We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms are small but the beds are super comfortable with nice down duvets and beautiful pillows! The breakfast is wonderful and the staff helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.

I guess typical to many hotels in Zurich, there was NO air condition. It was miserable to sleep and the street noise did not help. The facility would be otherwise fine but on days in the upper 80 the room get pretty warm.

Cute hotel that is located in a safe and quiet area. You can easily walk to the market, restaurants, and tram/bus station. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast option was great as everything tasted fresh and amazing. only thing, no ac but has a fan so during hot summer days it can get really hot. Otherwise highly recommend!

Seegarten is a terrific property, really well located on a quiet road walkable to Zurich's famous lake. We loved the charm of the property, pleasant decor and our room (24) was spacious with 2 windows. The only down side is the noise that comes from the floors above and in the corridors (when the housekeeping team are up and doing their thing) it seems very unpleasant to be able to hear this especially early on a Sunday morning.

The breakfast was unfortunately very underwhelming. Apart from the tea/coffees and juices on offer everything else was very basic. I suffer from dairy and gluten allergy so you can imagine I could literally eat nothing. We were also surprised by the rations – 1 boiled egg per person, as if this was a diet camp! We tried ordering different types of eggs but I don't think the property could accommodate this. I think the property could do with an entire menu change – especially if they want to pull in Zurich's local crowd!

Service was attentive – what we'd expect from a boutique property.

The restaurant was not open. The breakfast was not as nice as I had imagined and definitely not what it looked like online. The room was very warm and I could not get a fan. In the mornings when it would be cooler there was no heat which made the room very cold. The room was very small and outdated. No room service. The gentleman at the counter was always very friendly and helpful though which, was very nice. I would probably not stay here again.

Nice area, convenient to transportation, great breakfast. No swimming pool or airport shuttle as described on the website. There is a swimming area down the street in the lake and the hotel has 2 tickets they will give you to enter. I Called in advance for the shuttle and they said there was none, so I took the S16 to Stadlhofen then walk 1 street to Opernhaus take the T4 1 stop to Kreuzstrasse the hotel is about a block away. Otherwise nice stay, I would stay here gain. Very convenient to the opera house. Friendly staff. Easy to get to the old town. If they offer a free zurich card on a long weekend that would be a great deal.

A dangerous shower situation, no air conditioning

No air conditioning and room was very hot.
Room 47 had a dangerous shower and I slipped, a tile step up, a step down and a shiny floor on shower. No shower mat. I hit my head on step as I slid backwards. 3 weeks later I have been in and out of hospitals with bleeding on my brain. Nobody on duty after 11 p.m. as I single I was provided with only one hand and one bath towel. Had I had more towels I might have avoided falling and hitting my head

Nice affordable hotel near to lake and transport

It was a very nice hotel in a good suburban location, convenient for public transport and the lake shore. Staff were great and the breakfasts sumptuous, more than enough to satisfy.

My only issue was that i arrived after midnight because my flight had been severely delayed and had no way to contact the hotel. So I was unable to get in, i range the night bell but to no avail, after 30 minutes (which felt like hours) I was saved only by a hotel staff member passing by, walking home after an evening out. She contacted on one her colleagues who gave me the entry instructions. Had it not been for her I would have been in deep trouble and writing a very different review. Based on this experience the hotel should make clear its entry arrangement for late arrivals to avoid a repetition of this.

I had an attic room, it was not so hot outside but quite humid after a major thunderstorm, but the room was very stuffy even in spite of an open window; the fan provided was too noisy. It was vortunate that there was little traffic noise. The hotel needs to think about ways to keep heat and humidity down in the summer months.

Zurich is a nice city but not much in the way of churches/sites to visit. Museums very expensive and no photos allowed in Grossemunster. Lots of shopping but nothing much is open on Sunday, even many restaurants are closed. Lovely lake, boat trip available. A cit you only need a day to visit.

Stayed at the hotel on business and it was \"OK\". The rooms were clean, but no AC made it warm and no screens on the windows. Fresh fruit was provided, but not replenished each day just at check in.

Showers are small as is the bathroom. Restaurant downstairs was good, but obserd prices ($35 USD for pasta!). Additional taxes apply, not included in the room rates of approx $15 USD per day.

All in all, not a bad hotel for a night or two.

