Chongkhao Resort picked us up at the pier when we arrived and brought us to their location. Staff were friendly and polite. Our room was a bit rough. Definitely needed some updating and TLC. It felt a bit like camping when in the room. Our view looked out to Landry hanging to dry and a large radio tower. There is nothing wrong with this resort and it has a great complementary breakfast. However, if your wanting the beautiful waterside villas then this is not that.

O ‘resort’ não é resort, começamos por aí!
São apartamentos de madeira no final da ilha, atrás do hospital da ilha, pra quem chega do píer é pro lado esquerdo, passa o hospital e fica por trás. Localização eu já sabia que era um pouco ruim, so não esperava que o banheiro fosse ruim, precisa de uma reforma urgente, não entendo o porque esses hotéis em phi phi n fazem uma reforma se quer! O banheiro desse lugar é bem horrível. Pra gente do Brasil pagar 370 em uma diária e ter um banheiro desse não dar!

The hotel was standard i most ways -- clean and comfortable. My room had some minor inconveniences, but the location was a big advantage.

While it didnt bother me, the water heater on the shower in my room didnt work. Thailand is hot. Cool showers feel fine. The shower water has a sulpher-like smell when it started, but that clears up if you run the water a little while.

I ended up sick (bali belly) -- not the fault of the hoyel -- and I appreciated the hotel staff policy of not entering the room unless the door knob placard specifically called for cleaning. This is also a good environmental step-- I dont really need my towels and sheets changed every day.

The location of the hotel was desirable. It was between the two main beaches and far enough away from the noisy bars that I could sleep at night. Once you hear how loud the bars are, you will appreciate this feature.

Reasonable choice

A reasonable choice on Ko Phi Phi which balances budget and location with sufficient distance from the loud beach parties, assuming you want to sleep at a reasonable hour. We were met off the ferry from Krabi by a nice gentleman who wheeled our baggage to the hotel, about 7-8 minutes flat walk from the pier. We paid extra for a deluxe room on the upper floor, which had a balcony and view across rooftops. The ground floor rooms though looked into a canteen style restaurant which appeared only to be open at lunchtime. We did not eat there but a buffet meal was 150B, looked OK.

Recommend the walk to Long Beach, best beach without having to walk over hilly viewpoint.

Disappointing

Staff weren’t very helpful or cared about the toilet being broken for the whole of my stay. Didn’t even give me a different room. They ‘temporarily’ fixed it after I asked 3 times about it but it wasn’t fixed I had to fix it myself every time I used the toilet.
Also the WiFi was appalling.
Doesn’t look as nice as the photos
So many cats around

I don’t have a lot of bad things to say about this hotel but that being said, the room was not ready for check in time which honestly should never happen . The shower water smelled of rotten eggs for the first five minutes every time it was turned on so it stank up the room. The WiFi was sporratic at best in the night but I’m sure that’s typical . on the upside the hotel is away from the madness of the bar area and you can get solid sleep on the nice mattresses in the ac super cooled room.

Everything went well. Not a 5 star hotel but I didn't pay for a 5 star hotel. Hotel great. Entire island needs an effort to clean up trash in and around the island. Off shore needs a trash cleanup and efforts to keep Phi trash free.

The room was nice, clean and large. They did not provide shampoo which was displeasing but they did leave several bottles of drinking water. The bed appeared clean and was large and comfortable enough.

The walk from the main path to the hotel is a little out of the way but it was on a quiet location.

Overall it was a clean and safe place to stay. The bungalows were in bad condition and there was a crack in the door that allowed mosquitos to get inside, very annoying. The access road to the hotel was not lit very well at night.

Beatiful room, very comfy and air conditioner was great. Internet was very helpul and reallu good compared to other hotels in Thailand considering there is an island. Location was hard to find the first day but is close to the beach and far enough to not hear the music of parties at night. Bathroom doesn't have window so it's a little uncomfortable. One of the best hotels we stayed in Thailand.

Dirty with weak A/C

We got to Phi Phi super excited and thought we booked a hotel that was perfect for us, boy were we wrong. As we walk in the staff seems to be making jokes about how the light fixtures were broken and the A/C will 'work better' soon. The whole place, especially the bathroom was filthy. Grime over everything. EVEN the kettle pot! Stuff bed with cheap, uncomfortable pillows and stains on sheets. The shower head wouldn't stay up so we had to help bath each other. We made the most of it since we had already booked the room for two nights and there was no refund if you cancel. I never like to write bad reviews, but I want to save fellow travelers from this place! Don't waste your money here!!

