So I checked into the room and the front door was locked and then they front desk associate locked me in there with herself and when I told her what my pronouns were she laughed at me and did not correct herself they did not tell me that there was no Wi-Fi working they did not tell me that the door to my room would not lock completely and there was not a safety lock on the door there was dirty on floors there was burnt tables and there was so many things wrong and I felt so disrespected

This place was disgusting. The whole studio was dirty. Bugs in the kitchen. The walls had stains. Smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned. Opened soap wrapper. I was only there for 45 minutes and checked out. Save you the trip and do not go stay here.

The room was heavily neglected and hardly clean on any surface of the room. Used bars of soap and the previous occupants socks were still in the bathroom. Hair and dirt lined every crevice your eyes could see and the musky smell in the room was terrible. Not to mention my vehicle was broken into not even 4 hours after I checked in and the manager told me there was nothing they can help me with and to try with a different manager in the morning 9 hours after the incident. I had to stay awake all night so I could ensure my family and property would be safe.

I had to go purchase my own cleaning supplies just to feel some type of comfort sleeping here I can’t stand filth and I had already purchased my stay so I didn’t want to go through the cancellation processing so I guess party it is my fault for still staying here but when you come to stay in a room that’s supposed to be non-smoking and it smells like the last people that were in here were lifetime smokers and just saturated the whole room with smoke smell so odor, disinfectant and a little bit of a some Fabulosa can’t handle..

The room was dirty and had bugs in it. They make you take your own trash out. When I wanted more towels and soap I ha to go to the office and get it. I'm handicapped which made it extremely difficult. They are closed on Sunday. The staff was no help at all

No horrible words can describe this place. It's a pit from hell . 23 cockroaches I found in my room car was towed by a fraudulent towing company. Cost me 325 extra dollars . How do I get a refund?

All the above , room was filled with cockroaches I think I killed 23 in 10 days they refuse to spray the room fix the asbestos snowfall in my bathroom. Plus they towed my vehicle and said there's a sign posted where I parked which there wasn't and the tow company that towed my vehicle is not properly registered in Colorado so is it legal tow . This place is a joke . If I were Expedia i would not have this hotel on my web site . Embarrassing for Expedia.

My stay at HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof Denver – Lakewood West was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

The moment I stepped foot on the property, I knew something was seriously wrong. There were at least five police cars and around seven officers standing around the area during my check-in. A cop even approached me asking about possible disturbances. I had just arrived and was checking in, so I told them I had no idea—but that alone was enough to make me feel extremely unsafe.

Inside the room was even worse.
• Cockroaches everywhere — crawling on the floor, walls, and even onto my bed
• Strong cigarette smell that reeked through the entire room
• Bathroom was filthy
• Sink was clogged
• Fridge was dirty and clearly not cleaned

The cockroaches were the final straw. One crawled onto my bed, and I couldn’t sleep at all. Since I was waiting to ask for a full refund and trying to give the place the benefit of the doubt with the other rooms they provided, I even went as far as buying Lysol disinfectant and Raid to kill the roaches—but honestly, it didn’t work at all. After two nights, I seriously had enough and left.

Another major inconvenience:
The front desk is only open from 11 AM to 7 PM, which is completely unrealistic for travelers. My flight arrival didn’t align at all. If you arrive outside those hours, you have to call a phone number and wait for someone to come check you in, which feels sketchy, inconvenient and unnecessary.

The only kind word to offer about our stay is that the staff are courteous and responded to every problem. It is mind-boggling to me that a hotel or motel bearing the Red Roof corporate name allowed the state of disrepair and filthiness that we experienced. If you stop here because of the low price, be sure to inspect the room before you commit to staying here.

Room was neglected. Looked like no one had been there for months. Heater didn't work right away. No toilet paper. Yellow water in toilet like it hadn't been flushed in weeks. Black water came out of the shower to start, then cleared. Very thin blanket, not enough to keep warm. Front desk closed at 7:00pm Sat. so no staff there to help. Closed Sunday! TV reception unwatchable. Microwave looked like it had something ate away at bottom layer... not safe to use? Huge closet with no hangers, etc.

This hotel is awful. I couldn’t stay here. I slept in my car at a the Pilot rather than stay in this dump. Do not stay here! It’s in a bad area and there are people tweaking out in the parking lot. The security guard doesn’t care about anything. I seriously am so upset about this. That’s $80 down the drain. There’s a bunch of junk in the parking lot and no places to park. Disgusting place.

