The staff was consistently helpful and courteous and the room was very clean and comfortable but we chose the wrong type of room -- with 2 twin beds which left much less room around the beds; we should have chosen a room with one double bed. Sure, the bathroom was small by American standard but was not small by Japanese standard -- it was just fine. Their Japanese breakfast was wonderful with things that we can't prepare easily in the States. We also made many cups of tea (green & black) using free tea bags from the front desk. The hotel is only a few steps from the train station-mall so it was very convenient to take the train, eat & shop including food stuff. We had a very good stay.

Rooms are small by U.S. standards but big enough for one person. It was clean, mostly quiet & had everything i needed. Double refers to bed size, not room size. Totsuka is less crowded than Kawasaki & Yokohama. Good food across the street & a shopping mall next door. You can access the train station thru the mall. Me happy.

The hotel is conveniently located just steps away from the Totsuka station and several shopping areas, including a large grocery store near the subway/train station and many dining options. If you're looking for something scenic or near the big tourist areas like the waterfront, this wouldn't be it; but we wanted to be near family who live in Yokohama, so this was perfect for us. It's an easy train ride from Haneda Airport; and Tokyo Station and Ueno Park in Tokyo are only about 35 and 40 minutes away by train. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Plus it was fun to see a couple origami Shohei Ohtani in the lobby during the U.S. baseball World Series. Very satisfied with the stay.

This property is very convenient, quiet, and comfortable. It was larger than i expected based on what I'd read about Japanese lodging. I reduced one star for cleanliness because the corridor walls were quite dusty; the room was clean. I also would have liked a second pillow (room was equipped with only one) but i never requested another one. I really loved the inn-provided PJs.

Perfect location for my travels for around Japan.
Another reason for convenience, is that the Narita Express train (NEX) from Narita Airport stops at Totsuka station, which is a three minute walk to the hotel.
The staff do a great job from checking in, keeping your room clean, checking out, and even helping you with holding your bags for a short time, if you have a later departure time. 🙂👍👍👌

Close to the station and well-cleaned room

Entering into this hotel and reaching to a reception is a little tricky as you need to anyway access via a lift after passing through Totsuka station's barrier. You can find a lift either at Tsuruha drag store on the ground floor level (but subject to the store's busness hours) or at the second floor (same level as a bus terminal). I arrived a tad early and had to wait a short while in a lobby area but the receptionist allowed me to check in before the usual check-in time 3pm.
The guest room I stayed was located at a corner of the building (so I assume more space than the average rooms). Air conditioning worked well and a little too powerful for the size of room (so I turned it on and off over time). Be prepared that bath room was quite tiny but this is a standard in Japan's budget hotel. Apart from that, well-cleaned and equipped with amenities you might need. (If you didn't find the one you want, speak to the hotel staff as they have plenty of items nearby a lift on 3rd floor, same level as the reception.Overall, good location and comfort for the price.

Very convenient to Totsuka bus and trains

We chose the hotel largely on location: next to Totsuka train station and integrated with a shopping mall and bus station.
For overseas visitors with large suitcases be sure to book one of the larger rooms as we did (Japanese hotels are compact).
No real issues but the breakfast didn't offer much choice - it's not a large place and maybe not such diverse range of clientele. Buffet though so volume of food wasn't a constraint.

We weren’t looking for luxury or a huge room, just a clean place to stay near a station for a couple of days. Just a comfortable place to sleep, really. The staff was very friendly, checking in and checking out were both quick and painless, and while the room itself was small and showed a little wear it was very clean and had all the usual amenities. All in all just what we were looking for. Also they let us store our luggage after checkout without any fuss, which was very convenient.

Small but clean room and bathroom. Shelf space in the bathroom was rather lacking, but adequate considering the price. The hotel is next to not only a train station but also a shopping mall including a department store (Tokyu Store) with a fabulous deli department.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable and a 2-3 minute walk to the train station. There was a convenience store and many restaurants and shops in a nice multistory building right next to the hotel too. The security of the hotel was good as well, because you needed to use your room key card to enter the hotel's front door late at night and to use the elevator. Japan is pretty safe but the added security was appreciated.

The people at the front desk were nice and friendly and understood English. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again the next time I am in Yokohama. Recommended.

Great for business trips

I was traveling to Totsuka for business. This hotel allowed me to walk to work. It also has close proximity to restaurants and shopping.
The wifi is very fast. The rooms are clean and modern. The staff is friendly.
It's a bit small for western travelers used to larger rooms. If you prefer that, you might have to stay in Yokohama, where there are several luxury western-style hotels.
The Narita Express travels to this station, so it was an easy train ride to the hotel from the airport. It was just as easy to return.
It was also easy to get to Yokohama, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Kamakura and Tokyo from this location, especially with a Suica card.

Fine, low-frills hotel

We've stayed here a number of times while visiting relatives in the area. The hotel is located near the Totsuka JR station, with frequent connections to Tokyo and Yokohama in one direction, and Ofuna and Kamakura in the other. It is next to a small shopping mall with pretty much anything you need, including a Starbucks. The rooms are reasonably large for a hotel in Japan, and the nonsmoking ones seem to be truly nonsmoking (I.e., don't smell of stale smoke). Breakfast OK, skews toward Japanese style, though there are rolls, yogurt, and coffee. Not a lot of variety, and no fruit. An assortment of free amenities. Rooms are clean and quiet, bathroom tiny but adequate. Overall a good deal.

