As a frequent traveler , I find the maintenance to the hotel is seriously lacking. The room stink of cigarette smoke , the air-con leak , the hot water does not work half the time .the wi-fi network is quite inconsistent .

It's quite an old place, however, they still managed to keep the hotel clean and room also quite clean.

BUT there are a few things I don't like about the hotel. 1st, the front counter staff that process my check-in is not very friendly, he can't accept that there are certain terms regarding hotel check that guest do not know, I was merely just asking more details but I can see his impatience and wants to quickly end the conversation...

And the hotel room pillow, although looks clean but when you go near it, you can smell the oily smell on it..

And one of the bed has a few yellow spots on it.

I got room 1420 on 14th floor, the room feels weird and I can't sleep at night. Best of luck to anyone who gets this room.

Other than that, hotel is ok.

Great staff & cleanliness POOR towels

It was a short stay where we pull off during heavily rain evening. Booking through Hotels.com was almost instantly connected with the hotel. Staff is well prepared like expecting our arrival long ago. Impressive staff!

We booked delux room however got free upgrade to Junior Suits which is newly refurbish I guess, really nice of that. Stay was pleasant. Just a few points for the hotel attention:-
1) There were no slippers provide?
2) no bath rob too
3) Drinking glasses & toiletries were only one set ?
4) Towels are too old not presentable. It looks like rugs on floors @_@

Manager is kind enough to call and confirm my booking as well as giving some information about the parking and check in services. Service was okay, however the guest did not get any Drinking water bottles in the room.
Wasnt a good experience for the guest who is thirsty. We are happy that The breakfast is provided. However, food provided arent up to the hotel standard. Scones tasted like stones. Pancakes cold and tough. The coffee and drinks provided was the only pleasant experience we got from the breakfast.
Hopefully crystal crown could improve and do much better as a 4 star hotel. Please improve!

The hooked the property quite last minute but when we arrived, we didn’t have to wait for long to get our room. We stayed at the executive suite and there was a nespresso machine provided with two complimentary espresso capsules. The room was neat, bright and clean. Loved the sheets and pillow. Downside is, we could hear the corridors. Kids running and shouting in the morning. Complimentary breakfast choices were ok, usual typical, not anything beyond expectations. Location wise, it was pretty close to the place we are having an event which is at The Grounds, KL. Overall, everything was good. Would prefer a brighter lighting in the toilet for makeup.

Crystal crown hotel. Disappointed.

Front desk service was excellent. Other than that I would not want to come back.

Lobby air conditioner was hot and I don’t think all air conditioner were on.

Bed sheets stink, pillow cases too.

I was shocked to have found a lady panties hung in the cupboard when I opened it.

I guess the housekeeping didn’t perform their job up to mark.

The hotel isn’t willing to call me a cab for my travel 45 minutes later. I can’t figure out why.

Upon checking out, the counter was just about to cash in their till. I waited for long for my deposit to be returned and it took ages. So I went to the breakfast to grab a drink n came back.

The hotel shouldn’t be rated 4 stars as indicated on their plaque at the reception.

This is the worst hotel ever I’ve stayed for the year. Will not consider this hotel again anymore.

Location wasn't so convenient. Hotel is also a tad dated although the rooms themselves were quite well maintained. The buffet breakfast was ruined by a horde of tourist groups - there was literally no food left and people were eating straight from the buffet table! Unfortunately there probably wasn't much the hotel staff could do with that.

I actually booked the hotel on an incorrect date unknowingly.

The hotel neglected to call me to inform me that I was NO SHOW and I was not aware until when I was about to board my plane to Kuala Lumpur.

Upon checking with Expedia staff Dewang today 11/2, he informed me that Crystal Crown refused to accomodate and help me at all stating I was NO SHOW.

My question here is why Cyrstal Crown did not even bother to give me a call or let me know that I was NO SHOW, it just goes to show that customer service is not in Crystal Crown’s dictionary and I am very disappointed with that attitude of theirs for rejecting to even help a bit.

As for Expedia Stadf Dewang, thank you for your assistance and help. I know it is hard for you and I appreciate the help that you have given to me.

