We always stay at Batman’s hill on collins, beds are so comfortable, staff are friendly and helpful and it’s always clean. Only down side is in apartments and some cheaper rooms tv doesn’t load streaming services or it does but keeps disconnecting.

Check in was easy, building and decor very tired and damaged in lots of places. Difficult to negotiate stairs with suitcases etc. no instructions in room for use of TV. Mattress way too soft and uncomfortable. Water pressure not good at all and kept going cold whilst showering. Room service not good, phoned reception at 1015 pm to order a glass of wine to be told no as bar shut!!

The bed was horrendous and pillows needed throwing out. Here for two days and room not serviced. Have stayed at least 50 nights and this was the worst time ever. Need to find a new place to stay.

Great location to Spencer Street train station.
Room practically set out, with easy to use air con.
Disappointing that bar staff were not open for the supposed 5 - 7pm happy hour. (We left after waiting 15minutes for them to open) So we went down the road to a lively traditional pub.

Breakfast was average but hash browns well pass cooked stage, waffles awful.

Overall memory is of a the wonderful welcome at Reception. A comfortable stay.

The room was huge (we stayed in a studio apartment) and so quiet considering the central location… directly across the road from Southern Cross Station, and a tram stop practically outside the door! The hotel is in a gorgeous old building with a lot of character, but internally it is very modern. We would absolutely stay again as the location was perfect to explore Melbourne city and surrounds!

The front desk at the hotel could t find my reservation. And it was only after an hour of going back and forth with Expedia and the front desk. They could finally find the booking. Apparently they have a few different systems they use to confirm reservations.
The hotel is in a convenient location to get around Melbourne, right opportune train station. However, it does seem a bit shady outside at night.
The hotel and room are showing their age and felt like it is in need of a renovation. Overall, not too bad for a one night stay while transiting.

We always stay at this hotel when we are in Melbourne. It’s very convenient location wise. You can walk or catch transport so easily from the hotel. There’s lots of stores and restaurants near by too. The hotel also offers luggage storage which makes it so easy to get on with your day, even if you arrive earlier than check in time. Our one night twin bed room was oblong shaped with a bathroom glass cubicle ,wash basin and toilet seat all cramped into a single person's space with the door closed; at one end. There was no privacy if 2 persons were to use the facilities simultaneously. The lift to access the room from the reception was separated by a series of 6 up or down steps.Depending on the reception staff ,check in male was indifferent while checking out female staff was obliging enough to offer to carry our luggage up the steps to the hall . Room carpet was dark dirty green or plain black to hide the soil well.But no obvious odour.It cost $ 254.42 with tax for the one night without breakfast ( additional $48 for 2 ordinary breakfasts).The best it offers is the location near to the Southern Cross station. However, getting to the room with heavy luggage from the street involved finding the sliding gangway around the corner, getting a lift to reception, lifting luggage down 6 steps to another lift.

The room we had faced the street and the lights that were used to illuminate either the hotel sign or the street made it so bright in the room, for rooms on that side there should have better blackout curtains to combat this. It was 1 am and we still thought it was light outside until we looked at our phones. For a one night stay it was alright but walls are very thin and can hear every single door close when people leave there rooms. Staff were very nice

The room was ok. It was an ok size for the money, a bit weird with the sink in the main room rather than the bathroom. The room was faced onto Spencer St so thank goodness I brought my ear plugs. The room is in need of a facelift and the worst thing was the horrible smell that I’m sure was coming from the bathroom.

Room was the size of a dog box. Shower pressure poor and hot water was only like warm.

Very disappointed as had booked months before with friends and they got bumped to another hotel the day before trip. Ruined our itinerary as they were now 1/2 hour from us. Will probably never stay here again in case this happens once more. Happy to take $ then say overbooked and we have moved you. Thanks for your understanding. No understanding just anger.

We got bumped from Batman on Collins to an other hotel. I received an email 24hrs before asking me to ring the hotel because we had been moved. I rang them & was told maintenance issues. We had booked this hotel along with our friends 5 months earlier because we were attending a concert & wanted to stay in the same hotel. They weren't moved. We had booked because of location, opposite Southern Cross. We were moved to Ibis on Therry St 30 minutes walk away. We overhead at the Ibis that Batman Hill knew they were overbooked the weekend before!!! Ibis staff were lovely & we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment but it wasn't the location we had chosen & paid for.

Staff were pretty good. Location was perfect for our needs.

Biggest complaint was the room had no windows. It had a skylight that was blacked out.

The room itself was neat and tidy but I feel if you’re offering a room that varies from normal expectations you should highlight it to the customer.
