Property is ok trying to meet standards. The first evening there was no heating and no hot water available in the room and no hot water in the shower. There was no attendants at the property to address the issue until in the morning next day. Some repair issues were explained by the hotel staff. No compensation was offered.

This is such a quaint hotel right in the city centre with friendly staff. If you are looking for basics but great location and well heated rooms with larger bathroom this is for you. A lot cheaper than other hotels in the area. Baden Baden is such a beautiful town you will want to spend your time out and about.

Stayed one night to take the waters at one of the local thermal spas. The hotel was very convenient for this and the price was low. But the building was old and desperately needed a major refresh. Bathroom wasn't comfortable but the bed was. The manager could not find our reservation at first and let us know that he didn't like doing business with booking services (despite the fact that the hotel must have signed up). Hotel was OK as a place to camp but have a printed copy of your reservation if you book through Hotels.com, expedia, etc.

Hotel does not have its own parking. You need to navigate some really narrow streets to get to where you can unload luggage and then park a block or two away in public paid parking. Would have parked first and rolled luggage if we'd known, though it would have taken two trips.

Great stay close to spas

The location is absolutely superb if you plan on doing the spas. The Roman Bath spa is directly across from the hotel and the newer spa is about a 2 minute walk up a safe, lovely path. If you plan on staying until closing time it’s perfect as you are back in your room in moments. Close to shops and restaurants and the room was very clearly and the bed was comfortable. Great stay.

Nice but get a receipt!

Our stay was great, comfortable room, nice area. However, I was charged twice for my room and have been unable to get the second charge refunded through hotels,com. I am in the process of disputing the charge with cc company. We checked out early due to an early morning train reservation so I do not have a receipt from check out.

It’s an average two star hotel ! Nice breakfast and bed ! No kettle or fridge in room ! It’s noisy at daytime but quiet at night ! It’s near the terme so it’s convenient for bus access and old town ! Location is its best bet anc it has a lift too ‘ reception shuts at 2100 ! I didn’t know as my train from tried was late as all trains in Germany but I got in luckily at 2000 somehow

UNSAFE - AVOID (Especially ladies traveling alone)

I have tried to submit this honest review multiple times. However, it keeps being flagged for no real reason. The long and the short of it is that I FELT UNSAFE around the owner of the hotel. The place was filthy and when I tried to speak with the owner about it, I was threatened and my phone was taken from me. The owner put it in his pocket. I had to call the police and then after hotels.com confirmed that I paid, and after the police confirmed with the owner that I did indeed pay, he tried to threaten to sue me for not paying. It was the worst experience ever. If you are a single female traveler, do NOT stay here. Your safety is at risk.

The location was perfect. We loved being in the center of things. Breakfast was wonderful.
The gentleman who checked us in was very abrupt and grumpy. He acted as if we were inconveniencing him to be there. Each question was given a vague, unhelpful reply. Perhaps it is time to retire, since he doesn’t appear to be enjoying his job anymore. Otherwise, lovely stay in an old world hotel.

Great hotel at a low price!

My advice to travelers is don’t be deceived by the low price: this hotel is in the center of town and is a bargain. Though the rooms are basic, what more do you need than a nice private bath, TV and internet, an elevator, and in my experience, a room with a fabulous view! Plus, the ample breakfast was delicious! Over all, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

There’s No air conditioning and almost didn’t sleep due to humidity and hot. The parking took about an hour to squeeze in the narrow space. The bath tub is narrow. The breakfast is not top-ranked with few selections.

This is definitely not 5 star but it is clean, convenient and reasonably priced. The included breakfast is great and gives you the options of something hot eg eggs and bacon.
Our room was large, comfortable and warm.
This is a quirky hotel but was just what we needed, we could walk to everything we wanted to see and enabled us to relax and unwind.

Old School Hotel in Great Location

The location is really amazing, overlooking some old castles and right near the spa and baths. The hotel itself is not very up-to-date, but I found the retro style charming. The common areas could be a bit cleaner and updated. The room itself had a distinctive and classic style, which I liked. However there are not many extra amenities - simple bathroom and shower, and decent bed. There was a balcony in my room with an amazing view, which made my stay extra special. The location is very convenient. The service is friendly, but simple, and they do not speak very much English.

This is the worst hotel I ever stayed. The owner smells really bad and so does the hotel, is like staying in a dirty greasy kitchen. The place needs to be closed, declutter and cleaned. Its located next to the spa but is not worth the money. The rooms are full of old furniture and dirty matts. This is not a 3start hotel. I feel like I been lied to. The photos on the hotel.com site are not the reality. Very unfriendly.

Charming stay!

