The staff is amazing. Breakfast is one of the best I ever had staying at hostels, location is perfect for delicious food, sightseeing, massages & just walking around enjoying the beautiful city. The owner went above and beyond helping me to find a pharmacy and then even assisted putting drops of medicine in my ear. Going back in May and definitely staying here

The rooms have everythimg you need for a short or a long stay. Everything is spotless clean, they have thought of absolutely everything. The private room we stayed in was quiet. The location is great if you want to be in the city centre. Breakfast options are good. I would 100% recommend and come back.

The whole building feels neglected. There were no basic amenities in the toilet - handwash, soap, shampoo etc.
Had a difficult time carrying our luggages up and down - as there was no elevator/lift. The bedcurtains were very itchy cos it’s very obvious that it hasnt been washed in a very long time. The WIFI in the room was extremely weak, it even comes on and off. The Staff was pleasant except for the Lady Owner whose kinda rude and not very helpful at all. There’s a very foul smell emanating from the wet market across the building. Breakfast wasn’t provided at all.

YOU ARE BETTER OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE. DO NIT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

We stayed four nights at Long Hostel in a private room. It was very good value for money however the bed was very uncomfortable (needs a new mattress and a bigger duvet/sheet).

The shower also stopped working on the last day. We can’t complain too much as the breakfast was great, freshly cooked and it was such good value. Great location too!

I love this hostel. I had a private room, which was absolutely excellent. I kept extending my stay. Originally, I was only going to stay two days and ended up staying nine!

They served the best breakfast included I have ever had. Try the banana pancakes, they were super good. And the eggs. And the fruit and vegetables.

Great value accommodation. Close to the action of Bui Vien street, plenty of restaurants and stalls near by and about 25-30 mins to the museums. Also very close to the main bus station so getting to and from the airport is very easy.
The accommodation itself is well managed, clean and quiet. Breakfast is included!
And a special note on the lady who runs the place. She is an absolute sweetheart. She accommodated me when i extended my stay, and then when I had to cut is short 😅. Also helped me print my documents for forward travel.
I'd stay here again!

Very clean and quiet. It’s walking distance to a lot of popular sites and shopping. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I am so glad they let us walk in with our shoes and we can walk with slippers inside the hostel! I just wish I had a room with windows and a bedside lamp bright enoughfor reading before bed.

Long Hostel is on a street where there are many other hostels. Many travellers I met at the hostel who had been travelling around Vietnam, all said that this hostel so far has been the nicest. That says something about this hostel.

Free breakfast provided from 7-10am with good food and drink options. Water fountain to fill your water bottles is available for all guests. Tours can be booked at reception very easily, with pick ups. Rooms were clean with large lockers for the backpacks to be stowed away, but unfortunately there are no curtains around each bed, no shelf for each bed to place their key items or a small light. These are not essential but it would be helpful. The room has a large fridge to keep drinks cold. The bathroom was small and it seems the norm that the shower is not divided from the toilet. So everything unfortunately gets wet. But they do provide sandals in the rooms for you to wear around the room and in bathroom. Sachets of shower gels were also provided.

The hostel is located 2 mins from the food walking street and about 40 mins from the War Remnants Museum and City Hall.

I would recommend this hostel where you can meet lots of people over the breakfast table. The staff all greet you with a smile and are helpful with any queries you may have. On leaving they kindly even booked a cab via the grab app for me, so I could get to the airport.

Long Hostel has an excellent location close to walkable sites. The staff are amazing and accommodating ... and lovely. The room is a little dated, but very clean. Some might find the bed a bit hard, but better than a soft bed I say! The free breakfast and drink is delicious and they also provide water and bananas. Incredible value for your money. Kindly tip the staff. They work so hard.

This was such a great hostel! Walk though a market to a cute alley with multiple hostels. I felt very safe at all times and it was easy to get around from here. Everyone that worked here was so incredibly nice and friendly! If I’m back in HCMC, I’d stay here again. Breakfast was great as well and there’s lots of food and coffee options that are a walkable distance away as well.

Best Hostel In Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City

One if the nicest places we've been staying, the rooms were a lot prettier than the pictures -great start!
The service was formidable and all of the staff were so nice to us from start to end we even got to go on a roof top that wasn't really meant to be used!
Great breakfeast selection, happy hour and location right in the heart of district 1!
Because of the price we didn't expect too much but were blown away by how accommodating and nice the staff, people and atmosphere was at Long Hostel!
If you ever visit Ho Chi Minh City you should stay here!

