I love staying at Porto Palace! The staff have excellent customer service skills, are courteous and always have a smile. They accommodated every request I made and provided guidance when needed. Thank you for providing an amazing gym with wonderful selection of music! Spa was incredible!!!! Breakfast options are excellent and hours are convenient. This is the best hotel in Thessaloniki!!!! Thank you for making our stay amazing!

There was nothing nice about the receptionists in Porto both very rude.
I've booked to have resort experience with breakfast... Its not possible there... Nothing is possible in that place... They say that you've bookex \"room only\". .. Really? Theres no resort experience beside they overcharge everything...
It's the \"Bar Only\" you rather have drinks here have a good time and look for another room only experience.

Large and comfortable room, amazing bathtub. Excellent coffee at the bar and food at the restaurant. Two different front desk agents graciously helped me fix an error made by a local covid pcr testing facility. I was thrilled with this hotel and its staff.

The toilet floor needs to be anti slip proofed and the rooms don’t have electric kettle or complimentary water or coffee/tea so disappointing. Other than these the room is comfortable.

Great hotel with light airy rooms.

Large open plan lobby/lounge area with a bar. Fabulous breakfast! There is rooftop terrace with a full restaurant menu and bar service with a couple of plunge pools which we enjoyed.It has a great view over the mountains or the town.
Spotlessly clean throughout. The only small drawback is the location which is next to the old port buildings now mostly derelict . There are no bars/shops/restaurants within a half hour walk. Taxi into town is around 5 euros.

We were advised of a hotel change 4 months ago. Very nice hotel with everything you can expect. Staff were friendly and went out of there way to assist you. The only issue was the location, right next to the wharf lol. Otherwise a superb hotel.

Very nice hotel with port views

The Porto Palace Hotel has nice views of the port. A little outside the city center which meant a nice long walk to shop, eat out and see the sites or a taxi ride. But it also meant it was peaceful and quiet.
This hotel also had some nice amenities. There is an onsite restaurant, which served a nice breakfast buffet. There was a fitness center which provided massages. The masseuse was excellent. There was a small business center where we were able to use the internet and print out passes. The only amenity we were disappointed in was due to cultural differences. This hotel also has 2 spas. In America we call these hot tubs and the water is typically 100 degrees or higher. When we went to use the spas the water was very cool. We discovered in Greece the spas are set to room temperature. Not what we were expecting or enjoyed.
The staff we met were all friendly and helpful and went out of their way to serve us. I would recommend this hotel for your next visit to Thessaloniki

The porto palace is a lovely clean, comfortable hotel. The staff are very helpful and pleasant.
Lovely restaurant, serving good food.
The only downside for this hotel is its location, there is absolutely nothing around the hotel except run down buildings, the nearest bars and restaurants are a taxi ride away and not within walking distance.

Value for the money !!!

We were accomodate in superior double room
The bed is very comortable ,nice led tv set with many nataional channels. The bathroom is nicely decoreted , clean and equipt with all necessery supplement ( hairdryer,bathrobe,slippers etc). The staff i very polite and pleasant. Breakfast is delicious with many things to choose. Next to the hotel there is closed parking.
I highly recommend this hotel and I give thumbs up to the managment of Porto Palce to keep up with the great work.

The hotel in the middle of a dead zone

This hotel has nothing around it but abandoned businesses! The whole area appears very run down. It appears that the hotel is on it's last leg financially! The television is an old nineteen inch tube model. The make up mirror is too far from the bathroom sink and light to be usable. The bed was so hard it was very much like sleeping on cardboard. The phone would not reach the desk.

Not a 5 star hotel

the hotel is located in area which is far from the center of the city. The air conditioning in the room was not working and the room was very hot (even in a rainy day, when we had the opportunity of staying there. This is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel.

The room and the bathroom were small.

The breakfast didn't include the orange juice (with fresh oranges) which was paid as an extra (relatively expensive one).

Very reasonable hotel marred by smokey air con

The hotel is within a short taxi ride of town. The reception are and restaurants are very pleasant.
The major disappointment was a very very heavy smell of cigarettes in the room and via the air conditioning system in a non-smoking room, which only becomes apparent when entering the rooms.

Decent hotel; strange location

This is a good hotel, but plonked in the middle of a disused docks area. It's surrounded by old warehouses, and 3-4 clubs; great location if you're visiting the latter, but a long way out of town if you're a regular tourist. Restaurant was good, if not outstanding; staff were friendly and helpful. It was great for us (50 yards from the Block 33 gig venue) but I wouldn't stay here ifI wanted to visit Thessaloniki ....

