Good but needs a make over

Hotel is good. Food is good. Staff are good. The Pool, Spa and Gym are great. Hotel is clean and well maintained. However, the decor is old - it feels like an 80s Time Warp! Well looked after, but old. Note to Dorint Management - you seriously need to invest in modern decor and furnishings! I didn't sleep too great - bed is hard and duvet and pillows not my preference. That being said, I wasn't unhappy and I would stay again.

Negative: Booked double room, but got single. Staff unwilling to change. They charge you extra for parking on check out, without prior warning and without even asking if you've parked in their car park!

In cornoa-times have to make reservations for swimming pool. Understandable. No phone number to do this so have to walk to swimming pool to make reservations. Unware (nowhere to be found) that opening times pool are not as indicated on sunday. Largest problem however is that there is no aircodintioning in the hotel, so at 34 deg C it becomes pretty hot. Not worth 4 stars, would give it 2.5 or 3 stars. Some staff at the reception does not speak English (although advertised) which is not convenient if you want to have a emergency doctor. Breakfast was simple but good. There are no glasses or plates available besides the ones you get at your table, so if you change from lemonade to milk you have to use your same cup (Milk you have to ask for, not available at the buffet).

During the night 19th Nov. to 20th November 2019 there was a fire alarm resulting in immediate evacuation of all hotel guest who later spent more than 2 hours in front of the lobby waiting for safety clearance and loosing probably 3 hours of most needed sleep. I had booked for guest from abroad who had just landed and who were facing a tough business schedule the next day. According to the manager/Receiption all guests should be great full that the fire alarm proved to be still working and all guest should be happy that it may had saved their lives in a real incident. This has been probably one of the most ridiculous answers on behalf of a 4 Star hotel that I ever heard before. No apologies for the false alarm to any guest at all. I am not sure if this manger in charge has understood the basic principles of Hotel customer services at all ? And if he didn't then it can not be expected from anyone of his staff in the front office either. And the real reason seems to always linger at general management level as similar service problems were encountered during previous bookings. I just wasn't aware that the problem is rooted in a general lack of service oriented understanding that seems to goes all the way to the management top level of this hotel.

We stayed at the Dorint on the way from Poland to the Uk. The hotel is a bit old fashioned (70s-80s decor) but in a lovely location in the forest, clean, friendly staff, and a great breakfast.

Second time at this hotel. Starting to look dated but it’s like an old Mercedes! Dependable, works, may not have the fancy mod cons but it more than does the job. No hesitation to stay here & lovely part of Germany.

The hotel is an older style resort in a forested area of Germany. It is advertised as a spa/sauna resort although there is extra cost of 15 euro to use the pool/sauna/spa. Overall the room was very clean and comfortable. parking was some distance down the hill from the hotel but wasn't too much of a problem. Breakfast was included

Excellent facility with extensive features, including a pool , hot tub and a full gym. The room was spacious and well appointed. There is no air-conditioning or ceiling fans, which can be a problem in unusually hot weather. We missed that event by 1 or 2 days. Pleasant staff and sumptuous breakfasts.

OK hotel as long as you have a car to get around. Otherwise you need cabs or walk down a long hill.
Rooms are non-smoking but balconies and decks are not; keep a window open (no a/c) and you smell cigarettes 24/7.

So me and my buddy got 2 rooms and upon getting the rooms we checked out the both rooms to see how nice they were and they were nice but i found out one of the mini fridges didnt work and the other worked great and we had identical rooms so i went down to inform the front desk that it didnt work and they told me that the fridge was only ment to be decoration and not used and i asked then why is the other fridge in the other room im paying for work and they told me that they werent able to do anything and that i couldnt use their fridge either. So overall not bad but the manager was just overall unprofessional.

Beautiful setting in the middle of the forest.

We had a wonderful weekend at Dorint Hotel in August, visiting for a wedding.

The view from the room was out to the forest, wonderful to wake up to. The breakfast was superb. The hotel facilities were great, we spent time in the swimming pool and sauna which were both quiet. The water in the pool was warm.

Thank you to the staff who were helpful and very friendly. They let me know of the local festival taking place. Although I speak German, they helped me to order a taxi and printed off the bus time table.

We would definitely come and stay again.

Unfamiliar with this brand I was surprised this is more of local retreat than typical hotel,but served my needs cry well. Good breakfast and relaxing. Fairly far from town and up a hill, so if you like to walk to a local pub or restaurant, this isn't the place. This is more a self contained retreat.

