I loved the location, the front desk person was sort of busy and preoccupied. Being close to the ocean was a huge win with little kids. The bedrooms and water service delivery was great. We loved the pool, but the hours are weird for kids.

Enjoyed my stay, food and staff service excellent in lighthouse restaurant. So near a beautiful beach. Lovely atmosphere, had chats with lots of overseas visitors.

Hyped up hotel but not worth what we paid.

The staff was very friendly to my family and check in was fast. We did not get an over view of the property, only that there are children times to pool amd here is your key. I would have like to know restaurant times for breakfast and happy hour and amenities of the property. I had to call down for wifi access, but the receptionist was very nice. I also did not expect the room only parital made up (2 or 3 bed) and no refreashment of coffee or water. Maybe this was the eco-friendly side? Upon check in, we noticed a shower issue and it was fixed the next day. Thanks but maklde for a noisy night. I would probally not stay here again based on the price I paid.

The property was in a perfect place on the beach, quiet and luxurious on the inside. The pool and jaccuzi were a nice addition, both very warm. Great for a family as we had two kids and they had thier own bed. We had a king size. Best sleep in a hotel. Had a nespresso machine for coffee in the room, which is a nice touch. Beautiful walks on the beach in the evenings after a busy day in the city of Cork. About 40 min drive to the airport on a main highway most of the way, 30 from Cork, 20 from Midleton and about 25 to Cobh. Breakfast and dinner was amazing although I would reccomend eating around the other small towns for experience purposes.
Only thing that might be missing is a small convenience store (about 15 min drive)or gift shop and a fridge. I still would reccomend this over hotels in Cork, Cobh and Fota Island.

Fab stay in a lovely hotel, with friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed a 3 night stay, bed and breakfast. The location is perfect for exploring east cork with lots of good restaurants and bars.

We had our daughters christening here and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. Tara from reception was so kind and friendly, my 3 year old loved her, she kept wanting to back to the reception.

The rooms were clean and spacious, there was an issue with the shower—it wasn’t providing hot water at the time of the stay. However, this problem was outweighed by our positive experience with the staff, who were so kind and welcoming. Overall experience was good because of the staff's friendliness

Fantastic stay

We had a brilliant stay, definitely will return. They staff are fantastic, there was a glitch on the booking fault of booking agents but the hotel were more than happy to accommodate with breakfast. Food at dinner was excellent and so was breakfast. Room was really spacious. Walking distance to playground and beach. The pool was warm and spacious, staff there was really good and friendly especially with the children.

This hotel has undoubtedly seen better days and now feels outdated. Efforts to maintain it in good condition are evident everywhere, but a sense of wear is still noticeable. The service is good, and the breakfast is plentiful. A pleasant bonus is its proximity to the ocean.

Great stay, apart from the girl at the pool

We all really enjoyed our stay at the Garryvoe hotel. The rooms were great and the service in the restaurant was fabulous. The only negative for us was the young girl in the pool reception (with the red curly hair) She was extremely rude and spoke to us in a very condescending and agressive manner, on more than one occasion. She should not be dealing with the public with an attitude like that to be honest. Thank you

Our first time staying, lobby was beautiful but rooms are very dated. Our heating was powered off so room was freezing, there was stains all over the floors. I expected more from looking at photos... went for dinner and my husbands gravy never came out atal after asking 3times, and my onion rings also after asking 3times came out when my steak was gone

This family run hotel is in a beautiful location and is managed and staffed by friendly and efficient workers. The bedroom was superb, roomy and well appointed. I have no hesitation in recommending it as an ideal stopover and will certainly return.

It said the room had air conditioning when we purchased it through Expedia, but we didn’t get a room with air conditioning. The hotel told us they only have a few rooms with air conditioning.

Excellent location with a great view of the sea front. Friendly staff. Main restaurant was closed so we had to dine at the bistro. Menu selection was limited & the food we had was average.

Very relaxing and hassle free stay with no fuss.Staff including Colin in leisure centre are exemplary in their approach.We ate in the bistro both nights and food was good.We didn’t have breakfast but I was out early each morning and had a coffee in the lounge which did not appear on my bill.These are the small touches that make an impression and make people want to come back again....well done to all

Garryvoe is a super Hotel set in the middle of nowhere but that doesn't matter because the hotel has all you need.
The service is excellent and food topnotch, our only crib was that we had to call reception every time we wanted the heat on, and it didn't always seem to work! A small matter but important at the same time if it were winter when we were there. A lovely base to work from and lots in the area to see, beautiful walks, beaches, and Ballycotton is lovely.

The service was very bad especially at breakfast. The staff were clearly new and didn’t have a system to follow. Food was fine and the room was nice and spacious. We enjoyed the beach but wouldn’t return based on the service unfortunately.

Lovely hotel. Perfect for a few days away with a family.directly across is a beach and a playground. Only 5 minutes drive to castlemartyr and 20 minutes into Cork city. All the staff were helpful and polite from the moment we checked in. The pool area is really nice and they have a water exercise pool which is a nice touch. The hotel bar is modern and clean. Great stay.

There is so much to enjoy about this hotel and location, but unfortunately the lack of heating was a huge issue for us. We ordered room service for our first night, the service was excellent and the food tasty and satisfying. However,there is no joy in sitting in a lovely, spacious bedroom if you must wear a jacket and scarf to remain warm. We were given a small plug-in radiator on our first night. The heating system was working on our last night - such a difference.

With the exception of the lady on breakfasts on our second morning and one gentleman working in the bistro the remainder of the staff could have been a little friendlier. Food in the bistro very pricey and not great selection would have expected better.

I loved looking out at the water and a sheep farm. Every employee was nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was pretty comfy. The WiFi was a little wonky. They could maybe use a booster or two for guests on upper floors. The pool was gorgeous. The fairy doors scattered around were cute. I would stay here again. Two small cons are the limited pool hours for children and the breakfast starts a little late for me. I’m used to a 6 am or 7 am start.

Pros and cons but overall happy

So I have mixed emotions about this hotel. The staff was wonderful. The breakfast was great. The room was very large and comfortable. It’s nice being right by the beach. On the other hand the area is very secluded with one shop next to the hotel and much of anything else a 5 minute minimum drive away. They do have a bar and restaurant but it wasn’t great for our kids who were tired nd could have used a quicker and more kid friendly food option. This just takes planning and knowing to eat or grab food while out. If you don’t have kids the hotel bar/restaurant would probably suit of a little pricey (not extravagantly pricey though). My primary complaint was having a room right above the health club. We could hear the music from their classes. And being on the far end of the hotel WiFi was spotty at best. Next time I’d request a room away from the health center.
