1st time in North Goa but have been coming to the south for many years. Hotel on 1st View looks nice but some small things let it down. We weren’t told by the hotel that you needed to leave you key at reception if you want your room cleaned and giving fresh towels. We only found this out on our 2nd day even although we left the please freshen room sign on the door. Also there was a trail of ants running outside on the veranda and with my son sleeping on a mattress on the floor (although we requested a bed) I wanted rid of them. I bought some hit spray and got rid of them this way. Whilst spraying the room I found some more ants around the light switches at the head of our bed.

This is the dirtiest Hotel have ever stayed in. Couldn't open the windows because of the view, or lack of it. Mold all over the bathroom door and ceiling, it was like being in a cell for 3 days. If you pay more than £10 a night you are being ripped off, just like me.

Well placed hotel for town and beach

Stayed for three weeks on room only basis. The hotel is a five minute walk to the central area and ten minutes from a quieter area of the beach. My room was on the side with a small balcony only suitable for drying clothes. I might have paid extra for a front room with the full balcony as seen in the photo, but the it faced over the noisier road. The small pool area to the rear had a few loungers but couldn't compete with the beach.
The room was a decent size, with seating area within the bedroom. Both the bedroom and connected wetroom were kept immaculately clean on a daily basis. Hot water was always available. All too frequently the floors of these are lethal when wet but this was designed with non slip tiles. Tea/coffee making facilities and minibar were provided. Air conditioning was more difficult to control. The free wifi worked slowly but efficiently allowing me to keep in touch whereas the tv had many channels but none of the news channels were in English.
Staff were polite friendly and helpful from cleaners, security, reception or management.
I only used the restaurant twice - going into town to find vegetarian food and occupy the evenings. On each occasion service was efficient, food freshly cooked and quite spicy!
I enjoyed my stay and would happily return if i go back to Calangute.

What you see is not what you get

Guys you need to ensure what you show online and what you give to customers are same. When looking at pictures and reviews it was supposed to be an excellent room, but what was given was small that the room would finish before it would start. We had to fight with management to fix up the issue and they ended up upgrading the room after paying extra on top of already expensive booked room that to in off season.

I would think twice before booking this hotel again as even a late checkout by 2 hours was charged for more that 2 days stay. This is just ridiculous as the room was going to stay empty till evening. There was not point in arguing to anyone as no one was ready to listen or go out of way to help you.

The only 2 people we have appreciated during the stay were the person who used to take our lunch order and come to room to drop and pick up and door man outside the hotel. Rest the accommodation looks dated and serious uplift.

If I calculate the amount I spent on this accommodation including all the extras charged, it would have been cheaper to stay in Novotel and get excellent service with memorable stay. Holiday is time to come and relax not go through issues.

Long weekend holiday

Went for some lone time over long weekend. Even though the place is comparatively slightly overpriced (wrt the room size, ambience & balcony) the service was very good. Especially the kitchen& room service departments. Ratul from kitchen was exceptionally great. The food was absolutely yummm!!!!
We don't prefer hotel room service dinners as we spend our time on shacks at night but Ratul and his men from the kitchen brought us back to hotel for dinner, breakfast and cocktails each and every day.

Good location is the plus point. Reception staff very courteous. Housekeeping not available after 5 pm. And breakfast variety dismal. Overall OK for the price. Good for couples and families too.

Bad hotel,old rooms ,low level lobby, mostly like a lodge, worth maybe max 2000 a night. Around 3 km from beach. Not recommended. Disappointed.

Pathetic service even after charging 4.5 k for each room.. first they deny complimentary breakfast even after showing them the hotels.com mail which had clearly written the same. later on we had to call hotels.com and then they agreed. no bottled water supplied to room. I have never seen such a service whether in India or abroad. it seemed like asking for anything made the hotel staff too arrogant.. one of my friends got sick.. so we asked if the breakfast could be delivered to the room. but the staff bluntly refused to do so and directed me to take the food upstairs. it was written on your site that it had WiFi. but no such service was accessible even after informing the authorities . AC was not working in one of the rooms. Overall the hotel gave us a feeling that they are doing pity on us that too for free. I want this hotel to be removed from your website so that other people doesn't get duped like this in future.

We had a very comfortable stay at Calangute Grande. The food is great. The rooms are small yet comfortable and very kid friendly. The staff is really really courteous. It's a good 15 minute walk to the beach though.