I like the location, it was very beautiful there! I have been in Belgium on business for the past few weeks and had to come check out lines in Germany. This was close to my work and a great place to sleep after a long day of work or go out and get a beer after work.

Nice out of the way place

The hotel was good for attending the Germany NRW Tough Mudder, but is likely otherwise a bit out of the way. They did have a spa, but I did not use it. The restaurant was fine, but very expensive. The hotel is NOT within walking distance of anything else in the area. There was plenty of parking and everything was clean. I would recommend this hotel.

Leckeres Frühstück, große Auswahl, auch für Veganer was dabei. Bar hatte Sonntag Abend um 21:15 Uhr, wir wurden aber trotzdem über das Restaurant mit den gewünschten Getränken versorgt, die wir dann im Kaminzimmer getrunken haben. Billardraum wird momentan angeblich renoviert. Personal generell sehr freundlich. Parken 3,- Euro pro Tag. Hallenbad war mit drin, Sauna kam mit 7,50 Euro pro Person noch dazu.

Insgesamt waren wir mit unserem Aufenthalt zufrieden. Das Sofa im Zimmer war etwas abgewohnt, aber insgesamt war es sauber, die Betten waren bequem. Zum Frühstück gab es ausreichend Auswahl und das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.
Für Fahrräder gab es einen abschließbaren Unterstand.

Das Hotel liegt mitten im Wald hat in ein paar Kilometer Umkreis aber auch alles was man braucht. Auch für Ausflüge mit Kindern gibt es erstaunlich viel Angebot im Umkreis. Ein Teil der Zimmer ist alt ein Teil neu. Der neue ist ganz schön aber leider hatten wir Schimmel in der Dusche der trotz täglichem erinnern nicht weg gemacht wurde. Auch die Seife wurde über mehrere Tage nicht aufgefüllt und kleine Handtücher gab es auch nur auf Nachfrage. Die Kommunikation zwischen dem freundlichen Empfang und dem Reinigungspersonal ist wohl problematisch. Das Essen ist für ein 4 Sterne Hotel eine Katastrophe. Die buffets bieten immer nur dasselbe an und die Auswahl und die Qualität ist nicht besonders gut. Die Burger waren roh und das Huhn auch. Das darf im Hotel nicht sein.

Nous sommes arrivés pour manger à 21 heure avec une petite faim. Seul le buffet à 35 euros nous a été proposé.
Pas possible de manger un snack, une simple omelette ou salade.
Vive le gaspillage des buffets à volonté !

Pour echapper au gaspillage du buffet du petit dej à 19 euros, nous sommes descendu dans la ville plus bas et avons déjeuner dans une patisserie, d'un simple café et d'une viennoiserie excellente .

Sehr dürftiger Service wenn etwas schief läuft

Wir hatten als Sportteam zwei Vierbett Zimmer gebucht und sind zu siebt angereist. Man möchte meinen, dass wenn man ein Vierbettzimmer bucht auch eins bekommt. Bekommen haben wir ein Dreibett Zimmer, zudem waren es auch keine Einzelbetten wie angekündigt.
Da auch kein Zustellbett mehr verfügbar war von einem sichtlich genervten Nachtdienst (der sich nicht über uns ärgerte sondern dass insgesamt vieles schief ging den Abend) blieb einem von uns nur der Boden als Schlafmöglichkeit.
Man möchte nun meinen dass wenn man dies beim Checkout erwähnt ein Service denken einsetzt, aber hier wurden dann nur stolze 21 Euro pro Person für ein Frühstück abgerechnet. Enttäuschend.
Ich persönlich war schon in vielen Hotels, auch in Dorint Hotels. Dieses hier war von der Ausstattung gut aber vom Service und von dem sich wohlfühlen durch das Personal wirklich enttäuschend. Leider keine Weiterempfehlung von unserer Seite. Schade

Neuer Besitzer - neuer Schwung!

Ich kenne dieses Hotel noch aus seinen \"Dorint Zeiten\" und finde es gut, daß die neuen Eigentümer es nun wieder mit Schwung bewirtschaften. Natürlich muss nun vieles überarbeitet und wieder hübsch gemacht werden, aber es besteht berechtigte Hoffnung. Ich werde wieder kommen, obwohl ich die nun eingeführten 3 Euros Parkgebühren ziemlich lächerlich finde.