They room didn't appear to have been cleaned properly. Food under microwave glass player, dirty refrigerator, ac didn't blow cold. I've got pictures and I need to see if all my charges were refunded. My brother was having open my heart surgery off Union and 2nd. After I saw the room condition,I immediately went to the office, they said look at another one!!! Yeah I'd like to bring roaches into a cardiac ICU .

The second room didn't smell as bad, but there were cigarette burns in the comforter and a dead bug on my bathroom sink. The living room area didn't have a light and the place couldn't have been more bare bones. I would not return.

I’ve waited a while to leave this review from how upset I was. I had to stay here for 2 weeks as I had just moved back to Colorado after losing my significant other 3 months prior. I got my room, and the service I received was awful. The front desk was standoffish from check in. Then my AC went out, when it was fixed, they left a large puddle of water that was not cleaned. I ended up having to ask for towels. I was also ignored for days after saying my door wasn’t working. They kept giving me new keys and I kept informing them that they were not working. I was on the second floor so I had to keep going up and down. Ultimately I got locked out my room, the maintenance guy couldn’t even open it. I couldn’t get in after work. I ended up having to leave. It was awful the lady treated me so awful for no reason. She made my stay miserable, more than what I already feel. I tried leaving and because I bought it here, thy would not refund or let me leave. I was stuck. They made it up with one day extra, but it was still just such an awful experience. The place is ran down and nothing is cared for. I also recorded the calls in case you need them.

This was all the money we had as we were waiting for our apartment to be ready and this place smelt like old dirty water they had bugs in the bathroom and kitchen area. You need a key card for certain parts of the property and people would just get in the car to open the gate. A lady was passed out in front of the building half the night. No screens on windows with a view of trash everywhere. This is not a place I would recommend or will my family and I ever return I should be able to get my money back. Gross, sketchy, and stinky. The doors were always locked to the lobby (or at least when we got there that evening and when we left the next morning) and there wasn’t anyone there at all when we tried to check out, so we called two different numbers, only to get a 24 hour security guards number for their mailbox to be full. The nonsmoking room was still very stinky and the walls and windows had evidence of some kind of smoking residue. Couldn’t find a trash can and one of our pillows didn’t even have a pillowcase on it. There was a small bar of soap and shampoo and conditioner, which is more than I expected. The lampshades have stains and are smashed up pretty good. The pictures must have been taken when first built. More of a permanent living thing I think. Get what ya pay for I guess.

This was a terrible room. We walked in and there were no pillows on the beds, no trash bags in the trash can, and only a partial roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. The radiators on the walls were rusty and dirty, there was a puddle in front of the fridge, and the floors needed to be swept. We turned the TV on and there was no signal, because the antenna cable was broken and barely connected to the TV. We called and asked for pillows and for someone to fix the TV, and we were told that someone would come in the morning for the TV. That night, a huge bug ran across my bed, and the next morning there was absolutely NO hot water, and also no plugs for the bathtub! I asked about having someone come spray for bugs, and they didn't have anyone who could do it before Monday (we were there Friday-Sunday). Also, the office is only open from 11am - 7pm, so we had to wait until they opened on Saturday to get toilet paper and hot water! They never fixed the TV because the maintenance man called out. The pictures made it look nice, it was NOT. We would have asked for a refund but we booked through a 3rd party so we couldn't get one.

Travelocity you should be ashamed for posting this place as a hotel. It’s a month to month rental for those that can’t afford housing. This is not a hotel, motel, or anything that a traveler would ever want to stay at. Disgusting, in disrepair, smelled awful. The bed was kind of comfy 4/10.

Do not stay here!! It is not like the pictures at all! It is unsafe! We arrived after 9 pm and the front lobby was closed; when we called, the gal came to the door but wouldn’t even come out herself. She would only open the door an inch or two, wide enough to pass a paper we had to sign and the room key. There were vagrants all around. The non-smoking room we were given smelled of cigarettes and had burn marks all throughout the bathroom. We decided to cancel our stay. I will say the general manager who I spoke with a few days later was kind and refunded two of the three nights without a lot of trouble, but we had to pay the first night even though we didn’t stay there. We were so relieved to stay somewhere else that we almost didn’t care.

