Didn't live up to expectations

Can't say anything good about this facility. Parking was not readily available. The staff with whom we interacted were not at all welcoming. The restaurant was severely under staffed and the food was meh. There was an event at the hotel one of the nights we were there, and the noise reached the sleeping rooms. The rooms are small and, in one of them, the walls were so slanted that it was not feasible to stand while packing / unpacking items. In searching for a positive, I can say that the restrooms in the lobby area are nice and were very clean.

Much of the hotel grounds are under construction. The romance of staying at an old castle, a stone spiral staircase, maces, swords, and suits of armor was great. We were impressed by the large room.
The number of dogs, however, was too much. At breakfast, 2 families brought their dog, one of which kept feeding it under the table. The dog barked constantly, every time it wanted more food.

Cute hotel - we stayed here on recommendation from friends . The Family Suite was huge - a very large room with table and couches plus a large bed for the parents, and a smaller room with twin bed in a separate room. So the space was great . Both beds were a bit soft for our taste, but otherwise things were in good condition and very comfortable. There was a handheld shower head in the bathroom, which seemed a bit dated as adjustable shower heads are so common now all across Germany and the rest of Europe. Restaurant, including breakfast, was good, although on our second day the coffee machine was creating problems and dealing with it kept the staff from having time to refill other food items. All in all a good stay, but a few items that required some flexibility on our end.

We had a great 3 day stay at the property. Very ancient building (1350 !). Rooms were very authentic, quiet and comfortable. Bathroom a bit small. Great view on the BodenSee. Breakfast buffet very nice. Restaurant has magnificent view on the lake. Would highly recommend for a romantic escape.

100 Euros is alot of money.

We made our reservations thru Hotels.com and were shocked when we were told the 2 night stay cost over 100 euros more than the reservation. I shared with the receptionist my reservation copy and again she attempted to say her amount was correct, stating the reservation did not include taxes and city fees. After a brief conversation she agreed to change the bill to the reservation amount, but never once apologized for her mistake. The stay was great but this left a bad taste in our mouths.

Welcome friendly. Check-in quick & simple. Presented with room card & whilst being escorted to the lift, informed concerning dining and breakfast.

The hotel has old- world charm with decor confirming its history as a castle. It certainly has Bavarian character

The restaurant comprises several rooms with different decor and lake view. Staff very friendly. Food good. Some tasty wine. The music was a radio station and alas the music was not conducive to a relaxed dining experience. Where was the Bavarian light music or light general instrumental/ classical music?
That would have made the evening much more pleasant and special.

The breakfast was fine with quite a selection of food. The hot choice for vegetarian was egg (not all that hot in fact) whilst meat eaters had choice. Tasty breads, fruit and cheese. Good service. Pleasant.
The terrace during the day had good ice- cream, cake & selection of drinks.

I would stay here again, albeit Wasserburg is only a small village with a couple of churches, lake walks, swans and a good eatery, named Hegestrand 3, by the lake. Quiet and relaxing it is. If you are bike minded then there is a good bicycle shop. ATM can be found at the Sparkasse near the railway station

Nice little gem of a place!

This is a cute hotel (old castle) at the end of the road in its own little area; surrounded by water. Friendly staff upon check in/out and during our stay.
We stayed on the backside of the hotel with a bit of a view of the lake. It was grey and chilly when we were here but still perfect weather to walk around the area as well as along the lake and to the center of town. Off season so a lot of the restaurants & some hotels were closed but still enjoyable for 2 days/overnight stay.
The room was quite large with super high ceilings, and the bathroom was double/triple the size of other hotels I've been in within Europe. Style of the room was decorated modernly and quite comfortable to stay in. Dinner in the restaurant was quite tasty with a large menu. Breakfast was pretty decent with lots to choose from.
Parking spots were plenty when we arrived but I can imagine in the peak season they're limited. We will be back during the summer to ride our bikes around town, explore the other restaurants as well as swim in the lake.

Beautiful old castle hotel along the water.

Wasserburg is simply gorgeous. A beautiful old castle hotel along the water. The hotel restaurant offers great food options incl traditional German fare; along the water's edge, it's a must-do esp in hot summer days. Breakfast is included in the hotel price and offers a huge selection.

The hotel beach is typical for the area and is covered in small rocks. Both young and old would benefit from water shoes; without, it makes for difficult walking in and out of the beautiful cool and clean water. The hotel offers water-side loungers and extra beach towels.

