I was actually surprised that this turned out so good. I booked on Expedia for the first time and the check in was the easiest hotel check in ever. Went to front desk ask for my id gave me a key and that was it, they didn’t ask me to leave a credit card on file nothing. I was shook I felt like I was finally in the future. The staff was extremely friendly too I was never expecting that.

Great location for exploring tricity and Hel. By the beach which was very nice with a promenade. Lots of places to eat from nearby. Great breakfast. Hotel’s restaurant had very little choice and service there was extremely slow. Small portions but nice. Ate there only once for those reasons.Car park at the hotel at discounted price for guests.
Pool area very disappointing. Water very cold. Busy with kids swimming club. There also was a group of people learning to scuba dive…but we still managed to have a little swim and they gave us a towel and key for locker. Changing room mixed everyone together. Something that was new to me and I didn’t like that experience. Thought to warm up after pool in sauna but that wasn’t working…
Rooms are very tired but slept well for three nights. Kettle in the room but cups and glasses very dusty. Water machine available for as much water as you like. Still or sparkling. Wi Fi working fine, no issues. Same to TV.

I went to Gdynia to retrieve a shipment by boat from America. I was terribly shocked they do carry Champions League football on their channels. I had to find a Pub to go watch the game.Otherwise nice people on staff.

Check in was easy and smooth. Parking is not included with the price of the room, but you can pay it for the length of you stay at check in. The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants, bars, and the beach.

Scuffed and marked walls, ceilings and floors and furniture
New windows and bathroom but only a shower not a bath
Radiator that makes a lot of noise but not much heat
Doors removed from wardrobe
Drilling in the afternoon
Freezing bathroom floor and no heating, not even the towel rail
Filthy stained corridor carpet
No adapter or USB port to charge my phone
Stained bed cover
Shower turns to burning hot on its own
Shower drain blocked so flooded the bathroom

Perfect for our needs

Although a little tired this hotel served its purpose for us. The rooms were plenty big enough as was the bathroom. We asked for the locked windows to be opened as it was very hot in our room and the corridors were even hotter. Within 5 mins a lady came up with a key and the job was done. Lovely view looking out towards the sea and the location was perfect for us. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in excellent location. We went for privilege room with sea view. The only little issues were with room being to warm even with air conditioning on. Other thing was that the room door were not seating straight and you had to pull them to make sure that the room was locked. Mention that to the reception on arrival they send someone to fix it but it didn’t get any better. Just think that this being the best room type they should be kept in better state. Really friendly bar staff that looked like they knew and were interested in their wines. Overall great stay and don’t think that you could find better placed hotel in Gdynia.

We haven't traveled abroad much so perhaps this is our ignorance but we were surprised that a "standard" room doesn't include air conditioning. The windows only opened an inch or so so weren't much help. Also we were informed that the "standard" didn't come with a mini-fridge. Those two items are the reasons I don't give a higher score. Everything else was fine, courteous staff and nice views from our top floor room.

Upgrade required to British standard ! I had

Had to upgrade to room with A/C . This was after emailing the hotel x2 for a room with a/c and a fridge. This was 2 weeks before I arrived but they ignored the emails. The upgrade was £200 + which was over and above the price I paid the Agency . Expedia. I don,t think I should have to pay extra for a standard room with a/c..The least I should get is a refund for the upgrade. They said I got a reduction but + £ 200 is too much . The breakfasts were not good enough for a standard buffet in a good hotel.

The hotel's location is excellent if you are new to Gdynia and want to be close to everything. It's a bit of a walk to the train station, but not too bad (feels longer when you're tired and have heavy luggage.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. There's a pool in the hotel for those who want to swim. The restaurant/wine bar in the hotel are excellent.

Fairly decent hotel, mixed experience with staff.

Decent hotel, which was in the midst of a renovation. Some parts were nice and new, other parts old and in disrepair.
Unfortunately we were staying in the older part but it was still ok. We had a mixed experience with staff. Some of the staff were excellent and cheerful but others were less so. When we checked in the woman let us know our breakfast was included in our stay, then the next morning we were told by another member of staff curtly that it was not and treated us as if we were attempted to steal bread and it wasn't a simple matter to fix after we ate. We cleared it up but the experience was odd. Overall, the experience was still nice, some of the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. For a 3 star hotel I can't really complain, but below par with other Mercure's generally.

Good location, nice family suite-appartment (2 rooms!) but lack of air condition and strange behavior of hot water, every 1 minute it was very hot water going from shower for 1s and then back to set temperature. As long as adult can withstand - my daughter was burned once and was crying.

Booked room full of disappointment - bathroom light not working, door not closing properly, dirty beer mug on top of cupboard, cupboard doors stuck open plus a few other quibbles, complained the next morning and was immediately upgraded to prestige suite, staff could not have been more efficient or nicer.
So a major plus after a dodgy start.

This hotel is priced quite high and the rooms are very old (they look like a 20-30 years old)

We stayed at similar hotels in Warsaw and Krakow for about half the price and those were miles better than this one. I would definitely not go back again to this one

Hotel is in very good location, walking distance to all major attractions. Rooms are very comfortable and nicely done. I must admit the only bad thing is loud music coming from club near by. So the only way to have a good night sleep is to have earplugs.

