When we arrived we were given a ticket to park the car in their own private car park, which was very helpful.

The room was spacious and the amenities were well kept and clean.

A very good location also, as it was placed in a beautiful part of Wernigerode but also only 10 minutes walk away from 2 of the Harz Railway stations and a mainline station.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

Arosa is a beautiful Hotel. My problem was that our bed was absolutely terrible. We sank in on both sides and had to sleep on an incline. I complaint the next morning and Lin at the reception assured my that they will fix the problem and I will have a wonderful night. Guess what nothing happened. A service like this was ok in DDR times but not nowadays und especially not for € 250.00 per night. Otherwise the location and the hotel itself is beautiful.

We really loved this hotel. Convenient walk from where we parked on the street; in a restricted traffic area so you can easily bring your luggage inside. Quick check in and friendly service. Beautiful hotel with elegant finishes. The breakfast was our absolute favorite of the entire trip! We only spent two days and one night in wenigerode but when we visit again I would stay at this hotel.

I traveled to Wernigerode for business but would love to come back on vacation. The town is charming and in a beautiful region of the Harz mountains. An old fashioned steam train provides regular runs from town up to the mountains.The Travel Charme Gothisches Haus hotel is right in the center of the old section of the town making it an enjoyable location to walk from to explore the area. The hotel has a great full buffet breakfast each morning and an in house spa. It provided a relaxing quiet oasis after a day of work and walking around the town. This is my second time to stay at this hotel and the experience was just as good as the first. There is also a full bar and restaurant located inside the hotel.

\"Charming\" hotel in great location.

Travel Charm Hotel is located right in the heart of the market square in Weinigerode. The room was narrow, but nicely furnished. Our room looked out on a garden area and was extremely quiet. The only problem we had was with our air conditioner, which never got the room cool enough for sleeping in early July. We never had it checked out, so our bad. Restaurant was memorable. Nice setting looking out on the square and great service with delicious food. Probably best eating in town. Wine was pricey, but food pretty close to normal price for the quality. Breakfast served in several room settings, wonderful seliction of food and impeccable tidiness of tables. Staff was great all around.

We stayed for 3 nights during the \"Annual Rathausfest\" June 17-19, 2016. We stayed in a Suite towards the courtyard which was very nice and quiet, even though life music was on stage nearby the hotel. If time permits, I would recommend to also see Quedlinburg and Goslar, beautiful little towns nearby, during the stay.

A Harz historical gem

This is a very historic hotel which has been tastefully restored. The furnishings and fittings are exceptional. Food and service excellent.
Some rooms however have small 'dormer windows' so may feel dark to some. It is a pity that in such a quality hotel, coffee and tea cannot be provided in the room - maybe a 'german' quirk. For anyone wanting to explore the Harz, including the excellent steam railway, this is an ideal quality base.

Right in the centre of this picturesque town

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend in a Comfort Twin Room. The hotel is right in the centre of the town but is quiet. Facilities are very good with a good breakfast and a restaurant that offers a choice of a buffet or complete a la carte. We tried both. Nice spa, helpful staff. Easy walking access to other restaurants nearby if needed. Our room was large but a little utilitarian.

Well worth a visit

Just booked for a short break on our way from Frankfurt to North Germany. Last time in the Harz Mountain area was in the 1970s. What a find a beautiful place. Do take the steam train journey to Brocken as its worth it. Spend hours just walking round the street of Wernigerode looking at the old biuldings.

Wonderful location in Market Square of Aldstadt

Overall, we had a lovely stay in Wernigerode. We were there for four nights. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and had two dinners at the hotel restaurant. The food and wine were good but a little overpriced for the area and quality. Our room was comfortable and clean. The location couldn't be any better. The only negative is our welcome was lacking. The front desk clerk, who checked us in could not have been any unfriendlier if she tried! She bordered on rudeness. We were exhausted from a long drive and arrived at 22:00. There was water behind her and she didn't offer us any. I was thirsty after our 6 hour journed from southern Germany, but was too embarrassed to ask her for the water. Interestingly, my husband and I whitnessed her offering the water and giving a friendly welcome the next evening to German speaking guests. We began to wonder if Americans just weren't welcome.She was cold, unsmiling, not willing to answer our questions. I asked her about wifi and she interupted me and said very rudely (like she was punishing a child) \" I will get to that\". I just didn't want to forget to ask because at our previous hotel, they only gave a WIFI code if we asked fro one. I asked for tourist information on the area and she also didn;t seem to want to help us. So I was direct and asked if there was anyone else at the hotel who could guide us as visitors, unfamiliar with the harz, to some fun activites and towns. At that point she pulled a train schedule out.

