Dora was amazing! She helped us plan some great day trips. More local traditional Greek food at the dinner buffet would have been appreciated. Our room was very damp and smelt musty. We only stayed for 3 nights but would have asked to be moved if staying longer. .

We had a wonderful stay at Domes Aulus. We arrived late and were greeted and told to get some dinner while they did the check in process. Our room was so nice with a private pool (we booked) and had an amazing view. Most rooms in VIP are located on a very steep hill and you need a shuttle to get up and down. We never waited long for a shuttle. Food was very good and there is lots of selection. Very close to nearby towns and restaurants (car or taxi) we always felt very safe and enjoyed visit g the near by towns. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here for a week. We were a family of 4. My main criticsm was that the hotel was on steep slope. We were first in rooms 511/512. We always had to call reception for a golf buggy/ car to take us to the main hotel and back. was ok at first but got tiring so we requested a change of rooms and got 211/212. I did try walking back to our room on 5th floor one day and my legs were on fire!! Most people wore trainers and only the brave wore heels! Our shower was a bit disappointing because it was not enclosed. It had a 3 foot fixed screen so water everywhere and the shower head you had to hold because the bracket was hip height. So you couldn't have a long shower. The rooms were a high standard though. We enjoyed the food even though others have said negative. The restaurants you had to prebook so do this asap when you check in because the food is excellent. The toaster is very very slow. The T bags were very weak so take Yorkshire Tea bags if your from UK. Get to the island restaurant when it opens for lunch/dinner early because some of the food does dry out under the heat lamps. The greek deserts were delicious! The beach was a let down because it wasn't a sandy beach. When you walk into the water, there were smalls rocks and pebbles so wear beach shoes or teva style sandals. They had good cocktails in the beach bar but only cold cheese rolls and other snacks from the fridge. Would have loved a toasted sandwich or chips or something hot. Overall 8/10.

Stunningly beautiful property. However, I was not impressed by the inability to get a reservation at the restaurants, which made us eat at the buffet all except for one night. Was also upset by the cleanliness of the main pool. It turned my white swimsuit green and ruined it. Not worth the price in my opinion

Situated in a quiet part of Elounda, the hotel offers stunning views across the bay.
We had a very relaxing stay. Here’s the pros and cons.
Pro’s:
1. A small but pleasant shingle beach. Comfortable padded sun beds readily available. Very few guests reserve sunbeds, which is a nice stress-free experience.
2. There is a nice little bar on the beach, open from around 10/10:15am, serving coffee, cocktails and various alcoholic and non alcoholic options. There is also a large chiller cabinet where you can grab water, beer and soft drinks as often as you like.
3. There are grab and go lunch boxes available on the beach from 12 noon - salads and sandwiches.
4. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
5. Rooms are clean and cool.
6. The bar in the amphitheatre area is a lovely place to have sundowners. Try the Hugo cocktail!

Cons:
1. The swimming pool area is tired and the sunbeds were a bit dirty. There is paint peeling off the swimming pool floor. The pool is painted a very dark colour, making it very uninviting.
2. The dining options are not great. Breakfast is fine, with plenty of options. The buffet dinner, however, is not of a good enough standard for the resort. The Ampitheatre offered some nice Italian options, but the Greek souvlaki options were really disappointing (you can book this restaurant twice per week), and the Sushi was good at the Yellow Sea restaurant - but no starters were offered, and dessert was just one option.

We had a good time. I would recommend getting the ‘cool living’ package as it is on par with a 5* hotel, but if you don’t have that package I think it would feel closer to a 4*. The beach was really good!

It was great overall. Good food, a nice beach, nice views, comfy rooms, and good drinks. The only things that could would improve it would be not playing music at the beach all the time because the sound of the sea is nice. Other than that no complaints. Lots of stuff to do around there and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful.

Great stay - staff were lovely and amazing. Food was really good and service first class.

We were not briefed that well at check in (we had a Suite) so would have liked to use the pool at the top of the resort which looks amazing. The one by reception is tired.

