Fantastic staff from first contact at reception to the gentleman serving at the bar. The set menu in the evening was fantastic, as was the breakfast buffet. The building is very attractive. Some of the interior would benefit from an update. We will definitely return.

Lovely hotel in the Harz Mountains. Located next to a small lake in the centre of the small town with a few restaurants in walking distance. You need a car but very quick to get to all the main sights in the mountains Service very good. rooms lovely only some have lake views. Diiner limited menu and fairly expensive but very good with large portions. Breakfast a really good choice with it topped up throughout service and with eggs cooked to order. Would definately stay here again if in the area

Nice & quiet location. Friendly staff and excellent food, especially the surprise 3 course dinner. The hotel is also dog friendly, and you can bring your dog in the restaurant at dinner time.

Stunning setting in beautiful German village
Everything about staying in this hotel was wonderful. That includes pre - arrival communications. The hotel manager right through to housekeeping were delightful and extremely helpful.
I recommend making dinner reservations so you can sit right by the water - it's just delightful. I can also recommend using one of the hotel bikes to explore the area or take a packed lunch pack and go for a hike.
The Suites next to the lake are amazing - can highly recommend staying in one of those, enables you to enjoy a meal and glass of wine on your private balcony.

Beautiful hotel in great location
We had a mini break (6 days) in this excellent hotel and really enjoyed our time there. The facilities (pool and three saunas) were great, as was the breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed roaming the village and went on a local forest walk past the Castle and two monasteries. Beautiful views.
There are many attractions close to Ilsenburg (within 30 m) which are worth visiting, e.g the UNESCO World Heritage site Quedlinburg with its 2069 medieval houses and churches, and the city of Goslar.
Wernigerode is also beautiful, and you can take a small train from there to go to the Brocken, the highest \"mountain\" (just over 1100 metres) in the area. We did not run out of places we wanted to see.
The area is great for hiking and it is possible to rent all sorts of bikes.

A very nice stay
We had two very comfortable nights stay with a four year old. It was family friendly, breakfast was very well catered and the staff were attentive. Views over the lake were good, although our room didn't have the best view. The spa was excellent too.

Personnel was friendly, the food was great and surrounding area is beautiful. Our only concern was the size of the room and the size of the towels. The latter, however, is a national complaint and not specific to this hotel.

Einzigartiges gab es nicht. Es ist sehr gemütlich im Hotel, gute Atmosphäre. Das Personal super höflich. Essen usw. alles hervorragend. Das Mobiliar ist leider schon in die Jahre gekommen, was nicht zu übersehen ist. Dies hatte ich mir für 4 Sterne- Preis/Leistung etwas anders vorgestellt.

Zuvorkommend, mitdenkend und vom House Keeping bis zum Barchef immer freundlich - nicht aufgesetzt, sondern ehrlich.
Man möchte Whisky trinken, weiß aber noch nicht, welchen? Kein Problem, wir probieren uns durch die Sorten.
Man möchte eine Zigarre rauchen, aber es gibt keine Smokers Lounge? Kein Problem, wir finden einen gemütlichen, geschützten Platz draussen und bringen Polster und Decke.

Die Lage in der Region ist einfach super. Das Personal sehr nett und stets bemüht jeden erfüllbaren Wunsch zu realisieren. Das Frühstück ist super und auch jede weitere Mahlzeit ist sehr lecker. In Schwimmbad und Sauna kann man locker die Seele baumeln lassen. Uns hat es rundum echt gefallen. Wir kommen wieder und können es nur weiter empfehlen !!!

Das Landhaus zu den rothen Forellen hat uns im Großen und Ganzen gut gefallen, aber ein 5 Sterne Hotel ist es eher nicht. 4 Sterne wären passend. Der Empfang war freundlich, man zeigte uns das Zimmer. Das Zimmer war ok, etwas älter, aber charmant und sauber. Die Dusche war keine Dusche sondern eher nur eine Badewanne. Es gab weder Duschvorhang noch eine Kabine. Man konnte nur im Sitzen duschen. Ein anderes Problem war, dass der Wasserdruck so schwach war, dass man da nicht duschen konnte. Hätten wir dies an der Rezeption gemeldet, hätte man uns bestimmt ein anderes Zimmer gegeben, aber wir hatten keine Lust auf einen Zimmerwechsel und da wir sowieso nur 2 Nächte dort waren, haben wir am zweiten Tag im Spa geduscht. Die Zimmer haben keine Klimaanlage, die Luft in den Zimmern war mies. Überraschenderweise gab es in den Zimmern keine Rauchmelder. Eigentlich Pflicht, dachte ich. Das Spa ist optisch aus den 90er Jahren aber noch gepflegt und die Dame die dort arbeitet ist sehr freundlich gewesen. Das Spa ist auch sauber. Obwohl es kinderfreie Zeiten gibt, werden diese nicht eingehalten, so wurde das Spa auch zu den Badezeiten für Erwachsene, zu einem Spaßbad mit viel Lärm.

It was a nice hotel however, we selected this hotel regarding the 5 stars and the good recommendations of the kitchen/restaurant.
The room was very simple, no shower only a bath with no curtains around. for showering so every morning we had to go to the poolside and sauna for showering because showering in our room was a mess and very difficult to shower in only a small bath.
We had dinner in the restaurant and selected the menu. That was really a disappointment! The meandish was a combination of potatoes creme, sauce, some vegetables and pieces of chicken. All together and stapled at one plate. We didn't have any diner there after. The breakfast was all-right however where the 5-stars came from, we really don't know. We're traveling a lot in Europe and Turkey and the 5-stars we've seen are much more better than this one. So, 4 stars is more than enough for this hotel. The personal /Staff was very friendly and professional.

Sehr freundliches, aufmerksames Personal. Alles in Allem waren es Kleinigkeiten, die man verbessern könnte. Der Fernseher ist zu klein und hängt viel zu weit oben. Es wäre ausreichend Platz vorhanden. Das winzige Eckwaschbecken in der Toilette ist unpraktisch in dem eigentlich für ein großes Waschbecken ausreichend großen Raum. Das 'Gleiche gilt für die viel zu schmalen Saunaliegen in der großen, sehr schönen Außensauna.
Schade.

Wunderschönes Hotel in Top-Lage
Wir (2 Erwachsene, 1 Kind) haben 4 Tage in diesem wirklich wunderschönen Hotel in Ilsenburg verbracht. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral und vom Restaurant aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf den Dorfteich. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und auch Kinder sind in diesem Hotel sehr willkommen. Das Zimmer und der Service ließen keine Wünsche offen, es war an alles gedacht worden. Auf dem Zimmer wartete einen persönlich an uns adressiertes Schreiben und etwas Obst zur Begrüßung. Der Wellnessbereich mit Pool und Sauna ist optisch sehr gut gestaltet und eine Teebar mit kostenlosem Tee und Wasser und ein extra Ruheraum und ein Whirlpool haben diesen Bereich abgerundet. Es wird eine Vielzahl an Anwendungen wie Massagen etc. angeboten, das haben wir aber nicht in Anspruch genommen und können es daher nicht bewerten. Das Frühstück war HERVORRAGEND - es blieben keine Wünsche übrig. Jede Art von Heißgetränk konnte geordert werden, selbst frische Pfannkuchen waren auf Wunsch mit inbegriffen. Das Essen im Restaurant war ebenfalls spitze. Die Preise sind recht hoch, allerdings entspricht dies auch dem hohen Standard der Qualität der angebotenen Speisen und Getränke dieses 5***** Hotels. Wir haben schweren Herzens Abschied genommen und freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Aufenthalt !!!