Nice hotel in a castle town

The hotel is located in the main Plaza of the town is a great walking location and the castle is the best attraction. Breakfast is great. The hotel bar has a great bar tender and the drinks are not too expensive. For the price you wouldn't get something similar in any hotel in the States

Charme Gothisches in Wernigrode Hartz Mountains

Top hotel with central location in main square. Very quiet at night as church bells stop between 11pm and 7am.Lots of nearby restaurants and 'british style' quirky pubs serving great wine and local beer. Only 15 mins walk from main train station and very handy for excursions into the Hartz on the fabulous steam railway network. Apart from the hotel, it's worth noting that there is very little English spoken in the area and not many restaurants have English translations for their menus.

We arrived at the hotel in the middle of the afternoon after a long and tiring journey from the UK. We were immediately offered a drink and then guided to our room which was clean and of a good size. The breakfasts gave a wide choice of food and drink, sufficient for all tastes and appetites. One slight criticism was that the hotel was rather warm but there was no air conditioning.

This hotel has it all... great facility in a great location! The town is absolutely storybook and this is right on the main square. Staff is polite and very helpful. Our room was modern and had nice amenities (eg. robe and slippers). We overlooked an interior courtyard, nice and quiet. They offer parking, which is a must in this area. Breakfast buffet is huge!!

Great Hotel, Great Location, Bad in-room Wi-Fi

Let me first say that I wouold have given this hotel 5 stars if the in-room Wi-Fi was better. I was in the area for business and reliable internet was a necessity. When I first checked into my room I couldn't even recieve a Wi-Fi signal on my laptop, tablet, or phone. I went to the front desk, told them the situation and they switched me to another room. I had to the same issue in that room, so I reluctantly went back to the front desk (I didn't want to be that eternally unsatisifed customer) told them about the situation again and they switched me to another room. Same issue occured...no Wi-Fi signal. At that point I gave up. I ended up having to sit out on the stairs in the hallway to get a decent Wi-Fi signal. For 24euros I expected reliable internet. The hotel is clean and beautiful with amazing service, a great restaurant with an amazing breakfast that was included in the price, and is right in the middle of the downtown pedestrian zone. When you walk out of the hotel entrance and look up the hill you see a beautiful castle. You couldn't ask for a better location. There is parking located next to the hotel for about 12euro per day if you let the hotel staff know that you are parking a car, if not, it is 14euro per day. I would definitely stay at this hotel again even with the poor Wi-Fi service.

Beautiful old hotel with up-to-date interior. Well situated out to the square - in the city centre. Very clean everywhere in the hotel. Good hotel service. Super location. Parking too expensive, I think. We paid 12.- euros for 'one night' just for parking in the garage. You also have to pay for wi-fy. Should be free! Restaurant very good. Reception gave us good service. Wernigerode is indead a visit worth. Lots of small shops in this small and cozy city.

Superb, more than met expectations. One piece of advice, evening meal at hotel is about E32.00 each, whereas Expedia had this for £10 (ish) p.p.p.n. when we booked, well worth it. Hotel well situated in town centre, train and bus stations about 15-20 mins walk, OK normally but E20.00 return for taxi is better with luggage. Bus travel free on production of pass supplied by hotel - on payment of tourist tax E2.50 p.p.p.n, another bargain.

There is a calm, welcoming feel to this hotel. Service was prompt and efficient and there if needed, but not in your face. Breakfasts were superb - fabulous range and well presented. Can't comment on the other food options as we ate elsewhere during our stay but did seem a touch pricey, but then it is a top class hotel. Superb spa area.