Zimmer renovierungsbedürftig, Badezimmer stark renovierungsbedürftig, Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer (ohne Tassen, Beim Checkin warten die Gäste an der Rezeption, während ein Mitarbeiter erstmal sein Telefonat in Ruhe beendet. Zweiter Mitarbeiter konnte sich im PC nicht anmelden. 3 € pro Tag Parkgebühren, diese wurden bei den letzten beiden Buchungen nicht erwähnt bzw. berechnet. Als Antwort erhält man ein kurzes \"Ist aber so!\" Eine Flasche Wasser für 7 €, das ist schon Wucher. Nach der Übernahme des Dorint Hotels an die Fletcher Gruppe wird wohl etwas Professionalität einziehen, zumindest ist das Personal aus den Niederlanden bei weitem freundlicher und aufmerksamer, während das deutsche Personal irgendwie im Schlafmodus seine Arbeit verrichtet. Aufgrund der aktuell günstigeren Preise der Zimmer ist dieses Hotel noch empfehlenswert.

De accommodatie is verouderd, dient gerenoveerd te worden en de communicatie kan verbeterd worden. Er werd niet dagelijks schoongemaakt, er waren niet dagelijks koffiecups terwijl dit wel beschreven staat. Je kon merken dat het hotel net was overgenomen en dat er zeker verbeter punten noodzakelijk zijn. Het ontbijt was matig en het buffet 's avonds was ook gemiddeld.
De sauna was prima. Er is een fantastische sportaccommodatie.

Een zeer goed hotel met alle sport mogelijkheden die bij een overnachting gratis zijn. Wel een iets ouder hotel maar met een fantastische omgeving waar je heerlijk kunt wandelen om daarna lekker in het zwembad te relaxen. Een goed uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet die bij de overnachting erbij zit. Een aanrader.

Bis auf das Frühstück nicht empfehlenswert

Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen auf den Zimmer wird kein Tee oder Kaffee angeboten es stehen keine Getränke zur Verfügung die Betten riechen unangenehm und der Teppichboden ist ausgelatscht.
Nachdem ich das Zimmer gesehen habe wo keine großen betten angeboten werden hatte ich keine Lust mehr den rest zu testen und zu erkunden. Zum Glück musste ich dort nur 1 Nacht bleiben. Von 4 Sternen ist dieses Hotel mailen weit entfernt. Würde es niemandem empfehlen. Das Frühstück war bis auf das Rührei (instant) sehr gut besonder der Speck war lecker und knusprig.

Das Hotel an sich liegt gut, aber in die Jahre gekommen. Zimmerausstattung alt. Das Bett zu niedrig keine guten Matratzen. Tv muß in der richtigen Ecke gestellt werden damit man vom Bett aus Fernsehen kann. Saunabereich gut Schwimmbad nicht beheizt.
Positiv war das Frühstück gute Auswahl.

Das Hotel ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Gleiches gilt für das Mobiliar und den Spa / Pool-Bereich. Preis / Leistung daher nur ausreichend.

Komfort Zimmer bietet keine Klimaanlage,keine gute Dusche, liegt im 7. Stock und ist schwer erreichbar!
Wo ist der Komfort?
Das Abendessen ist teuer bezahltes Conveniencefood!
Einziger Lichtpunkt ist der Pool!

Hotel ok maar gedateerd

Hotel op zich is wel ok, maar gedateerd. Oude kamers, vuil tapijt en oude badkamer. Alles is nog functioneel, maar voor die prijs en een dergelijk hotel zou je een modernere en mooiere kamer mogen verwachten.
Positief: bijzonder vriendelijk onthaal en heel veel uitleg gekregen ook over de streek, prachtige en rustige ligging en ruime parkeergelegenheid. Heel verzorgd ontbijt.
Negatief: gedateerd en verouderd hotel, veel last gehad van sigarettengeur in de badkamer (probleem van ventilatie?) en 3€ per dag om te parkeren terwijl het hotel gigantisch veel parkeergelegenheid heeft??? Geen flauw idee waarom ze hun gasten hiermee nog op kosten jagen?

Kantinenessen. Kein Kaffee oder Kuchen zu bekommen. Servicepersonal ungelernt und überfordert.
Zimmer für den Preis nicht angemessen.

Wir sind einen Tag eher abgereist.