Disappointing

The first night in our three night stay, the hotel was hosting a wedding reception in their main hall. The music from the reception was so loud it reverberated clearly throughout the hotel from 9pm - 4am. When I called at 1030pm to complain that we could not sleep, the reception staff were at first surprised that we wanted to go to sleep so early. Then they offered to move us to another room, but said it would probably have the same noise. The hotel appears geared towards hosting large receptions and not to families. Also, the hotel's location is in a neighborhood that is very run-down. Many abandoned buildings adjacent to the hotel and all along the street. You need a vehicle to get to the city and parking availability in the city is non-existent or very expensive.

The hotel is nice and clean, but is situated 3km from city centre in a rather bad neighbourhood. The rooms are in good standard, except for the bed which was hard as bricks and made it feel like you were sleeping on a bad camping bed!

Nice first stay 2nd on New Year's Eve in tiny room

First stay of 2 nights perfect for a couple - on return for New Year's Eve allocated a tiny single persons room which wasn't good for a couple but would be ok for a single person. Otherwise hotel was superb.

Nice hotel from far from town

Great service, only thing is that its far from the city centre. Thessaloniki being pretty cheap means that it's not expensive to travel via cab (or bus which stops right outside the hotel) to go to the city, but it'd be nice to be in the city centre. Did not realize that it was out of the way until we reached here.

Highly recommended, if not super central

A bit off the beaten path from central Thessaloniki, but the Porto Palace is a great hotel. Nice rooms, big beds, and a wonderful breakfast buffet that got me up and at 'em each morning. I was in town for a music conference all the way across town, but the taxis were just 5 euros each way and I looked forward to coming back home each eve to the Palace.

Nice but not nice enough for business traveller

This is a nice hotel, but really set up for conferences. If you are looking for a few nights on a business trip, I would suggest you look elsewhere. However, I stress that this is a nice hotel. I'm sure it does what it does very well. It just didn't do for a single traveler very well.

The stay was generally very good. Sat. TV was missing channels, no CNN/BBC News, only EuroNews. Wireless in room was outstanding, high speed and reliable. Slight amount of noise from the fans and traffic in the early morning. Excellent breakfast service. The neighbourhood is safe, however it is at the commercial point, excellent for business, not so convenient for the downtown, however shuttles and taxi are plentiful. Overall, 4 1/2 out of 5 stars and we will stay again.

A Business Person's Hotel

All in all, we wish we had chosen a hotel closer to the life of the city. There were no restaurants nearby, and the hotel's dinner service was slow and the menu very limited. The advertising was a bit misleading--no indoor pool, no gym, no shuttle service to the airport on Sundays.

Modern convenience for Business

Arrival was after 6PM, and staff was helpful and courteous at all times. Very nice cafe and lounge with late night service if you prefer. The room was nicely decorated,spotless and comfortable as well as having free hi speed wireless which was a pleasant surprise, and very fast. Water was hot and unending, as well as a spotless bath although a shower door or glass would help keep water off the floors. Convenient adjacent parking and shuttle. The neighborhood is industrial/port, so not a tourist spot, although the main square, restaurants and shopping is a very short taxi ride, with the airport about 20 minutes away.

Very modern hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. The hotel is not in walking distance to the center so we had to take a taxi every day. Good breakfast and a nice bar. The beds were very hard unfortunately, but the room was comfortable.

Great hotel, definitely the best at Thessaloniki, generosity, amazing modern structure with expensive materials, best bed I have ever seen anywhere. Amazing breakfast. One of the best hotels in Greece. I was extremely impressed with the service and people working there.The staff were amazing. I really do not say this lightly. Any staff member I met went out of his or her way to be super friendly, helpful and professional. We enjoyed it so much we cut short our seaside stay to come back for a night. One of the best places I have stayed. Loved it.

Very nice bedroom, but not particularly large and no balcony. Not the prettiest area of the city. No car parking problem.

With the exception of the orange juice (for some inexplicable reason), the standard of the breakfast buffet was absolutely excellent, with even a section for diabetics. Something really worth looking forward to.

I went for business, I reached to hotel at 11:30pm.
so couldn't see much surrounding or find out more.
but in morning when I woke up, I could see the natural beauty around.
good view from hotel. excellent Americal Buffee Breakfast, with pleanty of things to choose from.
it's a excellent hotel at so good prices, I had paid nearly triple at Radisson Blu in Norway for same level of comfort, style & service.
i will recomment this hotel to everyone.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND GO STAY IN THE HYATT!! DONT STAY HERE

The feedback details contained on Expedia about this hotel are NOT correct. This hotel is NOT in the city centre, that’s 10 mins away on the local bus. There ISNT a shuttle to city or shopping centre, the hotel people will direct you to the city bus!
Basically the hotel is situation in the run down port area of the city and is surrounded by night clubs. We stayed there on Saturday night and the hotel and surroundings are swamped by people wondering around who have just come out of 11am on Sunday, you can only imagine! It’s kind of scary, particularly if you have children.
The club noise rattles the window of the hotel, the room was extremely hot and we were told that the air con was coming on until May! We had to open the window and listen to the noise of the club – it finished at about 10am the day. The room was poorly cleaned and smelt of cigarettes as well!
We checked out early and went to stay at the Hyatt which was amazing. Don’t stay in this hotel; it would be a false economy to do so!

