The pictures are deceiving, you are not on the beach. You need to take a shuttle which is every 30 minutes. You can walk but if you have a bum knee it’s too much. Beach closes at 5pm and then no access. There is a show every night, it’s ok. The food was different yet the same. You need to dress up for the one specialty reataurant, and can only go once. For actual and not snacks you have no choice but to go to the beach club otherwise it’s hotdog, hamburger French fries chicken nuggets. The staff was great, it’s very clean but a bummer to have limited beach access and to have to eat and the other part of hotel that is on the beach. If you want to book tours do it with the local guy paradisio and not with nexus. They don’t give you all the information and one took cost an extra $1000 pesos when we already paid $120 CAD for the tour. It’s a quiet hotel, all lights are off by midnight. It’s great to rest or if you have small children but we were disappointed by the beach and the 7bay tours and the Pochutla market, not worth it.

The shower was terrible, your choice was very hot water or cold and no adjustability. Although they claim to have several TV channels, we either got one or 2 channels or none. Internet was also poor in the room. The patio doors do not close properly so the rooms were extremely loud of you were street side. Food was average and you can only book the one restaurant once a week. Check out is noon and if your flight leaves in the afternoon, the resort will not provide you with food or drinks after noon and you cannot even buy food.

This was our first time to Huatulco, and although Binniguenda disappointed us the day we arrived, it slowly grew on us to the point that we will go back.
I will start with the PRO’S:
- excellent location: 5 minutes walk to the beach, market, marina and the center of Santa Cruz
- the tiered gardens that back a national park are amazing! The sound of tropical birds is simply unforgettable!
- you have access to Niru’s beach facilities, which is the new and nice hotel owned by the same company
- staff is really nice
- clean and comfortable bed
- food is decent and diverse
- if you get the Select room, you will have a fresh coffee pitcher and warm pastries on your balcony each morning, and a daily stuffed fridge with beverages, nuts and desert.
- great value for the money
The CONS:
- rooms are outdated
- we could smell the sewer. Our bathroom had 2 rubber covers for the drains, and the room came with an air purifier, but the filter looked really dirty, so not sure how much it helped. I was coughing each time we were in the room…
We did asked for another room the day we arrived, but between the two resorts, they were fully booked.
All and all, this is an excellent place to spend your vacation, but i had to remove one star because of the smell. Hopefully the management can fix this issue in the future?

1st room faced the noisy street was told if you didnt want a room facing the noisy street you must request that. I didnt know that so didnt request not to be on the street. They moved us to a quieter room which was ok. The beach club is a walk or shuttle away. Not many chairs had to rent an umbrella from the restaurant next door. Also didnt realize it was all inclusive would never do that, food was terrible at the buffet.

This resort had everything everyone would want!

If you’re looking for a nice little resort, that’s set back away from the hustle and the bustle of the major tourist traps. This is the right place.

The food was really good and was based off the Mexican pallet

You have access to many bars on site

The beach is all about two blocks away from the main part of the resort it’s located at their sister resort and he is absolutely amazing!

If you’re looking to swim with the fish and be safe and have access to a pool and bar and restaurant, this is the place for you

This resort is located near the main markets so if you’re looking to get your little keepsakes and what not you’re in luck!

Super safe area with lots to do!

Word of advice if you’re gonna come here, you’re gonna need to know Spanish because 90% of the people don’t speak English!

This is an amazing place if you’re looking for something quiet or maybe you coming here with a small family!

I was shocked when I watched housekeeping wipe the inside of our drinking glasses with the same cloth she used to wipe the bathroom counter and desk with. That is not sanitary. Needless to say, we washed our drinking glasses ourselves after that.
Also, most mornings, the caraf the coffee arrived in was splotched with splashes and the handle was sticky and grimmy….not exactly appealing.

Staff in general were lovely and helpful. Better English would be helpful.

Rooms were regularly and meticulously cleaned. All the staff, from cleaning to front desk to food service were helpful and polite. English is spoken at the front desk quite well. The rest of the staff will always try to speak English with varying levels of success.
If you choose to stay here book all your activities through Oscar Garcia! He was delightful to work with, and personally helped us out of a tight spot. He is often cheaper than booking online.

Lunch was at the beach club and was excellent

Dinner was not good,,, many folks just go out to restaurants. No flavour, they could improve by having one fish dish, one chicken, one pork, only, but do the dishes well instead of two of each re heated from the night before.