Utterly relaxing...

This is the perfect hotel in which to take a break to recharge your batteries; from the moment you enter the lobby you know that you are going to be comfortable and well looked after; and if this is your first visit, the location will stagger you, with its wonderful outlook onto the main square. The breakfast buffet is the best we've ever experienced, and if you don't feel like venturing out after a busy day's sightseeing, the Saturday buffet is varied and good value, if not exactly fine dining. Rooms are quiet (except for the 7am drilling one morning!)and spacious, the water is always hot whatever the hour, and the furnishings generous and comfortable. This was our 2nd visit and we still didn't want to leave!

Just didn't want to leave!

From the moment wearrived, we knew that we were in for a relaxing, comfortable break. The hotel's situation is perfect, in the main square next to the Rathaus, and a few minutes' walk from other attractions. Our room overlooking the garden was peaceful and extremely comfortable, and as others have said, the hotel's breakfast is just SUPERB. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there were no negative aspects at all, except, possibly, the menu prices in the evening, but as there are so many other eateries within 2 minutes' walk, this wasn't a problem. We made good use of the Harz visitors' pass given us at check-in, travelling for free to Quedlinburg and back on the extremely efficient service. We also bought a 3-day pass for the narrow-gauge railways, so much better value than individual tickets. The whole town and area is charming, and as long as you are prepared to speak a little German, there's a lot to discover. We went for the tailways, but fell in love with the area, and plan to go back if we can!

I never normally get hotel breakfast as it's so often a disappointment. But A-rosa gothisches was fantastic. Room was clean and very nicely themed in mediaeval style with thick wooden beams and classy furnishings. Bed was very comfortable, but awkwardly was just two single beds pushed together without even a king mattress topper or king sized sheet to mask the gap. Air conditioner didn't do anything other than move a bit of air around, only time we could cool the room below 25 degrees was opening windows at night, which was very noisy until around midnight. View was nice out the window into the square (although construction on the building next door ruined it a bit that's not the fault of the hotel). Shower door leaked badly as I discovered after flooding the bathroom. Showerhead was on a hose style, an overhead rain style one would be a nice simple improvement that would also minimise water egress out the door. All staff were very polite, many were genuinely nice and helpful. Parking was easy, once you found the hotel. Great location just off a main square of the old town.

Genau was ich gesucht habe , um nach einem anstrengenden Arbeitstag zu entspannen. Ein geräumiges Zimmer und ein schöner Spa Bereich rundeten meinen ersten Aufenthalt wunderbar ab. Termine zwangen mich eine weitere Übernachtung zu suchen. Warum etwas anderes suchen wenn man sich wohl fühlt .

Bin öfters dort in dem Hotel für eine kleine Auszeit, supergemütlich, sauber, Spa klein aber fein, Personal superfreundlich, tolles Frühstück und absolute Traumlage direkt am schönsten Platz in Wernigerode mit der wunderschönen Innenstadt vor der Hoteltür. Für dieses dicke Rund-Um-Paket sind die Preise sehr moderat.

Sehr zentral am Markplatz, Parkhaus vorhanden. Personal freundlich. Einrichtung etwas altmodisch, aber in Ordnung. Das Zimmer war sehr warm, lässt sich nicht runterkühlen. Man hört die Glocken der nahen Kirche viertelstündlich, nachts ist jedoch Ruhe. Essen sehr gut.

Vi fik et værrelse længst væk, men det er det eneste negative jeg kan finde. Meget tålmodige og fortående og hjælpsomme personaler, vi kommer helt sikkert igen. Julemarkedet var lige udenfor døren, tak for et par gode nætter

Hotellet fint. Personalet meget smilende og hjælpsomme. Hotellet absolut bynært. Hyggelig bar. Spiste ikke på hotellet men tror det var udmærket. Rart med mulighed for parkering og opladning af el bil, dig kunne prisen for begge dele godt oplyses på hjemmeside

Interieur Is etwas in die Jahre gekommen und das Parkhaus war überfüllt.
Es ist aber ein echt tolles Hotel und kann nur weiter empfohlen werden.
