We only stayed for one night, but the Rossio Plaza Hotel was excellent! It was clean and modern. The room size was generous (by European standards lol). Staff were very friendly and made some great activity suggestions. Also, the location was excellent - close to many city highlights.

The only negative is that there was some street noise at night (nothing crazy, just might be a consideration if you are a light sleeper or have kids). As well, this may have been a one-off due to the World Cup viewing parties.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would book again the next time we are in Lisboa.

PS. Be sure to check out Castro (next door to the hotel) or Confeitaria Nacional (around the corner) for amazing pastel de natas!

We loved this hotel! Great location, easy check in and wonderful staff. We got there early and were able to store our bags and they even brought them to our room once it was ready (without our asking).
The room itself was extremely clean enough space for two and the shower was ultra modern.
A really nice hotel and a great price. I wish I could find this combination in all the cities I visit

It's a few minutes walk to Rua Augusta and Praca do Comercio, as well as to numerous food spots. Also love the convenience to shopping areas like ZARA, Bershka and to the tram stops.

Hotel Rossio Plaza is a PERFECT location in Lisbon, right in the heart of the main square, steps to the subway and train stations. The hotel was super clean, comfy and safe. The staff went above and beyond, our room was ready when we got there, and we had a great view of the courtyard. This hotel was amazing, i will stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Hotel is ideal for what it is: fantastic location, clean modern rooms. For that I would give it six stars! The staff is great and absolutely everything we wanted to see was a short walk from our room. We loved that.

Only things to note is that the hotel doesn’t have a pool, gym, or other common areas. If those are important to you, this hotel won’t work. But if you want a great room in a great location in Lisbon, this is it!

Amazing location in Rossio - close to the metro and bus (eg to Belem), train station (eg to Sintra) and 5-20mins walk to all the major districts/attractions (Chiado, Bairro Alto, Alfama, Timeout Market). Many great restaurants nearby, including less touristy choices. Excellent property if you are looking for a clean and convenient place to stay with all necessary amenities and very helpful staff, all at a great price. On my day of departure, Portugal had a general transport strike and the staff helpfully arranged private airport transfer from the hotel for €35. As a minor comment, while all necessary amenities were provided, it would have been more helpful to have a kettle instead of a coffee machine.

This is a small, boutique hotel. The hallways are narrow. The room and bathroom was roomy enough for two people. It was very clean. The people at the front desk were nice and helpful. The breakfast was in a small crowded room on the first floor. Two people could not select breakfast items at the same time. The breakfast was adequate, not over the top, but enough to get you started in the morning.

My one big problem is that while the rooms have good air conditioning, they choose to turn it off at night. I was very uncomfortable and they act like they don’t know anything about it. It is deceitful and I don’t like that.

Our view was excellent. We were in the annex and you have to walk up a steep flight of stairs to get to the elevator. The room is pretty tiny and there really aren’t places in the hotel to go and sit.

If you like like staying in an attic you will love this property. Paid an outrageous amount of money to stay in a hot small attic...lovely. Then when you walk into the building your nasal senses are inundated by a cover up smell that is overwhelming...later you realize that the sewage smell just cannot be replaced. My wife and I could NOT walk around the bed at the same time, because we would not fit....I weigh 160lbs. The AC did NOT cool the room adequately.

Hotel location was excellent; right in the center & very close to the interesting attractions & within walking distance to restaurants, shops, metro, trams... The hotel & room was a little on the small scale in view of the space restriction but this did not detract from the positive aspects. Great service & assistance from Tomas & Ghislaine; kudos for their attentiveness & patience. It’s great that breakfast was provided, the availability of fruits were much appreciated. Unfortunately we forgot our international travel electric adapter when we left. I would definitely recommend the place.

Some of the staff were very helpful, however, others were not overly friendly (which may have resulted from not everyone speaking very much English). The room was very small, ok for a short stay, however, our window looked out on a wall, not really accessible for even looking out of or getting daylight from. There really weren’t any amenities - the refrigerator was only a small mini bar with drinks for sale. We were “given” one bottle of water and coffee packets for one day free of charge, we stayed 15 nights which seems pretty chintzy. The location was great and the facility was clean, however, we would likely have chosen somewhere different for a long stay.

Blown away by the friendliness of the staff. Offered us a Portuguese custard tart and a glass of wine at checkin. No other hotel in 50+ years has done that for me. And as a returning guest we got a special surprise too. You’ll have to find out for yourself. Only suggestion is post instructions for using the coffee machine. Overall the hotel is average. Rooms are small and we could not walk around our room without ducking on the 4th floor due to the walls sloping inward. Additionally, the cable tv barely worked and the tv would go in and out. When you walk into the building we stayed in, you have to take a stairway up to the first floor to get on an elevator. There was a funky smell to the building. A little like sewage or a dead animal, we aren’t sure.
The positives were that the room and bathroom were updated and clean. Location is decent.

