I’ve stayed at thousands of hotels and this was hands-down the worst experience. There were homeless people scattered around the front of the property when we pulled up. Walking in the first thing I noticed was how bad the lobby smelled. Everything was dirty and worn and the property was in the middle of a remodel. The hallways had not been vacuumed in weeks and there was dust and dirt everywhere. The carpet had been replaced however the bathroom was dirty with cracked tile and hair. This would’ve all been fine if the owner or manager had not been incredibly rude. He refused to give us extra pillows and when I express frustration he dared me to leave at 11:30 at night because he felt like he had power over me and I was stuck. Do not stay here ever even if it appears cheap

The hotel itself is rundown and disgusting. There are bits and pieces of carpet covering a mild dude floor. There are holes and all equipment laying around all over the place. The room itself had mold growing in the bathroom and the ceiling in the inside of the shower, they tried to cover the terrible smell by putting incense an old nail holes in the walls of the room. It was a terrible experience, and I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone. I am very disappointed in Expedia for posting the pictures that it did and making it look as though it was a decent hotel. The pictures that Expedia has posted is definitely not what you will see. Within the first 10 minutes of walking into the building there were two different people coming down, complaining and requesting new rooms because of how dirty and filthy their rooms were.

I want to request a FULL refund to this reservation because immediately after checking in, we checked out right away because of the stench in the lobby, hallway, and in room 114. My wife was gagging for air because she could not breathe. My daughter was coughing because she could not get used to the smell. We could not believe this so-called 'hotel' actually passed normal inspection. Does Hotels.com send inspectors to check out these places at all? Do you even get inspection report from the city or state building dept? Holy s, I could not stand it because it smells like a dead rat for many days in the process of decomposing under the sun. Okay, I will pay anyone double the rate if you are a normal person who expects a normal hotel lobby and says this place is ok to stay. I stayed at many normal hotels in the past, but this one had to be the worst of them all.

I don't normally leave reviews but felt motivated after this stay. It really didn't concern me the grass hadn't been mowed by the end of April. It seems there was a recent owner/management change by the banner covering the previous sign and what looks like on going renovations inside. I was hopeful for a hotel that cost more than the others in the area.The pictures online are not indicative of the current condition nor likely what will be after \"renovations\". The current management is attempting to slap lipstick on a pig to freshen it up. By literally slapping paint everywhere! There is paint on almost everything that required any effort to remove or cover. I know they had masking tape because there was some left on the door handle. They chose not to use it anywhere else. The mirror and wall coverings were missing which really didn't bother me. The holes and drywall cracks were still there with no effort to repair before painting. The towel rack was ready to fall off the wall, maybe the fresh paint will hold it a little longer. I guess they didn't notice because you need to retrieve your own towels yourself from the front desk. There was nothing for the included breakfast or bottled water, so don't believe that in the amenities. If anyone from the management cares to read this and improve, use soft white bulbs in the future replacements. Anyone else, I don't know how the surrounding hotels could be much worse and good luck.

Run! Bed bugs! Dirty bedding & bathrooms! The whole place smells like feces! We refused to stay! Several customers coming out told us to turn around, the place was unfit for stay! The staff at the front desk cancelled our stay, but said because we booked third party (Hotels.com) that they couldn’t refund us the charges. We would have to contact them separately. We have NOT gotten a refund, yet!

The hotel looks nothing like the pictures on Hotels.com. It’s a very old hotel that’s being renovated into Howard Johnson’s. It’s nasty. It’s smells so bad in there of mold and something dead. When we arrived the first room that they gave us hadn’t been cleaned. It still had stuff left over from the previous people that have been in it. There was a cigarette butt in the garbage can. The carpeting down the hallway was pieces of carpet with gaps that makes it a tripping hazard. In the second room, they gave us you could smell the mold it was so bad and you could see the mold on the wall and they just painted over it. The mattress looked new in the room but the sheets had stains and what looked like pieces of wood chips on it. We didn’t even stay the night we ended up just checking out after we got back from the Luke Combs concert. It advertises breakfast but I wouldn’t trust eating anything they had. The outside isn’t well maintained and the grass was overgrown.

