Room was great. Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Nice patio with a fantastic view of the castle. Lots of shops and places to eat within easy walking distance. Reserved parking spot was nearby up a steep set of stairs, but understandable given the location of the hotel on a very narrow, steep hill. The view is worth it!

The location and views were incredible! Our room was lovely; very clean, comfortable and charming. and there was so much care and detail for our 5 year old: special sheep sheets, a kids dining set for breakfast- it really made her feel special. Breakfast was delicious, and the stocked fridge to purchase beer or wine was really nice in the evening after we put our little one to sleep - we had a beer on our balcony looking up at the castle and out to the river. We will definitely need to return!

Wonderful location in old Cochem

A beautiful pension type stay in the middle of Cochem close to the castle. The hosts offer a great variety of services and help and are very friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to try Apfel Strudel on the patio with a glass of wine or the house Schnaps!

Property was great, difficult to find due to small one way roads. We were directed where to park, up/down steep hill and with limited ability it was difficult. We did get a parking ticket for being in the wrong spot, hotel needs to be more clear on where to park . Property and host were wonderful and view of the castle was amazing.

Moselle room (or maybe Mostella room) was great for castle views and hanging outside at night! No air conditioning, this is normal and is common, but great windows and shades installed made it easier. Also, they had a small fan in the room which was much needed and the only hotel that offered it on our Europe trip. The decor reminds me of my grandma's house in 1990 but it is cozy and comfortable and they have alcohol downstairs when everything else in town closes at 10pm-12am. In Cochem I recommend keeping some late night snack food on hand for when you get hungry!

I hate to write anything negative because everything was as perfect as it should be. But, due to physical limitations I have, the location up that very steep hill, had I known, would have raised flags and I never would have selected that hotel. It should be made clear that accessibility may not be appropriate for every one.

What a wonderful location! The hotel has lovely grounds and hiking trails off of the back, you can just sit and watch the ships go by the river. I had the most stunning Riverview. People seem to want the castle view, but the river view is even better. My room was spectacular! Breakfast was lovely

We loved it! Super clean right in front of the castle Nice garden in the back to view the village and castle from, It was amazing, If you book, read the directions they send to you, They help you immensely, they do things different in this village and they tell you how to navigate through it, It was just overall a great experience!! The Host and Hostess were so friendly easy to communicate with , It was a delightful stay and we look forward to returning in Aug for the Medieval fest!! thank you!!! possibly the Christmas market in Dec too!

We stayed in the Moseltal room and the view was absolutely stunning!! We couldn't believe it when we opened the door to look straight out at the castle and town below. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was good as well. Driving up the narrow streets to get to the hotel was a little stressful but once we got settled in, everything was within walking distance and the location was beautiful. We loved it and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in several hotels during our tour of Germany, and this was by far our favorite place! The town and landscape is very beautiful, and this hotel has terraces going up the hill, and benches and lookout towers at the top, where we could relax and look in awe at the scenery--we could see the entire town, with the river and hills, and we were so close to the fabulous Reichsburg Castle--just a 10 minute walk away! We could see the castle from our bedroom window, and from the window of the lovely breakfast room, as well as the outdoor breakfast balcony. We were so happy that the owner, Monica, did our laundry for us, and folded it, and she added an extra sweet touch when she served my husband his boiled eggs in the morning---they had these cute knitted caps with pom-poms, and they said \"Villa Tummelchen\" on them. Monica said her grandmother had made them. If we come back to the area, we will definitely stay here, and will recommend it to our friends.

This is such a great place to stay in Cochem. I was lucky to get the Moseltal room, which has a great terrace. The view was outstanding. Good breakfast in the morning and self-service for wine and beers, if you want to drink some of the great local wine.

Friendly staff and super nice rooms and breakfast. Beautiful castle and river views. Driving up the road to front door is a bit hard pull past and back into driveway to unload heavy luggage then get directions for parking at to of the long staircase just a past the driveway.

