There was a connecting room between the 2 rooms that didnt lock,it just had one of those door stop things. There was large gap between the door and the frame of the door. Not a very secure feeling while you're trying to sleep.

The young man checking me in was pleasant. However, pulling up, it looked seedy, but hey let's check it out. Pulled around to our outside door and went in without luggage to check it out. Walked down to a room 109, opened the door, walked in and turned around 5 minutes later. Zero chance I could sleep or even shower in this room. Dingy and absolutely unacceptable. Main door, TWO connecting doors, and a huge glass sliding door on the main floor. Absolutely not. For the price they were charging this has to be decent, right? Absolutely wrong. I am in a hotel probably 30% of my life and I simply could NOT stay here. Whole place should be condemned. Looked in the bathroom and it was pieced together with different colors even. Door locks hanging wrong. Literally a dungeon like jail. And as an avid traveler I review and research everything. I have ZERO idea how this place is in business. Went to the front desk told the young man I was leaving to find something else. Asking his manager to please call me tomorrow morning. No call. I called maybe 10am. Said there was nothing they could do. I'm not paying for a room I was in for 5 minutes that seemed unsafe and not even clean up to par. Thank you Expedia for handling things properly.

I am actually appalled by this whole situation. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The room was clean. The refrigerator didn't work and there was a loud banging sound every once in a while from the building, I think from the heating or someone turning the water on and off, idk but it woke me up a couple of times. There was also someone playing loud music in their car in the parking lot from like 8pm to 10pm, not really the motels fault but it was annoying.

Staff was helpful, promptly brought fresh things for the pull out couch which had unfortunately missed its last cleaning. Fresh towels and toilet paper were dropped off and garbage removed as needed during our stay. Breakfast was simple and more than most places offer these days (various daily opinions like bagels & cereal then rotating hot options like bacon, sausage, omelettes and egg patties). Despite the one snafu with the pull out bed, the rest of the room was clean and we'd stay there again.

To set up my frustration, they have a 99% vacancy rate. When i checked in they keyd me a room that occupied actively. How when there are so many vacant? The toliet was on extreme water savor mode. The rooms have no sound insulation and the only other occupant and the room i initally walked into with the wrong key was right next door after I got a new key. The room had a smell of...maybe formaldehyde. The shades would stay closed easily. The hot water int he shower was warm at best. Think converted motel. Couldnt sleep due to noise i though was consrtuction over me all night, but there was no one upstiars, it was my neighbor.

Breakfast was great. The room was clean but there was no heat and and I had trouble sleeping because it was so cold. Other guests were taking about it at breakfast so it's no just me.I complained but still no heat. I asked for a blanket which smelled. My coffee pot was broken. I asked for a new one but didn't get it so I had to go to the front desk where they gave me one in a box that I had to set up myself. At over $200 a night, I expect heat.

The staff was great. The refrigerator in my room wasn’t working. I went to the front desk and the girl was unable to reach maintenance, but she managed to find a new fridge, carried it to my room and set it up. She went above and beyond and I was truly thankful.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bread/bagels at the breakfast buffet were individually wrapped. The dining area was neat and the staff taking care of the area was in and out, replenishing and cleaning.

We booked a room with two queen beds (as shown in the photo) on Expedia. We got a room with one queen bed and there were no other rooms available. Our stay was not at all comfortable least to say. The hotel did not care and said it was Expedia's problem. Advice to Expedia - Make sure your customers get exactly what they booked. I have used Expedia extensively in the past, but now I going to look at other options.

It would be hard to remember being offered a worse hotel room: Grimy all over. Room phone had either coffee or syrup spilled all over it, not cleaned. Supposed to have a coffee maker---did not. Light fixture next to bed was missing bottom covering, so it was exposed with sharp edges. Bathroom floor dirty in corners. Bathroom had a literally exposed hole in ceiling where light covering should be. Remote would not turn on TV. AC unit was not working and from the looks of it had not worked since about 1978. And Ive saved the best for last....shower had no shower head.....just an exposed metal pipe , where water ran out in a straight line like a garden hose.

In our room, it was clean and roomy. However, there was no hand soap for the sink(had to go get some at front desk), the coffeemaker didn’t work, only 1 small trash bin for the entire space, heating/ cooling was rather wonky. Didn’t feel like the room was worth the $300+ dollars we spent.

There seemed like some sketchy guys hanging around. I didnt feel safe, the corridor leading to our room had a couple doors to use your key to get in but they werent in use. Was worried the whole night about our car that was out of view. When the ice machine said it was broken the guy at the desk told us to go buy our own ice at walmart! Went to look at other reviews, which I should have done before booking. Claims made people live there. So, what, dont want to supply ice for them so other guests dont get it either? The room was clean and comfortable. Looks like they are remodeling. However definitely not up to Best Western standards.

To Whom it May Concern,
My wife and I were very dissatisfied with our recent stay at the Bennington Best Western Motel that we booked through Expedia. From the moment when we checked in at the main office we were concerned because we could see that the upkeep was not being done at this hotel. There were huge cobwebs/spider webs in the entry windows with debris and dead bugs all over them. We both hoped that the webs were isolated and the rooms would be better.
We were given room 177 which was located down a hall which was located through a blue door. When we entered the blue door, there was an ice machine in the hall with a sign on it reading “Out Of Order”. We then had to go through another door and then down a couple of steps and then by mattresses and box springs that were in the hall to another door that we went through, and finally our room was the first one on the right after that door.
Upon entering the room we could already see what we were worried about, that the upkeep was not happening at this establishment. We were not happy and were going to leave, but decided to stay because we didn’t have anywhere else where we could stay.
The first thing we noticed is the debris on the entry rug and the floor as we walked in. We then noticed that the shades on the lights that were working were ripped, dirty and damaged. The reason I say the ones that were working is because the main light and one of the lights between the beds were not working. (Not enough room to add all)

Previous stays have been good with no issues. This stay the remote for the A/C did not work and had to reset the power for the unit. The tv remote only partially worked and never received a replacement after notifying staff. The power in the bathroom kept shutting off while only using the light and (faulty ground fault receptacle I believe). The shower wall had a large crack/hole and there was what appeared to be mold along the base of the surround. Staff were pleasant enough at check in but process took longer than normal.