Great hotel in Yokohama suburb.

This is a great hotel, it is a short train ride from Yokohama station, around 10 minutes ride. It is very close to Totsuka station, there is a shopping mall (linked to the station) with convenient shops and restaurants, plus being a suburb there are local shops and restaurants close by - prices in restaurants were much cheaper than in central Yokohama. Breakfast was good - a buffet which was a mixture of Japanese and Western food. Staff were so friendly, and the room was really clean. I was worried as I booked a smoking room by accident, I tried to swap for a non-smoking room, but all the non-smoking rooms were booked. I should't have worried, the room did not smell smokey at all.

If you want to visit Yokohama then this is a great hotel to stay at.

Loved this hotel!

Stayed here for 9 nights and loved it! The rooms are small (typical for Japanese hotels), but very clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the bathroom and beds are great. The staff couldn't be nicer and more accommodating, from keeping our extra luggage while we were away for three days and having it already in our new room upon our return, to lending us an iron and ironing board, to speaking excellent English, to being totally kind and welcoming all the time. The location is fantastic--right next to the Totsuka train station (which is a well-connected transportation hub, including a stop for the Narita Express so you can go directly to the airport) and next to two malls, with ample shopping and restaurants. The outside looks much better in person than in pictures; we were pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied. We felt very at home here and would happily stay there again!

Pleasant surprise in small town.

Hotel is about 1 stop away from JR Yokohama Station if you take the rapid train (3 stops away on the normal train). Located very near JR Totsuka station and near shopping mall. Modern looking hotel with friendly front staff. Size of room is slightly bigger than Tokyo hotels. There's even a 2 seater sofa. Toiletries are well provided, especially for ladies.

Very good station with many shopping facilities...restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, sweets, shopping...everything you would desire. Easy to travel anywhere by train or subway. Hotel has modern facilities, excellent buffet breakfast, vending machines, laundry works well, very friendly staff. I usually travel to Japan every couple of years. I guarantee that I will return to this hotel next time too and I highly recommend it. Rooms are small as is normal in Japan but I adjusted to the small space very quickly. I could live in this hotel...and It's the first time I have ever felt that about any hotel I have ever spent time in...and there have been many ...from North America to Kyoto.

Great affordable hotel at Totsuka station

This is an excellent hotel considering the room prices and the location at Totsuka station. It is about 4-5 minutes walk from the station entrance through a small shopping mall so it is very easy to get to. The Narita Express even stops at Totsuka station so you can get here directly. The rooms are comparable to normal business-style hotels in Japan. All the usual amenities. The whole building was built very recently (~2010) so all is still brand new. Compared to other stations, the area around Totsuka is relatively quiet, but Chigasaki and Yokohama are very close so there's lots to do.

Gem in the middle - end hotels.

This was the best of the five medium level hotels we stayed in on our trip across Japan. The room was clean and attractive, the bed very comfortable and the view out the window was of a small green park. The service was exceptional, with English-speaking staff who could recommend good restaurants and answer cultural questions to prevent unintentional faux-pas. Transportation was exceptionally easy, with the train within five minutes of the hotel, through a shopping plaza. This hotel is one of a small chain of hotels in Toyko.

Good option for quick transfer into Kamakura

The hotel was a bit difficult to find from the map, but once we were settled in, we quickly figured out a fast way to the train station. The hotel itself was super, our rooms were clean and more spacious than most Japanese hotel rooms. The service level was high and the staff spoke better than average English. One of us used the in - room massage service and was very content with the results. We chose this hotel for its proximity to Kamakura, and it certainly is convenient for that, being on the Yokosuka line, however, it didn't seem like many other Western travelers had the same idea, so while I recommend this hotel, be certain to have the name of your train destination written down in kanji, as the station has very limited English signage.

Super clean and very well run hotel. Professional, friendly and helpful staff. At any time there was an English speaking staff member available. Very convenient location, 2 min from Totsuka JR train station (next to Yokohama, Kamakura and Ofuna, only about 40 min to Tokyo) and close to shops, supermarkets and restaurants.

Breakfast (continental option only) was not great, but with plenty of places to eat in close proximity to the hotel this was not a problem.

Suitable for various types of travelers. Overall - excellent value for money.

Nice affordable hotel to stay in Yokohama area.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. For us when visiting family, it is very convenient. Shopping and restaurants are steps to the hotel. Price is very reasonable, breakfast buffet is very good (love having salad at breakfast), breakfast room is relaxing as we can sit there and watch the city awake, the buses dropping off people, Expedia got us a fabulous rate of $56 per night which included the breakfast. The train station is adjacent to the hotel for easy travel to other areas of Yokohama. Staff try very hard to speak English and make us feel welcome. More foreigners were staying at the hotel than the last time we were there. Our room, although small, was adequate and the bed very comfortable. No views from any rooms, even from our 9th floor location. Would stay there again.