Great hotel to stay in and the hosts were wonderful , quiet location , perfectly located up the hill directly across from the castle .
The hotel has an outstanding breakfast very fresh food - try the hostess eggs - yum !

Rooms linen and bathroom linen changed daily - perfect .

Quite a hike with our bags from the station , but once there the hostess said we should have called and she would have collected us from the station.
The town and the castle are right out of a fairytale book !

Everything was fantastic !

The property was great! We only stayed there for one night, but the room was nice and comfortable. We had a view of Cochem Castle from our bed and a better view from the attached patio. Villa Tummelchen is within walking distance to many restaurants and very close to the castle. This is ideal because driving the steep and narrow streets was a little stressful. They conveniently provide parking right around the corner. I would definitely stay at Villa Tummelchen again.

Beautiful hotel on the slope! Rooms have ample space and nice homey features. Hosts were very friendly and helpful! It's a climb if you walk up the hill to the hotel. Views from the top are fantastic! Breakfast was included and was wonderful, lots of selections and fresh cooked eggs if you wanted them. Would highly recommend!

Don't miss this gem of a hotel

Our two bedroom unit had a unique room layout even so we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel owners have a hands-on presence in the hotel operation and their pride of ownership shows clearly. The room was clean, comfortable and was quiet as the hotel in located on a narrow street two blocks from Cochem's town center. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel owners make the breads and jams included in the buffet and those items were especially delicious. Great location for access to the town center, Mosel River cruise launch locations and castle visit. Be advised that the last two blocks of the road to the hotel are somewhat steep so take it slow and easy if you are walking there.

Great stay in Cochem

Villa Tummelchen was a great place to stay. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. There was free breakfast with a good variety of foods including fresh cooked eggs. No restaurant, but there is a cabinet with local beer and wine that you can help yourself to and get charged at the end of your stay. We got a room with a balcony, which had an unbelievable view of the town, the river, and the castle. The location was great for us because it was close enough to the center of town (<5 minute walk) to do anything, yet it has free parking unlike the hotels right in the center.

Note that Villa Tummelchen is up a steep hill from the town and the parking is even further up that hill. Furthermore, I don't think there were elevators, so it is best if you are mobile enough to walk. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. There is no air conditioning (I think this is true for every hotel in Cochem, at least when I was looking) and it was very hot when we stayed, but luckily the room had multiple windows and doors that could be opened to the outside and a fan that made it more bearable.

If I ever get the pleasure of revisiting Cochem, I will seek out this pension. The staff leader ( owner I assume) was amazing and friendly. The room had a great view of the castle - I assume all rooms have an excellent view from their respective place in the building.

If you drive to this place, be warned that it is somewhat (OK, very!) unnerving to drive through the pedestrian zone and up the steep hills to get there. But its worth it if you can do it!

Can't beat the location and friendliness

At the base of the castle and in the middle of the old part of town. Walk to everything. Great breakfast in the morning and a comfortable clean room. Wifi was a problem though. Just meant more time out and about.

The hotel is located a short walk above the town at the foot of the castle. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful giving advice about local sights and activities.Nice breakfast that can be eaten on the patio overlooking the castle and Mosel river valley. Clean simple rooms and good Wifi.

Megahyggeligt sted. Stille og roligt. Meget søde værter, der tager sig godt af gæsterne. Skønt at man kan købe kold vin og øl til billige priser. God wifi. Stedet er ikke for gangbesværede. Det ligger højt på en meget stejl bakke. Beliggenheden er meget tæt på centrum, men den stejle gade skal forceres, når man skal hjem. Det er lidt svært at køre dertil, især i en lidt større bil. Gratis parkering tæt ved, men op ad en meget lang og stejl trappe. Vi boede på et skønt værelse med balkon og god udsigt. Vi havde værelse til tre, og opredningen var ikke så komfortabel, men ok. Vi kommer meget gerne igen.

