I would give it 5 stars but took one off due to a need for updates in regard to room. The shower over tub was very difficult to climb in and out from, plus the room decor was basically nonexistent, nothing on the walls. Needs some updating. Otherwise the hotel staff was awesome and the breakfast was the best we had during our visit to 4 major cities in Austria and Germany. I would also say that the price here was higher than the other hotels we stayed at that all had better room conditions. A bit overpriced but I’m sure that’s because of the location and convenience in the heart of Vienna.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel in our recently vacation (October/2025).My wife is very picky . I have to say that she was very pleased with the beautiful hotel, the reception area has the Viennese charm and the bedroom had what we needed, a spotless bed to sleep. The bathroom was clean and roomy. The staff members were extremely friendly (Thank you guys!!!), helpful, and their English language skills were excellent. They were always ready to give us suggestions that really helped us to find great places to eat and shop. We really recommend this hotel if you want to be in the perfect location.

Perfect location, close to the action but being one block away made for a peaceful solution. I appreciate staying in authentic, non-chain places with windows that open. Front desk staff ladies were always so kind and welcoming. My favorite hotel of the three during my stay in Europe. Loved seeing the cathedral every morning. Didn’t realize the metro station was so close until 2 days in but that was great also. There were not a ton of photos their website so I was hoping the hotel would be ok and it was. I loved it, a hidden gem! Also only a 10 min walk from Wien Mitte train station which I took from Vienna airport.

The Domizil Hotel has a friendly staff and clean, quiet rooms. It is an easy walk to Saint Stephens Cathedral. St. Stephen’s is crowded, but the lines move quickly. Nearby are other churches that rival the interior of St. Stephen’s. Our favorite cafe is Cafe Diglas, and it’s only two blocks away. Excellent dinners including three types of schnitzel, Austrian goulash and more. Their strudels were wonderful.

Windows were wide so lots of sunlight available, and blackouts drapes darkened the room at night. The property was well located, opposite corner from the metro station, but very close to Stephenplatz, around the corner from Mozarthaus, St. Peter’s church etc. We really enjoyed staying at the hotel. Clean and comfortable room on the 4th floor. Included a sofa and desk and plenty of space. Large shower area with plenty of hot water and toiletries. Good choice of food items at breakfast. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from Stephanplatz and the Dom and the U-bahn. We found it very convenient. Would highly recommend.

Despite the horrible rainy, cold weather, we managed to enjoy our trip to Vienna thanks to the staff at Domizil. They accommodated us with umbrellas, directions, and yes even one’s own personal jacket to use for a short tour. The location is 5star in itself to getting to all the attractions. Don’t let the small, dated lobby fool you…the rooms are very spacious with vaulted ceilings and updated bathrooms it’s perfect.

It's hard to imagine a more central location in Vienna than Hotel Domizil. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was great. The room was very comfortable, and quiet. We had a view of the cathedral's spire from our window.

Can't get a better location for visiting Vienna Innere Stadt. Very friendly, helpful staff - front desk and cleaners. Adequate buffet breakfast - would have liked more fruit that was ripe enough to eat. Our room was quite adequate, but could do with a bit of maintenance (e.g. shower door), and basic stuff like somewhere to hang the hand towel. There was perfume in the hallways (probably to hide other smells) - may irritate those with a sensitive nose. All-in-all a bit basic for the price, but it is prime location and season. A/c handled the uncharacteristic heat, plus windows could be opened. No arm chair in room nor comfortable place to sit in common areas.

A bargain stay in Vienna
This small old charm hotel is Vienna. It is located next to St Stephan’s and has a great breakfast. We walked all over and the metro system is near. A really great bargain in this very expensive city. This hotel is next door to a lovely hotel but half the price I will stay here again

Really excellent location. Easily accessible from the airport via CAT and to the local subway system. Just a few steps from Stephansplatz. Can walk to 7 different Christmas markets within 30 minutes. There were hairs in my bed that weren't mine 2/3 of the nights after the room was made up. The shower receptacle was angled poorly so the bathroom flooded if the shower was on too long. Most of the staff were very nice, but one gentleman was fairly abrupt in his speech and made it feel as though we were a huge burden to him and he was thinly masking his veiled contempt...

Regarding the hotel, would have been nice if there was an area you could gather in the hotel outside of the dining area which was only used for breakfast.