There's really only one thing this weary traveler needs from a hotel - and that's sleep. While this hotel was in a great location, with amazingly nice staff and a great continental breakfast, our stay was really marred by the inability to sleep. The hotel itself has very thin walls, with clunky doors constantly being opened and closed. The loud banging was supplemented by loud hairdryers, loud TV's, conversations and other mystery bumps from within the hotel. Outside, our room was over a busy restaurant, with outside seating directly under our window. Enough said about that! The streets by our room were filled with car and motorcycle noise, and what seemed like continuous construction.

Pros: Nice staff, nice location near the river, walkable to everything, great breakfast.

Cons: Extremely noisy, the bed had two twin sized comforters instead of one, which was weird. Tiny bathroom with no bars of soap and no hair conditioner (a must-have for me with long hair).

So, if you're a deep sleeper with short hair, you might find this place to be quite nice.

A good choice for Zurich

This hotel is a great choice and location if you enjoy and do not mind walking along the waterfront to get to the city centre and old town. Alternatively the tram is a block away. The ladies at the Reception Desk are exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The restaurant food and service was excellent and although it may seem a little pricy, in fact it was reasonable for Switzerland. The bathrooms are a little small but I did have a good size bath and the sink very small but workable. The room itself very spacious. The building is an older one and so you may hear the floor boards here or there with people moving above however I can honestly say it did not keep me awake. There is easy access to and from the airport via the train station close by at a cost of 6.00CHF one way which you can purchase from the Reception Desk.

Loved this hotel for our weekend stay in Zurich. The staff were all just great. Very helpful and lovely. The hotel was clean and tidy and very comfortable. We were offered an upgrade which we refused as our original booking matched our needs. The bed was comfortable and the room suited us. The only thing that amused us was that the bathroom/loo was a little compact so if we were staying for longer we might have gone for the upgrade and a larger bathroom. But whatever, we loved it and I would heartily recommend it to anyone who wants a clean, tidy, comfortable hotel with lovely helpful staff. And it didn't cost us an arm and a leg!

Best little hotel I've ever stayed at

This is a small hotel really close (1/4 mile) from Old Town Zurich, where the lake turns into the river. It is less than 100yds from the Lake and in less than 10 min we were in Old Town.
It is a small hotel with a single person at the front desk and they only stay there until 11pm. If you plan to get in and out when the doors are closed you have to place your room key on a panel that allows you to grab a front door key.
The rooms are small but nice and clean, from the picture behind the door I cold tell that the rooms have different sizes but ours was big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids.
The free breakfast was great, with a variety of breads, cheeses and cold cuts. There was also fruits, cereal, yogurt and juices. Once you walk a little around Zurich you'll realize how nice it is to have a free breakfast with that quality. Everything is really expensive.
We checked in just before 11pm and were helped by Stefan, one of the nicest hotel clerks I've ever encountered. Extremely friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I spent one night there after spending 2 nights at Eden au Lac, which was over £100 more expensive per night... The room was fairly spacious and modern in appearance and I found the bed to be very comfortable compared to the previous hotel, which was quite dated. The hotel is around the corner from the Lake and the walk to the old town from there was very enjoyable.

There were a couple of down sides to the hotel - creaky floor boards; tired towels; and a cold continental breakfast, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. I look forward to my next trip.

since this is a boutique hotel the lobby is not open 24 hours a day for check in. My flight arrived late and the front desk staff waited until 1:00am to make sure that I was able to get into my room. I had a standard room which came with a decent view and was quite spacious and extremely clean and comfortable. The lobby restaurant serves delicious food and wine and has an outdoor seating area, which I enjoyed after a long day of meetings. I will certainly go back to the Seegarten on my next visit to Zurich.

Close to all must-see sights

Only point out that our room had no air conditioning, but with the windows open we sleep cool in September. Nice hotel and good neighborhood, friendly workers. I would return to visit.

Quiet, Contemporary Hotel in Nice Part of Town

This is a really nice hotel in one of the best parts of Zurich, though there isn't a lot surrounding it in terms of stores or a street scene--it's on the edge of a residential neighborhood. Rooms are fresh-looking and contemporary. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. And the fact that they have a \"pillow policy\" to provide you with exactly what works best for you is over the top fabulous.

Must Seegarten

The Hotel Seegarten is a more than adequate hotel in a lovely section of Zurich. My room, although not extravagant, was spacious and very clean. The decor, while probably needing some updating, created a cozy mood. There are interesting vintage posters throughout the hotel depicting winter scenes in Switzerland. The attached restaurant is very good, and they are open early for a great breakfast and open late for a long dinner and drinks. The parking is difficult to find on the street, but there is a parking garage close by. Overall, my experience was very good at the Seegarten.
