The Belmond Portofino is a luxurious hotel set atop the mountainside with a great view of the harbor. The hotel is well appointed and luxurious, the rooms a bit smaller than would be expected but the location and service can not be beat!

This hotel is truly amazing and the staff were great. The location is perfect. We were greeted at the main square in portofino and then a shuttle took us to our hotel and to our surprise we were given an upgraded beautiful room with a balcony served with nice fruit plate and chocolate. The live piano at night is also great.

We stayed 2 nights. Excellent location and a short walk to the main piazza in Portofino. The hotel was easy to find, check in and reception was friendly, professional and fast. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful sea view. The room was a little small but everything was impeccable. Breakfast, dinner was delicious The evening entertainment was great fun. We’d definitely stay again.

This lovely hotel is set up in the hillside overlooking Portifino harbour. Numerous sitting rooms, locations for eating, and great spa facilities, but for us having breakfast on the terrace of your own room, looking down over the gulf was the best part. If you prefer the buzz of activity and nightlife, they also operate the Splendido Mare hotel on the centre of the Portofino village. For us, the views from the main hotel were the place to be though, as they run a shuttle bus down into the village every 20 minutes whenever we wanted the nightlife.

Just like d name its splendido! We truly enjoyed our stay. We booked last min but got upgraded from a garden view to sea view room. The view was breathtaking n probably d best view of portofino. There were drinks n fruits to welcome us and the room is spacious n well decorated with all the luxuries one would need. Breakfast was delicious and we were spoilt for choice. Would recommend the egg Benedict as it was beautifully cooked.

Absolutely fabulous location, view fantastic , Staff top class, but comparing it with top Hotels we had stayed getting to there we felt the rooms were a little tired especially for the price paid.
Lets face it, it is a special place and they do do it well, but so do others in bigger rooms and better in room facilities like Coffee and tea facilities in the room.
Looking at it from a practical point of view one can't change the room size so what they have is what you get, and it is very, very good, from an ambience point of view.
Value for money you could argue, but its a case of Demand over supply, so pay up or don't go- it is Special.

We had to change our room after the first night as the bed was not long enough. The room we moved to was smaller but much nicer although the air conditioning was not as good.

Die Lage und der Service,einfach perfekt! Wir erhielten bei Ankunft ein Zimmerupgrade (Zimmer 471, mit Abstand das aller beste Zimmer, mit zusätzlicher Seitenterrasse!!) und konnten unseren Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen geniessen. Das Personal ist extrem bemüht und da läuft wirklich alles am Schnürchen. Wir werden ganz sicher wiederkommen!! Nochmals herzlichen Dank!

You pay for the legend
Going to Positano for the first time and not staying at the Splendido would have been like missing something. Was it worth the price ? Well if you accept that you partly pay to stay in a legendary place yes....otherwise no. This said the hotel is wonderful and service amazing. I regret that wifi did not work perfectly everywhere, especially in the pool area. Much more unbearable : too many noisy children in the pool with some parents even giving swimming lessons !!!! This really was a spoiler . How about making Splendido an adult only hotel or open another pool for kids ?

L'hôtel est un enchantement. La vue extraordinaire sur le port de Portofino, on prend plaisir à regarder le ballet des bateaux entrer au port. Le petit déjeuner est fantastique.
La piscine a débordement d'eau de mer chauffée est impressionnante.
Le port est à une petite dizaine de minutes à pied par un petit chemin très charmant (la remontée est plus difficile mais on prend son temps, ou il y a des navettes).