We were stopping for the night in Baden-Baden during an anniversary trip across Europe. This place was in a great location, but that was the only thing good about the stay. Our room looked nothing like the ones pictured; it was a hodge-podge attic room, that was absolutely filthy. It had an old broken ac unit and other random gadgets hidden behind a curtain. The room had a portable ac unit that was broken away from the wall exhaust so it couldn’t be used to cool the room. The room was so absolutely hot and dirty that after a few hours of walking around the town then coming back to the room, we decided we couldn’t stay the night here. We paid the bill and found a better hotel across town.

Great hotel!

The hotel was excellent, offering fantastic service and a delicious buffet breakfast with a wide variety of options! A huge thank you to one friendly staff member Christian who was able to help us non-German speakers check in and out of the hotel! The room was very clean and tidy, and had all the facilities you need for a great stay. The hotel is both in walking distance to the town centre of Baden, which has plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants, and next to the spas for a relaxing treat! I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a great room at fantastic value for money!

Definitely the right place for those nostalgic souls who love to reminisce the 80th. Despite the computer monitor on the desk and the electronic cash tills, this hotel has the feel of being frozen in time, both in terms of equipment and staff approach. We had a pleasant, quite amusing experience, being reminded the good old times. We recommend you take things in your stride and don't forget the proverbial pinch of salt.
But back to facts, the position is probably as convenient as it gets, facing Caracalla Therme and Friedrichsbad. We found the prices to be by far lower than other hotels' and the staff showing real interest and doing the best under the circumstances.
The parking is touch and go, we had luck on the street almost in front of the hotel. Alternatively, the price in the parking nearby is 15 Euros or 12 Euros is bought from the Reception.

I have stayed in this hotel many times because it is convenient to me and easy to get to on my drive across Europe. It is a basic hotel - comfortable enough for a one night stay but probably not comfortable enough for a holiday stay. The staff are helpful and welcoming and there is always an extra welcome drink - mulled wine in the winter.

A great hotel in an excellent location, very close to the spas. The included breakfast buffet is great. The hotel is very clean everywhere. There were a couple of minor problems. The pillow on the bed was not very good. I asked for a replacement, but they didn't have another option so I asked for a second pillow, which helped. The shower support on the rail was broken, so I had to wrap the hose around the taps to stop the head from falling.

Great spot for visiting Baden-Baden

This was the first stop on a week long tour of Europe, setting us up to take Route 500 the next day and we did arrive later than expected so we couldn't take in as much of the hotel as we would have liked.

The hotel itself wasn't so easy to find using the SatNav as it wasn't clear we could drive through the side streets, so take care to work this out before you arrive.

The staff were welcoming, although it wasn't clear that parking was an additional 12 Euros, in a very tight space (where I ended up scraping the side of the car) when you can just park on the streets in the evening without charge.

There are some great places to go and see as well as a very clean and bustling city centre. We chose to eat in the restaurant at the hotel as it was so late and their Czech specialities are lovey - highly recommended.

Beware of the taxes! The price shown when I booked did not make any mention of taxes but when I checked out I was asked to pay an additional 8 euros to the quoted price and told this was for tax. The hotel itself was fine, the location is perfect although difficult to find by car due to being in the pedestrian area. The room was spacious and clean and adequate. The breakfast was good as long as you stayed away from the cooked items (bacon, sausages, eggs). But there is a good selection of cereals plus breads, toast, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt on offer.

Centrally located. Breakfast buffet included. Restaurant on site was very good and great portions. One of the front desk staff spoke very good English. We were able to street park in front of hotel Friday night but had to move Saturday morning. Public parking a short walk away. Hotel was a little tricky to get to, only because GPS couldn't keep up with us. We wondered about AC for the summer as we didn't see a unit. In May we were ok to sleep with the window open and the streets(alleys but North American standards) were quiet.

Convenient to the bathes

We chose this hotel on the recommendations posted in hotels.com and booked it before arrival. Upon arrival, the front of the hotel was blocked by a dump truck loading dirt. Our assigned parking spot was just behind the truck requiring the driver to move the truck which he did about 15 minutes later. The hotel is old, the staff pleasant enough and informative. The next morning the truck was back and it was pretty loud and again he had to move his truck so we could get out. All that said, this hotel is directly across from the bathes. Very easy walking distance.

Beware False Billing !! Manager dishonest !!!!

Manager tried to rip me off ! Nice hotel - good location next to baths - very good room & breakfast. On check-in I paid $25 deposit for a city garage parking card. Told garage charge $15/day if used. Receptionist said I could park free on street behind garage and save the $30 to use on Caracalla Baths. I did that & did not use garage! Needed to call toll-free to U.S. about VISA. Manager dialed call for me... his phone would not accept the number \"9\" when entering card number. Had to call 3 times - finally spoke with human & problem resolved. My bill with Expedia was 158 euros (including taxes). On check-out I first got my $25 garage card deposit back. Manager gave me a bill for 189 Euros. Said I had to pay $30 for the garage & $10 taxes. I told them I did not use the garage card or park in the garage. Manager griped and still insisted I pay the garage $30 - I refused. He then added $20 to bill for phone use. I told him the call was free & 4 calls were needed because of his defective phone. He griped and insisted I pay it - I refused. I showed him Expedia bill stating \"taxes included\". He griped and said he \"did not read English\". He indicated this \"tax\" was a spa tax and I offered to pay him that. He refused to take it.... griped...and finally accepted the 158 Euros. He told me not to return to his hotel. I speak fluent German, so I totally understood everything during our arguement... and stood my ground. BEWARE if you stay here.. Manager dishonest !