It was in a prime location of phi phi, not right in the center, but a nice 10 minute walk, along the bay. The room was alright, wifi really good.
Big negative is that there were flys everywhere, especially in the bathroom as the window style is a weird one where it’s never shut. The bathroom would be full of flies straight away if you turn the lights on at night, and there was even lizards in there. Also the shower stank.

Chongkhao was a nice place with basic amenities. About 10 minute walk to the action of the village, but still quiet enough to sleep. Worth the price if just looking for basic room.

We stayed here for a couple nights and it's a nice place to sleep, since you don't spend much time in your room anyways. A few things in our room were broken and the shower did not have warm water, but we managed and our stay being so cheap made it worth it.

Nice hotel but location

It is in quiet area but a bit far from center. 15 mins walk with hot weather. Room was clean but shower is too weak. AC is not working without the key. There is one convient store which is not selling alcohol..Think about it. you are on holiday. no restaurant around. Internet is super slow. If you do water sports or stay out all the time, this hotel is perfect.

The hotel is nice and the money was well spent. It's far away from all the party areas but close enough to walk to town with all the shops and restaurants within 10 minutes. Very close to the beach. I would recommend a room downstairs because I think you can hear the music at night from the beach in the rooms upstairs more than downs.

Would recommend, great stay!

Perfect location if you don't want to sleep where the party is. Koh Phi Phi is by no means a big island and many people we met were staying where the noise from the party dominated sleep. This hotel is quite literally a 1 minute walk from the beach, a 4 minute walk from the pier (really easy to find), and about 10 minutes from all the bars. Restaurants are all over and are well within 10 minutes.

The service was solid, we did not have any issues with our reservation, nor room service. Everyone seemed pleasant and friendly.

The room itself was clean and the wifi was very strong. We were able to use FaceTime without any breakup or lag. The shower ran both hot and cold water, which was a plus. The air con worked perfectly and had the room cooled off throughout the night. The room did have a refrigerator which came with daily, complimentary bottled water.

Overall, well worth the price we paid for our stay. Would recommend to anyone

There is almost nothing to complain. It was really hard to find something nice and clean and we have been so happy after spending the first night in the worst place ever. The room was clean, air con was working good, the room is nice and clean with balcony, we got free water, room service every day and free coffee and tea. IT was just a bit smelly outside because of the big restaurant and kitchen, but still ok. Would recommend it for that money!

Nice place, shame about the manager !

After mailing 3 times to request a transfer from the ferry, I finally received a reply which said we would be met at the pier. However after arriving at a very hot Phi Phi pier our transfer could not be found. After pacing the pier several times we gave up and attempted to find the hotel ourselves. By chance we found a trolley with our hotels name on it, so waited by it. Eventually our man turned up, after having done some shopping! Not the best start. Check in was extremely brief, with no helpful information forthcoming. The room and location itself were fine. The next day we were given towels with holes in - we use better on our dog. The next day the room wasn't cleaned at all, despite reminding reception twice. The next day the cleaner left the door to the room open , and the fridge door open. Almost every night of our stay I had to go to reception to complain about something. We have been travelling for a month around Thailand, having stayed in a variety of hotels, and have not had to complain or ask for anything in any other hotel - we do not complain without very good reason. In summary, it seems that the manager does not want to be there, as he has no concept whatsoever of customer service.

This hotel was ok. If you are looking for a cheapish place for a few nights, this is the place. Just dont have high expectations. And dont eat the breakfast. The hotel is away from the nightlife but not far enough that you cant hear the music till 2am. Wifi was slow. To be honest there are nicer places to stay on the island so maybe think about somewhere else.

An expensive beautiful little island

Room is clean & big with mountain view. Minibar & hair dryer provided. Near to Tonsai bay. Phi Phi is a only small little island but it is the most expensive area in Thailand. Even drinking water and normal thai food also cost twice the amount of those in Bangkok. So if you are a frequent traveller to Thailand, don't be surprised. Overall, Phi Phi is a very beautiful island with clear water colour. Enjoy !!!

