Inconvenient stay on a beautiful site

Pros: Comfortable bed, good temperature control, fab modern Chinese restuarant on site, good wifi.

Cons: Nobody ever at reception desk, no in-room guide to anything, difficult to navigate property, construction at 7am with no warning, no food nor ability to cook in room, no espresso coffee.

It's a unique property, I felt like I was staying at a residential aged care facility but with no staff around. The owners didn't really look after their guests, I literally helped a guest myself, and another time had to ask construction workers for directions. I got the feeling this property may be earmarked for something else. The focus was on renovation, and the amazing restsaurant.

Over night for driving holiday.

We enjoyed our stay and was great value for money. Unfortunately seeing the place is an original home, it affected my allergies quite badly. Our room was large but the bathroom toilet sliding door locked by a hock was adjoining the original lounge room and reception area. I would suggest filling in this door so the room feels like a room not like a shared bathroom. When on the loo you could hear people talking in the reception area. Felt like anyone could have tried to open the door on the other side. Didn’t feel secure. We only stayed 1 night. Staff friendly. Easier to get to the resort via new housing estate than the way the directions take you. Liked seeing wallabies.

Cannot recommend for elderly travelers.

We are an elderly couple with mildly limited mobility, consistent with our age. Sadly, the resort has not made any provisions for catering for our age group: the shower was virtually inaccessible inside a spa bath (dangerous falls risk), no handrails, and the living room recliner required too much strength to work and was therefore unusable for us. The advertised breakfast restaurant was closed. Cannot recommend for elderly travelers.

Robyn’s nest is a beautiful place to stay while in Merimbula. We loved all the wildlife living in and around the property. My kids enjoyed fishing off the jetty and swimming in the pool. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of room for a family of 5. The onsite restaurant had excellent food and was so convenient. We will absolutely be back.

It would be nice to have the local authority extend the boardwalk to the edge of the property, although it is not too difficult to walk to Sunny's kiosk at the end of the boardwalk and it is also a very short drive.

The accomodation is on a large property overlooking the lake. The room was large and comfortable with a private balcony overlooking the lake. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The decor is a bit dated, but still in excellent condition. The property is well maintained. We would happily stay there again.

We had the pleasure of staying at Robyn's Nest, and it truly exceeded all expectations. Nestled in a serene location, this charming retreat offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the tranquil atmosphere of the property. Surrounded by lush greenery and picturesque lake views.

From the warm welcome at the front office to the attentive service provided by Diana and Desmond at the restaurant, every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Their genuine hospitality truly made us feel at home.

The room was clean and well-appointed and provided a comfortable stay.

One of the highlights of Robyn's Nest is undoubtedly the pool area. The pool offers a refreshing respite from the sun, surrounded by comfortable loungers.

We will surely visit this place again.

Relaxing home from home

Accommodation was exactly as advertised. Lake views with good fishing spot on the door step. Bar and restaurant was shut which we didn't know until we got there and access to the boardwalk is not quite as expected as you have to walk about a km down the road through the housing estate to the boat ramp to access it. But enjoyed myself immensely.

The location was great BUT very overpriced for what was offered. The internet dropped out all the time. Television was extremely hard to use. The bed groaned when you rolled over. The light didn’t work in the en-suite and the taps dripped. The windows and fly screens needed a good clean. Breakfast was ok.

Lovely location with views of Merimbula Lake. Room was large, quiet and comfortable although decor is a little dated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was included and was fresh and tasteful. Definitely recommend it for couples or families and will stay here again when visiting Merimbula.

Twitchers paradise.

Clean and tidy. Would have been luxurious when new. Decor is a little dated. Bushland setting means only the sounds of nature intrude. Fish in the lake abound. You can cast a line from a private jetty. Bellbirds galore, a twitchers paradise.

Lovely to have a soak in the big spa bath. Everything was there that we needed. It was quite cold and the heater was slow to warm the space, but there were enough warm covers to be cosy all night. Excellent service and lovely people.

It was a beautiful place to stay and a very romantic setting. I went over the long weekend with my new girlfriend. It has a beautiful view of the lake, forest and city. Unlike other hotels on the south coast it is clean and the service (from Greg) is very good.

Beautiful location but out of town. The rooms were comfortable but decor was a bit like grandma's place and seemed a bit tired and in need of a spruce up. The only staff we saw (one person) were helpful and informative. Breakfast was disappointing - an additional $18.50 pp for continental breakfast with bad coffee. Could had a hot breakfast at a cafe in town for that. It was an OK place but not worth the money.

Definitely stay here!

The stay was amazing from the moment we arrived down the big driveway and saw the beautiful view of the lake. Service was friendly and attended to all our needs. As it was a quiet period we got a free room upgrade. I was staying with my partner for a weekend away without the kids and it was great. We even got shown Merimbula on a map and where all the best places to eat were. The room had a great spa bath and comfy bed too! I would stay here with kids or just a romantic getaway.

Dissapointing

I struggle to understand the use of the descriptor \"boutique\" for Robyn's Nest. The decor is alarmingly locked in the 80s. I know you can see that from the interior photos, but still it was startling in real life. An odd place, difficult to describe what was wrong with it, but whatever it is, it means that Robyn's Nest is overpriced, or at least not worth that charged. Hotel location at first seems beautifully relaxing, but actually is irksomely remote, but rooms do not feel private. Bathroom is dated. The fridge was so noisy we turned it off at night. Tv was a good size in 1985, but no longer. Weird glass panels in room door allows vision from corridor to room - etc etc.

The hotel is in a lovely, secluded area of bush but still conveniently close to town. Staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed was super comfy! Breakfast the next day was good, it's great that staff help with local information if needed. A great place, we'll visit again.

Peace and quiet in an otherwise hectic world

The long winding drive down the hill adds to the anticipation and when it opens up to neat gardens with cabins and a wonderful vista of the lake you feel like you’ve arrived in paradise. Parking is easy, check-in easy and your room is nicely presented. Breakfast plentiful. Walking track along the lake and wharf to launch a canoe.
The restaurant is only open in peak season and there are mozzies so bring some spray.
Otherwise a really great place to stay.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Robyn's Nest. Spacious room with gorgeous views. The owner made us feel very welcome and was very helpful with planning our itinerary for our stay. We also seen some wild life and enjoying tracking, which was a nice change from city living.

My room was large and comfortable, opened onto the front veranda where I sat, had a drink and enjoyed the scenery as the sun set. The restaurant wasn't open but the hot and cold breakfast was delicious and sufficient in the breakfast room also taking in the morning scenery. Parking close and convenient.

A large guest house down a 2 km unmade Rd.

This is probably a great place in summer but arriving at dusk on a chilly day to no one in attendance made me think of \"The Shining\"! A note on Reception's door told us where our room was. We saw no one! No guests around. Too remote for us!

Beautiful Location