This was just an ideal place for spa visit since it is exteremely close to both of the famous spas in Baden-Baden. Even nicer was the hotel provides a discounted ticket to the spas. Great location right across from the spa. However when I checked in, they were overbooked and moved me to the hotel next door. This hotel seemed very sparse in decor, was unattended. When I did not have a hairdryer, I had to use the phone left at the front desk to call someone... this ended in an hour waiting for someone to first come \"Search my room\" to make sure it was not there and then to go find one. Was a one night stay...so was not expecting much. OK for location, but just a place to sleep.

Convenient location

The hotel is very well-situated, within 20m of both sets of baths, right in the centre of town. it is clean and comfortable.However, the entrance is very cramped, shared with the main access for waiters going too and from the terrace and the reception desk is rarely staffed so it is difficult to ask for advice/recommendations etc. I never managed to find out how to log on to the hotel's wifi. Breakfast was uninspiring.

Homely European Hotel

My wife and I spent two nights here for a spa vacation. If you are coming to Baden-Baden for going to the spas, this is the hotel to stay at, with one flaw only, the beds. Our beds were pretty stiff and with having back problems I left after our vacation with a sore back for 2 days. If you are healthy and don't have back issues this is the place to stay! We loved our time here, there is a wonderful staff that was very friendly and almost everyone spoke enough English to help with our stay. The two popular spas are literally right across the street, Friedischbad and CaraCara. For the price, location, and comfort, this is the place to stay in town. The casino is also a 10 minute walk through the downtown walk-platz area. Oh and even if you dont stay, stop by the Russian restaurant downstairs and try their Praque-style duck, it was amazing!

I was given an apartment room adjecent to the hotel. The room was clearly not maintained. Heating did not work in any of the rooms. Toilet supplies were not refilled. Beds were very old and had a queer smell. The 14inch b/w TV set did not work at all.

The only good thing about the hotel was the location. Very central and very near to the baths.

Extrêmement déçue de mon séjour, quand je suis arrivée la dame a l’accueil etait très gentille mais je ne l’ai plus revue. Petit déjeuné exécrable , je n’ai rien mangé , pas viennoiseries, rien et ils n’ont même pas voulu me faire un chocolat chaud à boire . Du coup je ne l’ai pas pris. Chambre jamais pas faite , pas de mini bar, serviettes sales tout le séjour, aucune Clim , ni même un ventilateur, le monsieur très agee , ne parle ni anglais , ni français et est de surcroît super antipathique . Fantastique séjour printanier : Caracalla, bains romains, balades enchanteresques, expositions, Casino, concerts. Le Paradis est à Baden-Baden. The tables in the room was not tall enough to be used for working and a part of the shower didnt work properly. Apart of that, the location is perfect and is a good price/benefit ratio.

オーナーのおじいさんがとても優しかったです。バーデン=バーデンは高級宿が多い中でも安く泊まれました。部屋も綺麗で朝ごはんも美味しかったのですが、、1つあげるとしたら部屋の中に小さなムカデがいましたw
私は全く平気な質なのですがなにぶん古いホテルなので苦手な人はやめた方がいいかもしれません。

Centrale e a buon mercato

L’hotel è centrale, la camera luminosa, ampia e abbastanza confortevole, c’è l’ascensore, il personale e’ gentile e disponibile, la colazione, compresa nel costo della stanza, abbastanza buona e abbondante. Perfetto per chi va a Baden Baden per le Terme. I punti negativi sono le dimensioni minime della hall e l’odore di chiuso e di “vecchio “. Questi “difetti “ sono pienamente compensati dal prezzo della camera.

Hervorragende Lage in der Altstadt.Ja es ist ein altes Hotel,aber ist sauber und ordentlich,halt den Umständen entsprechend.Hundefreundlich und es gab ein vernünftiges Frühstück.Auch die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich.Die sehr schlechten Bewertungen sind übertrieben.

The hotel is old and simple but authentic and situated in the heart of old tow just few hundreds meter away from Friedrichsbad. Its very convinient for city visit stay, to take a walk to the castle or visit thermal baths in Caracalla or Friedrichsbad.

Die Zimmer waren sauber. Die Einrichtung könnte gemütlicher sein. Die Bilder sind Geschmackssache. Ein zweiter Stuhl im Zimmer wäre nicht schlecht gewesen.
Das Frühstück war mittelmäßig.
