We had a lovely room with a large bathtub. The bed was very comfortable. The town lost power but we still had hot water which was awesome as it allowed us to have hot showers in the morning. They also made arrangements for a complimentary hot breakfast our second morning when the power was back on.
Holly was excellent and enabled us to check in even without the power. She was there to assist us right away.
Heather was our server and was wonderful as well when we had breakfast. Breakfast was delicious.
The only note that I would make is that the stairs to the room were narrow but more then manageable as long as you don’t have over large luggage.

This was repeat business. Already stayed in that room years before. Very spacious and quiet. Loved the complimentary Wafer biscuits! Continental Breakfast, well catered for, in the Bar/Bakery is a clever culinary trap! Once the Scones/Shortbread/Cakes get out of the kitchen, spreading amzing smells, one feels compelled to purchase those delicacies for later in your trip. Staff super friendly. Ever so lucky to find a space in main street to park the car. Very practical place to stop whether you are going North or catching a ferry towards Islay or driving to the Mull of Kintyre. Recommends

Easily the most charming hotel ever!

Four of us (all adults) spent two nights in Inverary and had reserved three rooms at the hotel months in advance.
From the very first interaction with the staff, we were in love. Our rooms were large and comfortable, with lots of natural light and a beautiful view of the main street. One of our rooms was across the street, which gave us the chance to take fun photos of us waving and yelling to each other! The bathroom in my room was surprisingly big and while we only used the clawfoot tub to do some laundry, it was a nice treat! The cafe was bustling both mornings we were there and served delicious breakfast foods. I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee and quite time in the garden! We heard some locals enjoying themselves out in the street in the first night, but it was a Friday, after all ... we still slept well!

A perfect launching point for visiting all of Northwest Scotland. The staff was amazing and helpful. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and very clean. Large modern bathroom as well as all the little touches that made the stay very personal and far exceeded my expectations, especially for the cost!
The town of Inverary is also amazing. Plenty of dining options that are walkable from the hotel. All were EXCELLENT.
The only item I would mention to keep in mind is to ask for a room away from the road if you are a light sleeper as you can hear the cars passing. They thoughtfully offer ear plugs and night masks as well, so I slept very well in their comfy beds.

Very nice en suite room. Fairly new build. Staying for couple of nights bed and breakfast. Room very nice. Some dusting had been missed on the bedside lamps. Bathroom floor looked a bit grubby. Laminate on worktop where sink is had split, possibly due to water ingress and could pose a hazard for slicing open finger/hand. Shower pressure could be better. Heater was not on when we arrived. I phoned reception and they came over 10 minutes later and showed us how to set temperature. She did apologise saying housekeeping should have set that already. Breakfast was very nice and good choice

One of the best places I have ever stayed! Small hotel run by the owners right in Inveraray with a great cafe. We were in the Attic Apartment and it was huge, clean and comfortable. The owner Stuart was kind, friendly and walked us up to our room upon arrival and greeted us at breakfast the next morning. The breakfast in the cafe was delicious and a special shout out to Heather our server, perhaps one of the most friendly and welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Please book at Brambles if you want exceptional service, value and quality!

The staff in the restaurant was amazing and this room was absolutely lovely. Be prepared to take your suitcase upstairs because there is no lift but the stairs aren’t steep like in other areas of the hotel. The tub was absolutely wonderful and perfect for soaking. The sky light style windows have shades but I slept with them open because you got a view of the city and the drizzle.

We stayed in the Attic room which is enormous and well appointed. A good kitchen area, comfortable lounge and a very nice bedroom with masses of cupboard space. The staff in the cafe restaurant were lovely snd a really helpful check in. We'll be back and would heartily recommend it.

We were very disappointed with our stay because the walls were paper thin and my husband had to sleep on the bathroom floor as there was a loud snorer right on the other side of the wall (obviously the headboard was there and the bed in our room was next to it too). Not impressed.

The architects of Inverary Castle designed the village at the same time, around 1765, so the village is showing its age. But, I felt Brambles has done a nice job of keeping the premises very nice, considering the buildings age.

My room, #7, was most tastefully decorated with beautiful,vintage furnishings. Very clean and comfortable. I slept SO well. Had a Caramel Log with a cuppa tea upon arrival,it was a really nice wee touch for an ex-pat. The bathroom was modern and the claw bath was heavenly. Check in at the Cafe was easy,as was check out. Karen was so helpful and lovely, as was Cindy in housekeeping and all the staff at the Brambles Cafe.
I would highly recommend Brambles Hotel and would definitely stay there again. Many thanks to all and bravo to the owners, Victoria and Stuart !!

This was a quick overnight stay. The room was big as was the bathroom. Everything was very clean, quiet. Unfortunately we couldn’t eat breakfast in the cafe as we needed to catch a ferry and they were late opening. We later came back and ate lunch at the cafe - quite tasty.

