Clean, but compact room OK for short stay, but limited space and storage would feel cramped for more than a couple of days. Very convenient for overnight stay when travelling by train and surprisingly quiet given proximity to train and bus station. The bed was very comfortable. Staff very helpful and allowed me to check out at 1pm rather than the standard 11am.

This was a lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, breakfast and free teas and coffees were wonderful, as were all the waffles we bought. The guest kitchen meant we could feed ourselves cheaply in the evenings. We were skiing and the location was perfect for us - train platform on one side of the building to get us from and to the airport, buses on the other side to get us to the higher places where we could ski. Thank you!

The room, cafe and reception were very clean.
The lady on reception was extremely informative and polite, she advised us where to park and she showed us to the lift explaining how to use it.
The restaurant staff were very polite and helpful. The housekeeping lady greeted us and was very polite and cheerful.

Property located at train station. Very basic but clean and super convenient for an overnight before heading out again because we wanted to see the country by daylight. Fair price and we were able to take our luggage to upstairs room and enjoy the charming town a few blocks away. Glad I had cleats for slippery streets in late February.

The only way you could stay nearer to the trains would be by sleeping on a platform bench!

This has to be one of the best located stations that I have stayed in, very convenient with an excellent café serving guests and railway travellers with decent food which, for Norway, was reasonably priced. Guests get free tea and coffee too and a great breakfast is included.

The room was large (2 beds plus bunk beds!) and overlooked the platform but was silent with no noise at all from the station.

There is also a special room available containing a lounge and kitchen which can be used if required - especially useful for longer-term guests as it included a fridge

The only downside was that there were no bedside lights which meant that you had to get out of bed to turn off the main light! Crazy!

Weird accusations from house keeping!

If you are searching for a short stay between long trip- that place might fit. For those who has problem with sleep- might be a bit too noisy from early morning. Few words about ladies on reception -cafe. They been very nice and made late breakfast, which they shouldnt, cause its me being late on breakfast. Nice of them. But than part of a bad experience - lady on reception denied my prolongation of stay due to fake reason . As i been explained ,that house keeping said i been smoking in the room, i cant find words to describe my disappointment, cause its a lies, i dont know how she could say smth like that and whats the intention? So basically lies. If you don't want meet accusations in smth you have not done and meet weird behaviour - better avoid

The room smelled horrible when I arrived, and the bathroom had no handwash soap. Felt like I was staying at a place where homeless people would go or people to take drugs and party.

Sheets were dirty, smelled bad of cigarettes, very uncomfortable, train right outside the window. Not a place I would recommend.

Just walk across the lobby to checkin. Tourist info also located in the train station. Compact room was adequate with comfortable beds and linens. Great breakfast with a variety of offerings kept well stocked, served in the cafe in the train station. Inexpensive lunch can be packed as well from the buffet. Wifi strong and condistent. Walking distance to places of interest, shopping and grocery stores. Bonus was full service kitchen and breakroom with supply of cutlery, serving dishes, stove, microwave. refrigerators, etc. Attention is paid to recycling options. Highly recommend.

Overpriced hostel

The place is overpriced compare with the value you get. The shower was dirty (hairs were on the bottom of the shower), and the pillows were smelly. Besides, the hotel/hostel is located in the main station which in the crowdy days could be uncomfortable. However, the staff in the cafe were extremly helpful and nice, the breakfast was OK, and having the tea/coffee available for the guests were also nice token to have. Only recommend this place as the last place to stay, and also if you don't care about being charged for a nice hotel but staying at a hoste.

Visited Lillehammer For just one night and the hotel was excellent. It is right above the train station but remarkably quiet; despite the fact our room was right above the platform we didn't hear a thing .
Nice and central, good breakfast selection and friendly staff. Would stay again for a longer visit .

once we'd worked out that the cafe was also the reception all was well. Is the old station building with accommodation in attached new block.lift access and stairs.Opening window, our view over bus station but not noisy at all. No kettle but free tea/coffee available in old part and as it's a hostel there's also a guest kitchen and sitting area in accommodation area.

Convenient for rail travel

Basic accommodation walking distance to shops and restaurants. The hotel is located in the rail station, but we were not bothered by the trains. It was an unusually hot day. The room was hot whennwe arrived, but the hotel provided a fan.

Cute place to stat and very convenient!

Great little hotel attached the the new train station. Fairly tight rooms, but not a problem at all for our party of 7 (4 in one room and 3 in another). Good breakfast with nice variety. Nice front desk people that helped us know what to do around town. Definitely try out the bobsled course just north of town!!

