We were delighted to be back again in the Grand Hotel - the renovations have made such a massive difference to the quality of a stay there. From the beautiful bedrooms to the gorgeous lobby (which really is Grand now!) to the delicious food, everything is 5 stars!

Whether it is to celebrate a Big Birthday (we brought our family there for my 70th) or a cosy 24 hour break for ourselves, the Grand is a winner!

Hotel is being renovated atm but this did not affect our stay at all. Beautiful location, great size of room, spotlessly clean. Most enjoyable spa.

Dinner was horrible. Wait staff was almost non existent. 20 minutes for drinks. The breaded fish was all batter, tiny fish. The breaded chicken was too much batter, minimal chicken & DRY. STEVEN our waiter never returned to check on us or see if we needed anything. Very bad experience.
On a pisitive note the bartender in the bar in the back was lovely. She was very attentive and kind. She made us feel welcome and she was fun to chat with. Everyone at the bar enjoyed her and we had a good time.

We enjoyed our stay at this well-located hotel in Malahide. The room was very clean and comfortable (our only quibble was that the pillows were not as comfortable as the bed.) The breakfast buffet is very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'll stay here again the next time we're in Malahide.

Our stay at the Grand hotel on New Years eve was great. Our room was very nice and the upgrade very welcome. Thr hotrl was decorated lovely for Christmas and there was a hood atmosphere for New Years eve. The breakfast however was nice a good selection but the cooked breakfast was not warm, eggs were very over cooked and everythong else cool and rubbery.

When we booked this room it was for 3 people on your website. When we arrived hotel told us only booked for 2 at your end which was very disappointing and we had to pay extra for our daughter. Would be very reluctant to use your site again as it was very misleading information.

I’ve always loved The Grand and have been staying there for over 20 years.
The updated rooms with Dyson hairdryer, Nespresso Coffee machine and large walk-in shower are a lovely addition. The rooms have all had a refreshing makeover. I intend to keep going for another 20 years +.

We have stayed at The Grand on a number of occasions and always enjoyed the ambience - including the friendliness of the staff. However ...

We generally book the same type of room - the 'superior' twin or double - but there was no doubt that the space in our room last week was significantly less that that of the room we were allocated in July - so we were slightly disappointed. The room did feel a little cramped - partly because of the extra bed - which we had no need of.

Two of the staff on reception were not at all welcoming infact quite dismissive.
My main complaint was the lack of GF ( none) in the bar area and yet they had GF beer ?
We ate in the main restaurant and the food was very good with GF options and the head waitress in the restaurant was excellent both at dinner and breakfast

Everything was great, it's a beautiful hotel in a very picturesque area. The only negative comment I have concerns some of the food in the restaurant. I had a fish dish, sea bream, which was a bit tasteless and had quite a few bones in it. Considering the prices It was disappointing and I didn't enjoy it very much. I would certainly stay there again but wouldn't eat the restaurant. However the bar food the evening before was excellent

Our room on both mornings had no hot water and the radiator in bedroom didn’t work. The fan in bathroom did not work either. All was reported at time.

I was going to the Steelers game in Dublin and chose to stay outside the city for a bit of quiet in the evenings. Great choice! Easy trip in (from the train stop a few blocks away). I especially enjoyed the bars and restaurants in the hotel. It's a lovely place!

We stayed here for a week. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and the area was nice. We took taxi’s into Dublin for activities each day, during low traffic times the fee was reasonable but during high traffic times it can cost up to about $50 US. Taxi drivers always arrived early like 15-25 minutes but are always willing to wait.

Love the location and the setting of the hotel! It has a lovely bar where we enjoyed a light bite while watching the Ryder Cup. Breakfast was great as was the view of the water from the dining room. The room was comfortable, and spacious. Wish we had more time to spend there! It was also very convenient to the airport.

Love the new decor but the room was too hot even in Sept and the fan didn’t cool it( no a/c). Also the round about way to get to a room on floor 5 required a map and 2 elevators or stairs and an elevator, very confusing ( had to help about 5 people in the hall find the way during my short stay) and inconvenient. Some of the food could be better.

The Grand Hotel is an easy walk to the Railway Station, Malahide village and the Malahide Castle and gardens. The hotel is in the Grand Style of yesteryear with many updates. The ocean and sand dunes and beach walk is just outside the hotel. Great area to walk around in. Many guests played golf on the Malahide golf course. Malahide village has a great selection of good restaurants. Bus from the airport stopped outside the hotel.

Also had a great view of the water, boats, and sunrise was my bedroom window. Check-in & check-out was quick and easy just like making the reservation online. We had a wonderful experience at the Grand Hotel.
The hotel lives up to its name – elegant, welcoming, and beautifully located right on the seafront. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

The staff were warm, professional, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and the bar and restaurant offered delicious meals with a lovely atmosphere.

There is NO AIR CONDITIONING. (We stayed in August).
That being said, I’m giving 5 stars because the staff was incredible, gave us fans, opened windows where able. I’m surprised with the beautiful renovations that A/C was not installed. There are some hot days in Summer time.

I will not hesitate to stay at the Grand again. Although quickly walkable into town a long block away, it’s far enough to be quiet and the coastal location is breathtaking.

This hotel is a living museum of history going back to King Henry VIII, Anne Bolelyn, Queen Elizabeth I. Not just historic but conveniently situated near Heathrow Airport it has become my regular stay over place before my next trip. The staff and amenities are excellent. The food selection is delicious! The cocktails unique. Highly recommend this hotel.

This property was under heavy construction, which I didn’t know about when I booked. It was very affordable, and I really it will probably be way out of my price range when it’s done. The hammering went until 10 PM, the elevator didn’t work, and there was a hole where a (much needed) refrigerator would have been in the room. But it was really nice, in a great neighborhood.

Great location within the beautiful town of Malahide. The town is endowed with many nice restaurants and has a beautiful promenade on the bay. Hotel is in the center of town and has its own drinking and dining options. Renovations were almost complete during our stay.

Check in was very poor. No information provided at all about the hotel, no information on spa, breakfast times - just given the key card. Hotel was in state of renovation so multiple areas, including one of the main bar areas was not available - this was not made clear at point of booking or any discount provided as a result. Areas that were open were very busy as a result. Poor room, air conditioning units right outside window, could hear drains every time adjacent room flushed their toilets. Breakfast disappointing for the cost, buffet only, over-cooked - no options for cooked to order food which was expected. Over all, very disappointed and will not return.

It's a nice property with a great location. No complaints with our room. Loads of places to walk for entertainment and a meal. There was confusion with our reservation and we never fully resolved. BEFORE YOU BOOK A STAY HERE - read your reservation details CAREFULLY. They aren't flexible if there is any kind of issue. I booked through Expedia and they were of no help resolving.