The Brambles is definitely not suitable for people who cannot negotiate a steep spiral stairway to access rooms. This coupled with luggage and the wish to go out several times a day: breakfast,meals, sightseeing and shopping is made very difficult unless you only wish to leave your room and return once a day.Add to this you are required to cross a busy main road for breakfast to the Brambles cafe. The rooms were clean though dated and the king sized bed uncomfortable and the smallest king size I’ve ever seen. The owners were more focussed on a crew who were filming in Inveraray the following day which closed their coffee shop and cafe. Breakfast that day was to be had and out for 9am. Not the relaxing break we had hoped for. Wouldn’t return or recommend. Inveraray has far better to offer the tourist on a relaxing break. Highlight: the toilet was spotless and had a magnificent monsoon shower.
There were no staff on the premises, no bar , room service or food to order. Was more akin to letting a Brambles apartment not staying in Brambles Hotel.

The place its self was adorable and lovley
But unfortunately the noise levels coming from the cafe below up the chimney into your room made you feel as if everyone was actually in your room.
The noise levels totally spoiled what was meant to be a quiet break for me and my husband away from the hustle of glasgow and our 3 kids lol
If peace is what your after this venue may not be the right place for you.

Have to say the complete team is young but lovely, realy friendly and helpful and very good at what they do. The food they was cooking was very yummy.

The room (4) was large, very comfortably furnished and heated. Bathroom was amazing. Both rooms very clean.
Downsides - no lift up to 2nd floor with restricted passage for large suitcases. No dinner available in-house in the evening but was available in The George further up the street.

Great Hotel, just make sure to book evening meal

Excellent hotel right in the centre of the main street, with rooms in two separate buildings either side of the street. We were offered a free upgrade to the Attic apartment, which was very spacious, modern and well furnished with its own separate lounge.
Parking was in the street in front of the hotel, which was great- note that the street signs are misleading as they seem to imply that there is a maximum time limit, but we were advised by hotel staff that it was free provided we could find a space. People stop for relatively short periods, so there were spaces appearing regularly.
The only thing which prevents this getting full marks is the lack of a restaurant for evening meals- the hotel is manned and operated from the coffee shop on the ground floor and breakfast is served from here, which is very good and made to order.
However, it is closed in the evenings, so any visitor just needs to be aware that they will need to make a booking elsewhere for an evening meal and there are very few options in Inverary so this could catch people out in high season.
This should not put anyone off staying though, it really is excellent- would recommend booking an evening meal at The George just next door.

Unique property in that you feel like you’re in a B&B but there is no host on site, nor a restaurant. The rooms we had were lovely old rooms with a cottage feel. Plenty of tea (and fresh coffee from the coffee shop across the road). The Brambles has a restaurant next door to the sleeping quarters and the breakfasts we had were all very good. A great place to stay and some interesting things to see in the area such as Inveraray Jail and Inveraray Castle.

And old building with smelly drain issues

A nasty drain smell from the bathroom permeated our room No 11 and the room apartment above which we also saw. A few other reviews I've seen mentioned this. It could be weather dependent.

The staff seemed nonchalant about the pong. Not much they can do I suppose, it's an old building. You do get used to the smell after a few minutes, unless you go back into the bathroom.

The staff may not notice the smell as much themselves. We certainly did and it put me off using the lovely free standing bath which I'd brought my own bubble bath for :-(

Apart from this, the rooms do have a premium feel. Bed very comfy and it was great to stay for once in a room with the same size as our own bed back home. If you are a light sleeper outside traffic could wake you up but I had no issues.

If i had one fault it would be that cafe closes at 8pm,for a few drinks you would need to book either George Hotel or Inveraray Inn. These hotels are very busy so book to avoid disappointment. Very good accommodation, nice large bedroom and bathroom and all very clean. Centrally located, with on-street parking and the Bistro offers good food and breakfast.
Only thing to watch out for is that many of the bedrooms are accessed by a spiral staircase which is quite steep and during Covid period Guests have to carry their own luggage, so could present difficulties to some.

Stuart was friendly and welcoming the room (no 12) was comfortable with little touches of luxury. the whole place was clean, warm and very relaxing, thank you. We didn't have breakfast but it looked superb as was my take away coffee.

The actual room was gorgeous.. The staff amazing. The breakfast.. Not good.. Quality wasn't up to much. Had to pay for cuppa separately. £24 for 2 breakfasts.. Shame because rest is fab

Little Gem

Spacious, comfortable room and bathroom for an overnight stay in Inveraray. Super central location with free on street parking available outside. As expected from a front facing room we could hear lorries going along the main road but as the town has no bypass not much anyone can do about that an not too intrusive. We bought breakfast at the Brambles cafe across the road and both went for the full Scottish breakfast at £9. I don’t eat eggs so asked if it was possible to swap the eggs for another bit of bacon. I was told yes by the server but then they added an extra £2 to my bill for one slice of bacon as 2 small bits came as the standard. I mentioned that it was a swap not an extra but they refused to remove the charge or apologise which was very disappointing and left a bad taste. The breakfast ingredients were tasty and good quality but with just one slice of toast and not a very big portion it was not worth £9 or indeed £11.
