The rooms were very original, with authentic wooden beams, sloping walls and crooked stairs! Lots of character in this beautiful hotel! Would definitely stay again if stopping in the area.

Really cute hotel in the center of Obernai. The room was very cute and cosy too. I'd say the downside is the lack of free parking around it but I did find a spot so it depends on each. The staff was really nice too.

Really nice hotel with a good choice at breakfast. Secure parking was at a cost of €3.50 a day. I did think that i had already paid for parking in the option chosen when booking but the lady at reception said that it was incorrect on Hotels.com. We stayed on a Monday night and there were hardly any places to eat that were open at teatime, I'm sure on a Friday or Saturday night though there would have been a larger choice. Would stay again.

Wonderful old hotel! Great location! I would come back to do some bike riding in the local trails. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard. We stayed in on the 3rd floor and my only negative comment is that the 3rd floor hall carped had an old smell to it.

Fun and eccentric little attic place that was very roomy! Air conditioning was welcome after being in the heat outside. Didn’t take breakfast there, but it looked good. We had a place to store our bikes, which was great! Good value for the money - would stay again!

A charming hotel. Very well located as well. The city parking lot is right around the corner, so you don't have to pay for parking. You can walk to all the restaurants and the tourist center. And the breakfast is quite nice. Way more stuff than you regular croissants and coffee.

Wonderful hotel in the oldtown. Comfy rooms, excellent service and great staff. Works well for a family looking for a few beds. Very good wifi and a nice continental breakfast. Close by shopping and restaurants. Only downside is no air conditioning. On a hot day, the room is uncomfortable. Once you get the windows open at night, it cools down, and the staff provided extra fans. If we are in the area again, will definitely go back.

Quaint, great location, large rooms but....
This is a cute hotel, built out of the former governors mansion. Facilities and rooms are quaint yet generously sized and you are right near a free parking lot and town with lots of great restaurants (including one with 2 Michelin stars!!!!) However, be aware if you go in the summer there is no Air Conditioning (it was how on the 2nd floor, even with the windows open). Also, I did not appreciate the antiquated plumbing which led to the shower alternating between extremely hot and freezing cold.

Quaint hotel in a walled town outside Strasbourg.
Chose the village of Obernai, 10K outside Strasbourg, as a quiet alternative to the city, and opted for two nights at Le Gouverneur, with a reasonable off-season rate. The gated entrance just inside the ramparts was a short distance from 24-hr free parking. Check-in was at a modern reception and breakfast area, and rooms overlook an Elizabethan-like central courtyard. My spacious second floor room had both a double and single bed, 15-inch wide original wood plank floors, and a nicely updated bathroom. The town has narrow streets, many historic sights, and good food options.

Perfect location in the middle of Obernai for visiting Alsace. Very convenient public parking at 200 meters from the hotel. Easy commute to Strassbourg with P&R at a very low price. Only caveat, I was unable to get good connection with their Wi-Fi but they did gave me access to their own computers to get on line.

This was a great hotel. Not sure why only 2 stars. Our room was very large and easily accommodated 4 people. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Paid parking is limited, but can be easily found on the street or nearby. Ambiance of the place is fantastic and within easy walking distance to all of the shops and sites of the city center. I would definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at this hotel before and had another lovely stay. I asked to stay in a green room and was given Lamelle, a very pretty room on the second floor. Each room is different , each with its own name. Breakfast is a buffet. The hotel is in a great location, so we could walk to a restaurant within minutes. The car park is next to hotel and is free from 7 pm to 9 am.

Unique, quality hotel in a fabulous location
Obernai was a real surprise as part of our trip travelling through France on route to the Alps. It is a chocolate box town which is like something you would see in a film, really picture postcard. The hotel was a fabulous find and offered a comfortable room in a central setting with a secure car park and great value.
The breakfast was great value and the service was fabulous with us being given sound advice on where to eat and a printed map on arrival - a really nice touch.
The food we ate at the recommended restaurant was top quality and good value.

This hotel is in a perfect location with ample parking, pleasant staff, very clean and spacious rooms, and an enormous amount of charm. We had a wonderful stay here and enjoyed every minute. Leuk hotel, propere kamer en grote douche; het toilet is nog afgescheiden van de badkamer. Ligt pal in het midden van het centrum, alle restaurants op wandelafstand. Receptie is goed van alles op de hoogte, meer info bij de toeristische dienst in het centrum. Ontbijt is zeer goed en uitgebreid, verzorgd ook. Vlak in de buurt zijn twee mooie wandelingen van ongeveer 1 uur en 1u30min naar het memorail en een toer in het bos vlakbij het zwembad.Mensen zijn vriendelijk en helpen waar ze kunnen. leuk voor een paar dagen of een week verblijf.

The place is very nice and historically important. Although my room was compact and cosy (meaning small), it was super comfortable. The staff was super gentle and always ready to help. There is free parking just outside the hotel on the other side of the medieval walls and all that matters in Obernay beggins there, at the hotel. Nicht schlecht, sehr zentral, die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. - Wir waren im Zimmer 005 untergebracht, dieses Zimmer machte zumindest von außen einen anderen Eindruck, schon die Tür war schlichter als die der anderen Zimmer; es war wohl vorher ein Stall oder so, es roch etwas merkwürdig und man hörte abends irgendwelche Nagetiere unter dem Fußboden, im Idealfall waren es nur Mäuse.

L’hôtel Le Gouverneur est un établissement d’époque situé au centre ville d’Obernai. Je m’y rends chaque mois pour le travail. Un parking se situe devant l’hôtel et à 2 min à pied sur la place du marché. Les chambres sont traditionnelles et vous permettent de découvrir l’architecture alsacienne de l’intérieur. Posto carinissimo all'interno di un paese altrettanto tipico e carino. Check-in veloce ed estremamente gentile, camera pulita e spaziosa, bagno luminoso. Diciamo che l'unico problema è il periodo di permanenza, quest'anno con la temperatura di agosto, forse era meglio controllare prima la presenza dell'aria condizionata... Purtroppo la si dà per scontata e non si verifica al momento della prenotazione. Per fortuna c'era un ventilatore all'interno dell'armadio, ma è stata una bella sauna.

Das Hotel ist schön und auch sauber. Unser Zimmer war zur Straße gelegen und etwas laut, wenn man das Fenster geöffnet hat. Das Badezimmer ist etwas unpraktisch. Man konnte kaum etwas abstellen. Außerdem ist das Bad nicht besonders attraktiv. Die Franzosen sind in dieser Hinsicht etwas praktischer, so meine Erfahrungen.
Der hoteleigene Parkplatz ist mit 7 Euro pro Tag recht teuer.

Das Hotel hat eine perfekte Lage. Kostenlose Parkplätze stehen normalerweise genügend zur Verfügung. Wir hatten leider Pech, da gerade eine Großveranstaltung war. Das Hotel insgesamt war liebevoll hergerichtet. Unser Zimmer war ganz ok. Frühstück war richtig super!!
