The room was very small and the bed was not a full queen size. The condition of the furniture and fittings was also jaded and worn The hotel itself was grand and had character. I suspect other rooms were of higher quality especially those in the annex. This large hotel does not have a reception of any kind and everything is managed through web / phone- this went wrong in my case and I spent 40 minutes trying to find out where my room was. The whole experience just should be much better.

My wife and I stayed at the guesthouse for the first time last weekend and found it adorable. Everything worked well. Loved the little extra touches the proprietor provides such as a small chocolate on each pillow. Lovely reading room. Especially impressed with the outdoor kitchen and its facilities. Quite unique.

Very happy with our brief stay...the room was very clean and had everything required. Personally would like a firmer mattress, but this was our only gripe. We didnt use the lounge or kitchen facilities but they did seem to cater for all needs. Wonderful location and easy walk to cafes and beach.

I’ve been staying at this property since I was a child, since just after the 1984 extension was added. I am amazed at how well maintained everything is given the age of the property. We were really impressed by how clean everything was, the contactless check in worked brilliantly, it was great having access to extras that could just be picked up in the hallway. I enjoy a lovely swim in the pool and we had much fun with the ping pong. I really love the indigenous planting that you are currently doing. A great, relaxed atmosphere in a brilliant location. We hope to return soon 😊

Well firs the advertising was $123 a night check my emails and they said charged in USA dollar's so it be came $196. Not happy with that could not cancel because i would have been charged $80. The room was small no hanging cupboards no split system only a fan or a heater the fridge was in a cupboard keep pumping my head to things out of fridge. The shower was small . So i wont be booking again throughout this site again and i let my friends not to stay. So i was not happy. J. Addicott

Was a great place to stay and super convenient to the golf course. Very quaint room but had every thing we needed. Pool was great but could do with a bit of a facelift. And bathroom lacked space for toiletries. Very easy check in and out and lovely little welcome gift, which is always appreciated. Would stay here again

Very easy self check in, lovely guesthouse, comfortable, quite & very clean. I’d definitely stay again & highly recommend, my main purpose for staying was I attended the Queenscliff Music Festival, I pre purchased my shuttle bus ticket on line which picked me up & dropped me off from door to door. Unfortunately didn’t spend a lot of time at the guesthouse or the area, hopefully next time.

Lovely hotel with retro additions

I loved the retro design. The only issue I had was I stayed 3 days but my wifi only lasted one day. I had to tether off my phone, which wasn't great reception. It was a great location and gave me a great run each day to the music festival I was volunteering at.

The property is in a good location. It's pretty dated though. We chose to stay there because we needed to stay somewhere for 1 x night. Most AirBnBs are 2 nights minimum on the weekend. It was fine. Just wouldn't normally choose this kind of property.

I liked the great range of facilities, from family suites to rooms with a bath, the pool, the tennis court, the ping pong table and the quality (although pricey) restaurant. Richard was very welcoming (via text) and great at informing of things to do and happening in the area, such as the local Sunday market. A very short walk to the vibrant local shops and the beach. My room was clean and charming. My only suggestion for improvement is to have a couple more coat hangers available. Overall, I can highly recommend the Point Lonsdale Guest House!

Great location, lovely service, easy to access but no ventilation in the bathroom, not a lot of fresh air in the room. The room was very very small. The bed was very uncomfortable and the walls were thin. I did love having access to the kitchen and I could see how the pool would be great in summer. Loved the fire pit but didn’t have be anything too light the fire…did love the marshmallows as an option to roast in the fire though. Mixed bag experience…

Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Close to walk to the shops, the lighthouse or the playground. On-site tennis court and pool plus well equiped guest kitchen facilities (shared). We enjoyed our stay, the guest house wasn’t modern but was perfect for a couple of nights away.

Only slight issue is noise. Loud doors and thin walls. Not always great when trying to sleep. Having said this, my kids had no problems falling asleep. And, the noise stopped well before midnight.

The only reason I would leave a bad review for this lovely guesthouse is because we are definitely going to book again. The clean, comfortable, simple family room was all we needed for a three night stay whilst driving in to the Celtic Festival. The continental breakfasts in the drawing room were a lovely opportunity to meet other guest. Short walk to the light house. SOrry we didnt get to book the restaurant!

The images portrayed on-line gave a very different picture to what was apparent. e.g---the lounge/sitting room had no lights on, no fire--in fact fire was 'out of order'---very disappointing. Certainly not the ambience that is seen on-line..

Dated, no air conditioning, cramped room and ensuite. Was meant to be a motel room, the room was was just one of many within a large building, hence the people leaving the building at 3.30 am could clearly be heard. The room and ensuite was clean, but cramped, dated and over priced. I wouldn't stay there again. The bed was clean which was my only highlight, my overall experience there was disappointing.

We had stayed at this place in 2014 when it was under different management. We had particularly enjoyed the pub atmosphere at Basil's Bar. Unfortunately Basil's is now a restaurant and we were disappointed that it was gone and we could not go in and have a drink and some conversation. Check in was very efficient and the place still has some of it's quaint charm. Amazingly we never met any of the staff as everything was done online. It's good value for the money but don't expect the Ritz Carlton.

Point Lonsdale Guest House is great value for money. Situated across a quiet stretch with very easy access to all amenities and the beach. The actual property has excellent facilities to cater for families, couples or anyone wanting to enjoy the ultimate relaxing beach getaway.

The location of the guest house being far enough away from the local shops perfect. For what's included in the price we paid I really couldn't ask for more. Huge kitchen for all guests to use, the heated pool with spa, around the clock towels for the pool and in room brilliant. The rooms we're so clean and we were left to have our holiday in peace. Our kids loved the pool and another bonus the tennis court which the kids loved.
The parking was free which is on site out the back.On the property ad on last minute there wasn't parking listed. It would help if parking was defined as available per room if available.

Have been returning to this property for years and still enjoy the experience, Richard is a great host and goes out of his way to make sure that his visitors have every comfort. The Beach House is within walking distance to shops , beach and lighthouse . For those without a car there is a bus stop right outside the door , you can enjoy a game of tennis or relax by the pool and spa

The house is old and full of character but is clean and well maintained.
I was very impressed with the services on offer - tea, coffee and milk is in plentiful supply, the laundry room is free and well appointed and the kitchen contains everything you need to be able to cook for yourself if you choose to do so. I would definitely stay again when back in the area.