Great location. Clean & comfortable but no A/C.

We picked this hotel due to it's location to the beach & the train station. It didn't start well as the hotel hadn't received the confirmation from hotels.com, fortunately they had a room available & sorted it out. The room on the 5th floor was very clean & comfortable, however we soon learned that it didn't have air conditioning & the temperature hit 30 degrees during our stay. I would consider the hotel again, but maybe not in the middle of summer.

2014 Major Renovation in Progress

The hotel needs and is receiving a major refurbishment this year so we probably experienced it at its worst.
Superb location and importantly for us accepts pets but beware of one of their parking attendants who can be extremely aggressive, rude, arrogant and downright impertinent if even your tiny Yorkshire Terrier dog dares to pee a few drops on one of his traffic cones.

comfortable stay at hotel gdynia. but the foyer seemed quite draughty, and slightly unwelcoming, also could not use stairs as exit was locked. the elevators seemed to be taken over by children playing on them had to wait 20 mins for the elevator sometimes. but overall a good hotel

One night in Gdynia

We got seaview rooms that had wonderful views. No air conditioning. So it was hot when we first walked in. But after we opened the windows and a storm poured down rain, it cooled off enough to be comfortable.

Needed to get a special adaptor for recharging cell phone and laptop, as this hotel--unlike some others--has not updated its plugs to include one with U.S. compatible port.

Loved how close hotel is to the sea. Had dinner at rooftop restaurant connected to naval museum in walking distance from hotel.

Nice hotel

Great! Take a wash cloth with you for you will not find it in your bathroom. Also the bathroom faucet splatters a lot. Other than that very nice customer service and you can always ask for a hair dryer at the service desk and swim in the swimming pool.

I was very pleased with my 6-night stay at the "Hotel GDYNIA" (as the locals called it). The location was great: it was close to restaurants, banks, public transportation, and the harbor. The hotel price was very reasonable too. I would definitely stay here again.

appreciated the service at the front desk ensuring taking a message and checking twice (as it was important) that I had received it.
Room looked out onto the sea - brilliant. However, as it was summer and a Friday and Saturday night, I could hear the bass from the temporary clubs out on the pier. Not horribly loud, but with windows closed and ear plugs, could still hear it.
Room otherwise quiet, clean, comfortable.

Great location! Close to dining, entertainment, museums and other seaport city attractions. Short driving to charming City of Sopot, Gdansk and the beautiful beaches along Baltic coast of Hel Peninsula. Unfortunately most tourist attractions available only in the high summer season from May through September.

Gdynia is far from Gdansk airport

I was there on business. My destination was Torun, but my airport was Gdansk. I had been informed that Gdynia and Gdansk were one in the same but I learned quite the contrary due to the exorbitant taxi fare to the airport, forcing me to get up at 4 am. The hotel was fine, but not the location I wanted. There are plenty of small hotels in Gdansk and if I ever fly this route again, I will not take a hotel through any agency.

The building can use some face lift, but the grounds and labby make up for it. Room very large and comfortable. Great service (see you all again, maybe next year) City view-exelent, brought many memories. And location.... the best in Gdynia. If you dont have time to visit the beach or explore the main street during day, try at night. We did, very safe. The taxi service from the hotel very affortable, no need for public transportation. Ask for business card.They will pick you up at any location with no extra charge.

Clean and conveniently located hotel

We spent one night in Gdynia Orbis in January 2011 during a cross-Europe vacation. We were very pleased with this hotel overall and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable room at a reasonable price. It was a 15 min cab away from the Stenaline ferry terminal and located near the aquarium, port and a shopping district.

The hotel staff were friendly and accomodating. We were able to get a late check out and have our luggage stored after check out without any problem.

The room was clean and spacious. There was even a mini fridge built into the cabinet that we only discovered just before leaving. The bed was quite comfortable and large.

orbis hotel - the concrete monstrosity

From the outside, the hotel looks like a big concrete block - unremarkable. Inside, the hotel is smart, clean and well presented. The reception staff were friendly without being helpful and the rooms were clean and functional. The service in the restaurant was excellent - we arived really late, about 10pm and the staff in the empty restaurant were friendly and helpful. The pool and changing areas need updating - it felt like going down to the local lido. The sauna is also outdated and there is a seperate charge to use it.

this hotel is situated in prime position,, convenient to both town and beach. rooms are quite basic but contain a mini fridge which is always handy. no air conditioning and when windows are open it is quite noisy outside. bathroom is modern except for the hairdryer which gets too hot very quickly. the breakfast is expensive by polish standards , but was really very good, great selection of fresh foods. i would recommend this hotel for its location.

Good situation, near the beach, city and harbour. Playroom for kids was nice. Room condition was ok, but I didn´t like the smell of cigarette in the textiles. Anycase a good overnightstay on the way. We didn´t eat at the restaurant (dinner nor breakfast) so can´t say anything about it.