The room was nice and clean and the bed very comfortable. However typical for such an old hotel, the room was rather small. And without Air-conditioning, was very hot during our stay where temperatures soared to 37. Windows opened onto the water, but after dark little insects flew in.

Nonetheless my teen-aged son and I loved it and would definitely recommend it. A Havenrundfahrt (harbour boat tour) and bike rental are musts. A cheap little bike rental shop is just up the road and the pier is nextdoor to the hotel, making this hotel very well placed.

Loved, loved, loved this hotel. We initially booked 1 night but ended up using this hotel for our base in Southern Germany, we came back twice. This hotel was very charming we stayed in 3 different room and loved all of them even the small one we got for one of the nights, that was all that was available, but I would take the room again in a heart beat, it had great views of the lake. The staff was very friendly, starting with the reception area to the restaurant and breakfast staff. We will definitely be back. This is my all time favorite stay in any hotel and what a great location.

It snowed all night during our stay and it was beautiful looking out the window at the new white blanket, and the lake. The building is very old and looks unique due to this. That being said the room was clean and nice. The people were very nice and the breakfast was good.

Went there for Valentine's Day. It provided a beautiful location, with a great view and a romantic setting. Very well located allowed to to visit much of the area, having Austria and Switzerland within a few minutes drive. Will be staying there again

Its a lovely hotel in a fantastic location but for the cost it was very disappointing not to have internet in our room in fact they gave me there personal internet to use but could only be used on ground and first floor - we were on the third floor. Restaurant staff excellent but other staff were quite offhand and it was mostly \"no\" to every request. Wonderful open air heated pool with play area and you can swim in the lake there for 2 euros a day while you are staying at hotel and in fact free on the Sunday we were there.

The hotel is located on a tiny peninsula very close to a wharf. You can take the Bodensee boat for day trips around the lake. The neighborhood is very nice, one can access the beach - although it is quite rocky and not so good for a walk. The restaurant was nice, it is located on a terrace right by the water with full view of the sunset. Breakfast was excellent. The ambiance of the hotel is very good, lots of all furniture and the room was spacious. No A/C, though.

A great stay at this hotel, with a fabulous location right on the water. The hotel even has their own private direct access to the lake. The room was great for our family with plenty of space. The only issue was a lack of A/C, which is a constant problem in Europe in general.
Also... the restaurant onsite, while the setting is great (patio overlooking the water) the food is mediocre. There are some other restaurants within walking distance.

Décoration remarquable car bâtiment ancien. Literie ok mais pas de lit double, petit déjeuner moyen avec des jus de fruits chimique et employés peu aimable. Très calme. Gros point faible, impossible de dormir dans le noir, les rideaux sont littéralement à un mètre de la fenêtre et reposent sur la table donc pas de noir du tout. D’immangeable car le bâtiment est vraiment étonnant

Das Personal war super!

Die Sauberkeit im Restaurant eher mäßig!
Die Mauer auf der Terrasse war sehr schmutzig, voll mit Spinnweben. Der Teppich nach oben wurde auch nicht täglich gereinigt. Es gab so einige Stellen die etwas unsauber waren.
Das Frühstück war nie morgens pünktlich um 8:00 Uhr fertig, für uns nicht schlimm, für andere jedoch sehr.
Dies sind nur Anmerkungen!
Für uns war der Aufenthalt sehr schön!
Es ist ein tolles Hotel, tolle Lage….

Es wurde der Innenhof umgebaut ab 7 Uhr
Die wenigen Parkplätze die vorhanden waren hat man mit Baumaschinen und Paletten mit Pflastersteinen vollgestellt,für zwei Gäste mit Porsche waren natürlich immer Plätze mit Aufschrift RESERVIERT freigehalten
Alles in allem dieses Hotel werden wir nicht weiterempfehlen
Man wird auch als Gast komplett ignoriert.

Das Zimmerist im Stil des alten Schlosses eingerichtet, aber mit ganz modernem Bad, die Gästeräume neu, sehr gut passend kombiniert, das Frühstück sehr gut mit schönem Blick auf den See.

Das Hotel liegt idyllisch auf einer Halbinsel im Bodensee, kurz: \"Halb Insel - gang besonders\". Man kann sehr gut spazieren gehen, die Idylle genießen und die Panoramablicke mit Bodensee und Alpen genießen.

Das Hotel kombiniert hervorragend das Moderne mit dem Historischen. Man fühlt sich im gesamten Hotel als König(in). Auch unser Sch(l)osshund hat sich hier wie im Schloss als Königspudel gefühlt. 🐕

Unser Zimmer war gemütlich, sehr sauber, das Bett bequem und der Ausblick fantastisch.