We had a great stay at Rossio Plaza Hotel. The hotel is nice, compact, very clean, and the location is absolutely unbeatable — right in the heart of Lisbon and perfect for exploring the city on foot. Just be prepared for European-style smaller spaces and rooms. Amenities-wise it’s very basic, but that wasn’t a problem for us since we were out and about most of the day anyway. It’s probably not the best option for families with kids, but it’s perfect for solo travelers or couples. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a comfortable and very central place to stay

A few steps to the left of the hotel was the famous elevator, a few steps to the right of the hotel, was Rossio square with lots of little huts with music, drinks, food and crafts to purchase, and the location was close and within walking distance to the hop on hop off buses. Both red grey line and yellow buses!

We so enjoyed our stay, central to all main sights in Lisbon, tram, and train station to Belem, and Cascais-no need for an Uber, if you don’t mind the steep hills. Thank you for the staff who kept the hotel and our room so meticulously clean. Breakfast was a plus to start our days in beautiful Lisbon. When we arrived early our room was available so we could get freshened up and settled before starting our day - a huge plus! Our room was quite small, but that is what we chose and there are other sizes available. Very nice bathroom. Everything is updated and clean so we didn’t mind.

Amazing location and comfy bed, plus great heating / cooling system in the room.

The lobby and stairwells had a bad smell. The rooms on the 4th floor of the second building have extremely slanted roof, which made it very difficult to get around the room and spend time in. My partner (he is 6 feet tall) even bonked his head a couple times and I nearly did as well (I'm 5'5), which isn't great. I imagine rooms on the lower flows don't have such a slanted roof, so may be better? We only stayed for one night, so overall it was fine but would not recommend the rooms on the 4th floor.

In my opinion, these rooms should be further discounted given the how low the roof is and how much of an inconvenience / slightly dangerous it can be.

We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The staff were always friendly and happy to answer questions. The lobby and room were clean. We had an issue where every time we showered, there would be a large pool of water forming on the floor presumably from water leaking through the glass shower door. This wasn’t a huge concern, as it could be wiped and not return until the shower was used again. However, the main downside to the hotel was the lack of sound insulation. We could hear doors closing, toilets flushing, and voices traveling through our room from early morning to night.

The stay was generally straightforward, with a few positives and some service and comfort issues.

The hotel is centrally located and convenient for getting around. It is also easily accessible by public transportation from the airport; had this been clearer in advance, we likely would not have reserved the hotel shuttle.

We arranged an airport shuttle through the front desk in advance and received confirmation. However, there was no indication that we needed to proactively contact the driver upon arrival. Our flight arrived early, and it appears the driver adjusted pickup timing based on external flight information rather than the itinerary we provided. Due to extended time in customs, we were delayed exiting the airport. By the time we reached the pickup area, the driver had already left and declined to return. The front desk noted the shuttle is operated by a third-party provider and that we were still responsible for the charge. While the front desk staff indicated they were “caught in the middle,” the interaction focused on justifying why the driver still needed to be paid rather than addressing the situation from a customer perspective.

Additionally, we requested coffee pods for the in-room machine, but they were never delivered.

One comfort issue was the street light directly outside the window, which allowed significant light into the room at night. The blackout drapes didn't fully block the light at the edges, making it difficult to sleep without an eye mask.

The room is clean and nice. Ours is on the fourth floor facing the santa justa elevator...very nice. The hotel is located at a convenient place with easy access to Rossio and Baixa-Chiado metro stations as well as Rossio train station. There are so many nice restaurants and shops in the vicinity. Re. facilities, there was no kettle in the room so we asked for one so that we could make tea ourselves. There were 4 coffee pods provided for the entire stay as they were not replenished after consumption. The same applied to the bottle water. The hotel could well be more generated on these fronts. Members of staff at the reception were polite and helpful. Shame that the lobby of the hotel is so small. Did not have breakfast in the hotel and so could not comment on this.

This hotel is very centrally located, no shortage of good restaurants and amenities nearby. My room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and staff are friendly overall. However, the hotel is incredibly loud and I didn’t get a restful night’s sleep once. My room was located on the first floor of the main wing near the stairs. While the renovations look great, there is little soundproofing from the stairwell or between rooms. I could hear showers/faucets being turned on next door or above me, toilets flushing, people talking, and any footsteps in the stairs or hallway felt like they were thundering through my room at all hours. The breakfast room located steps away from my room meant that kitchen noise would wake me up early in the morning (7am). When I requested a room change, I was told other options would have the same noise level or located in the hotel’s separate wing without front desk staff or an elevator. The breakfast was average, but convenient to have on site. Overall, I would not stay here again.