Fantastic manager and support staff, great location, close to everything you need to see. Other travelers seek this hostel out based on reputation so it seems the diversity is strong. We even met teachers with permanent jobs who choose to stay here for long term accommodation because it’s just that good. Even the breakfast is great. Try the banana pancake!

A perfect choice for budget travelers

It is a quiet place to stay despite the central location and it being a hostel. No noises at night. The room and bathroom were in good condition and clean. The breakfast was lovely. You can choose to have an egg dish or pancake that are freshly made for you and a juice or coffee. They can help you booking tours. We booked the Cu Chi tunnels and a full day Mekong delta trip. Both were great.
We were very happy with this stay.

Great first hostel experience

We only stayed one night at the Long Hostel, but would have loved to stay longer. This was our first time staying at a hostel and we are very satisfied with our stay. First of all, our bus arrived too early in Ho Chi Minh City (4.30 am), but fortunately the hostel was open and not only did they let us store our luggage, but we also got to spend the rest of the early morning sleeping on the couch and armchair in the living room, very much appreciated! We also booked a tour to Cu Chi tunnels via the hostel and are very happy with our visit. Also, the free beers they give you every day is definitely a plus! We stayed in a small private room which was clean and comfortable and great for our stay here. All in all, we are very happy with our short stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for good (and cheap!) accomodation in Ho Chi Minh City.

I've stayed in dozens of hostels around the world, but this one underwhelmed me. The single room I stayed in was shabby (peeling wallpaper / moldy bathroom), and the blanket I received was stained (they did give me a new one when I asked). Its location was fine - 20 to 30 minutes to a number of key sites. That said the included breakfast was great (loved the banana pancakes!) and the front desk staff were very helpful in reserving a car pickup at the airport / calling a Grab car to the airport. I can't speak to the dorm rooms, but for the single room, I assume there are better options out there for a similar price.

Very easy check in! When they gave me the key, they said it was happy hour. Two free beers for everyone staying there. I found the room to be clean and the bed and pillow very comfortable. I had organised to be picked up from the airport and gave them my flight details. The flight was late so when came out no-one was there and had to find a cab in the middle of the night. They had the flight details so could check when it arrived - but didn't.

They then charged me for the service anyway - so not impressed.

Communication with the hotel was slow and could wait days for a response.

This hostel was great for 2 nights, the staff were amazing and helped me book on a great tour, we got picked up from the door. I got an Uber from the airport but the driver struggled to find it. Comfy bed, air con very welcome. All in all a great stay.

Pretty flawless as far as hostels go

Finding it wasn't easy but I should have asked someone. In the end, it made sense where it was, an alleyway littered with other hostels.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and can organise tours easily if you need. Beer and water are cheap in the fridge, no price gouging to be seen. You also are offered two free beers each night plus breakfast rolls, pancake, fresh fruit and coffees are included at breakfast.

Location is good as it's close to the tourist part of HCMH without copping a lot of the noise and there are some amazing food carts just around the corner, plus a market pretty much right outside if you want extra fruit, etc.

The room has sufficient AC and the beds are comfy for a hostel. Free towel as well. Plus the other people staying there were awesome. Only shared bathrooms on each floor but they were kept relatively clean.

If you want privacy and hotel-style accommodation... Why are you reading this? If you're after a hostel though, I can't imagine any better in the area.

We had a great time at Long Hostel. We had a private double room. The bed was comfy, the room was a nice size and quite modern, and we had a private bathroom. This hostel was very sociable as well. They offer 2 free beers at happy hour between 7 and 9 which is a great way to meet new people and if you want to buy extra they are really cheap. The wifi was excellent in the room and common areas. The breakfast was also really good here. There were a variety of options including eggs, omelette and pancakes and it was nice to get a free iced coffee every morning. There are laundry facilities and a small kitchen area too. The hostel was close to everything within the city including the war museum and independence Palace, you can easily walk to all the main attractions. There are also a lot of restaurants and bars close by. The staff were friendly and helped me find a place to get a new suitcase. It can be a bit noisy at times in the common areas but this didn't bother us at all. All in all I would definitely recommend this hostel.

