I had a wonderful stay at Harrison Beach Hotel. The pool was warm and very clean, which made it really enjoyable to use. The property states pet-friendly however, there are many conditions that aren't made clear at the time of booking.

First, it's not made clear that the whole hotel is not pet-friendly. In fact, the pet-friendly aspect is only for specific rooms. At the time of booking the stay, it doesn't specify which rooms these are. To our surprise, the "pet-friendly" rooms were only the suites which was a CAD $60 surcharge to the already "deluxe" room we'd booked. In addition, this was only made to our attention two hours before arriving at the hotel. This was particularly annoying because the whole reason for choosing the hotel was the lake-view from the balcony and upon the room switch, our room had no balcony and faced the parking lot. Great.

Second, if I'm paying an additional fee of CAD $50 for a pet-friendly room, I expect that the fee is put towards the additional work put into cleaning the room. Understandable if that's the case. However, my partner and I found that the room was filthy with dog and human hair all over the bed.

The room was otherwise in fair condition and the location was good, hence the two stars instead of one. Regardless, I will not be staying here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Harrison Beach Hotel. The location is perfect—right across from the beach and within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

One tip for future guests: booking directly with the hotel will save you money compared to using third-party sites like Expedia.

The view from our room was excellent, but the initial price of "last minute booking" (2 days before arrival date) ballooned from the $189 when I booked, to $459 when I received my Visa bill... The bed sheets and pillows were beautiful, but they were so over-bleached, that sleeping was most difficult. I trust that this was simply a "one off" occurence, otherwise, I would recommend bringing your own pillows.

Everything was very nice and we enjoyed our stay.
The only complaint we have was that there was not enough communication at the front desk. We did not know they required a $150 deposit, and we did not get a printout when checking out. It left us a bit unsure of what we actually had paid for the room and parking. But the hotel is very nice and we would stay there again.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had our dog and there was a nice doggy welcome pack when we arrived. The dog suite had lots of room and lots of good amenities that would have allowed us to cook if we had wanted to.

Kitchen was fully stocked honestly though I think this motel would be nothing without the staff. They were so incredible so accommodating, so thoughtful and nice and considerate, patient and kind I can’t say enough words I hands-down would always tell any of my friends or family to stay at this place for sure.

Great location with Christmas decorations up this time of year along the lake. We arrived a little early but we were accomomdated. We loved our view of the lake and mountains. Flick of the switch turned on “the fire” for ambience. Beds were extremely comfortable. We’d return.

I got Covid and was not able to travel. And apparently not covered on the insurance policy I bought due to a non cancellation policy.
Never again will I book anything with a non-cancellation policy especially when the alternative is a restrictive insurance policy. Lessons learned and $430 lost.

Arrived early in the pouring rain and Sam, the general manager, took pity on us and let us book in. Hotel has been renovated and the room was large, modern, comfortable with a perfect view of the lake. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was clean as was the rooms ,view of the lake was good ,big downside for me was the noise from other rooms and from the chairs being moved on the balcony ,all the floors were hard ,so everyfoot step could be hard ,asked if we could be moved but ,they said no,a good quiet sleep is what is needed

Room was bright, spacious, clean and had a bathtub, not just a shower. You cannot swim in the Harrison resort hot pools if you are not staying at the old Harrison resort, so be warned that you have to swim at this hotel's pool instead. Also, the public pool in Harrison has limited space, limited hours, and waitlists, and is not worth waiting for. I would absolutely stay here again, but don't expect to have the outdoor grotto experience.

Booked the junior suite. Room was really nice and well kitted out. Just a shame there were no shops close by that sold food you could actually cook for yourself. Just fast food and restaurants. Property had a coin laundry which was great. Amazing views from the room.