Stayed with my family at this hotel, the room was comfortable, except no WIFI on the 3rd floor. WIFI only available on the 1st floor. That was some inconvenience . The food is excellent, staff very helpful,can walk to the beach and shopping.Would stay again if WIFI situation changed

Nice hotel within walking distance of the beach

3 Nights Stay during First Wedding Anniversary

Celebrated my first wedding anniversary with a short trip to Goa. Stayed here for 3 nights. The room & Bathroom were clean & tidy! The staff were polite & hospitable. Breakfast was delicious! The hotel is located at the heart of tourist hub so getting to any place in North Goa is easy! Had a wonderful stay. Good Job & keep it up!
PS - The swimming pool is a sham!

Hotel close to the beach

Please upload photos after proper verification. King size bed as shown in the pic was not at all one, in reality. Swimming pool is more like a big size water tank. Meant only for children. Food and ambience in restaurant was excellent - courtesy Mr Ratul & team. Location of the hotel is very near to the beach. Overall a nice staying.

I would actually like to say that I had a wow experience during my stay. Starting from the airport until I got dropped everything was so neatly taken care as if it was a wish come true. Hotel staff are very humble and understand what the customers want. Everything was taken care on time and I think this is my best vacation so far. Ratul thank you for making our stay a memorable one and arrianging things for our trip so we can leave with a big level of satisfaction that we did the right thing by choosing this hotel.

Hotel is in great location, close to beach and town, pool is very small and mainly used by men, good breakfast , lovely helpful staff except the receptionist with red streaks in her hair who feels she is better than everyone and very unhelpful and rude. However the rest of the staff made up for her lack in customer service

Another good stay at Calangute Grande, great staff, Thakur, Luis, Krishna, Chandu, Ratul and not forgetting Vishnu keeping rooms perfect. However I was disappointed with the new menu, no real structure. Also they need to remove from the website about WiFi in rooms as this does not exist and many a traveller are reliant on this and is false advertising.
The hotel is in ideal location beach easy walk and good restaurants nearby.

When i reached, the hotel didnt look as good as in photos. But it is decent enough. but 3.5 K per night is little high. But that's because of demand i believe. But the hotel staff are a very good host. They are very accommodating and offering help where ever required. so we felt secure, and safe here. Great place to stay.

We stayed over NYE and expect prices to be a bit inflated. However, the hotel isn't worth what we paid. Wi-fi is only available in the restaurant area. The location is its saving grace. The restaurant attached to the hotel is decent. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here, and well after reading the good reviews we decided to book this hotel for 3 nights. We were thoroughly dissapointed and thankfully it was only for 3 nights. The room was not how it looked on the pictures it was dirty, they had a fruit bowl which had gone off fruit. They staff were rude, and we're not attentive.

Decent hotel and comfortable Stay

Room which we stayed was very neat and my wife liked it a lot. Neatly maintained and staff also was very helpful. They helped in arranging the cab to/fro to Airport.

Walkable distance to calangunte beach and also to Baga. Good area to stay.

Fort is 8km from the hotel. Hotel we stayed falls under North goa. We can cover North Goa in half a day. Better to hire a bike and cover off North goa. South goa is large compared North goa and it take one full day to cover. Coach tour or Tourist vehicle will help.

Cab driver charged us 1000 from Airport to hotel. We found food is a bit expensive. Panjim Shopping, Old Goa(only Church) and Fort , cab driver charged us 1800.

Excellent Food - I mean every type of food, starting from masala fries to fish fingers, chicken 65 & prawn tandoori also.
Good hotel - Well maintained; but room walls were not very clean as such.
Location - Walkable to the beach - But sometimes dark in the evening and not so great,

Hotel condition was totally opposite as shown on the website. Awful hotel, poor entrance, poor lobby, no hygiene. We were 3 couples n booked hotel online, and after reaching that hotel, we felt as a 1 star hotel wid no entrance, noone to welcome us. Hotel is very costly and its not worth it. Great Stay

We stayed at this hotel recently on our honeymoon. Best part? This hotel is placed at a comfortable distance from the main attractions of Goa, like beaches (Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Coco etc), Fort Aguada, main market areas and eating joints. Anywhere you wanna go in North Goa, you can reach within 20-30 min. Hotel service is fine too. The accomodation we took (Deluxe Suite) was very spacious and had two rooms with balconies (just to stand) and a big bathroom with bathtub. Both the rooms had TV and AC. Bedroom has a well lit closet space. Hot and cold water is available 24*7. Everything was clean and well arranged when we reached and the staff was courteous and polite. This hotel also provides in-room food service from their in-house restraunt. The biryani was their best preperation. Please avoid the full English Breakfast. Also, the restraunt opens at around 9, so if you are an early breakfast person, keep something handy in fridge like a cold sandwitch or something. You won't get anything from the restraunt before 9. The hotel is also fine from safety point of view. Overall, our experience was nice.

