Perfect Getaway
This was our 3rd visit to Torfhaus Resort Hotel. It is our favorite. The location in the Harz Mountains is serene, but also full of possibilities for hiking, biking, and quick travel to picturesque towns. The houses/cabins at the resort are maintained in excellent condition. There is plenty of room for a family. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a meal and looking at the beautiful views of the forest. We accidentally left some belongings at the hotel. The staff was very gracious and quickly shipped them to us. This is a well-run, top quality resort offered at a very affordable price.

Fantastic cottages in the Harz mountains!
This is my 16th trip to Germany. The Torfhaus Resort rates as one of the best experiences that I have ever had. The location is perfect for hiking, biking, sightseeing or just relaxing. It is in the forest, but close to Altenau, Braunlage and other larger communities. The cottages are in excellent shape with the most modern appliances. Staff is very professional and always on duty. We also used the fitness room and were pleased with the up-to-date equipment. Most important---my wife thought the Torfhaus was fantastic. I recommend the Bavaria restaurant that is only a few steps away from the Hotel and Lodges.

Gemütliches und ruhiges Hotel mitten im Harz. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in die Umgebung, z. B. auf den Brocken, oder für Touren auf dem Mountainbike. Mit der Gästekarte können die vorhandenen Buslinien kostenlos genutzt werden um auch die Orte in der Umgebung zu erkunden, z. B. Goslar oder Wernigerode. Zwei Restaurants bieten ausreichend Abwechslung fürs Abendessen und Frühstücksbuffets. Zwei kleine Saunen und ein paar Fitnessgeräte können genutzt werden sowie ein umfangreiches Angebot an Massagen oder Wellnessanwendungen. Eine klare Empfehlung.

Utroligt smukt beliggende hytter i bjergene med vandreruter til Brocken og lige ved siden af nationalpark center Harz, som er et besøg værd.
Der er restaurant ved hytterne, men derudover ingen faciliteter, dvs nærmeste indkøb er i Bad Harzburg. Der er ingen legeplads eller lignende til børnene.
Hytten er i god stand og ren og pæn. Meget fin sauna. Komforten mangler lidt, da der ingen bløde møbler findes i hytten!

Stanza piccola anche se nuova. Purtroppo la colazione non è servita ma è data da asporto. Non c’è ristorante e nessu caffè vicino per una colazione. Bene la sauna e il relax. Prezzo troppo alto per il servizio offerto. Non c’è servizio lavanderia.

War alles toll. Nur ein Frühstücksbüfett haben, wir vermisst. Weil sich ein neues Restaurant im Bau befindet, wurde ein Frühstück to go angeboten. Das war aber für 10 Euro recht teuer. Es gab keine Auswahl und war somit ein Überraschungspaket, aber keine Alternative für ein nomales Frühstück.

Wir waren für einen Kurzurlaub im Torfhaus, ich kannte das Hotel schon von einem früheren Aufenthalt, alles super, einzig dass es kein Fruhstückangebot gab sondern nur ein Lunchpaket war etwas schlecht, jedoch wurde zumindest an den Werktagen in der benachbarten Alm ein Frühstückbuffet angeboten.

The hotel was fine. Pleasant staff in reception. Breakfast was disappointing. It was served from 7.30 to approx 10.00. We arrived for breakfast every day at 9.00 On most of the days there was no bacon, very little scrambled egg and even fewer boiled eggs left. For a Four star hotel there is definately room for improvement as far as breakfast is concerned.

Unser Urlaub war Perfekt! Das Zimmer war wunderschön und stylisch eingerichtet. Sehr ruhig, hatten das Zimmer nach hinten raus mit Brockenblick. Im Zimmer hatten wir einen großen Flachbildschirm und super WLAN Empfang. Alles war sehr sauber!

Spontan mit Familie gebucht, für 4 Nächte, alles perfekt! Wir waren alle begeistert von dem Haus, top Zustand, alles sauber, im Haus fehlte es an nichts, Geschirr ausreichend und alles vorhanden (auch alles Tip Top sauber). Wir werden bestimmt nochmal wieder kommen. Die Lage ist auch super man kann von dort aus so vieles in kurzer Zeit erreichen und natürlich direkt vor Ort Wandern, mehrere tolle Strecken.
