we were told there was a breakfast when we arrived he desk clerk said it was the next morning at 7am until 9 am fine with that we arrived at 7 and were told it wasnt until 7:30 so we leaf. The bathroom sink had a very large crack in it, there was a hole in the wall by the window and the curtain was hanging loose on one end not the greatest

Showed up at 10pm. Went to front desk, and no one was around. Used the phone at the desk to call for staff as instructed. Waited for 1/2 hr and no one ever showed. Had to go down the road to another hotel. They still charged my card even though I wasn't able to stay. Very terrible experience and a waste of time.

My recent stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and far below expectations. Upon arriving in my room, I immediately noticed that the bed sheets were stained, which is completely unacceptable for any accommodation, regardless of price point. Cleanliness should be a basic standard, and this was a major concern.

In the morning, I went to the breakfast room during the advertised hours, only to find that there was no food available. This was frustrating and inconvenient, especially as breakfast was one of the amenities that influenced my decision to stay here.

To make matters worse, I spent a significant portion of the night listening to a neighboring guest who appeared to be under the influence and going through withdrawal. The noise and disturbance made it nearly impossible to relax or get a proper night’s sleep. I had booked two nights here. In the morning I tried to cancel my second night and they refused a refund. So I left and booked a room at a neighbouring hotel a paid for my second night even tho I wasn’t there.

Overall, this was a very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. Between the lack of cleanliness, missing amenities, and disruptive environment, I would not recommend staying here.

Had a booking and was supposed to arrive before midnight. However the road going west from Golden to Revelstoke was closed due to avalanche control. So, I had no choice but to stay in Golden overnight instead. Called next day explained the situation and they refused to not charge me for the night. It was clearly a case of unable to arrive at hotel. What sort of management decision to charge for an unexpected circumstance. I hope your hotel makes a good profit from an unethical business practice. I shall avoid your hotel and similar chain. Hope the public are aware of this.

At this price point, one doesn’t expect an immaculate room, so I wasn’t put off by the foot-long crack in the sink or the faucet that wouldn’t shut off unless it was positioned juuust so. What I was (pleasantly) surprised by was how spotless the room was. We were both wearing white socks and they didn’t get even a little bit dirty; I’ve never had such a clean floor in a pet-friendly room before. The bedding and towels might be a bit worn, but they were fresh and arranged beautifully. The front desk clerk was also very warm, welcoming, and efficient. The only disappointment was the included breakfast. We went down for it only five minutes after it started, and there were only four yogurts in the cooler (not enough for everyone in the room), stale white and brown bread for toasting with only margarine and one type of jam to put on it, two packages of instant oatmeal, and basic (stale) Cheerios for cereal. No fruit, pastries, or anything else at all to eat. The juice dispenser was marked “out of order”, so there was only milk in jugs in the fridge for a cold beverage. But the coffee was fine!

Free breakfasts were availbe tovus but had minimal supplies and no drink option for people who dont drink coffee or tea. Also the room we stayed in was a non smoking room but smelled like someone had smoked in there the first day we walked in.

I shared with the front desk staff that this hotel was at the too 2 worst I have ever stayed at. First, when I walked into the building, all I could smell was Marijuana, the smell was very strong in the lobby and hallway. The room didn't smell thank goodness.
Where do I begin?
The carpet was very badly stained.
Went to put my stuff in the mini fridge and the door would not close because it was so full of ice. They removed it while we were out for dinner. Upon our return, there was an item of clothing left behind. Went to plug in my cell phone and noticed a cord laying there, picked it up and it looked like it had been snipped, picked it up and it went to the phone. Took the phone to the front desk so they wouldn't think it was us and told them about the clothing left behind where the fridge was and they came and removed it. Thebed sheets smelled fresh at least, although in the morning found that they had some old oil stains on the foot area. Mold on the wall unit under the window.
The shower, OMG. Turned on the water for my shower, they had given us a handicapped room. The shower had a handheld and a permanent shower head. Pulled the thing on the faucet to direct the water to the shower and water was coming out of both heads, only in the center, along with the faucet and the connection. Got ot of the shower and opened the towel to dry off and ended up with a longer, darker hair than mine on my body, along with noticing the other side had an old stain on it.

Super 8 Salmon Arm, BC is Dishonest

I'm very disappointed with my recent experience at the Salmon Arm Super 8. We booked 4 nights, and left after the 2nd night.

I'm a 71 yo retired businessman. I know good business, fair business, bad business, and dishonest business. This hotel practices dishonest business.

The hotel management lied to me about the refund in person, and on the phone !

They denied that they owed me a refund to Expedia ( who I booked Thru ) based on their cancelation policy. Another lie !

I contacted Wyndham Hotels ( the franchisee ) finding out that their cancelation policy is one day. Only then did the hotel agree in writing that they owed me a one day refund.

I emailed the Super 8 asking for this refund, and left a phone message requesting a call back. But this owner / management team has chosen to ignore me.

I asked Wyndham Hotels to get involved and they said I need to contact the hotel. Already did that with no satisfaction.

So Wyndham and Super 8 have lost a good customer. There is only so much dishonesty you can take.