“Wish we had booked more than 1 night...”

The Porto Palace Hotel was amazing. We found out that the building was an old tennary (1913) which is a <Monument of contemporary architecture>. Really interested! The De Luxe Room was beautiful, and we loved the bathroom! Our package included a welcoming bottle of wine, slippers, robes, and breakfast. Breakfast was great, and they have lots of olives, a traditional sweet pie (bouyatsa) and feta cheese. So Mediterranean! We would stay here again, no question! We read a review about hard beds. We didn't think the beds were hard at all. Maybe it's because we'd been traveling for so long and were just that tired... but we found the bed just fine.
Getting around
Be sure you visit the Archaeological museum and if interested in Christianity, don’t miss the Byzantine Museum and the Old Palaiochristian UNESCO monuments and the Tomb of St. Dimitri.

Spacious room with all comforts and a welcome card with mineral water.
Smiling and courteous people. Very eager to give directions and information about the city.
The shuttle bus drove us to central sq. , 10 min. drive. Don’t miss the archaeological museum with the exhibits from Vergina (Macedonian king tombs . King Philippos father of Alexander the Great).

We loved Thessaloniki. Such a vibrant and vivid city! The Moudiano market is full of Balkan flavours and colours.
The accommodations and architecture of the building were great. The breakfast was full of local tastes and healthy Mediterranean food. Comparable to other 5 star hotels in Athens and Rome, with a lower price. Service outstanding, hope to return sometime.

The lap of service!

This is an opulent and beautiful hotel, considering the ultra low price I've paid per night. Overall, I would recommend it strongly for people who want their comforts and added values. The rooms are spacious and happy coloured. The bar area is lovely and great for getting together. The breakfast buffet was so reach of Greek tastes! Front desk staff and housekeeping were very helpful and courteous. The concierge service was uneven, they were very helpful in getting us info about the fantastic city's gastronomy. The hotel has a great, free Shuttle bus service to prime shopping areas. That's good, because it is not located near them.

An outstanding hotel that offers amenities and WiFi, internet for free. A real value. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the rooms spotless, there is a workout area, and the ambience is very inviting. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Although it is somewhat removed from the city center, public buses and taxis are easily accessible and it is quieter.

Dyrt hotell. Trots detta inga glas etc på rummet utan då skulle man ringa till roomservice för att erhålla dessa. Hotellet hade takterrass med pooler. Tyvärr var det någon form av knattefotbollscup så det var mängder med barn i 9-10 års åldern och badade. Utbudet från restaurangen var litet och märkligt och dyrt. Frukosten blev en katastrof med alla dessa fotbollslag. Hade varit tacksamt om man vid incheckningen hade vetat denna beläggningen på hotellet för då kunde man ju nyttjat roomservice istället.

Pulizie in camera solo se ti ricordi di chiederle in reception. Colazione buonissima e molto fornita, macchina caffè non professionale. Ristorate buono, poca scelta e un po' caro con i prezzi di Thessaloniki. Personale reception cortese e professionale.

Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal! Die Lage ist etwas abseits, aber durch den Shuttleservice (die Zeiten sind auch gut vorgegeben) ist das Stadtzentrum immer gut erreichbar.
Weiterhin bleibt das Frühstück bei uns in bester Erinnerung (vergleichsweise zu anderen Hotels im Stadtzentrum).

Εχω γυρισει ολη την Ευρωπη αλλα και αλλες χωρες εκτος αλλα εδω στην Ελλαδα δεν εχω καταλαβει ακομα πως δινουν 5 αστερια στα ξενοδοχεια.Το συγκεκρομενο για μενα μετα βιας φτανει τα 2 αστερια δεδομενου του γεγονοτος πως ηταν ανεκτα καθαρο.Τιποτα παραπανω.Ειμαι πολυ απογοητευμενος για την διαμονη μου στο εν λογω ξενοδοχειο.Φανταστειε πως το νερο το χρεωναν απο 4-5,5 ευρω

Hotellet vra underbart och servicen på topp. Det ligger lite i utkanten av staden, vid stora hamnen, men det hade ingen betydelse då hotellet har en egen chaufför som kör gästerna till och från stadskärnan gratis, de erbjuder även gratis taxi till en närliggande outlet mall. Poolen var underbar och frukosten hade det man önskade. Det enda negativa var att sängen var någorlunda hård. Annars var hotellet i toppklass.

Petit déjeuner correct mais de loin pas à la hauteur d'un 5 étoiles.
Navette gratuite vers le centre ville pratique ainsi que le parking.

Ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt, mit guten Möglichkeiten einzukaufen und im Hotel zu entspannen. Sehr gutes Frühstück, höflichen Personal.
