Location perfect for access to our event at the Blue Mountains Theatre - easy walk, five minutes. Coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and assorted specialty shops nearby. Train station across the road. Good food and live music downstairs in the pub.

A typical country pub - great as a stopover rather than a holiday. A little noisy, including the train station almost opposite, but closing the window helps. Not suitable if you struggle with stairs. Wonderful cafes right next door.

Our family room was essentially a room with a double bed and a creaky bunk for the kids in a small room with a tiny en-suite. The rooms haven’t been updated since the 80’s and there was a heavily soiled mattress stored under the bunks. The furniture in the shared area was dated and damaged, the room smelt strongly of ciggies as our family room was above the local pub smoking/outdoor drinking area so not a lot of sleep was had on the weekend. Linen was clean. We booked because this was the cheapest stay in the region and it showed - I won’t make that mistake again!! A plus was that it was close to shops as rooms accessed the Main Street of the town.

NICE but over priced

Well overall it was an ok stay. Very hot night and day, with no relief in the room. This one slipped by me, for the price, nit worth it, not a bad room, but no air conditioner was an absolute decider for me, i don't recommend in summer at all!

There isn’t any air conditioning and the ceiling fan squeaks. The shower rose and the basin tap both leaked and couldn’t be turned off sufficiently to stop it from leaking .

The property was easy to find and close to train station. We stayed there in the weekend. It was situated on top of the royal hotel and bar. You can hear the sound of the bar from your room. It was noisy till 1 AM in the morning. Other than that, the staffs were nice. Room was very clean. We enjoyed our stay.

I live on the North Coast and I previously lived at Kingswood for 31.5 years until the end of 2019.I come back from time to time to visit my friends.I've stayed at other hotels around penrith but The Royal Hotel in Springwood is the best one that I've stayed at.This hotel is well built and has been well maintained.My room was very comfortable and the room layout was excellent as well which I think is better than some other more modern hotels that I've previously in.The quick and easy access at the front of the hotel is excellent for when you want to go to the shops.Penrith is only 15 minutes drive away and there is easy access to the highway.The booking was very simple and straight foreward.I will definately be staying at The Royal Hotel from now on.I'm considering moving back to Penrith.Thankyou for a wonderful stay.Greg Wyndham.

I think morw attention to detail with cleaning would have been better.

The Staff in all areas from Bar, Dining, Housekeeping, etc were all very friendly and helpful. Even carried our luggage up the stairs to our room. Better service than many places with higher star ratings. Definitely will stay there again.

Great value, nice hotel with lots of facilities near-by. Secure parking with access to accommodation and the street without going through hotel. Quiet for pub style acc. with little noise from pub, street or train line. Great food at reasonable prices. Room was cozy with opening windows, heater, fan, extra blankets, TV, wardrobe, tea/coffee kettle and ensuite bathroom. Comfy bed however may be short if your 6' plus.

We've travelled a bit in the last 20 years, Russia, China, Korea, Japan, Morocco, for example. We travel cheap and very rarely pay more than $100 a night for accommodation, even in Australia. The Royal is more than $100, and we thought it was amongst the 4 worst places we've ever stayed. The fridge was filthy, the walls had mould, the mattress was old and cheap. Staff had to come in to turn the ceiling fan off by sticking a fork in the switch and turning it. The staff, all young women, were helpful but the place is a rip off dump.

The room was hot and the window was open when I arrived on a 38 degree day which made it unbearable to stay in. I closed the window and went downstairs for a refreshing ale.
After a while I went back up and closed the window and put the fan on (as I knew there was no air conditioning. There was no fridge in the room so couldn’t have a cool drink. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

The accomodation is above the pub and very old and dated. Bathroom very tired with peeling vanity and rusty bath. Doors looked like they had been broken into a few times. TV reception didnt work when it appeared a few extra people checked in, couldnt cope with all the drain! Right opposite the railway line so quite a few freight trains woke us through the night, but ultimate warm and comfortable for 1 night. Very handy to Springwood shops and Theatre where we went for a show.

I had to check in late on a Monday night. Phoned ahead and not a problem. Comfortable small room (everything is relative to price). Clean, private bathroom.
Only warning is some noise from railway goods trains in the middle of the night. If you are a light sleeper maybe bring earplugs or ask for room at rear of building.

Big square of carpet replaced in front of the bathroom but not stuck down, it was placed under where they cut out the piece, trip hazard.
Something that bites also in the carpet that kept biting my ankles, 15 raised little spots highly itchy and red, luckily I carry first aid kit in the car and I had anti histamines. Sleep? Very little.

Half decent stay at a top price

I was looking for a last minute place to stay that was fairly cheap in the mountains and this hotel fitted the brief. The parking on site was good, check in process seamless and directions to move about the hotel were spot on. The downside was the room and corridors has a oily/food smell, there was early morning chatter from a local cafe and it's a fairly tight room. If you are looking for a cheap stay with good distance to Springwood shops, this is a place to consider.

It took 45 minutes to check in because the administration person was busy pouring beers inside the hotel.?Parking was a nightmare to find.
Had no lift, had to use stairs to the 4th floor.
No sleep as the hotel is located on a train track line. Very small room and no Airconditioning and the ceiling fan in the room did not work.
Not impressed for $120.00 per night!

Cheap accommodation. The room small, double bed that was so comfy. Heater in bathroom and bedroom . Did not need on during the night as bedding kept us warm . Even had window slightly open . Surprisingly not at all noisy . Hotel in Main Street , so you can Walk to cafes. Have stayed here before due to visiting family . Suits our needs. Would recommend for anyone visiting overnight .

Parking access from rear entrance; tight undercover parking. Super clean Room 5 - bathroom (shower over bath), kitchenette, fridge and bed sheets, pillows. Separate small kitchen available too. Had to phone and ask how to check-in after parking at rear. Lots of stairs. My room was opposite train station and outdoor seating area. I didn't mind the social chatter and music (which ceased promptly on curfew). Check that the external corridor door is closed as it leads down to the street front. Unfortunately, my full rubbish bin bag was sitting on the table, with my personal items; forgetful? I put it outside my door.

Location was great. At check-in the manager was a little rude like I was wasting time asking for the room key. The room was up 4 flights of stairs (no lift). There was no microwave, plates or cutlery so we couldn't eat anything we brought with us. Rooms were clean and tidy but we had to get up for a sporting event and after having thumping music all night we were a little fatigued!

Situated opposite Railway Station so very convenient. Its a HOTEL so expected some noise from Bars down below - not too intrusive (but don't complain as it's part of the charm). Had a separate Kitchen upstairs for guests use. Hosts/Bar Staff informative and friendly !