Staff is just amazing!! Front desk manager if 10 stars. We stayed 2 nights and at times felt we were in a cozy ski chalet. Some folks may write not so nice reviews of this hotel.. however… it is not the Ritz Carlton… if that’s what you are expecting stay somewhere else. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Would have liked a microwave but it was just down the hall. The breakfast was basic .. but included!!! Coffee, cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt. If you NEED more than that… McDonalds is right across the street. This cozy “inn” is in a great location in salmon arm. For the price.. you get what you get … we will definitely stay here again if we need to be in Salmon Arm!! Again.. cannot say enough about the front desk manager!!

The first thing that showed us what was to be was the keys did not work in first room, had to hike back down two sets of stairs. We immediately noticed 3 other guests returned to desk also to get their new keys reprogrammed
First room had no lights when the switch at the door was turned on- ended up there no lightbulb in the lamp
Room 1 smelled very strongly of smoke
Tv did not work in first room, when checking power outlets the dust and cobwebs behind the cabinet were very thick
Same dust and lack of cleaning evident in room 2 that we were given after the problems continued in first room.
Only two flimsy small bathtowels in first bathroom for 2 adults staying for 2 days.
In second room both pillow cases on the bed were used and dirty, I switched back those pillows to the first room to get clean pillowcases.
When curtains were opened in second room there was a partly drunk large drinking glass on windowsill and several sets of keys from another room also there
Hallway did not get cleaned or checked all the first afternoon and evening- it needed food cartons picked up and to be vacuumed of mud and debris
Old food in a Tupperware in fridge in room 2, sugar missing from coffee machine in room 2.
Breakfast selection very poor choices- no decaf coffee choice or tea choice, no yogurt on second morning.

We stayed at the Super 8 in Salmon Arm and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. When we arrived, the trash bins were already full, and my request for accessible accommodation was initially ignored. After some time, staff managed to find us a room — only for it to be dirty. They did provide another room, but when we moved a chair, it almost instantly broke.

The check-in process took longer than it should have, and the next morning things didn’t improve. Breakfast was by far the worst we’ve had — a few stale pieces of bread, mislabeled cereal, and not much else. The trash area was overflowing, and one of the employees seemed more focused on her video call than maintaining the space, even tossing something that immediately fell onto the floor as she walked out.

My expectations for a motel aren’t high, but this was well below even that. The whole place gave the impression that management simply doesn’t care.

I tend to stay at this hotel when I am in Salmon Arm. It is clean enough and as Salmon Arm is not that big a place it is close to most all I use during my trip.

The first thing that happened this time though is that they tried to put me into an occupied room. I had made the reservation days before.

Then for the duration of my stay, 4 nights, not once was my room cleaned. I am not a messy person so it was not a major inconvenience, but after as many hotels that I have spent time in one notices such things.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I slept well and after all, that is what one should expect from a discount hotel.

DO NOT TRUST THE RATINGS ON HERE! So gross. Made the mistake of not checking GOOGLE reviews before booking through Expedia. Hopefully you didn’t make that mistake either. Checked in and got my room, I walk in and get slapped in the face with a sour musty old smell and the room NOT CLEANED there was crap everywhere. I get a new room and same weird smell and just gross looking box springs that had no covers and weird red stains on them like liquid had been dripping. After being given the dirty room the first time I just couldn’t get past it and didn’t trust that the new room was truly cleaned or just “tidied up”.
Don’t recommend using especially with pets as there was gross red stains on the carpets on the hallway with what looked almost like food mushed in and basically just forgotten about and this was on the MAIN FLOOR! Nope nope nope

Booked 2 rooms. Our room was smelly but cleared after the window was open for an hour. Bathroom door would not close due to previous damage. The other couple with us were checked into a room that has someone in it (who wasn’t there when they walked in ) The second room they were given had not been cleaned. Room 3 was finally acceptable. The guy working the desk said it was his first day and he was apologetic but that didn’t help him deal with us any better.

The front desk gentleman was beyond unprofessional, rude, unhelpful, and never at the front desk. I had to take my dog outside in the morning, and forgot the key card in the room. I had to wait for 1hour and 30 minutes! repetedly calling him with my calls being transferred to Voicemail. When he finally came, he was rude. The same absence of the staff happened during the check-in. People have been waiting in the lobby, calling the staff. The corridors are I vacuumed, the floor in the room was covered with large dirty spots.

Bathroom needs work. Mold, dirt on all of the walls, no stopper in tub, no hair dryer, no tissues, insufficient towells on check in. Towells are threadbare. Unable to plugin coffee maker. When were windows last washed? Breakfast consisted of toast and coffee. You're in a fruit belt. Apples would have been an easy option. You'd be better off giving a coupon to either fast food restaurant across the roadway.
The room was not serviced at all. We stayed for 2 nights. No mention anywhere that we would not receive maid service.
Not recommending this motel to anyone.

No working TV, Window coverings not properly attached
and unable to open, no safeguards around the tub in bathroom. The free breakfast was a bad joke!!!

Room was clean but had evidence of significant wear with marks on the walls, curtain partly disconnected. Towels were nice - partial roll of toilet paper with no spare can be disconcerting but managed.

Do not stay here. Greeted by the smell of cigarettes and a musty odour as you walk in the door. This Super 8 will surely get your allergies going. Poorly lit and dingy all around. Things were questionable as to whether they were cleaned at all. Hair, crumbs, and dust on most surfaces. Bedsheets grease stained to the point of being translucent and yellowed. Walking in the room left a brown coating on my socks. Most definitely wouldn’t recommend staying at this not so super Super 8. We managed one night of our stay and had to leave, shouldn’t have even checked in as now we are fighting for a refund.
