl die abendlichen Getränke, denn bei Durchsicht der Hotelrechnung fand ich diese nicht aufgeführt.

Danke an dieser Stelle nochmal für die Einladung und die tolle Aufmerksamkeit zu unserem Jubiläum. Wir reisten mit großem Hund an und auch das war kein Problem, er durfte mit ins Restaurant. (Er ist schon alt und auch sehr lieb).

Wir können das Hotel ohne Vorbehalt weiterempfehlen und werden sicher wieder einen Aufenthalt einplanen. Da wir wegen Erkältung leider den Welnessbereich nicht nutzen konnten, werden wir das später nachholen.

Fazit: Freundlicher und perfekter Service, wie man es sich wünscht. Wundervolles Haus mit Geschichte und Flair. Romantische und märchenhafte Umgebung. Von uns 1 Plus!!!

Fürstlich logieren - zu bürgerlichen Preisen

Allein die Location ist eine Reise wert! Da logieren, wo andere zu Besuch kommen. Die Dependance des Schlosses beherbergt ein stilvolles Hotel, das nicht nur einen grosszügigen Wellness-Bereich bietet sondern auch ein hervorragendes Restaurant, dessen Besuch sich wirklich lohnt. Die Zimmer sind sehr grosszügig und bequem eingerichtet (wer aber antikes Mobiliar erwartet, der wird enttäuscht werden, denn es sind \"bloss\" Stilmöbel). Das Hotel ist sehr familienfreundlich - mit allen Vor- und Nachteilen.

Vi fik et fuldstændig fantastisk flot værelse.
Kæmpe stor og kæmpe badeværelse. Intet at klage på.
Morgenmad der var hvad der skulle være, ikke mere end det.
Restauranten var fin, men de var meget langsomme, udvalget ikke så stort. Vi så flere gå efter de havde set menukortet, nogle gik, da de ikke gad vente længere.
Nede i byen var der flere gode restauranter, med god og hurtig service, så det var nok der folk gik ned.
Men selve hotellet var der ikke noget at klage over.

Affordable luxury in a perfect castle hotel

Fabolous hotel with great service. We felt like kings in our gorgeous double room, which in any other place would have been called a suite. Super service all through the hotel, the library bar and the ambitious restaurant. The breakfast also lived up to the same high standards, with a chef cooking up egg dishes before you. Though technically the hotel is not part of the actual hluboka Castle, it is situated on it's grounds, and you still very much feel that you are living in a Castle. Amazing place.

We’ll do so, but we are really disappointed as nobody told us beforehand that the use comes with an extra fee. We really loved this place, but in this case we will look out for a place in the city centre next time.

Very beautiful hotel with pictoresque surroundings! Rooms were nice with basic amenities. The tv was rather small and only showed czech programs. Although there was Netflix, but since the tv hadn’t been connected to WiFi(which the hotel had in every room), it did’nt work. Polite staff. Every restaurant in the town closes before 22 o’clock, also no food available in the hotel after that. So, remember to go to dinner on time! :)

Romantischer Aufenthalt neben dem Schloss Hluboka

Sehr positiv war der Besuch der Sauna und des privaten Whirlpools sowie des Indoor Golf-Simulators. Die Dame dort war sehr freundlich und bemüht.
Beim Frühstück am Donnerstag hätte man noch frische Sachen (Eier) nachlegen können um 9:20, ansonsten war es wie gewohnt gut. Wunderschön ist das Frühstück im Freien neben dem Springbrunnen.
Abends haben wir nur etwas getrunken. Die Getränkequalität war sehr gut (OMG Gin), das Bier wäre aber besser wie üblich in 0,5 anstatt nur 0,4.
Leider wurde uns der falsche Preis für die Nutzung des Whirlpools&Sauna berechnet und wir mussten uns nach der Klärung nochmals anstellen, um eine Gutschrift dafür zu erhalten. Hier sollte man rasch reagieren und den Gast nicht nochmals 20 Minuten warten lassen (wir hatten davor schon gewartet und es war ja nicht unser Fehler).
Bei den Zimmern sollten die Bäder wieder mal renoviert werden.

Romantická Hluboká

Hotel jsme navštívili podruhé a byli jsme opět nadšeni a možná ještě více. Měli jsme krásný pokoj, personál milý a celkový dojem úžasný. Budeme sem rádi jezdit každý rok. Je to naše srdcovka!

Loved the place, it's incredibly close to the castle and the hotel itself looks like a castle straight from Disneyland. The staff is quite nice and the restaurant has good offers for decent prices. Only had a couple hiccups with the room cleanliness when we arrived but it was not too troublesome. Also note the parking included is outside, the indoor parking is paid. Would definitely recommend the place for a romantic weekend, it was really gorgeous!