Terrible service. We paid a premium expecting a breakfast like the one shown on their website. When I went to inquire about it, a man started shouting at me, claiming I was lying and that I must have been looking at photos of a different hotel—not that one. I pointed out how illogical that was: why would I look at photos, make a reservation, and spend the night at a hotel if the pictures on the website actually belonged to a different place? It was ridiculous. And that wasn't even the worst part: the toilet bowl had fecal residue in it, and the smell was horrible. To top it all off, the place felt like a drug den, and the door to the room across the hall kept slamming all night long. I had just undergone surgery four days prior and needed a pleasant, clean place to rest; instead, it turned out to be the worst experience we’ve ever had. Please, do not stay here—it is absolutely not worth the cost.

It doesn’t serve breakfast, which is the main reason I selected the hotel. It has layers of dust on the drawer, doors have chunks missing, drawer handles missing, no phone available in the room, water rotted wood, a huge roach was in the bathroom, shower not clean, there was a dirty wash cloth that was hanging on the shower rod, hallways and stairs had trash, sticky floors. We had to ask for a trash can for the room. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The name did not say Howard Johnson. If this was bought out by a new brand, they are definitely giving the Howard Johnson a bad reputation.

I couldn’t even say that’s how bad the place was. The guy said that they were doing renovations and one of the rooms I was in was supposed to be renovated. But it was awful. There was holes in the wall. There was someone’s old razor in the bathroom, and an open beer bottle in the fridge that wasn’t even on. The comforter had cigarette holes in it and the comforters looked so old and dirty like they were from the 70s or 80s. Just inside in general walking to my room felt very troubling and I was kind of scared to even go to my room. Would not recommend at all. Do not go here.

The hotel was in the must of renovation. Nothing like what you see on the site. Floor stain and dirty. Haven't been vacuum or sweep in forever. Bed sheets nasty so being your own. Towels had stains on them. Good crumbs on draws and in microwave. Toilet seat coming apart so sit with caution. Shower had hair looked like someone had recently shaved. This was absolutely the most disgusting, dingy, nasty hotel I have ever step foot in. The front desk was dusty and the whole building reeked of cigarette smoke and trash!! We went around the back to get to our room, entered the building and there were bags of trash all over the place and a trash strung about the steps and hallway.

The entire check in process was horrible. First room was not cleaned with cigarettes everywhere, I tried 4 other rooms that were also not clean and come under maintenance. At check in it took 15 minutes to get me a room that I had already reserved. No line. Plenty of rooms. The head person was eating with one hand and keyboarding with the other. Room was filthy. Not vaccumed at all. There was hair all over the toilet seat. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet, but I got up at 5 am and left. I didn't feel comfortable taking a shower.

As an FYI, Even though it states they accept service animals, they do not. I booked for my mother through Expedia and she has a service dog. She has a letter from her doctor and the dog is trained. She was turned away quite rudely being told, \"we do not accept pets.\" Her dog is not a pet. It is more akin to a medical device than a pet. Would you take a blind person's cane? A handicapped person's wheelchair? Than why list service dog's permissible then turn away my elderly mother? Absolutely inexcusable. Disgusting. I called to investigate only to be told the same thing: no pets allowed, and put on hold for 10 minutes. Will never recommend.

In their property page, they state they have a gym and a pool, of which both weren't available! They advertise that breakfast is free, but there is no warm food, only cereal, coffee, toast & oatmeal. We had to change rooms immediately upon arrival, because the room had not been cleaned. Overall, the whole facility was unclean and smelled bad!

The room was covered in splattered paint/marker. There was \"game\" cards covered in dust above the lamps, smoke detector coveres in plastic bag. No towels or washcloths, 1/2 roll of toilet paper. Door looked busted/pried open. Deadbolt wouldn't lock. Outside had homeless persons clothes around the trash cans, dumpters, looking in the windows was mattresses stacked up in the hallways.

The property seems to have been either out of service for years and just reopened again, or allowed to run into the ground with zero maintenance. There's obvious and severe decay in everything from furniture, stained carpet, broken shower head, rusty microwave, mirror removed from wall and kept in a corner, and the list goes on and on. The wallpaper is simply peeling off of walls and ceiling, half of the dining room being used for storage, and an offensive musty smell all over the place. The only good thing is the staff who seem to be doing their best under the circumstances. I'm told this place is scheduled for a complete reno. Maybe they should shut it down, renovate and then reopen once it's ready to house guests again. Pictures in the ad are probably from its prime, the place is nowhere even close to it anymore.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Entering the building there is a strange odor that is present throughout the facility. The hallways have visible damage and stains all over the walls and carpet. Inside my personal room: the safety lock on the door was removed, the safety rails in the shower were broken off, none of the surfaces were clean as there was crumbs and liquids still present. The final straw was half of the room was flooded with sopping wet carpet due to a broken AC unit. When I went to complain at the front desk, there were no other rooms available. The only pleasant part of the experience was they did grant me a refund.

