There are two parts to this resort. The older centennial tower was terrible. Run down and dirty. The other tower was much better. Had to ask for an upgrade to move to that side. Brianna (if I remember her name correctly) was friendly and helpful. Other staff behind the desk, not so much.
Overall, Harrison Hot Springs is an over rated resort. It’s just okay.

We were very happy with our choice to celebrate our 46th anniversary at the Harrison Hot Springs hotel. Our upgraded room overlooking the adults only warm pool was excellent !! The room was clean and comfortable with a mountain view balcony as well as comfortable queen bed!!

The mineral pools were beautifully designed to look and feel like natural springs. The hotel offered a very limited menu for their breakfast but there were many restaurants nearby to go to. The hotel really needs updating in the west wing, especially. The very old carpets didn't speak well to its reputation. The room looked like any plain motel room. There was no full length mirror, which was annoying. The small mirror in the bathroom was all there was. The west garden looked like it had been neglected for years, and the statues could use a good cleaning. But the staff really made up for it. Everyone we talked to was friendly and helpful. All in all, though, we enjoyed our weekend getaway. Harrison Hot springs has lots of great trails to explore.

Went with a buddy for a 2 night stay. The view was spectacular of the lake. However the beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced in my life! The room is old definitely needs updating but the cleanliness of the place is what was most shocking. My friend stepped on 2 pins in our room from the carpet. We had to wear shoes in our room. The copper room was really good tho. Old yes but the food was delicious. You can go there without staying at the resort! We spent 612 for 2 nights…felt ripped off. Won’t stay again!

Website shows amazing venue, but not reality, lower priced rooms are awful. Rooms located in old part of building, smells like very old property, dank and unpleasent. The room looked over a rooftop of vents, and was tatty. 2 star.
However, after a long journey, exhausted, we asked reception to move us. Sarah at reception was excellent, understanding that we needed looking after and upgraded us. Still in old part of building with balcony and view of waterfront. Great bed, quiet. Just what we needed.
Most staff very helpful. Professional and great customer care. Others lacklustre.
Old building needs big upgrade. 2-3 star in places. Rotting wood in bathrooms, old curtains and carpets. Many corridors that need signage to various places, like how to get back to reception, spa, etc! Easily lost.
Free tea, coffee and only two biscuits/cake allowed in dining area in afternoon for one hour. Nice to have, but felt like I was school, with paper cups and napkin, no plate. This is one star service.
Spa facilities aged, seems they are playing to those first timers like me, who bought the jazzy website.
Not value for money at all.
Disappointed.
If passing through, I might go to the spa at hotel, but really?

Total cost for a room with two “queen” beds was $421 all in.
The beds were not queen beds. More like double.
Ensure to not book the “Main” building if you want the more updated rooms. We wish we would’ve known this in advance. The main building was built in the 1920’s and the hotel has kept it “vintage”.
TV was small and few channels.
The wall blow dryer was less than adequate.

We liked that the room had a fridge. We loved the robes and the towels. We loved the hot spring pools and the hot mineral pool. The shower was nice. The room was clean. The hallways were nice. Good size closet. Liked the balcony. Our son felt the gym was adequate but it lacked disinfectant spray to clean the equipment.

Hotel main areas were nice, rooms and all room areas were really outdated and dingy, little bit of strange smells,more like a cheap cheap motel set up. Staff was helpful, the mineral pools were nice. The men's steam room was gross. Lots of good places to eat around there though. It's good for a one off experience but for the price of 2 nights and eating out for fine dining I would rather go to Mexico.

Nice place to get away from busy city life.
We stayed in the older part of the hotel, that requires update. Beds were not very comfortable and insulation between rooms almost does not exist.
We enjoyed our stay while outside and using indoor and outdoor pools.
When we come back we just hope to have a better room.
Outdoors are very lovely and enjoyable.

Visited many times in past. Used to be a five star resort. I would rate it now as a 31/2 or 4 at most. Rugs are old and dirty. Garden and flowers were not tended to. Roses etc were dying. Pools were dirty and not skimmed during the day to remove leaves, twigs and debris from the trees. Room however was great. Nice they allow dogs.