Room was disgusting. Open the door to a few dozen bugs flying around and urine stained mattress cover and topper with clean fitted and top sheets. Meaning, the cleaning staff put clean stuff on top of the soiled. We noped out of there fast. Staff was friendly and refunded us immediately, but then I had to drive my family around town and pay a premium for a last-minute room at another hotel. I think I'm done with Best Western.

We booked the Best Western thinking it would be similar to other Best Westerns. Nope. They only had 2nd story rooms with no elevators. My 90 year old husband cannot do stairs. So we were left on the street with no place to stay, as well as having to pay for 2 nights when we could not get into a room. A horrible experience, with no concern from the manager.

When we booked this “Best Western”, we wrongly assumed it would have similar amenities to all other Best Westerns. When we arrived to check in, were told there were no rooms available on the first floor and that there was no elevator. My 90 year old husband cannot climb stairs. So we were left on the street with no room, but were charged the $300 due to the non-refundable policy. Pretty shocking for us old folks. No more Best Westerns for us 😣

They were remodeling rooms at the resort, so the mattress was new, but they put it on this Metal platform so every time you walked by, you would accidentally kick the platform and it would make a horrible noise if you move too much on the bed it would also be loud. The shower was really gross. You can tell it had not been cleaned in a really long time the bathroom fan did not work.

The location served my needs, BUT the property is run down, falling apart, security lock half off the door, towel hanger off the wall and lying on the sink counter, poor lighting, dark and drab furnishings, dirty floor and in general a poor member of the Best Western brand. The office staff is VERY nice, but the property needs a total overhaul, new lighting, a more contemporary look, decent coffee with the breakfast, and a general uplift.

I suppose the property served our purpose. But, during our first night we discussed moving to another hotel but feared we would still be charged for our second night. It looks like the extended Vermont hotel/motel program is still happening here. There were gusts next to us that purchased a good sized gas grill and were preparing their meals with it on our shared wooden deck. Thus, we did not feel too safe about this. The slamming doors next to us were annoying as well prompting our wanting to move. But, we decided to “ make the best of it “ but would not rebook here. I found two sheet metal nails within my parking spot . I’ve been in the hotel business for 30 years, I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews but a property can always use guest feedback good or bad.

I booked this place quickly the morning of because we were in Canada and I had limited cellphone service. I trusted the name of Best Western without reading reviews which was a mistake I won’t make again. The staff was friendly but the rooms were old and dirty. I booked here to save some money but I regretted it the moment we stepped foot into the room. The bathroom looked gross, we decided to skip showers. My sheets were dirty, brown stains on the comforter. I slept in my clothes and used no covers. We felt uncomfortable the entire night and barely slept. The walls were paper thin and you could hear the guests upstairs as well. There was a glass sliding door that led to a shared patio that connected to the other rooms outside which housed long term residents as we could see them right outside our door. The room had an adjoining door on both sides of the room. I cannot recommend staying here. Spend the money to be comfortable.

I think they’re going through a remodel or recently became a Best Western. We had three rooms and all smelled like cigarettes. Also air didn’t work well and rooms were warm. A lot of the rooms seemed to be getting redone and it was a little loud. My bathroom shower had nothing to put the soap and shampoo on except the ground.

first room had only one bed when reservation was for 2beds. this was hotels .com/expedia error when front desk person showed me their referral screen. The gentleman kindly offered me a second room which also only had one bed because that's the only thing he had available but we at least had a pull out couch. went to pull the couch out and it was very difficult to do so and upon finally getting it open there were literally blood stained sheets I had to go back to the front desk again and we were given a third room. The gentleman at the front desk was accommodating but situation was a little unnerving. We would've just change to go elsewhere but this was a nonrefundable room and it was nearly 10 o'clock at night after a 6 hour drive.

Understanding this isn't a luxury room, However, I do have some expectations. I expect the room to be clean and smell clean. This was a non-smoking room but had a heavy heavy cigarette smell. The floor was spongy and felt 1/2 rotten, the Bathroom was passable but the caulking in the shower was all cracked with mildew around the edges. The AC/Heat pump was so loud when I kicks on, I slept very little.

When we arrived the check in ptocess was easy the guy working the desk was friendly. He got us checked in and assigned us a room. We got to the room and it hadnt been cleaned since the last person which happens no big deal. I went back to check in and the employee assigned us a new room snd apologized. We got into the new room which was s “deluxe”. It smelled like body odor upon entering. There was foid sneared on the curtains there was stuff stuck to the ceiling the pullout sofa was mist likely the source of the smell. My wife the pulled back the sheet to check the bed bug cover snd it looked like someone pissed and bled all over it absolutely disgusting. Obviously we weren’t sleeping in this room and our faith thata cleannroom woukd be available at this hotel was lost. I went to ask for a refund and showed the employee the pictures but was told he couldn’t issue a refund. Im still working on that and will most likely be calling Best Western themselves because they should know how disgusting this place is and their name shouldn’t be attato it.