Perfect for sleeping on a party Island

The Chong Khao is a really basic hotel 10 minutes away from the coty cener of Ko Phi Phi. It's a good choice ifnyou don't want to bekept awake by the parties on the beach.

The rooms are not cleaned dalily and the staff isn't extremely helpful.

10 min walk for harbor where ferry docks. I chose because don't need to hire a boat taxi to get to like other hotels. Turn down alley just past hospital. Close to residential area but still near main shopping, tours and restaurants. Next to buffet restaurant and area quiet. Safe walking day and night. Room clean and updated. Regular hotel, could be cheaper.

Room was very clean, but with some problems: the water in the bathroom sink was flowing slowly / when you take out the magnetic key ring of the wall everything turn off, including the fridge! That's ridiculous.

We stayed on room 108, and paid 900baht with no breakfast, a little pricey, but it's phi phi, so it was expected.

The AC was very good, the TV had just 2 or 3 English channels, not too much pressure on shower, but there was hot water, no bed bugs or cockroaches found, 1 min walking to loh dalam bay, around 5 min walking to the pier.

Very convenient location away from the noise.

Nice clean room, very nice helpful staff and a great location. I'm not in the student age category but still enjoyed my stay. Yes, you can still hear the gentle beat of the beach party but not so bad as to affect your sleep. As for Phi Phi, it is very much a backpackers paradise mainly occupied by the under 30's although there was still a few of the older generation evident. Also, you get a good mixture of nationalities with most speaking English. There are plenty of places to eat/drink at very reasonable prices. The Thai food is excellent. A nice meal plus the obligatory beer would be around £5. The weather was fantastic, which always helps.

No outlook from our verandah just looking into building where they where staying? They where quite at night so they didn't cause any problems. Very quiet place to sleep at night could not hear any noise from the party area on the Island.

Upon arrival at the pier, it's 10 to 15 min walk to the hotel. This hotel is located near to Phi Phi Hospital.
Room average & it's 5 min walking distance to the beach. Add another 10 min walk to the hot spot location like pubs, shops, money changer and many more.
Spectacular mountain view from the room. The room package does not come with breakfast.
In a nut shell, everything in Phi Phi island is expensive so try to spend wisely.

There are better places like this one

Good thing was that it was far away from the partyplaces...so no screaming, drunk people arround BUT rooms habe paperthin walls. Guests in the room next to us watched the whole DAY & NIGHT TV series non stop. It was so loud, it felt like they where standig in our room acting. Even with earplugs in, we could understand every single word they where saying. We knocked several times on the wall and begged to turn it off or a least a bit down. They where awake because we could hear them walking & talking, but nothing changed. Nobody was at the reception to assist. We could barely sleep at all...

The bathroom smelled like sewage everytime you turn the shower on. The room & bed were worn down and nothing like on the pic.

The breakfast was minimal but OK, Toast , Butter, jam coffe , tea... It was a bit strange to see all the staff appearing out of nowhere to help themselfes on coffee, toast and jam while guest having their breakfast. Sometimes we where left with just a few slices of toast and the 3 in 1 Coffemix satchels (maybe five every morning) where always gone and didn't get replaced. Another thing was the smoking in the breakfast area...not sure if they where guests or staff, but this shouldn't be allowed neither way. There where small children arround and other guests trying to enjoy their breakfast without constantly coughing the smoke away...

If you have to go to phi phi, stay here

stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. Away from the drunkeness which is phi phi. Cost was fair (£11 per night) as we got a mobile exclusive discount. Bedding very clean, hotel spotless, free water every day (just ask for it) and toast and tea and coffee every morning. Much enjoyed.

Relaxing cosy bungalows

It was a short walk to all the action in the town, but very quiet when you returned. The little bungalow rooms are very cute each with their own veranda. The room itself was very clean, with a comfortable bed, although the bathroom could do with a little updating. Booked a tour through the hotel which was great and they were always helpful when I asked questions. Free breakfast was small but a bonus for the amount you pay!

Good value but a little to far away for my liking

Spent 3 nights here. In a quiet area but the last part of the walk is down a long dirt driveway just past the hospital. I liked having a balcony and space to sit outside but no sea views to enjoy. Wifi was sketchy. Free breakfast is toast and tea/coffee but it's free! I think lots of Chinese tour groups stay here so maybe not so fun for a solo traveller.