Our mountain facing room was quite shabby and dilapidated considering the price- moldy tiles in the bathtub, cracked and moldy sink, old fixtures, chipping doors and old furniture.

The pools were lukewarm most of the time, with the indoor pool being the dirtiest one, we witnessed people using pumice stones to scrape their heels in the pool ( gross) and the men’s bathroom/ steamroom were dirty as well.
Did not see any pool staff cleaning up at all. We went with the intention of healing our sore and tired bodies in the hot springs but the water was just warm.

Staff is lovely, restaurants are great. But this place needs to improve their amenities.

We stayed in the heritage building, it is old but our room was neet and clean. Lots of towels and 2 robes for the pool. The pool. Wow. No excuse for the tree droppings and the ants and beetles and many things floating in the pool. None of the skimmers were doing anything. My wife literally removed the floaters from my beard and mustache after every lap we swam. Totally unacceptable. Would the owners of this resort swim in their at home pools if they looked like that? Big nope they wouldn't.
I have a hot tub at home and it is spotless for health reasons if not just enjoyment reasons. I would not invite my family or friends to swim in my pool if it looked like that.
We have visited this resort many times in the past and pools are the biggest attraction for us.
Very disappointed.

The location is wonderful, the pools were a bit too crowded and the adult pool was too hot like a hot tub. Loved the family pool with cooler temperatures. Both pools were too shallow though. Our room was something else:) it was very clean, which is a plus. But it was so basic and outdated, we felt like we were back in 1800s…Nothing fancy, uneven floors, low popcorn ceiling, etc. I think it’s time for a little remodeling:)

Here is my honest review after our attempted relaxing get away.

The Town is absolutely gorgeous. I would go back just to be near that lake and scenery and explore the surrounding areas.

The Hotel: The hotel is run down. Our room was like staying in my grandmothers spare bedroom. It was old and outdated, but on the positive side the water pressure in the shower was excellent.

The Hot Springs: The pools were not attended by any staff. There were three teenaged staff at the towel desk sitting together having a blast talking and laughing handing out towels, but not one staff member was observed out monitoring the pools or pool decks while we were in the hot springs. There were kids screaming, yelling and doing cannon balls even in the indoor pool that had signs saying \"quiet zone\" and again no staff anywhere to patrol.

We had a rental car which was electric. The hotels charging station cost was $0.27 per minute which at a 7.5 hour charge would have equated to $121.50 for a full charge. Even the front desk staff told us not to use it as the cost was ridiculous so we went to the publicly available FLO charging station, which cost $17 for a full charge an almost $105 difference for a charge. Wow...

Overall I was disappointed with the hotel room (outdated) and hot spring experience which was less than relaxing.

However…

The main reason we stayed was for the pools.

This was where my review goes down hill.

There are five pools:

The lap pool - Small

The Hot Springs Pools:

All Ages Pool - I didn’t bother going in as it was packed.

Adults Only Pool - noisy and crowded. For a hot springs - the temperature was tepid at best. There were patios to hotel rooms just off the pool (almost like cabanas). Loud music was being played by the occupants - not relaxing at all.

Then there were the two indoor pools. The signage on the building read “Quiet Zone”. The signage in the building reminded patrons that this area was for quiet contemplation. Ha! It was full of loud families. Tossing of balls. Swim races. Hooting and hollering. At one time, an adult and young teen decided to start a swim race. The teen paid no mind that I was less than two feet away and started to swim directly at me. I actually had to push him away.

The water was poorly filtered. I found long hairs entangled in my fingers. Yuck!

There are no lifeguards or other attendants providing any oversight.

I find the public swimming pool at home more relaxing with its adjacent hot tub and steam room.