좋아요 추천~~ 조식 맛있음

1박 묵었는데 성이랑 왕 가까운 점이 제일 좋아요! 버스 정류장하고도 그렇게 안 멀었던 거 같고요

조식 뷔페 진짜 맛있고 종류도 생각보다 많았어요. 전 혼자 가서 직원들이 좀 쳐다본 거만 빼면 맛있게 잘 먹었어요. 특히 오믈렛을 금방금방 만들어 주는 데 맛있어요.

방은 그냥 딱 깨끗하고 침구도 아주 깨끗하고 좋아요. 다만 욕실이 좀 앤틱을 넘어선 수준이긴 한데 그래도 수압 적당하고 물 온도 조절도 잘 돼요. 욕조도 깨끗해서 잘 썼어요.

깨끗하고 넓직하고 가격 생각하면 딱 적절한 거 같아요. 엄청 가성비가 좋다거나 하진 않지만 그냥 돈 낸 만큼 서비스 받는 느낌?? 추천 비추천중에는 추천이요~

Beutiful place

Beautiful hotel, nice location and atmsophere. The receptionsts could be more friendly, smiling and more enthusiastic abour their job. I was suprised that 4 stars hotel had problem with bulb, lamp plug and when I look under bed was quite dirty. The welness zone and workers there were excellent, breakfast and stuff around there also.

Wir haben in dem Hotel eine Woche (7 Tage) in einem \"gehobenen\" Apartment mit 2 Zimmer verbracht.

Das Hotel:
- Lage ist gut
- Personal nicht sehr freundlich
- Das Zimmer ist zwar schön, aber sehr alt, es regnet rein und Lack vom Boden löst sich ab und liegt überall herum
- Das Bad wird sehr schlecht bzw. gar nicht gereinigt!!!
- Das Frühstück war zwar gut, aber jeden Tag genau dasselbe. (langweilig)

Der eigentliche Hammer kam am Tag der Abreise. Da müssten wir auf einmal 120 Euro für das Bett bezahlen obwohl wir ja für 4 Personen gebucht haben und das wahr nirgendwo erwähnt.

- Wellness Bereich gibt es im Hotel auch (war bei uns im Preis inbegriffen), war aber genau so wie das Frühstück - langweilig.

- Keiner im ganzen Hotel hat Deutsch gesprochen.. Das ist an sich kein Problem, ist mir jedoch in Tschechien noch nie passiert.

- WLAN Verbindung ist sehr schwach und konnte leider nicht genutzt werden. Den besten Empfang gab's im Schrank, welcher eine weitere Ausgangstür verdecken sollte...das ist nicht sehr praktisch.

Fazit: Für eine Nacht bzw. eine Überraschung reicht das Hotel. Preis/Leistung stimmt jedoch aus meiner Sicht nicht und dieses Hotel ist meilenweit von 4 Sternen entfernt.

Příjemný personál, dobré wellness. Snídaně obsahuje vše, co je potřeba, akorát u 4* hotelu bych očekával lepší vajíčka, než \"3\" z Polska. Jinak jídlo OK.

Horší je WiFi - ve spodním podlaží funguje jen pokud sedíte přímo u routeru, na pokojích bez šance. Doporučil bych jednu síť a její signál roznášet po hotelu, a ne, že v jednom místě se připojuji na síť 01, pak 04, pak 11. Tenhle systém je k prdu.

Na pokoji rozbitý háček na kabáty a ulomený kus dveřního prahu - opět, u 4* bych očekával více …

Celkově - snížil bych počet hvězd na tři, pak je to víc než dobré :-)

Schöne Lokation. Die Zimmer sind mal was anderes wie gewohnt. Mit dem Wellness Bereich leider etwas enttäuscht auf den Bildern sieht alles viel größer aus.

Krasne okoli zamku Hluboka. Hotel hezky a udrzovany. Ovsem cene neodpovida. Snidane prumerna. Postele oddelene, nepohodlne. Chladne prostory.

Déçu, besoin d'une bonne rénovation

L'hôtel est magnifique de l'extérieur. Le wellness est nouveau et très bien.
Mais le reste !
Tout l'hôtel a besoin d'une grosse rénovation. On est loin des 4 étoiles annoncées.
Salle de bain d'une autre époque avec le plafond détruit par l'humidité.
Les lits sont trop mous.
Le petit déjeuner pas terrible et il n'y a déjà plus rien à 9h45 alors qu'il se termine à 10h.
Conseil : aller dans les restaurants du centre du village, ils sont excellents.
L'endroit est superbe avec le château.
On a aussi vu d'autres chambres sinistres et avec une vitre cassée.
Des touristes chinois ont refusé de la prendre...

고성호텔입니다. 전반적으로 찾기쉽고 편안합니다. 단 중국단체 패키지가 많이와서 시끌벅적합니다.
모든면에서 만족하고..
주차는 입구오늘길쪽으로 주차가 가능합니다. 호텔에서 자기들 주차증을 주고 안내해주니 불편한건하니없이 주차할수 있습니다.
동내아래 내려가시면 음악회도 하니까 꼭 한번씩 보세요