Das gesamte Ambiente ist so königlich wie das Restaurant. Auf der Terrasse kann man den Sonnenuntergang über dem Bodensee (mit Zeppelin!!!) bei leckeren Speisen genießen. Ein Extra-Lob an die Küche: Unsere Favoriten waren die Lachsforelle und das Knödel Triplet. Unbedingt auch den Limoncello Spritz probieren!

Kurz gemeckert: Wir empfanden es ein wenig anstrengend, dass die Rezeption nach der langen Anfahrt nicht besetzt war. Und bitte sperren Sie den einen Parkplatz unter dem Baum mit den Vogelnestern, weil man sonst um eine Autowäsche nicht herumkommt.

Das gesamte Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Besonders freundlich waren das Reinigungs- und das Servicepersonal: Julien, Rudi, Rita und Boris - Ihr seid die Besten!

Das Hotel war hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Spaziergänge am Bodensee, in den Apfelplantagen, Ausflüge nach Konstanz und zur Insel Mainau, nach Friedrichshafen, Überlingen, Bregenz (atemberaubende Freilichtbühne), Lindau, die Destillerie Steinhauser ...

Die Lindau Suite mit dem historischen Dekor hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Badezimmer ist schön gemacht und riesig. Das Frühstücksbuffet war hervorragend. Auch das Abendessen war sehr gut und der Service sehr nett. Wir können dieses Hotel bestens empfehlen.

Wirklich schöner Aufenthalt. Hotel wird gut mit den dort herrschenden Umständen/baulichen Möglichkeiten betrieben.

Leider hat man am Abend echt Probleme einen Parkplatz zu bekommen. Vielleicht durch a'la carte Gäste des Restaurants die mit Auto kommen.

Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr freundlich! Frühstück ist sehr zufrieden stellend.

Zimmer sind so sauber wie es die Einrichtung ermöglicht.
Spinnen und Spinnenweben sind leider nicht zu vermeiden. Badezimmer ist durch Abzugshaube nur schwer warm zu halten. Hier wäre zu überlegen Licht und Abzugshaube mit seperaten Schaltern anzubringen.

Danke für das schöne Erlebnis bei euch im Schloss.

Das gesamte Hotel besteht nur aus Stufen und Stolperkanten. Schmutzigen Fenstern im Restaurant und viel viel Spinnweben. Hier würde ich als Mitarbeiter auch nicht gerne arbeiten. Selbst gemachter Personalmangel

Ein wunderschön gelegenes Hotel unmittelbar am See! Sehr nettes und immer bemühtes Personal! Die Baustelle vor dem Haus (Pflasterarbeiten) störte unwesentlich. Allerdings muss der Kaffeeautomat beim Frühstücksbuffet dringend erneuert werden ( soll aber schon veranlasst sein).

Schönes Zimmer und Badezimmer. hervorragendes Frühstück auf der Terrasse direkt am Wasser. Nachtessen ok. Kellner sehr gut, freundlich und kompetent.
Strand schlecht kein Steg über die grossen Steine. Vor allem für ältere oder gehbehinderte sehr schwierig!!! Keine Sonnenschirme.
Dame an der reception unfreundlich und schlecht gelaunt!!!

Beautiful and unique rooms and facilities. Great history. Staff at reception desk very friendly and made us feel welcome every time. However, several staff members at breakfast did not greet when we or other guests arrived and replied goodbye only after we had addressed them first. There was just the leftovers of the birchermüsli left when we came, and there was no refillment even though there was plenty of time left (we came around 9 and breakfast ended at 10). This was a shame because the bits that we could get from the birchermüsli tasted utterly delicious.

Apart from this not so great breakfast experience we loved our stay. This castle truly is a unique hotel and most staff members are very friendly and professional, the rooms were clean and uniquely decorated. We recommend this place to anybody who is interested in history and unique experiences.

Leider haben wir erst 1 Woche nach Buchung erfahren, dass direkt vor dem Hotel Baustelle ist. Ansonsten ist es eine schöne Unterkunft mit sehr leckerem Essen. Die Sonnenterasse und der direkte Seezugang waren trotz super Wetter leider nicht begehbar.

Das Hotelpersonal ist äußerst zuvorkommen!
Leider ist in 50 m Entfernung eine sehr große Baustelle, auf der zwar der Hafen und Straßen renoviert wird, was wirklich schade ist. Auf dem Zimmer hab ich davon nichts gemerkt, nur als ich drum herum spazieren wollt.
