The hotel is in a great and convenient location and is really close to Kyoto Station. The layout of the room is really good and makes it spacious enough for a solo traveler. The amenities are great. The staff are helpful and courteous. I would recommend to get breakfast with your booking as it is really good and lots of options. They also offer ramen at night if you are feeling hungry.

So happy I stayed at this location. The 9th floor onsen and sauna was extremely clean. The very Japanese breakfast was right up my alley! The selection was incredible and completely nourished me during long tourist days. There’s a Lawson kombini adjacent to the lobby. What a convenience! I stayed for 5 days total. It was terrific to have access to washer/dryers. They were located inside the onsen door. Ooh! I loved the free morning Yakult too. I never got to taste the evening ice sticks (popsicles) but I bet they were tasty. They were supplied on the 9th floor as post-onsen refreshments. The other guests were super quiet and respectful. I didn’t use the microwave in a nook on my floor but it certainly was nice that they had it. Of course, the ubiquitous fabulous vending machines were on my floor (the 8th) and I’m sure on many other floors. Thank you, Dormy Inn Premiun!

Perfect for solo travelers and would recommend their breakfast! Was lovely to wake up to an onsen and then breakfast! The only thing is I wish they offered softer pillows as my neck and shoulders hurt after sleeping (I think this is more of a western preference so just keep that in mind :) )

The room was very clean and more spacious than expected (stayed in the twin room). It’s ideal for sightseeing since they’re located close to JR Kyoto Station and they hold onto your belongings for you before check-in and after check-out! Onsen was not too crowded and is open all night until the following morning. Decent amenities (ie. moisturizer, cleanser, razor, hair band, shower cap). They also have nice freebies like ice cream at night and a probiotic drink in the morning. Amazing breakfast buffet with great traditional foods and some western options as well! :)

I highly recommend this location if you plan to travel around Kyoto heavily. The staff will treat you nicely and will address any questions or concerns. There are nearby konbini for budget travellers as well as the food courts and restaurants by the train station 2 minute walk away. There is also a shop for necessities next to the train station.

This hotel managed to get me to travel to 3-4 tourist attraction spots per day.

If you want to have a nice relaxing day in the onsen. I highly suggest going in around 3 AM as no one ever uses it during that period. (No free yogurt milk until 5 AM)

Laundry is very convenient to use (Free wash) nd you can read manga while your clothes dries.

You will receive fresh towels daily from staff so you won't need to worry about reusing it.

My only con is that the room was dusty, signs of spots not cleaned properly or maintained, but overall a good experience.

Dormy Inn Kyoto offers a great value for money. Rooms are spacious by Japanese standard and location can't be more central, with natural hot spring onsen and top class sauna facilities. Being right next to Kyoto Station you can literally go anywhere in 15-20 mins. Arashimaya, Gion, Kiyomizu Dera or Fushi Inari you step out of the hotel and you are on the way to the destination. Plenty top of the line food options at Kyoto station and Isetan. Two days was enough to get a full taste of Kyoto from Geisha hosted dining to the perfect shot at Bamboo Forest thank god I stayed at Dormy Inn. Lets go and do it all over again!

교토역사에서 우측 횡단보도 건너 불과 몇미터 로손과 붙어있지만 건물이 생각보다 작아서 눈에 띄지않아 시간이 걸렸다. 조금 오래되었지만 조용하고 깔끔한 조식과 온천이 있어 피로회복에 좋았어요.
단점이라면 방전체가 너무 어두움. 첫날 입실하고 보니 문틀과 가구위에 먼지가 쌓여있어 세심한 청소가 안되는 느낌을 받았다. 그리고 첫날 늦잠을 자서
조식시간에 늦었는데 식당입구 남자분이 인상을 쓰
며 5분안에 끝난다고 해서 부라부랴 먹는다고 정신이 없었는데 이미 와있던 서양인들이 잡담하며 오
래 식사하는 덕분에 10분 더 있을 수 있었다.
조식비는 이미 결재가 되었고 늦어서 당황한 고객에게 웃으면서 빨리 식사를 하라고 해도 좋지않은가

Nice hotel, the location is superb, about a 5min walk from Kyoto station, so it’s very centrally situated. Rooms were clean and a good size. We were given water and fresh towels daily; there’s also a water machine downstairs so no need to buy water at all while staying there. The highlight of the hotel for us was the public onsen, which had a hot spring, cold tub, and sauna. Absolutely amazing to be able to decompress there in the evening after lots of walking and sightseeing during the day. The onsens are gender segregated and you need to be undressed, so bear that in mind. But as long as you don’t have any hang ups about that, it’s an amazing amenity to have. Overall a great place to stay as a base of operations for exploring Kyoto.

Conveniently located to the train station (2 min walk), with a Lawson convenience store on the main floor, and the Kyoto tower food court a block away with lots of food options - Japanese and Western. Room was “cozy” and comfortable, onsen on the 9th floor was excellent! Really nice to have free noodles in the evening! Highly recommend for a budget friendly option.

I selected this hotel for its very convenient location. I was nicely suprised that on the 9th floor there is a lovely very secure and separate communcal bath for women, men's on the same floor. The breakfast was excellent. The bed very nice. I hightly recommend this hotel for the great value and super great extras! Also free ice cream between 3 and 9 p.m. The staff was excellent!

The onsen was so nice. Loved the pool that was open to the sky- one time allowing soft rain to fall; another time watching clouds drift by the blue sky while immersed in the hot water. Free washing machines and free ice cream were a big plus! Plus so close to the train station. Comfortable beds.

This is an older property. Our room was an odd layout with twin beds. There was a fridge. Heated toilet. TV. But the whole room felt worn and dated. The hotel staff: no interaction, as check in was automated. Hard to review staff when machines have taken over. We were conveniently located next to the Kyoto station. That’s really about all.

It’s a short walk from the Kyoto Station if one comes out from the right side of the station. Unfortunately, I came out from the other side and google map made me go a big round of 15 minutes instead. Find the exit for the taxi stand and you’ll do fine. I had booked a superior room and that gave me space to lay out my big luggage. Room decor needs a refresh but have otherwise been maintained. Same facilities and amenities as other premium dormy inn.

Wow! I wish I had booked all my hotels at Dormy Inn. I left my bags and the staff had them in my room by the time I checked in. The hotel is almost across from Kyoto Station. There are many good dining options around. The onsen is the best I have tried in Japan. The room is large and overall I would highly recommend this hotel. Location, service, little details made my stay excellent!

Staff have very difficult time understanding and speaking in English. Very hard to explain and convey complains. We book this hotel bec of location and has onsen inside. Hotel staff does not check people who come inside the women spa, doea not follow rules - using cellphone, towels and very noisy inside the spa. I complained but they said they cannot check all the time. I told them i was dressing up, a teenager was using her cellphone inside even though there is a big sign no cellphone allowed. I am not considering coming back nor will not recommend this hotel to other family or friends.