Das Hotel war weiter im Inneren und weniger in Stadtnähe, dadurch hatte man seine Ruhe, auch tagsüber. Das Hotel war sehr nah zur Burg und hatte eine wunderschöne Aussicht, besonders morgens beim Frühstück, von der Terrasse aus. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, die Möbel süß im Landhausstil, mit einem Himmelbett. Besonders das Badezimmer war sehr hygienisch und sauber, sodass man sich sogar trauen konnte ohne Schlappen im Zimmer umher zu laufen. Das Hotel hatte auch süße Blumenkästen, mit roten Blumen, die aber besonders aus der Ferne auffällig waren. So konnte man sein Hotel immer wiederfinden. Das Personal war super nett, sehr flexibel und hat sehr nette Angebote gemacht, z.B. die Benutzung der Toilette auch nach Check Out oder dass man sein Gepäck nochmal abstellen durfte nach Check Out. Die Gespräche mit dem Personal waren super. Insgesamt wirklich sehr zufrieden, hat die Erwartungen übertroffen.

Der Preis ist für diese Unterkunft nicht gerechtfertigt. Die Einrichtung ist mau und die Rollläden unseres Zimmers konnte man nicht komplett herunterladen. Das untere Drittel war von außen mit festen Stäben blockiert und der Vorhang reichte nicht über das gesamte Fenster. Aus der Wand standen offene Kabel hervor. Nicht sehr einladend. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt abgebrochen und sind nicht dort geblieben.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt

Es war ein angenehmer und überaus schöner Aufenthalt. Das Personal, in diesem Fall die Besitzer, waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und ich kann die teilweise negativen Bewertungen gegenüber dem Personal, die ich gelesen hatte, nicht verstehen. Aber! Wie man in den Wald ruft, schallt es heraus.
Trotz der Hygienevorschriften, welche sehr gut umgesetzt wurden, fühlte man sich nicht beeinträchtigt. Für das Frühstück konnte man unter zwei verschiedene Zeiten wählen, so dass der Frühstücksraum nicht voll war.
Ich kann das Hotel ruhigen Gewissens weiterempfehlen und werde bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in Cochem diese Hotel wieder buchen, da es etwas abgelegen aber doch zentral liegt und man alles fußläufig erreichen kann.

Ein kleines Hotel mit sehr aufmerksamen Inhabern. Der Supprt , die Einhaltung der Corona-Richtlinien und die Tips waren klasse. Man kann auf dem Balkon oder der Terasse sitzen, arbeiten, lesen, Wein trinken oder über Cochem schauen. Wiklich gut. Furchtbar ist die Anfahrt, wenn es so voll ist wie im Moment, da man 300 m durch Fußgängerzonen fahren muss.

Eine herzliche und einladende Willkommenskultur. Auskunftsfreudige Kommunikation und gute Lage zentral in Cochem. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig, frisch und ließ keinen Wunsch übrig. Von der Terasse hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf die Burg.
Das Zimmer war schlicht gehalten, war sehr sauber und im Bett konnte man gut schlafen.

Sehr schön gelegenes kleines Hotel in Cochem. Auf halben Wege hoch zur Burg.Sehr ruhig und weit genug weg vom Trubel der in der Stadt besonders am Sonntag war.Sehr nette Hotel Besitzer mit ganz tollem Frühstück.Wir hatten das Zimmer mit Blick zur Mosel gebucht.Sehr schön.Einzige Kritik Punkt war die Vorhänge des Zimmers.Die nicht ganz so viel Licht geschluckt haben, und aus diesem Grund wurde man schon sehr früh wach.Da würden vielleicht andere Vorhänge oder ein Rollo Abhilfe schaffen.

Perfecte accomdatie met vriendelijke mensen erg bezorgd en behulpzaam ,keurig ontbijt mooie kamer
En een mooi terras met prachtig uitzicht op Cochem
Het probleem is dat het niet geschikt is voor oudere
Wij zijn beide 86 jaar en zijn met veel moeite bij het hotel gekomen en vandaar dat we na 3 dagen besloten hebben weer naar huis te gaan hetgeen vooraf zeker niet de bedoeling was.
Al met al hebben we toch een paar leuke dagen gehad