It was a pleasant and comfortable stay but the food was not so tasty. I ordered chicken chop for my dinner. Oh dear, looks like it was fried and burn!! I was very dissapointed. Will be good if you can improve the food. For breakfast the fried noodles was tasteless. Chicken with black soya sauce was over cooked. Hope the management will look into this matter seriously.

Not so good for my experience. As I indicated that I will be late check-in, hotel side does not call me to confirmed but they thought I no show and deduct one day of my stay. I have to indicate I have paid two nights hotel fees. They only give me one day of breakfast while I have to ask for the second days breakfast. They does not provide toothbrush in advance in the bathroom. I have to call housekeeping to ask for it. Cleanliness of the bathroom is only moderate. Quite noisy as the room can hear upstairs people running and car sound as near to highway.

I have stayed in this hotel before and it was so nice to see it refurbished and was impressed with the counter staff though I did not get his name. He was very pleasant, friendly and was really fast in his service.

I had 2 guests and found out that i could only have 1 guest in the executive lounge. Called to check whether i could invite the extra guest and what was the extra charge. To my pleasant surprise, Mr Pandiyan said I could invite the extra guest at no extra cost. My guests were pleasantly surprised too.

Whenever I was at the executive lounge, Satwinder took real good care of ensuring that I had my refreshments to my preference. She even let the guests know what refreshments were available and the names. It was just not me that she took care but all who came to the lounge were basically well taken care of. She friended and chatted up with everyone. Felt very special :)

My room was really nice and comfortable. The only peeve was that the room was not sound proof. The 4th night of my stay was really bad as I could hear the guests in the other room talking and coughing. Guess he was not well but to hear coughing every few minutes really disturbed my sleep. It was late at night and it was very disturbing. Think the management has to check on the sound proof.

Overall a good stay :)

Nice hotel with decent rooms at a reasonable price. Hotel is a bit aged but well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free shuttle services to digital mall, mid valley mall etc. No nearby convenient store but jaya mall is 5-10mins away by Grab private hire. Breakfast spread is decent with egg station and noodle station.

The hotel staffs cannot find my booking in their computer system for almost 10minutes! Later a man came and asked for my mobile number; and found my paid booking. The 14th floor is not a non-smoking floor, as there were common area windows nearvthe windows were slightly opened and can has ciggy scent. Please improve. Thank you.

Room was spacious. Receptions not very friendly. Booked a room with twin beds but only given welcome drink voucher for 1 person! Water in shower room that I stayed in doesn't flow into drainage properly so shower area permanently water logged. Air conditioning temperature cannot be changed (preset I believed) so that wasn't a good thing for me as I prefer my room to be less cool during my sleep.

They didnt clean my room blaming on \"Do not disturb\" sign which was put on as a mistake due to its vicinity near switchboards. But they diidnt use common sense of belling the room at various time perhaps if they really wanted to clean the room before end of the Day. Internet didnt work properly;promised to send someone to look into...never turned up.

Dirty room with poor service

I am very disappointed with how the hotel handles each feedback. I am a regular guest who stays in this hotel at least once a month averagely for more than 6 years.

I was awakened by persistent pounding noise in the middle of the night at 1am (Jan 19, 2018). I called the reception 3 times to get this matter resolved. The calls were answered by the housekeeping manager. He found out the sound was made from some piping repair work on the rooftop. But why is the work done in the middle of the night????? What the manager could offer me was to change a room, and it took them more than 20 min to have the room ready.

All in all, it took the hotel more than 2 hours to get this matter resolved, at 245am to be specific.

I have had many unhappy experiences with your hotel, including bed infested with bed bugs that left scars on my back and thigh, unfresh and badly handled food served at the hotel cafe, unfriendly front desk customer service, hot AC, leaking bathtubs, clogged shower drainage, poor noise insulation, dirty and poorly maintained suites with gecko waste and bedsheets not changed at every turnover.

I even dropped a feedback form on my last visit but sadly it got lost somehow and never got to the top. Sad to say, the hotel doesn’t seem to bother about how the guests feel. I will not stay here again.