Three ladies, pensioners, stayed at this hostel twise during July. Indeed very pleasant. Geir and his staff did everything to make Our stay so good. Cheap, good food, good location, good parking. On the whole- a recommendable place to stay.

Very pleasant hotel with easy foot access to town.

While the room is small it was very comfortable, as were the beds. Despite it being immediately next to the railway station the double glazing kept noise to a minimum. We were not at all disturbed by the trains. The view out over the train lines is magnificent so get a room on that side rather than the town side.

We had a buffet breakfast included in the booking and it was great. Plenty to choose from and all good quality. We had dinner there as well and the meals were very good.

The parking is across the railway line from the hotel and there is direct access. We did a drop off outside the entrance in the bus area.

It was okay stay. Nothing fancy in the room. Bit awkward setup in the bathroom. Taking a shower might flooded other end of the bathroom. Forward thinking by the management to leave a mop for self serviceing. Didn't use the kitchen but for some it could be great advantage. Location wise you cannot find anything closer to public transportation.

Having the accommodation in the station complex was very convenient. A lady at the station shop suggested a train to Trondheim and then a night train to Bodo rather than spend a day in Lillehammer. She was very helpful and pleasant.

A room IN a train station....

This hostel did everything we needed it to! Rooms were clean and of an adequate size, nice and easy for trains. Kitchen was on the small side but ok, some dishes were dirty and we did wonder about the effectiveness of a dishwasher. Staff were all helpful and friendly. All in all an average stay!

We initially thought it will be a bad experience, since the hotel is really at the railway station. But from the moment we entered the room, our thoughts changed. The room is pretty much what you need when you just stay a few days in the city. Very clean, toilet comfortable, breakfast really above average (didn't have it everywhere we stayed in Norway), so the hotel is a good value for the money I would say

The hotel is based in the main train station -- but it's all very relaxed and the facilities are good, and definitely value for money. Don't expect a lavish breakfast, just a good one. There is also some reasonable food available in the evening. Very friendly staff. Only downside was that the internet in my room didn't work, and despite the staff saying that it would be reparied the next day, this didn't happen for all the days I stayed there. And I didn't notice any room service, which was a bit odd too. But if you want value for money this is definitely a place to be.

this hostel was first class. Arrived late and the lovely receptionist gave me my own room even although I was booked into a dorm. Fantastic views, lovely food and very comfy beds. Nice and quiet with a kitchen, common room and wi-fi. wifi only work in common aeas but can easily reach them from bedrooms. A Fab hostel which I will go back to with my son.

Hotels are expensive in Norway, se we looked for hostels. This newly renovated space right in the train station has a great location, very helpful and friendly staff, and our room was quite nice. Definitely a cut above the average hostel. Nice breakfast included, convenient cafe, and hostel kitchen/separate dining area too. Only downside was coming and going of trains and busses, naturally to be expected in this location. My wife aned I are well past the youth hostel stage, but would recommend this place to anyone not needing the full hotel experience.

The room was very comfortable. Getting to the room was difficult because this is hotel is under construction/renovation. The front desk is very difficult to locate but the front staff is knowledgeable and very pleasant and helpful. The female staff member on the floor does not even know what floor she is on. This hostel will be great after the construction. It is not worth it right now.

Convenient and cheap in an expensive city!

You get what you pay for... a twin room with a tv and an ensuite bathroom. The price was the cheapest in town but if all you want is a clean room with no frills then this is the place to book. There is also a kitchen you can use with an oven and microwave which you might make use of once you see the prices in the restaurants in town (we did!).

Vi bodde en natt på Stasjonen hotell.
Innsjekking gikk raskt, det var bare å gå ut av toget, inn på stasjonen og bort til resepsjonen.

Rommet vårt var lite og enkelt. Det egnet seg nok best for korte opphold opp til 3-4 netter. Frokosten var en positiv overraskelse ut fra pris, ca 200 kr for to personer.

Betjeningen var vennlig.

Beliggenheten var god med kort avstand til gågata, spisesteder og Maihaugen.

Bortsett fra været var vi fornøyde med oppholdet da vi reiste videre neste dag.

Hyggelig opphold. Var under oppussing, så litt rotete i resepsjonen, men det er ferdig i løpet av april. Pent, enkelt rom. Bra rengjort. Eneste minus er at det er tett ved jernbanen og litt bråk i løpet av natten med godstog. Veldig hyggelig betjening.