Fabulous place for the family to stay at.

We stayed there for 5 nights and the location between the 2 beaches was perfect. Everything that you would need is within a few minutes easy walk.
The family bungalow was great for the 5 of us and the view from the deck was great.
Staff and accommodations were as good as could be expected. I could have stayed much longer at Chong Khao Resort and would highly recommend it for a taste of Thai island life. If you are a friendly person and will take some time to talk to the locals you will find your time richly blessed on PhiPhi and at Chong Khao Resort.

My brother and I went around the island looking for a place to stay. This was the nicest most affordable place we found. The room is comfortable, and quiet. If you are looking to be close to the party scene, then you might have to walk for about 10 minutes, but we both thought it was worth it.

Nice stay... would stay again

We had a great stay here although we did find it a little pricey for a family room compared to what we had previously paid on the mainland... but this is Phi Phi... worth the extra cost I think. Take note that this is a \"muslim resort\" meaning that there is no alcohol available on the property. We're not big drinkers so we didn't mind the absence of alcohol at the resort. In fact, it made our stay particularly peaceful and quiet (no drunk kids everywhere). The owners also offer a lunch buffet right beside the hotel. Cheap and quite good but with very little variety day after day. No worries because there is food and a few bars nearby. There is also easy access to a great beach nearby which is very nice and very well suited for younger children (very few waves). You can also rent some kayaks on the beach. We really liked it here and would have stayed longer if we could have.

This hotel is really good value for money. It's about a 10 minute walk from the pier and is located away from the busy central streets. The room was clean on arrival however the room was never cleaned throughout our 3 night stay. Overall it's a good base if you are not planning on spending much time around the hotel.

Nice stay

I am travelling with the intention of not spending too much time at all in a hotel room but on return it is always nice to have the creature comforts there and presently clean which this hotel manages totally.

As I am also away for several weeks it was important to find somewhere at the right costs and again I got my room at a great price!

The location was ideal as it is in the edge of the town away from the pubs but close enough to all the beaches, restaurants and tour boats (long tails).

My days would alternate between a morning on the beach or taking a boat tour to return for lunch before roaming town and taking a massage. By the midday the beaches became too hot and the tide and boats removed the water clarity which is stunning to enjoy early morning.

If you large lunches the hotel also does an all you can eat buffet for 150 BT but get there before twelve as some days they are probably knocking out 500 covers in a couple of hours! if yo are not so needy for a large lunch there are plenty of a la carte local restaurants.

In all a pace to spend a short week or long weekend at a great price!

Nice Hotel in Quiet Area

Great hotel, AC can only be on when you're in the room so you have to plan to get back to the room a little early to get it cooled off for bed. The hotel was great. It's a standard Thai room so bathroom has shower and all combined into one. To get to it, you come off the boat and turn left and follow the road past a couple hotels and the Hospital after the hospital you'll bear off right. There is a sign on your left, but it is kind of hidden by a tree so keep a good watch out for it.

It's not hard for Hotels to get customers in Phi Phi. Therefore you get the feeling that they don't really try hard. They didn't make up our room, breakfast consisted of toast, and the general condition of the property was poor and value for the money paid was not there.

great hotel

we were pleasantly surprised to find our room was huge, comfy, and really new. The location was fine, close to the pier and close to the action but not right in the middle of it (10 min walk max to anything you wanted). The breakfast was pretty poor, it consisted of toast and jam so calling it breakfast is a bit of a stretch but overall this place was really very nice, particularly if you're going to be hungover at all!

Good hotel on Ko Phi Phi

The way from pier to hotel is quite a walk of 10-15 mins. You better contact the hotel prior to pick you up and help you with luggage transfer to your room FOR FREE! Bring your mosquito repellant is recommended. Not in proximity to bars and loud noise so you should have a peaceful night sleep here. The beach at the back just 5 mins walking from the hotel which is great since there are less boats and ships dock on this side of the island. The clerk is friendly and informative enough. Breakfast is just bread and jam. find your own fav food at Cosmic restaurant in Backpacker street.