We booked through Expedia and unfortunately the photos used to promote this hotel are not the reality - we paid premium because we thought we were beachfront but the photos are actually a sister hotel that you need to bus to to access the beach club (the beach club was amazing - fab view and pool and bar, but a big difference between being allowed to visit and actually staying somewhere). The staff were all lovely, and the room was actually nicer than the photos- but I also have to say our room was on a very busy road and extremely noisy. On top of this there was a dispute that they wanted a very large additional daily fee for our children (who didn’t even have their own beds,but a sofa bed.) we had booked for two adults and two children and I am 100% sure I put in the correct ages of our children in the booking but they claim they came though as two one year olds…after an awkward interaction they agreed to charge us a discount but it was still a lot to stomach having to pay more on what we felt was an overpriced and disappointing experience. We were overall disappointed to have splashed out on our most expensive hotel on our Mexico family holiday and leave feeling pretty gutted.

The beach club is only some area with sun umbrellas and lounges for hotel residents right on the public beach! If you only need pool, not the ocean, this is not a bad place.

Our room was always spotless. The staff are great but the only issue we had was on last day. We’ve been travelling for many years and stayed at a lot of different all inclusive places and the day of checking out we were always able to continue to order drinks and food until we left the hotel, not here. We arrived late on our first day so that day we didn’t have food and drinks at the hotel and was deprived of the services after checking out even though we weren’t leaving the hotel until 4:00 pm. The cost for a hot dog and fries was $15 US.

Cons:
You have to either take a shuttle or walk to the beach (5-7 min walk) through town. The beach club is okay, not that many lounge chairs though and the sand was covered in ants every day. The beach is also public so there are lots of people around making it hard to relax.

The food and drinks were average. The meat was always way over cooked and there was not much variety. The drinks were pretty watered down.

Pros:
The best part of our hotel stay was the very friendly staff and the hotel grounds was clean and easy to get around. It’s not far from town and the cab ride to and from is not expensive at all. We ended up eating out at restaurants a few times due to the not so great food offered at the resort.

We booked this hotel when they were offering a deal, I would not pay full price.

Our stay at Binniguenda was pleasant overall, though check-in policies are very strict. Because of an early flight, we arrived before check in time, which we were aware of. We weren’t allowed to use amenities until after noon or access our room until 3pm, the initial contact receptionist was very rude about it. Another receptionist, more willing to help, offered an early check-in for 1,200 pesos. The hotel is older but clean, with comfortable beds and good AC. Alcoholic drinks were definitely watered down, but the food at Palapa Chahué was delicious, cleanly prepared, and offered good variety. Service there was excellent, especially from Noemi and Armando. At the bar, Axcel, Lorenso, and Angelico also provided friendly, attentive service. The beach club Niru was also very pleasant. The pool area is great and there are plenty of beach chairs, easily accessible, and the food at Xhadani was good.

They made us think by the pictures that the hotel was by the ocean which it wasn’t, we had to take a transport to go to another hotel and go to the beach which it wasn’t ideal, also for dinner one time the requirement was to be formal which I totally understand not being with wet clothes and barefoot , but they were requiring HEELS for women and tell me.. do you take to your beach vacation some heels? Because none of my family had heels and they didn’t let us have dinner at that restaurant.

We loved that we could visit the pool and beach next at their sister hotel Niru! 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a warm, laid back and family atmosphere. Just bring lots of bug repellent because the mosquitos are very much out to get you!
PS we highly recommend the 7 bahias tour, the Cascadas (waterfall) tour, and definitely check out playa la Entrega! It’s very close to the hotel, about a 15 minute drive in a taxi.

This is by far one of the worst properties I have stayed at. If you want to take a trip back in time this hotel is for you. There have been no updates made to this hotel since the 1980s. The food at this hotel is inedible, some of the worst I’ve had. The property also did not state the pool was out of service. Please do not be fooled by the pictures provided to Expedia by hotel. The beach club is nowhere near the hotel. For the price we paid definitely not worth it. The only positive were the public beaches, where we were able to obtain good food at local eateries.

Shower and curtain made ALL the water come out, leaving a soaking wet, dangerous bathroom floor. Food was just ok. There's a party bus that comes by every night every hour, make sure to request a room that doesn't face the front of the property or you won't get any rest.

Our family had a wonderful experience at the resort!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The walk to the beach club is very short and it was a great mix of ocean, beach club, and hotel pool/bar for bathing!! I am hopeful to stay with Binniguenda again in the future!!!