Front desk clerk was nice, but before check in I asked if the area was bad? (Security car gates, bulletproof office) so i had to ask. She laughed it off, wasnt truthful. I checked into a ghetto apartment complex, half the people live there, smoke ridden, grimey place. Didnt feel safe leaving my few things in the car, so lugged it all up to floor 2. Neighbors were tweaking. And neither of my 2 keys worked. Was a sign to leave. Glad i didnt see the inside. This place is straight trash. Spend an extra couple dollars and dont go here.

The staff and service was great. This property is only decent if you’re on a budget. The room was awful, tons of holes in the walls and very not well made furniture and whatnot. Also, the worst part is the how pungent it was with the smell of cigarettes. We tried to air out the room with the windows and AC but it stunk the whole time we spent there. The only upside was how friendly and nice the staff are and how easy check in was even after hours. The neighborhood is bad if you don’t have a car but also cop cars were around and it wasn’t near anything accessible. Only good if you’re looking for a place to sleep and not stay in. The floors were also obviously not swept or cleaned as there was dirt and other miscellaneous items on it (such as a used contact lens). The furniture was unkempt and torn up. Again, only bright side was cost and staff, everything else was not great.

What I didn't like??? Huuummmm! I don't even know where to start....If you like to listen to yelling, cursing, and watching drug deals go down stay here. If you like sleeping on a double bed sitting on a queen size bedframe stay here. If you want to plug in any eletrical item into a plug make sure your life insurance is up to date because the room we had the plugs in's were broken and falling apart....just save yourself a headache and stay away from Cofax Street.

The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and did not want to be helpful at check in. She stated i had no reservation and when i went to show her my Expedia confirmation sshe said, “that does nothing for me”. (I dont quite remember her name, older lady) She goes on to say sometimes they over bool and they were completely full with no rooms available for the night. After several minutes of her staring at the computer she finds my reservation completes my check in and she tosses my ID back to me.

During our stay in the middle of the night security bangs on our door then proceeds to open the door yelling, “hey you are supposed to be in there”. Door had the lock up top so it prevented him from completing coming in and further startling us some more. My husband gets up to open the door and explains to him we have a paid reservation in this ro and shows him our email confirmation. The security guy apologizes and explains he was given a list of vacancies he needed to make sure were actually vacant. So not only was error in their part for having our room on the list but the lady at the desk also lied when she told us there were no rooms available and they were completely full.

I would never recommend this place! La Quinta is much nicer and you even save some bucks. This place is horrible not worth the bargain. Its old, falling apart, and there was graffiti in the bathroom. Not to mention the drug use happening right outside in the parking lot.

The room was dirty. Beds, sheets, and towels were clean but nothing else. It looked as if the cleaning person had just rinsed out the tub and sink and that was it. There was black marks on the floor where something was spilled and collected dirt. The room reeked of smoke even though it was a smoke free room. I had to go to the store and buy cleaning supplies to even feel comfortable letting my kids touch anything in the room. Spent my first night of vacation moping, scrubbing the shower, cleaning the kitchen counters, fridge, and every other surface of layers of dirt, cigarette tar and what ever other substances were there!

We drove 12 hours and arrived to check in at about 8:00 pm and there was no one in the office and the outside door was locked. Other people were standing outside trying to check in also. One if the other guests (whom we didn’t know) was already on the phone with the management and said someone would be there shortly to open the door and check us in.
The parking lot is fenced in very tightly and some areas are blocked off with an automatic gate while others aren’t. It’s a clearly run down property and there are drug addicts who have put up tents next to the parking lot. My 14 year old son and I had the pleasure of seeing someone smoking meth behind the building,
After the front desk associate attempted to check me in under the wrong reservation, she was finally able to find the right one and I got my key, which didn’t work. I had to walk back down to the office and get another key.
Finally, I got into my room and there were dirty sheets, blood stains in the walls, cob webs, and needle holes in the toilet paper rolls. My daughter and her boyfriend had a separate room and they found the same conditions and, what appeared to be, a ballon or used condom.
We immediately checked out and went somewhere else.

This shouldnt be advertised as a hotel. This property is meant for people that are inbetween living situations. The freezer was moldy, the floor was disgusting, the bed spread and couch had ciggarette burns in them. The entire space wreaked of must and ciggarettes. The batteries were stolen out of the tv remote and the toilet stopped flushing after one use.