Good place, great location

We stayed in the family bungalow and all really liked it. 5 girls all together in one was comfortable. It was a nice, clean room with comfortable beds and a nice patio. The bathroom was fine, but we did find our fair share of cockroaches (not the hotels fault, that just happens). If we kept the bathroom door closed, they wouldn't come into the room. Good fridge in the room that we used a lot. There wasn't much to buy in the hotel and the breakfast is just some toast, but we really didn't need it. It has a nice beach really close by and is a short walk from all restaurants, shops, bars. It's a great spot because it's close but far enough away to get away from the loud clubs at night. I would stay there again.

Place was clean and comfortable enough for our stay. We had some difficulty finding it initially as there wasn't anyone at the pier like most of the hotels. We liked the location as it was close enough to the beach and to the main town area but still quiet. Breakfast was a big let down though as it was just toast and coffee.

Comfortable room, really bad breakfast

It's not a resort at all. We thought we were going to a much better place, but the breakfast was awful (very disappointing).
The good things about the place: 1. They have people to take your luggage from the pier to the hotel and vice versa; 2. The staff is really reliable; 3. The room is big and comfortable, with arcon (even though the bathroom is a little dirty and the shower-toilet-sink are all together with no divisions, really unconfortable; 4. They have a nice safe in each room; 5. The hotel is in a silent and peaceful area of the island. You can have a really good night of sleep in there.

If you're looking for a peaceful place with arcon and good prices, you should stay there.

For the price the hotel was decent value, it is located at the quieter end of phi phi don, though the island is so small walking the length of it takes only 15 - 20.

The towels were replaced every 2 days and the wifi was solid.

The bathroom would definitely benefit from a bit of TLC. The basin and shower head were full of limescale, the plumber had to be called to sort out the hot water but to be fair it was all taken care of in 5 minutes.

Only the lightest sleepers should be out off by the construction down the road, 9am - 6pm (when you want to be exploring the bays)

We would stay here again because the owner was so sweet and helpful.

Check out Papaya restaurant for great cheap Thai food and friendly staff.

Off the beaten path

This resort is far enough away from all noise pollution that you can have a restful nights sleep but it's only a short 5 minute walk from all the busy island life. Room was exactly what we needed: shower, comfy bed and air conditioning. I would stay there again.

Aside from being in the low season there was almost non stop construction going on despite being told that it would begin at 8:00 and end at 6:00. One night it went on until midnight despite my continued unanswered complaints. I would say that during the high season this would be an average location as it is away from the beach bars and is somewhat quiet.

Pluses: really clean bungalows. Minuses: water smells bad; bungalows are right in front of construction are so forgot about \"paradise\", you will wake up hearing industrial sounds each morning; wifi spots covers all resort areas but internet access was only on the lobby and stuff can not fix it.

We book for 4 nights in a bungalow but unfortunately just in front this area it's a construction so sleep was very difficult, we try to cancel and change hotel because of the noise but they offer to us bungalow in the other side which it's was much better, we were extremely happy with service and the room.

Al momento dell'accoglienza, non ci avevano rilasciato il ticket per la colazione. Il mattino seguente, non ci hanno lasciato accedere al locale colazione anche dopo aver fatto vedere che avevamo la chiave della camera(da qui, una persona potrebbe anche capire che non siamo lì per caso e comunque, una lista quotidiana di chi ha diritto o no dovrebbero averla. Alla fine ci siamo dovuti adoperare x una colazione in un bar dove abbiamo dovuto pagare la consumazione. Camere: fatte di cartongesso, sentivamo tutto quello della camera a fianco. Odore nauseabondo e costante di fogna in camera. Rapporto qualità prezzo...anche meno!!!

ピピ島は初めてで地理には不案内だったが、船着き場から徒歩１０分くらいで、スーツケースとかは持たないで行ったのでよかった。お店の集中している繁華街にも徒歩圏内。朝食会場は広く、ビュッフェスタイルながら、内容は中の下くらいか。コーヒーはインスタント。
部屋の窓は開けっぱなしにしないように注意書きがあったが、ほんとうに猿が裏山から降りてきて部屋のまわりを集団でうろついたり、猫もかなりいてベランダに入ってきたりするので、窓を開けるときは要注意。
バスルームはタイによくある仕切りのないシャワーとトイレが一緒になったスタイルで、シャワーを浴びるとトイレがびちゃびちゃになる。お湯はしっかりと出た。
年末ということもあってか、内容の割には少し高いような気がする。