It was a long wait to check in with only one staff helping people, but there were 2 other staff in the background. All the pools were jam packed and our key card got deactivated a few time. There was a dingy smell coming off the elevators. Parking took a long time each day as we had to circle to lot until something opened up

As always I love the pools, just be warned during the day it’s quite loud with kids playing and at night it can get a bit rowdy. The view in my room was amazing and the staff was great. We ended up getting an upgrade as it was our anniversary. The room was spacious and it was clean but it was quite dated and I did notice some cob webs. It didn’t affect our stay but I could see being upset if we had paid the price of the upgraded room to have cob webs.

Since we stayed in the old wing of the resort, we didn't expect much from the room. One thing was really bugging us was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. It stinks for quite a long time after use. In addition, the carpet was old and saggy. Feel pretty dirty. If these cannot be resolved, we may not consider staying there again.

Hotel is really old, run down and poorly maintained. They use false advertisement by using pictures of newly renovated rooms to get you to book a stay with them and end up booking a room that does not look like the pictures.

The room was awful, stained carpet, with no amenities provided like bath robs, towels and body soap.

I will never book another stay here. Worst hotel I have been in.

Our stay was okay. The pool was nice, and the water was warm. However, when we asked for extra towels for the pool, we were told to use the towels provided in our room. It would be better if the hotel could provide separate towels for pool use. We’re not sure if they had run out of pool towels, but using the room towels for the pool is not very hygienic since those towels are supposed to be used after showering.

The outdoor pools were totally all enjoyable. Each one is a different temperature going from warm to hot. It was so relaxing around the pool. All the restaurant foods we had were enjoyable and tasty and good portions, would definitely return to this hotel!

The pools, staff, and food were great. The rooms vary in quality depending on which wing you’re on. We went for a quick one night visit and stayed in the Heritage building and the room was not great. Some areas of the resort are quite nice while others needed to be renovated 20 years ago. We have enjoyed the resort many times over the years because the pool area is great and you can have a fantastic meal at the Copper Room. Just don’t expect luxury accommodations.

They need to create /renovate so that families and single people or couples can have their own kind of relaxation at the resort. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Harrison Hot Springs Resort & are glad we came. The hot springs pool was the main reason we booked this hotel, & it did not disappoint. We spent far more time in the pools than expected because it was so relaxing & exactly what we needed. The lakeside setting is beautiful, & we loved the walks along the waterfront & nearby trails.

The resort also has a lot of old character & charm, which we genuinely appreciated & hope is preserved. At the same time, the property could use some refreshing & updating.

Our room’s air conditioning did not work properly & the temperature regularly went above 26°C, making it difficult to sleep comfortably, even with the ceiling & pedestal fans.

The elevator issue was frustrating as well. The main elevator button for the 4th floor was missing & did not work. Front desk staff suggested pushing hard anyway, but it still didn’t function & did not feel safe. We later noticed 2-week old reviews mentioning the same issue.

We found the resort pricing of $33 per person for breakfast overpriced, so we chose to eat elsewhere.

The room also lacked enough accessible outlets, which meant unplugging lamps & the coffee maker just to charge our devices.

There’s a lot to like here, especially the pools & beautiful setting. With some updates & better maintenance, this resort could offer an even better experience while still keeping the historic charm that makes it unique.

We love the pools so much! The new addition of the poolside bar is amazing. Clean room, comfy beds, lightning fast response any time we had to get anything sent up to our room. We visited here a year ago, and there are definitely improvements with the new management. Last time, there were long waits for the elevator and this time, they were both running and we never had to wait. We'll be back again for sure!

Although we stayed there for only one night and mostly used the pools, the room and facilities felt very old and worn out. There was also an unpleasant smell in the corridor which did not create a comfortable atmosphere.

In my opinion, considering the beautiful and relaxing outdoor environment, the inside of the hotel could also be more modern, cleaner, and better maintained.

The hot springs pool was the main reason for staying at this hotel. The pools were nice enough but the whole swimming area was busy and very dated. Actually dated is kind of the whole vibe for everything. The breakfast buffet was ok but definitely not worth $33 per person. Probably won’t be back unless everything gets a major refresh.