Sadly the water in our private pool was v cold but overall we will return but would want to stay near the top of the resort. It’s high - very high but has spectacular views.

Great long weekend get away at end of April

We went for a 5 day get away at the end of April. The weather was great and the hotel was perfect. The adults only nature of the hotel ensured that we didn't have to put up with kids running around, the food was excellent for all three meals. Only 20 minute walk from Elounda town allowed us to also go to eat/shop there. Car rental service directly from the hotel was efficient. The staff very friendly and helpful. The Wednesday night show of traditional Greek music and dance was lively. The private pool on the balcony was perfect for a dip after a hot day. Great service of the receptions, managers and concierge during and after the trip. Staff spoke at least 3 languages without problem. Only potential negative is the distance from Heriaklion if you need to go there (and some of the sites around), however do not hesitate to rent a car for one or two days if necessary!

Nice hotel for a relaxing vacation

My wife and I went there for our honeymoon. The hotel is well kept and clean. The room is basic with no frills but comfortable. The housekeeping staff kept the room very clean mopping everyday. The room we got had a shared pool with the room next door. It was nice to have but we rarely used iy and only got sun in the morning so not sure if it is worth it to spend the extra money unless you come earlier in the season and its warmer. I would recomend asking for a room that is higher up on the hill if you are physically able to do the hike. The hill is pretty steep but the view is amazing.

The main pool was where we were most of the time. They have a pool bar and there is always food around. Toward the end of their season in oct they do an all inclusive with includes all food and alchohol and drinks. It really made this trip affordable for us. The food was fantastic it is buffet style and they have lots of options amd it changes everyday.
The beach was also very nice. Had its own bar there as well and they provided chairs and umbrellas.

The hotel is within walking distance of elunda which is a great place to grab a bite. I recommend rudi's a pub that great basic bar food and has some great drinks and patrons. We made friends with a lot of folks there. You can also take a boat to spinalinga in elunda as well. Plaka has great shopping.

The highed praise of this hotel is the staff. They are warm and friendly and really made our stay special. We will definitely be back.

Amazing relaxing holiday

My wife and I choose this hotel for our 5th anniversary and we can't be more happy with our choice! The hotel is the best if you want a relaxing vacation with no noisy kids/teenagers around.

The staff is simply amazing! Friendly, professional and always ready to help they made or vacation special.

We will definitely go back again next year!

Great hotel!

No kids or noisy teenagers, so very relaxing! Food excellent, I especially liked the Tuesdays which were Cretan themed buffet and music,
NIce entertainment, a bit for every taste (I did not like the Dancers, found them a bit cheap and tacky but some seemed to like them!)
All staff extremely friendly although it was almost end of the season and they have had a long season!
I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Modern. comfortable, quiet but NB steep terrain.

A good option for those looking for a quieter location some 2.5km from the Elounda strip. Not suitable for those with mobility issues due to the steep terrain. Best to go for half board. The self-service buffet works well and the food is a bit better than the average taverna. The out-of-season all inclusive package is good value.

Good Location

The food at the Elounda Blue Bay Hotel was very good.
The rooms could do with an update,the floors in the rooms need tiling,they are just painted concrete,and the decor is a bit tired.
I would not grade the hotel 4 star,more 3 star,but for the price we paid,we were very pleased.
The hotel is not suitable for anyone with immobility,as the rooms are on a VERY steep hill.

We have stayed at the Elounda Blue Bay three times over the last six years. It is always a pleasure to return there. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is good and plentiful. Rooms though a little tired are very clean and comfortable, with plenty of clean towels. The views are out of this world, what more could you ask for?