It wasnt the greatest of hotel but its worth the money. Food was awesome from the hotel restaurent. Staff were really helpful and the response time ws vry gud. I wld prefer to be there again.
Only one sugesstion is tat have closed shower room near swimming pool so tat ppl have the flexibilty of taking a shower.

I spent 5 days at Calangute Grande, the hotel is in a great location close to all of Calangute and beaches , the staff is wonderfull and the the hotel restaurant is also very good. Right next door is Café Lazy days it was so good I ate there 3 times. I had the suite rooms were very big a little wear and tear but not bad I would definitely go back

Hotel is on a v busy road & 10min from the beach

First impressions - the hotel is untidy, old and dated. There is lots of work going on, smells of damp in the corridors. As soon as I stepped in, I was thinking, what a mistake & never again!!!
The only positive thing was the hotel staff, they were excellent. They made the difference between me checking out the very next day or staying.

Good Service but not upto the mark

Though the Hotel is a 3 star hotel but the feeling of 3 star is not there. I was there for 3 days and when asked to the staffs for cleaning the room ( Room cleaning time is till 5:30 pm) which was before 5:00 pm the cleaning staff refused to do so. But later on came and did not changed the Bed sheets and all. The room I was in was not having a Wall clock also. Even the bed was not sufficient to accomodate two adults and a kid of 5 year.

We did book Calangute Grande through Expedia. Upon arrival, My friend and I thought it was kind of small and did not appear to be as good as the reviews as read. However, we quickly changed our perception - the hotel staffs, I mean everybody - were nice and warm in their approach. We really did not have anything to complain about. Would definitely tell and refer friends to this hotel.

Plus, Calangute Grande is few meters away from Calangute, Baga and Anjuna beaches. So it is quiet and serene from all the crowds and hubbubs of the shops and thus enjoyed our walks to and from the beaches.

Location was ok but the hotel itself was below satisfactory...the entrance, the reception, the room were all below par and under maintained..
the only good thing was the breakfast menu (not included in the price)..

Overall, i would say you have better options for the same price..

Best Hotel to Stay in Calangute, Goa

One of the best hotel I found in Calangute, Goa to stay. Wonderful services, nice flexible stuff (Atul, Prakash, Ajay, Vishnu, all the guys are very nice). Vishnu is one of the asset for this hotel. There is noting found much negative for this hotel (Except bathroom needs to be made bit well neat and tidy). Guys just go for this hotel without any hesitation, believe me its really good with all side, specially food culture and their tests in wonderful but bit expensive. I spent 6 night in this hotel recently, I must say, I will come back again for it.

I stayed 3 nights in the hotel with my family. The suite was clean but expected more from the pictures posted on Expedia. There's a damp smell all over the corridors. The bath room was clean and maintained, the room didn't enough ventilation and had to keep the AC running all the time. There were no balconies in the suite. The hotel looked very compact inside constructed over a small patch of land with absolutely no ventilation in the corridors. The swimming pool was not that good, should have maintained properly.

The best thing about the hotel is it's close to the Calangute and Baga beaches. The hotel staff were nice and friendly. The restaurant was small but the food was good compared to other places, but bit expensive.

Great value for money

We stayed there for 4 days and 4 nights. Since it a monsoon seasons, we got reasonably cheaper rate for online booking. Our trip turned to be a great one. Thanks to Calangute grande team. The hotel location is very close to calangute market and beech. Service was excellent and all the staffs were very co-operative. They tried all the effort to make our trip special. Even restaurant was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

3 days in Calangute Grande

You will be surprised when you enter the hotel... there is hardly called any Hotel Lobby - it is just a side of the hotel where the reception is. It is a small hotel with Ok kind of rooms. Located quite close to the Calangute beach (which is a better beach compared to Baga or Anjuna). The rooms were clean, AC works nicely, there is not balcony in the Deluxe rooms (it is only in the executive rooms), bathroom is small but ok (watch our for the towel storage space). The restaurant is ok - but too expensive. Overall a Decent stay at a affordable price.

Very nice place to stay, close to major beaches.

I had an awesome experience in Goa. the hotel is close to almost every place i wanted to visit. the staff at the hotel is very helpful. they called a nearby bike rental guy when i told them that i needed one. the hotel has all the facilities that i could think of, like wifi, swimming pool, etc. rooms were squeaky clean with fresh clean bedsheets and pillows when i checked in. the bed is very very comfortable, and you will need it to be just that after spending the entire day at the beautiful beaches of north goa. overall, I highly recommend this place.