A family run hostel. We Stayed for 3 nights and would definitely recommend it. The welcome was excellent, we were given water on arrival and allowed to go to our double room with shower early. It had air conditioning, fresh towels daily, a fridge and was cleaned everyday.
A choice of Breakfast was cooked fresh and 2 bottles of beer free for happy hour. Fruit was available ever morning which was regularly topped up. The family Long took pride in their home and welcomed you to share it. They couldn't do enough for you.
A good location to walk to the city sights.

Perfect Hostel in Ho Chi Minh

It was an unfogotable expedience to stay in long hostel. It was my first time in a hostel and I think it is the best option in ho chi minh city if anyone wish to stay in hostel. Unfortunately, even though I booked with this hostel 6 months in advance and received an email from the hostel directly that my room was confirmed, when I got there I was informed 'we don't have a room for you' and was put in another hostel for two of my four nights in Saigon. The other hostel was super quiet and dirty. I did not enjoy my stay there. Once I was moved back to Long Hostel they tried to tell me they were putting me in a dorm when I had already paid for a private room. Once I let them know that was not happening, they found a private room for me. The two free beers are a good social interaction and the breakfast is good.

We stayed at Long Hostel for 4 nights in a private room. We had our own bathroom/shower. Breakfast was included and the breakfast was very good. Banana pancakes and/or eggs, omelets. Hot or cold coffee. The staff is very helpful (and busy). And yes, they have happy hour from 7-9pm where you get two free beers. Pretty much the reason I booked this hostel :-) Met a lot of nice travelers from all over the world. Location is great, too. And only 30 minutes to the airport.

We're an older couple but have stayed at Longs before so returned. They offer free beer in the evenings so the younger people seem to stay in at night ,although sounds carry up to the rooms we just put in our earplugs and didn't hear much. And it seemed by midnight everyone was quiet.
The staff and Mrs. Long daughter , Cam are very helpful. We didn't have a table in our room when we arrived but when we said something they brought one in.

It's a good hostel with Friendly Hosts

It was a pleasant start to my journey in Ho Chi Minh. Ask the staff anything and they will do their best to help you. The breakfast is amazing. They have an amazing deal for laundry service, and you can buy drinks for roughly the same as Circle K if you don't feel like walking. Just one block off the main backpacker drag, so quiet enough to get some sleep. Not a party hostel which I enjoyed. Great value

Great value hostel. Clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included is delicious with at least 2 choices of food and coffee , plus free refill. This Guest House is victim of its own popularity: the lobby area is too small to accommodate everyone when - most of the time - it is fully booked.Of course , everyone enjoys the 2 free beers every evening.

Wonderful Hostel with Great Service!

This hostel is absolutely wonderful. I stayed here 3 nights as a solo female traveller in the 6 bed dorm. Cooked-to-order breakfast is served every morning from 7-10a (the banana pancakes are amazing!) There is also a social hour each night from 7-9p where you get 2 free beers. The staff is lovely and kind. If you are looking to save some $$ you can take the bus from the airport to the last bus stop which happens to be right across the street from the hostel. It's very convenient and only costs 90 cents each way! You can take it to the airport as well - it's the yellow bus #109. The hostel provides info on this as well as taxis when you book with them. I had a great time at Long Hostel and definitely will book with them again!

Very good stay

The staff is amazingly helpful and welcoming. Very good breakfast. Very clean overall. The location is perfect for doing the touristy things. Free beers in the evening which make for extremely easy and popular socializing. A few steps from the bus to the airport. Would surely come back.

Perfect location & great people!

We were only staying in HCMC for one night but wanted to be in close distance of everything. We were about a 10 min walk from ben thahn market which was great!! The people who work there are also amazing. Tons of young people to meet

Good location, helpful staff, nice tours

I enjoyed my stay here. My only complaint is that there was someone's old underwear hanging from my bed rail (likely cleaning staff thought it belonged to the upper bunk. It didn't), the heat didn't really work for the water in my shower so you must be ok with ice showers.

The staff was incredible - i made the biggest mistake a traveller can make and forgot my passport in my locker there. The staff kept it safe for me for 2 days until I could get back. There was a credit card and some cash left too and everything was accounted for.

Clean and comfortable rooms, which was extremely important to us... helpful staff..hostel was within walking distance to most sites..2 free beers from 7-9pm which helped with meeting other travellers...not a party hostel and you see more of a mature crowd