Horrible. Place needs to be shutdown. The only good thing about it was the guy behind the counter. He gave me a refund without being an issue. The lobby smells of mold and mildew. The room smelt of urine and meth. There was an active drug deal happening in the room next to mine. The lock was busted off the door. The door between the conjoined rooms was “secured” with a dollar store chain lock, tape and wishful thinking. Bathroom was gross, beds were gross. It was all gross. Bugs, all kinds. It’s great place to stay if you’re looking to bring home roaches or hepatitis.

This was the worse hotel stay of my life. The conditions were extremely unsanitary and unsafe. The water was turned off for two days. When it came back in the water was yellow. There were roaches, gnats and other pests. Exterior doors were left open at all times allowing unauthorized guest to have access to the building. There was trash everywhere. The amenities that were advertised were all out of order. There is no pool, conference room, laundry facility, or workout room.

They said they are overbooked, and they did not have empty room, actually they ruined my weekend and my trip, and really this is the worst experience ever with hotels, the it even worse there was no vaccant room in Columbus on the 21st,terrible experience, just credit my money back.

This property looks like something that the owners bought after it had been sitting for a few years.
The guys checking me in were not very nice and it was very unorganized. They never told us what time the\"breakfast\" was.
The room had a hot shower but that is about it. The bed was hard and i didn't even get the king I reserved. The air conditioner worked but leaked everywhere and definitely was falling off the wall. Just not great

You get what you pay for!

This hotel was dirt cheap, and as a result, there was no shortage of dirt and grime.

The exterior was run down, overgrown and surrounded by rat traps.
One was even propping open a door.

The staff was pleasant enough. If not slightly disengaged.

The interior smelled old and musty. The hallways reeked of smoke and other substances
It was also very hot inside.

The rooms felt neglected. Everything felt uncleaned or like a rush job was done.
The beds were comfortable enough. And the room had working AC.

But the bathroom was a wreck.
The sink drained so slowly you might as well say it was fully clogged.
The toilet nearly broke after 1 flush.
The bathtub had a constant leak.
And a few small beetles were discovered hiding under the bath matt.
They lived a a crack under the sink area.

The staff never came in to make the bed or change towels a single time in a 4 night stay.

Overall everything just felt dirty, neglected and uncared for.

So, if you can get through the awful smell and dont mind a bit of grime, this place is a steal at its price.
Like I said above, you get what you pay for..
Dirt cheap rooms that reek of dirt and filth.

I think in the future, I will just pay a little more a night and stay someplace that doesn't make me feel like a roach or rat could be living on every surface.

Bathroom ceiling was caving in, sink was installed crooked. No towels were in the room. Pillows were terrible. Hallways were dingy and dirty.. Breakfast stuff was broken. Massive hole in parking lot fence that with car tracks going off into an empty lot.

This place is a dump.

Was 84 degrees in the lobby and the halls smelled like I don't know what. The fridge had a left over container of food in it and the remote didnt work with the tv. The fire alarm was hanging out of the wall in the room. The floors were dirty and looked burned or something in spots and the mirrors were streaky and the toilet didnt flush without holding the handle down. I could kind've understand the employee at the front desk. The curtains were shredded in the room and lots of patch work done everywere.

It was decently clean, but in disrepair. There was no A/C in the common areas, there were very few breakfast options. Our room smelled terrible and had a rusty microwave, missing hardware on the cabinets, fixtures falling off in the shower, no shelves in the mini fridge, and no trash can.

These rooms do not look like the online photographs. Our room was dirty. Most of the lights didn’t work. They were stains all over the beds, smells, sketchy place etc. We asked for a different clean room and the next room they took us to was so hot and the air wouldn’t work and wasn’t much cleaner. We left in disgust asking for a refund. He said he couldn’t give one at that time. We went over to comfort in and suites and got a different room. Please refund us for the misrepresentations of the first hotel or direct us how to do so.

I wish I had taken the reviews a little more seriously before I booked. My room was definitely run down, with parts of the wall coming off and mirror was off the wall, on the floor next to where it should be up and you can see from the outline where it was supposed to be on the wall. TV remote had batteries in wrong, then didn’t even work and when I went to the front desk I was given a manual to an entirely different remote. Glad I had two beds to choose from because one had stains on the sheets.
