Dated and in need of a freshen up

Lovely staff and quick check in when we arrived. The room was spacious and clean, however, the bathroom could have been cleaner. Run down looking and it was obvious it had not been cleaned properly, hairs on the floor and streak marks on the bath. Had dinner in the hotel that evening, the food was lovely, but we were asked to leave before our time was up as they wanted then table (we were told that we would have one hour , forty five minutes). We had breakfast in the hotel the next morning, but it was really disappointing, the bacon and pudding were sour and inedible. Overall, the hotel Is a bit dated and run down and in need of a good freshen up, would probably stay there again, but would definitely not have breakfast.

Lovely hotel. Not a huge hotel by no means but comfortable and friendly and the bed was very comfortable. A powerful shower in the morning which was a great way to start the day. Hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas with tasteful garlands and lighting. Will stay again.

Great little hotel. We didn’t get to stay long, but the staff was great! Our room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent! The staff was all very nice and accommodating.

The location excellent! Parking, great. Staff excellent. Honestly beyond Excellent!
Cleanliness terrible!!!
Bathroom was very filthy. Shaving hairs around sink. Wall speckled with old dirt. Build up of dust around baseboards & toilet papers ledges & any ledges we’re very neglected!
Cleanliness needs to be upgraded tremendously!!!
Other than the cleanliness.
The imperial Hotel was wonderful.
Please give attention to detail!

The rooms are large and well equipped. The bar area is authentic with wood panelling throughout. The adjoining dining area is small but we were accommodated in a very spacious and comfortable upstairs room.

Great water pressure and hot water!!!!! We drove in from Dublin via quite a few stops and this was perfectly situated for our needs. Town is adorable. Ate dinner and had a pint of the bars own lager w it. Was great food. My mom said best steak ever.

Once again I received a great welcome from the man at reception. I had a lovely overnight stay, bed comfy, room cozy and warm, no outside noise....... unfortunately the tv wasn’t working but once I mentioned it at checkout, I received a reduction in my rate and it was promptly recorded for the maintenance guys. I would return without hesitation.

Irish Treat

Visit to Ireland for family wedding which was quite local to the hotel. Easy and quick check in, with a free upgrade due to wife's medical condition. Paul was helpful and accomodating throughout the stay. Room was spacious, modern and clean with good ammenities all of which were in good working order. Cleaning staff efficent and helpful.
Breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Evening meal was even better. I would without hesitation recommend the fish chowder starter and beef feather blade main course - wow.
Will be coming bcak without a shadow of a doubt.

Food was fabulous. Room was spacious and bright but front rooms had all noise from the street. The choice was close the windows & heat was unreal or open them & don't sleep. Otherwise everything was lovely.

- Room dusty, radiators covered in thick dust and so room smelt dusty
- Tray with glasses on covered in dust
- TV didn't work
- Window looked straight in to other room's windows, no privacy
- Room noisy, music noise clearly audible including lyrics, couldn't even mask this out as the TV didn't work, so difficulty sleeping

Full of old worldly charm!

We received a marvellous and genuine welcome from a guy called Paul at reception. For that I thank him. Room was spotless but bathroom dated. Only disappointment was the breakfast. We waited at least 30 mins to receive a different order than what we wanted! It wasn't even tasty! No lift so not suitable for infirm

Enjoyed a night in youghal recently . Found that this hotel was very reasonably priced (midweek ) excellent choice as the room was comfortable and clean . Lovey bar downstairs offering good fare . Ample free parking .

Embodies Irish Hosiptality

Lack of a lift (elevator) can make it difficult for the older guests in a group but overall the proprietor (Paul) and his chef-partner embody Irish hospitality. I would stay again without pause while in the Youghal area.

Stayed to attend a show, we'll return for an encor

Great central location is obvious. The welcome afforded to my parents and I was unbeatable. From the word go we were made to feel like valued friends. Food was superb, and the service even better than that. We only had a brief stay for the purposes of attending the Lismore Opera Festival nearby. We are now set upon a return to The Old Imperial this time next year, but next time to make a two or three night stay. To balance my review I'd point out that the lack of an elevator may pose some guests with an issue but now I'm nit-picking. All round I have to give this hotel top marks.

We are travelling around Ireland with no specific plans, staying wherever we find ourselves in the late afternoon. We just stumbled onto Youghal and found this beautiful hotel. A real gem Ta be sure Ta be sure.

Fantastic Stay-

My experience at this hotel was absolutely fantastic from the moment we stepped into the hotel we were treated royally, we were upgraded to a suite when we arrived, extremely comfortable ,bright,and spacious The staff were very friendly and were constantly asking if they could help give advise on places to see and things to do in the area. We met many of the local characters and they invited us to join them and brought us to a local pub where we had a great night. As the the food at the Old Imperial that was amazing food heaven you could not fault a thing, from taste,presentation and choice, flawless. We were sad to be leaving but will definitely return and tell all my friends and relatives !!! Thumbs up 100%

A Bit Of A Disappointment.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. We needed to do laundry after being in Ireland for a week already. A staff member told us that, since it was Saturday when we checked in, we wouldn't be able to get it done until Monday (we left Monday). No facilities in the surrounding area for self-serve. She said that she would take care of our laundry by having the staff wash and dry it! We were very grateful for that!

The hotel is old. No elevator, so you have to lug your bags up several flights of stairs to your room. Inside, the room is comfortable but not really up to the standard of a more modern hotel. The wifi was not useable in our room AT ALL! We had to go downstairs to the bar to use it. Very disappointing. The windows did not shut out the constant street noise.

Nice hotel, Nice beach, town in decline..

Nice town Youghal with lovely beach. If you've the right weather great place to stay central with parking. Everything's in walking distance.The town sadly is in decline but still some life in it.

Excellent hotel in the centre of Youghal

I stayed one night on a touring holiday in southern Ireland. It is a charming and characterful hotel on the Main street in the centre of Youghal, very near the bus stop. Although it is a very busy road, my room at the back was very quiet. There is an excelllent bistro in the hotel, where I had a superb dinner.