When we checked in, there were bounty hunters on site looking for someone. This should have been our first clue how bad the place was. Regardless we check in and got to our rooms. This Expedia listing is absolutely false advertised. Upon arrival, we were in utter shock to find out this property is also used as a shelter. Not only were the suites in unpleasant condition, but we felt completely unsafe as there were many transient individuals loitering in the parking lot and common areas. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances we chose to leave 20 minutes after check in and stay elsewhere.

Shame on Expedia and HomeTowne Studios for allowing this to happen without reimbursement. This was an unnecessary stress and fee added to a family getaway. My family and I will never again book at this property or through Expedia.

On a positive note, the front desk staff were kind and very cooperative as we expressed our concerns.

We felt very unsafe when arriving at this property. This was in a very run down neighborhood with transients sitting everywhere. The place was gated like a prison & we were directed to make sure we close the gates when we return at night. The entrances to the rooms were outside and the place was very run down. We did not stay & lost our first night's payment.

good place but not great

although a room cleaning was scheduled for mid-stay, it was never done, at all. i had to ask for clean towels and given only 2! we were there for 7 days, I asked the cleaning lady for a room cleaning, she never came after assuring me it would be done. other than that everything else was ok. there were some questionable looking guys going in and out the doors using rocks to prop them open, but they never bothered anybody. more security needed around the property. breakfasts were great.

Absolutely TERRIBLE! The photos are not like what the hotel is. The trash was not taken out, the floors were sticky, the walls had splatter stains, the bathroom appliances were YELLOW! and when we arrived there were so many people doing drugs in the parking lot. They only gave us 2 of our 3 nights back.

Perfectly smoked

You wanted to be smoked like a brisket (in just one night) book your stay here. The room that was supposed to be no smoking was drenched in cigarette smoking smell.
We had to run away after one night.

It was very gross. Smelled of cigarettes. Pretty sure there was black mold on the bathroom walls. No service after hours is ridiculous and that means no security… felt unsafe.

The people at the front desk were super nice and deserve to work at a better place.

We arrived at 3:30, a half hour after start of check in. We were told that our rooms weren't clean yet and it would be at least and hour before we could check in. By 5:00 we got 1 of our reserved rooms and still had to wait 10 minutes before our other one came available, which was on the other side of the building. We had dinner reservations @ 5:45 which meant we didn't have time to change. When we finally got into our rooms we found dirty floors, holes in the walls and bathroom doors, the bathtub had black mold around it, and black residue remnants from anti slip pads on the bottom of it. The shower head was HORRIBLE! I couldn't get my whole head wet at once, it sprayed that small a stream. We only had 1 trash can and the outlets in the bathroom didn't work. The only thing good was the staff was helpful in getting my ID back to me after I left it at the front desk. I will never stay here again or recommend it to friends.

Horrendous hotel dont stay here

Room was NOT as advertised at all. Disgusting room that looked like multiple crime scenes took place in there. The bed wasnt even queen size when i paid for queen size. Bed sheets were disgusting and stained. The bathroom was horrendous. The toilet had hair on it, the only soap we had was the shampoo from the shower. NEVER STAY HERE

No toilet paper, no shampoo or soap bars, dirt around head of bed on the floor. Cleaning solution left in room. Guess at least i know they tried to disinfect the place.

Bed was at least clean with no bugs not to noisy. Staff was top notch and extremely helpful

I only had a choice of a third floor room despite prepayment for 3 weeks. Room amenities substandard. dangerous parking, homeless hanging out, second rate TV service, dirty stairwells. Staff apathetic. Stayed less than 15 minutes. NO REFUND

Our expectations were low for the price, but the conditions of the property and the room were pretty bad. We had a room in the gated section (the gate didn't work for exit - I had to get out of my car, walk through the man gate and use my card to get it to open), which seemed to be in better condition that the other portion of the building, but I think the photos speak for themselves. The room was generally clean, but there were what appeared to be shoe marks on the sheets. We weren't comfortable staying the night, and the drop box was broken, so we had to track down the security guard to turn in the keys.

When we checked in the room had not been cleaned from previous people there was wet towels on the floor in the tub and I had to go ask for fresh towels for $84.00you would think at least a clean room the experience was the worst I have ever had won't be staying there again
