The step down into the breakfast room is difficult for elderly. Maybe, take it to your room. The room was clean. Broken glass bottle by the parking area. Nice staff.

Breakfast was not fresh, at least for the potatoes. You can tell they were made the day before and reserved. If you get then the first day they are crisp and nice but on day 2 they are just gross. Eggs look like they cane out of a carton, ham was ok. They do have waffles, bannanas, and juice and milk. The hotel needs some repairs but it is always a nice stay on the coast. We stayed in the top floor room and had a great veiw of the ocean plus the fancy outaude chairs. This is our 4th time here and for the price we will be back.

The breakfast at SureSttay by Best Western @Dold Beach, OR was just OK. I have been traveling with family (personal trips) for >30 years. And, this breakfast at the low level of the range. The range of food is modest (scrambled eggs, potatoes and breakfast meat), and the food is not kept warm (food trays are not kept hot).

Usually I really easy but this time I would like to give some feedback since I am really upset and uncomfortable can’t sleep a whole night. They give me the room on 1st floor which can hear any steps or movements from the guest upstairs. The room smells uncomfortable, the furniture and beds are really outdated with some pets fur left over. If it’s not for the late check in at 2100 on our roadtrip, otherwise we would have to leave and go somewhere else. Really upset

We only stayed one night, passing through the coast on a road trip. All we needed was a safe, clean room with comfortable bed that we can lay our head on for the night & shower. It met the basic needs. My family gave it only 4 stars because we think the hotel badly needs a re-modeling. It is clean, however it is outdated. The room we were given was hard to find at night, especially when there was a huge trash can and vacuum cleaner blocking the door at the entrance by the stairs. We didn't think it was the hallway our room was going to be in. It was a little scary at first to say the least. Breakfast is typical. We didn't use the pool. The room is ocean front, some views, a good walk to the beach, didn't really matter since we didn't stay long.

The staff was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and the rest of the furniture was old and tired. We were on the third floor and there was a set of stairs to go up (second floor was the ground floor).

The balcony was a bonus and it was a nice place to eat leftovers and enjoy the sunset. There was also a path to the beach on the bottom floor.

Breakfast was good a little better than the average.

Breakfast was delicious especially with their roasted sliced ham! The rest was typical, sausage and biscuits, eggs, waffles, etc. We were traveling with our dog and the large area in the back of the motel was perfect for walking him especially since there was also a trail to the beach which we walked at least once a day. Gorgeous sunset and a very friendly staff. The only negative was if you had a noisy guest in a room above you. We will definitely be back!

Room & breakfast were average. Good front desk service. We would recommend painting safety stripes on the concrete steps going out of the breakfast room and the steps at the pool entrance. We exited the pool on a sunny day and had to stop to look for the step edge.

I was very disappointed to find our room was bit odd smelling. I thought the room was very lacking in appeal and had loose floor tiles. While it was clean and had the necessities for the most part. No shampoo only conditioner. No soap or body was in bath. Only 2 towels. Our lower floor unit didn’t really have a beach view.
This was one of the more expensive rooms of our trip and was the worst. I will say the breakfast was great.

We had not been on any kind of overnight trip since COVID hit, so we were unsure what to expect. On the surface, it all looked great. Just below the surface, the details presented themselves that caused us to drop our enthusiasm. The furnishings were very \"used\"--from the chairs that were way too uncomfortable to a couple of seniors to the dresser with drawers that were touchy about how to open (or only open partially.) The breakfast was OK. As a diabetic, I do not have high expectations for anyone's breakfast, and this one was average and quite servicable. We did not use the pool, or walk to the beach which was very close.

Single night stop passing through. Stayed in the same room 15 years earlier when it was the Gold Beach Resort. Hasnt changed. Everything worked, some wear and tear, but generally amenable. Included hot breakfast was good, daughter made her first waffle by herself, highlight of her trip.
Staff friendly, weather cooperated; however, no air conditioning or fans in the room, so plan accordingly in high heat conditions. Water pressure was on the soft side, so expect longer runtime for proper rinsing.

Desperately needs updating, especially for the price. The building and rooms just feel dilapidated. There is no A/C, which I understand is usually not necessary, but it was warm when we stayed so our room was hot and required us to leave the glass door open all night which was a little concerning because we were on the first floor. The rooms smelled musty and the carpet needs replacing.

This review however does NOT reflect the staff who were all absolutely lovely, kind, and helpful!

Pool in separate building from rooms. View was beautiful. Balcony was nice. Sink needed to be attached to counter more solidly. Price seemed a little high.

This place has the best view in gold beach. We’ve been here many times and love it. Unfortunately the property is getting old and needs some repairs. The screen door was hard to open, there was a lot of rust in the door jam out to the balcony, there was a dirty napkin and wash cloth left on the ground, and we had to call for towels because there weren’t any in the room. Little things that can’t be overlooked.

Stayed here a few years back and it was quite nice, sadly things have definitely gone downhill since then and I don't think we'll be back. Certainly not up to par with other Best Western properties.
The good - All rooms (I think) have ocean views and there is a trail that goes right down to the beach. Heater in the room worked well. Indoor pool and hot tub our kiddo thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was great, we got there right before it ended on a Saturday and still were able to get waffles, eggs, potatoes, ham, biscuits and gravy, etc. The staff were all very kind and helpful.
The bad - Our room was on the lower level, which DOES NOT look like the pictures. I understand that these are the cheapest rooms they offer however transparency is important. The lower level rooms are located below the parking level ones, in a musty hallway with a door that no longer locks. Furniture looks like it's from 2005 and all felt like it had a film over it. I got the feeling we may have been put in a pet friendly room, which I did not appreciate as we were traveling with a young baby. Stained lampshades. Curtains were ancient, stained and the sheer ones are yellowed from age. It was nice to have a balcony however there was no screen and the slider did not lock (which is concerning as we are on the lower level). There was just a piece of wood to place in the track. We found a blood stain on the sheets. There was quite a lot of black mold in the bathroom and on the window

The microwave had cooked spilled food in it so we couldn’t use it and the bathroom had hair on the toilet as well several hairs on the floor in front of the bathtub . After driving all day and hours driving in a huge storm I was really looking forward to a hot bath when checking in but after seeing how unclean the bathroom was i only rushed taking a quick shower. Also we specifically reserved a pet friendly room which my confirmation clearly shows but I was charged a $250 pet fee by this hotel. Even when Hotels.com contacted them they refused to refund the wrongfully charged fee. This hotel is shady and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Drive a little further north and stay in the cuter town of Coos Bay.
