This is a beautiful, historic property and pretty consistent with the photos on the website. The room I had was just as pretty with some antique furnishings, but of course in person you notice that it is an old building. The room was a great size, and I loved the hardwood floors. The bathroom was also large and you are provided a sundry of items for convenience. The bed was comfortable, though it did seem to have a center depression. The only other issue I had was that though the the showerhead seemed to have a dial to adjust pressure, I was not able to. Overall the property is in great condition. The staff were welcoming, and the breakfast was outstanding, served in their traditional, historic, and charming restaurant space.

Lovely Inn - Delicious Food - A Pleasant Surprise

This is a lovely Inn that is as charming as its setting. An unexpected pleasure was the delicious food. I loved that you pick your breakfast time and food choice the day before. My only regret was not staying long enough to have each of the breakfast offerings. An added delight was dinner at the Inn. Definitely a 5 star experience. We ate there two nights - each meal choice was superb. Service matched the taste. An overall delightful experience, well worth the cost. I'm still dreaming about those meals - wish I took the chef home with me!

The owners are there everyday. The staff is friendly and very custimer focused. The standards are high and the inn has a great history and is lovely. It felt more like being a house guest than a customer. The restaurant was an outstanding choice for dinner and accommodation for vegetarians and allergies were taken into consideration and excellent meals with tasty desserts and great wine and cocktails now has this on our summer spots to visit!!

Staff / owners were friendly. If you stay here make sure you don't skip a meal. I had the scallops for dinner. I I live on Cape Cod where scallops are a staple. The presentation and the tastes rival the best the Cape has to offer at double the price. Exquisite. Breakfast was excellent too. I normally don't give 5 stars anywhere. This spot exceeded expectations.

Super cute carriage house with everything we needed. The service was amazing I called a few hours ahead since I was running a bit early after driving 6 hours and they let me check in a bit early. Unfortunately we didn’t get to experience breakfast as we were at a family function until late which was after the time the menu was due but I’m sure it would have been as amazing as everything else on the property!

We quite liked this hotel as it was charming and well thought out in many ways. We especially loved the dinner we had the first night. Our room had a fireplace and we loved that feature because it was a bit chillier than we expected. The only thing we would have wished for was a mini fridge in the room, but that’s not a huge deal breaker for us to return someday. It
Is a nice walkable area and an easy to navigate town. Sadly, Bennington Pottery store isn’t open to the public anymore, but the town and surrounding area afforded us many diversions to fill up 3 days.

We had an excellent stay at the Four Chimneys Inn. We've been staying at different places in the Bennington area each time we're there. This was our first at this inn, but it is definitely one of our top picks. Friendly staff, very cozy room (and inn overall), good location, excellent breakfast. Our only disappointment was that they weren't serving dinner on the two nights of our stay. We'll have to come back to try out the restaurant next time. Overall, we highly recommend it.

We loved our stay at the Four Chimney Inn. Great Inn in Bennington. We stayed in the small house in the back which was great for 4 people. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was great. The only strange thing is that the lounge is also the bar and it closes at 9:30pm which means there is no common area where you can sit and just relax.

I would recommend this Inn every good Loves a bed and breakfast and more. A French twist and a French restaurant. They were both magnificent and close to town and surrounding areas or made easy with the close proximity to highways. This is a must visit place rather than booking a hotel it's far better.

Beautiful property but we had a porch off 1st floor bedroom that you entered thru a French door with windows. Wasn’t totally private and the outside door of the porch didn’t lock. So not secure at all. Someone could easily get into our bedroom. They need to fix the locks on that porch. Also put a Curtin up on the inside door that covers the glass window better as it’s right near the bathroom.

The Four Chimneys Inn is just absolutely charming. The innkeeper on duty when we arrived, Meg, was so warm and welcoming, and the Inn itself is unbelievably gorgeous. Our room was clean, pretty, and spacious, with beautiful view of the Inn's property. Breakfast in the morning was served (with wonderful service) in a lovely dining area. The whole thing made us want to spend more time at the Inn instead of going out to do the things we'd actually planned on doing!

Last minute trip for us and it was as remembered from previous stays at the Four Chimney Inn. Staff are very friendly and seem to enjoy working here. We got a smaller room (Room 4) but loved it- Bright, cheery decor (all amenities including bathrobes) and comfy bed. Quiet ensured a restful sleep. Met some friendly co-guests during the delicious breakfast (out of 5 choices). We visited the Bennington Museum and monument. The town has many shops and we had a wonderful dinner there. You won’t go wrong staying here.

The inn is wonderful. Room was comfortable and the inn is well maintained. Nice having access to the bar and delicious homemade x-mas cookies in the evening. The breakfasts were delicious. This was our first time staying here and we chose it for our anniversary. The Inn is spectacular and the owner Lynn is simply the perfect gracious host. We chose room 9 which is a carriage house detached from the main house...absolutely perfect! Separate, private entrance, immaculately clean, decorated and furnished to make you feel right at home. We loved the comfortable sofa right in front of the gas fireplace and the jacuzzi tub! The room was huge and bathroom is adorable with gorgeous marble tile. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! You have a menu to whose from of a few items and they even allowed me to customize my choice to my diet. There is a bar in the one living room with a fireplace that you can sit and relax, read, talk etc in the evening. Lynn and her team are available if you need any recommendations or suggestions on area attractions and dining. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back next year for our anniversary. They make you feel at home & I don’t know what else you can ask for! The grounds are gorgeous and I can imagine a perfect wedding or event bring held outside or inside the stunning Inn. The location is in walking distance to a few museums and antique stores and town is a minute away. We cannot say enough about our stay here and how welcoming and accommodating everyone is here! We were sad to leave and can’t wait to return! Do yourself a favor and stay here! If traveling with kids there is another carriage house room with a loft!

The property itself is very nice, as are the grounds. The woman whom checked us in was very nice, accommodating too. My three issues are they tout a bed and breakfast, yet we were told upon checking-in that unfortunately the full service breakfast would be a continental one. That wasn’t communicated anywhere when booked. Secondly the continental breakfast only went until 9:30am, early in my opinion based on other B&B’s visited in the past. The receptionist at check-in inquired on when we’d be coming down for breakfast and I noted it would be closer to 9:30am. At 9:15am it was already put away and the area cleaned up. The gentleman cleaning up eyeballed me bigtime when I was only taking coffee, like even that was an inconvenience. I don’t sense there was more than a few couples at the Inn in total. You’d think they’d be more accommodating. Lastly they have microfiber sheets and pillow cases, not cotton. I can’t imagine sleeping on that when it’s hot, even with AC. Overall I’d give it a C at best.

We found the mattress too soft and the sitting area where the TV was located was furnished with 2 upright chairs that fit the space but did not allow for more comfortable seating for two persons together. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. It was the perfect halfway point for our trip to Burlington. The bathroom in our room was spacious.The breakfast was delicious and service good. I liked having tea available all day. It was a nice perk being a tea drinker. Having a bar was also a nice perk. The fire place in the common room was nice to sit by and read. Excellent Place- Very Comfortable

We wanted to get away for 1 day and did not want to travel very far so we decided to get up to Bennington VT and check out the Four Chimneys Inn. We were very pleased with the room and the people who welcomed us. We will be returning again--probably next year for a 1 day get away again.