Hotel limo pickup from airport was not at the gate. Had to call numerous times to get to driver. Hotel reception at desk seemed clueless about their own shuttle service; not informing me that we had to book for a shuttle ride even after we have asked them at the desk the day before. Coffeeshop staff were not helpful. Service was non existent, except for one of the restaurant managers.

Shower facility needs improvement

I must say, they kept the room for me even when I had to delay my check-in till very, very late. Only problem with the bathroom is the shower tab was spoiled and I couldn't tell which was for hot or cold water. And the glass door in the shower doesn't close very well so water from the shower was making the entire washroom wet. I just wish they had put me in a non-smoking floor...as I could smell smoke from the other adjacent rooms. But overall it's ok.

Bad Wifi reception, inefficient reception staff

I was hoping to rest after an early flight, however, after 30 minutes of checking in, the sound of the construction from the upper floor did not make it possible. I was not told by the reception when I checked in that there was construction in the upper floor and the front desk did not advise us to move to a quieter place. After 4 angry phone calls I gave up. Since I already paid, I don't have a choice but to stay till end of the booking. Was really disappointed with hotel staff at the front desk. The manager should have apologized and did something to my complaint, but nothing was done. The wifi was not working at all through out our stay.

A good midlevel hotel

Crystal crown is a tad above the budget hotels one finds so frequently in Malaysia. The rooms are a good size, clean. The carpet along the corridors looks like they could use a refreshment.The breakfast selection is good with multiple stations for those with a taste for both eastern and western food. The location is decent in Petaling Jaya but there are not many conveniences close by. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

Nice and cozy after a busy day

A nice cozy hotel. Quite shock when i saw the opening date. Its 1998 if i am not mistaken. Overall, its good but there are few things that hotel could take a look into. First, breakfast. I stayed for 6 days, i ate almost the same thing everyday. Its lack variety or daily special or some sort. Second, facilities such as pool and gym need serious rework. Those things are legacy. Operating hours also could be set earlier too, i cannot do my morning workout.

We were in the hotel for a convention over the weekend.
The crystal ball room was comfortable and private. The lighting was good and the size was just right.

We loved our bedroom with the view and it was nice to have access to Summit Room as it allowed us some space and time out from the crowd.

I had booked a room with twin beds on the Crown floor but my room mate checked in ahead and found we were given a king size bed instead.
It was late and after a long day, we decided not to request a change...truth is we loved the very nice bed and it was big enough to allow us our own personal space.

The staff at reception were very nice and helpful. They promptly assisted with taxi bookings several times and were informative about distances and travel time to our various destinations.

They made the administrative operations such as check in, check out very convenient.

Hotel breakfast staff and service is decent. Choices are limited though.

Front desk counter is slow and not too friendly. I booked for 2 rooms but only 1 room was available. It took them about 40-50 min to arrange another room with no credit given to hotel.com. Luckily hotel.com is very efficient and got it verified and credited to my account on my 2nd attempt.

I will still choose this hotel as it's close to my business rendezvous.

General Manager, please do rounds and check hotel.

A week before I checked in, I emailed them but never received a reply. When I checked in for my Junior Suite, the card they gave me promised a fruit platter, which they later said they no longer provide (then please don't state so in the card?). Next day, I asked to join their shuttle service to location they stated on their announcement, but they said I had to pre-register one day ahead. Are you kidding me? After I insisted, they asked me if I could travel at an earlier timing. They shouldn't deny me the shuttle and they shouldn't ask me to match their timings. They also forgot to switch on water heater for my room. Horrible of all is the Evening Tea at their Executive Lounge, which was unstaffed on first day, and the food was so lousy I thought they were leftovers. I recommend the General Manager of the hotel to make his rounds and ask if he would eat those. Crystal Crown is such a legendary hotel in PJ, unfortunately no staff is keen to live up to its glory.

Everything was fine, except the front office, I wonder how the person check me in don't even know which floor is smoking floor and don't bother to ask, once I reach that floor, and check in my room, I feel that is smoking floor. While I need to go out for dinner, I drop by and ask again, that time another senior came out then only he ask to confirm, Bingo I got the smoking floor! (Which I requested for non-smoking)

The next day when I check out, the staff also don't bother to greet, and their face really spoil my day.

But the breakfast was really good, and the staff inside really have good service!
