We were on the Hurtigruten Coastal Exress heading south when we learned that our ticket departing Bergen the next day had been cancelled. We scrambled to find alternate arrangements which led us to stay at the Noreg…we booked about 3 hours before arrival in Allesund at 1 am! As our flight left before 10 am, we didn’t get much time there. I didn’t really notice the condition or cleanliness, otherwise I would have given 5 stars all around. I did notice the great staff (night manager and the person running the breakfast). Both were very helpful, and gave us advice as needed while maintaining a cheerful professionalism. Breakfast was amazing!!

I also loved the hotel art, particularly the Miro. Altogether a great choice, despite the short stay.

I read some negative reviews of this place and I have no idea why anyone would rate this place poorly. It is excellent accommodations. Great breakfast. The only negative is that the ad says something about a bar and lounge - uh - no. There is a little bar by the reservation desk with a couple of chairs but that’s it. All in all a great place to stay.

I stayed for one night and overall the hotel itself was comfortable. However, I had a disappointing experience during breakfast. I was not able to finish my meal and wrapped a small sandwich to leave on the table.

A staff member approached me in a very unfriendly manner, raising her voice and treating me as though I was doing something wrong. She insisted on charging me for a box, which I agreed to, but her tone was unnecessarily rude.

Later, while I was still eating, she came again and took my plate away without asking.

I understand hotels may have policies about food during breakfast, but the way this situation was handled felt disrespectful and unprofessional.
Better communication and more courteous service would make a big difference.

Great hotel with a great location

This hotel has a perfect location, with grocery, restaurants, transportation and central parts of Ålesund in immediate vicinity. The breakfast was tasty and have a bit of everything. The staff so friendly and service minded, and there is a good standard on the rooms. Confortable, clean, convenient, and at reasonable prices. I will be sure to come back one day. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful hotel! The beds were the most comfortable I have experienced in all of Norway. Loved the large family room- especially the blackout curtains and the free coffee/ hot chocolate was a nice welcome. Walkable to the downtown area and tons of gorgeous restaurants. On street parking was easy and not too expensive. Only picky complaint is that the shower was so small (the bathroom itself is huge). Would definitely stay again!

Excellent location when traveling by ferry, less than a 5 minute walk to terminal. Very welcoming staff at reception, dining and housekeeping. Excellent breakfast options. 24 hour coffee/tea/hot chocolate available and much appreciated.

Perfect location in Ålesund

Hotel Noreg is in a great location in Ålesund. We found it was easy walking to the Havila ferry terminal, shopping, bus stop, restaurants, and the harbor. The rooms and common areas are clean and comfortable. The breakfast has many options and runs for several hours so there is no need to rush. Most importantly the staff is kind and very helpful. We booked two rooms for one night on our arrival and then booked two rooms for 3 nights on our departure. Both stays were excellent.

I stayed for 2 nights, on 2 different days. Breakfast was excellent, wide variety. Second night I heard a dog barking, not sure if the hotel was pet friendly. Close by the waterfront. Paid parking from 8-4pm, but you could only pay 2 hrs max which is odd. Checkout is 12 pm, but bc you can only park for 2 hrs , I had to checkout at 10am.

Got in late and left early, but everything was fine. Parking wasn't straightforward as the nearest garage is several blocks away but not the end of the world. Breakfast was nice.

We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice and comfortable it was. Plenty of room, good amenities, very clean, staff friendly and helpful, and great location. We definitely will choose Noreg when next we visit.

Helt greit. Variabel hjelpsomhet på de ansatte. Fra å strekke seg utover det som er forventet, til å ikke gjøre minimum. Jevnt over ganske greit. Hotellrommet hadde enkelte støvete områder.