Die Mini Bar wird nur einmal pro Aufenthalt befüllt. Als wir angereist sind war die Bar und die Kaffeemaschine nicht aufgefüllt. Unser Zimmer wurde erst am dritten Reisetag nachdem wir nachgefragt haben gereinigt. Das sind ist schön eingerichtet und auch die Aussicht war wie versprochen. Jedoch ist das ganze Zimmer renovierungsbedürftig. Die Badewanne war schmutzig und der Wasserstrahl der Dusche war extrem schwach. Im Eingangsbereich hatte es Wasser in der Wand und es war ersichtlich das in dem Zimmer schon einige Reparaturen vorgenommen wurden allerdings in sehr schlechter Qualität. Unsere Suit war auf einem Hügel und es wurde uns zugesichert dass wir jeder Zeit mit dem Shuttle oder einem car transportiert werden, jedoch kam der Shuttle des Öfteren nicht und wenn wir nach einem separaten car gefragt haben hiess es wir müssten auf den Shuttle warten. Alkoholische Getränke sind nur Wein Bier und Prosecco hauptsächlich ausserhalb des Zimmers inklusive. Das offene Büffet war lecker jedoch sehr übersichtlich

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön! Auch Essen und Trinken war top. Die Anlage war zum Teil sehr steil, worauf man sich eventuell einstellen sollte und es war jetzt nicht super viel in näherer Umgebung. Trotzdem sehr zufrieden gewesen!

An sich ein gutes Hotel. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet. Der Hügel sollte aber nicht unterschätzt werden und somit ist das Hotel für Leute mit Geh Problemen nicht geeignet. Essen ist gut nur leider nicht sehr abwechslungsreich.

Helt fantastisk hotel

Virkelig skønt hotel. Udsigten er magisk. Omgivelserne er stille, ingen larm fra gågader eller lignende. Vi var så heldige at blive opgraderet til et værelse med egen pool - så fornemt! Personalet er så søde, servicen helt i top. Vi nåede ikke at spise på a la carte restauranterne, men stranden og strandbaren var i top. Virkelig dejlige drinks! Og så er der shuttle bus der henter og bringer gæsterne fra deres værelser, da hotellet område er meget stejlt. Vi kommer klart igen!

had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The buffet offered a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything was fresh and delicious. If you book a room from the Cool Living Selection, you even get the chance to visit the nearest town in the evening with a complimentary cocktail in a local bar – such a nice touch!

Upon arrival, everything was clearly explained, and the staff took their time to make sure I felt welcome. Everyone was friendly and eager to answer any questions I had. The beach was great too – it’s a stone beach, but the atmosphere and view more than made up for it.

Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

Zu viele Gäste für zu wenige Mitarbeiter. Der Service ist sehr schlecht. An der Bar muss man etwa 15 Minuten auf ein Getränk warten, weil nur ein Barkeeper für rund 10 wartende Gäste da ist – und obendrein arbeiten sie sehr langsam.

Dasselbe gilt auch für die Restaurants: Auf allen Buchungsplattformen wird „All-Inclusive mit Restaurants“ versprochen, aber tatsächlich kann man während des gesamten Aufenthalts nur einmal in ein Restaurant gehen – nicht täglich. Als Ausrede heißt es: „Das Restaurant ist ausgebucht“. Doch jedes Mal, wenn wir uns selbst davon überzeugt haben, waren höchstens 3-4 Tische belegt, der Rest war leer.

Als Alternative bleibt nur das Buffet – aber selbst dort wurden wir dreimal abgewiesen, weil es zu voll war und es keine Sitzplätze mehr gab.

Das Hotel verdient höchstens drei Sterne. Von außen sieht es vielleicht aus wie ein Fünf-Sterne-Hotel, aber der Service und zusätzlich die Qualität des Essens sind wirklich schlecht.

Après avoir séjourné plusieurs jours, voici nos observations. Il y a un système pour la réservation des restaurants, cependant, pour un simple restaurant « italien » nous avons eu de la place la veille de notre départ. Impossible de réserver d’autres restaurants car toujours « complet ». A la plage, sur 6 jours, aucuns jours sans devoir attendre des heures pour avoir une place sur les transats. Les gens laissent leurs linges de plage, partent toute la journée et reviennent en fin de journée. Nous avons fait la remarque à plusieurs reprises au personnel, mais rien ne change. Concernant les soins, massages et autres. Des l’arrivé, nous avons voulu réservé. Malheureusement, pas de place avant le dimanche alors que nous rentrions le samedi. Soit 1 semaine d’attente. Voici nos observations.
